A New Technique to Generate Ciphertext from Reversed Plaintext Code

Information security involves safeguarding sensitive data and IT networks from unauthorized access and cyber-attacks. To address this need, various techniques and algorithms have been introduced. In this context, we propose a new technique aimed at protecting information from diverse threats, enhancing user confidentiality, and ensuring high data integrity and availability. In this paper, we introduce a method for generating cipher text by performing multiple rounds of operations. In the first round, we convert the plaintext into ASCII code, then into hexadecimal, and subsequently reverse the code. These transformed values are then stored in blocks, where various operations are performed to generate the cipher text. Keywords: Cryptography, Security, Encryption, Decryption, Key size.

End-to-end security enabled intelligent remote IoT monitoring system

Introduction: Internet of things (IoT) compose of million of devices connected together over the internet. IoT plays a vital role now a days and especially in future, the most of the monitoring and data collection. The data should be secure while collection and as well in the process of transferring till the destination whether Service Organization Control (SOC) or to cloud for storage. In this paper, a secure IoT based intelligent monitoring system is proposed.Methods: An intelligent IoT station that interacts via cellular connection to relay data to the cloud is constructed using the Waspmote platform. The algorithm is injected to automatically filter and only keep the new data for transfer to avoid redundancy. The advanced encryption standard (AES) 256-bit method is enabled for onboard data encryption and then the generated cipher text is transmitted. The encrypted data is then stored over the cloud to ensure privacy. Moreover, the mobile application (mApp) is developed to be installed on handheld devices for calling the secure data from the cloud, decrypting it, and displaying it as per user input, whether real-time or historical.Results and Discussion: The encryption algortihm helps in securing the proposed monitoring system from brute force, man in the middle, phishing, spoofing, and denial of service (DoS) attacks. The results of the real testbed experimentation demonstrate the complexity evaluation and reliability of IoT monitoring systems with end-to-end data security in terms of encryption algorithm delay and data rate, respectively.

An element-wise generalized singular value decomposition (GSVD) based image encryption algorithm

The image encryption algorithm aids a secure data transmission. In our proposed method, we use the generalized singular value decomposition (GSVD) as the encryption tool. Here, the secret image will be decomposed with respect to the key and generates the ciphered text. Further, to improve its security, the Arnold transforms and the XOR operation is used respectively. The region-wise applied GSVD reduce the time consumption of the conventional image encryption methods. Here, the GSVD decomposition is element-wise, so, the algorithm is more robust. The generated cipher text is transmitted and the key is generated with the combination of the key used to decompose the secret image pixel in GSVD module, the Arnold transform key and the XOR operator key. In receiver end, the ciphered image is synthesized with the key received in a separate channel. This proposed model is lossless encryption method.

Cryptography with Analog Scheme Using Memristors

Networks of low-power Internet of Things do not have always access to enough computing power to support mainstream cryptographic schemes; such schemes also consume computing power that can be exposed to side channel attacks. This article describes a method, that we call “cryptography with analog scheme using memristors,” leveraging the physical properties of memristors, which are active elements suitable for the design of components such as artificial neurons. The proposed devices encrypt messages by segmenting them into blocks of bits, each modulating the injected currents into randomly selected memristor cells, resulting into sets of resistance values turned into cipher texts. Through hash-protected handshakes, identical addresses are independently generated by both communicating devices, to concurrently point at the same set of cells in the arrays, and their images. These block ciphers, for example, 1 KB long, can only be decrypted with the same memristor array driven by analog circuitry or its image, rather than digital key-based schemes. The proposed methods generate cipher text, and decrypt them, with approximately one femto joule per bit, which is below observable level through differential power analysis. The article explains how the use of different cells for each message to encrypt, driven under different conditions, has the potential to mitigate mainstream attacks. It provides a detailed characterization of memristors to evaluate the feasibility of the approach and discusses some hardware and architectures to implement the scheme.

A DEFENSIVE APPROACH AGAINST MATHEMATICAL CRYPTANALYSIS USING SYMMETRIC KEY AND FUZZY BASED SESSION KEY

At present market, with the help of science, the information technology has developed rapidly as well as the information security as an important part of information technology is also strongly affecting people’s work and life. When the development of science and technology brings convenience to characters, it also exposes many security issues. In recent years, information security incidents such as information leakage, SQL injection vulnerabilities, network penetration, and hacking attacks have triggered irreparable losses to enterprises, society, and individuals. In our paper, a symmetric key encryption with fuzzy based session key has been proposed for satisfying the key issues like security; increase the strength of symmetric key. Here the session key is generated using fuzzy logic. Now the encryption is done by using this session key and symmetric key. Here a new authentication scheme is developed to generate cipher text. Different types of experiments to test the robustness of keys and encryption technique and comparative study with existing standard techniques have been done with satisfactory results. This paper has taken steps to develop an attack capability for use within a cyber challenge environment. The principles discussed within this paper aim to be applicable to all challenges against mathematical cryptanalysis and cryptographic protocol in general and also it is used to cover threat modeling, construction of cyber security test beds and take footsteps against offensive cyber operations.

A chaos-based probabilistic block cipher for image encryption

Traditional encryption is based on secrecy provided by secret-key. But this leads to generation of same cipher text when the encryption scheme is applied to same plaintext with same key. Thus, replay of messages can be effortlessly identified by an adversary which can be a weak link in any communication. Probabilistic encryption is an approach to overcome this weakness where different cipher texts are generated each time same plaintext is encrypted using the same key.Extending the probabilistic approach, which is generally employed in asymmetric encryption, this paper proposes a new chaos-based probabilistic symmetric encryption scheme with customizable block-size suitable for image encryption. It employs a Random Bits Insertion phase followed by four rounds of two-staged diffusion involving simple XOR (exclusive-OR) operation making it computationally efficient. Random Bits Insertion makes the scheme probabilistic. This phase also helps in increasing entropy and making intensity distribution more uniform in cipher. The generated cipher text is twice the size of plain text. An increase in cipher text space is inevitable for probabilistic encryption and it provides an advantage as the apparent message space for the attacker is increased. The observations show that the scheme offers high strength to resist statistical and cryptanalytic attacks.

Symmetric Cryptosystem Based on Petri Net

In this wok, a novel approach based on ordinary Petri net is used to generate private key . The reachability marking of petri net is used as encryption/decryption key to provide more complex key . The same ordinary Petri Nets models are used for the sender(encryption) and the receiver(decryption).The plaintext has been permutated using look-up table ,and XOR-ed with key to generate cipher text

Advanced Homomorphic Encryption for Cloud Data Security

This paper aims to provide security of data in the Cloud using Multiplicative Homomorphic Approach. Encryption process is done with RSA algorithm. In this RSA algorithm, Shor’s algorithm is used for generating Public key Component, which enhances the security. Shor’s algorithm plays as important role in generating public key. Plain Text Message is encrypted with Public Key to generate Cipher Text and for decryption Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) is used to speed up the computations. By doing so, it shows how the CRT representation of numbers in Zn can be used to perform modular exponentiation about much more efficiently using three extra values pre-computed from the prime factors of n. Hence, security is enhanced in the cloud provider.

Cellular Automata based Encrypted ECG-hash Code Generation: An Application in Inter human Biometric Authentication System

Abstract —In this modern era, biometrics incorporate various mechanisms to recognize inimitable features of human beings by utilizing their biological and evident features. This paper proposes a novel technique for constructing a resilient and secure biometric recognition system. In this paper, an ECG-hash code of two distinct individuals has been formed by taking dot product of electrocardiogram (ECG) feature matrices of two persons located at two different sites at respective databases. The validity of the system increases as samples from both persons, between whom the transmission takes place, are essential. Besides, electrocardiogram is such a unique feature of an individual that could not be compromised at any circumstance as contradictory to other features like fingerprints, face recognition etc. Moreover, the ECG-hash code is encrypted using rule vector of cellular automata that gives better security in terms of randomness of generated cipher text.
