Abstract The heat capacity of Na 0.679 WO 3 0 has been measured in the range 15–300°K. The Debye temperature per atom, which is 450° at 0°K (1) is found to pass through a minimum of 390° at 28°K, and then continuously rise to a value of 705° at 300°K. A simple four parameter isotropic model is found to be insufficient to fit the observed lattice contribution, but some qualitative inferences may be made concerning the normal mode distribution. The smoothed curve heat capacity and thermodynamic functions are tabulated from 0–300°K. The following values are found for the thermodynamic functions at 298.15°K: ( H °- H ° 0 )/ T = 52.133 J (g at. wt deg) −1 , S ° = 95.25 e.u.
