Pion superfluid phase transition at finite isospin chemical potential

The pion superfluidity phase transition at $T-\mu_I$ and $\mu_q-\mu_I$ planes are studied in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations. The rainbow truncation and Gaussian effective gluon propagator are employed to calculate pion condensate, $\langle\pi\rangle$, as a function of $\mu_I$ at finite $T$ and $\mu_q$. At $T=(0, 80, 113, 120)$~MeV, the $\langle\pi\rangle$ keeps zero when $\mu_I$ is less than a critical value $\mu_{Ic}(T)$. The $\langle\pi\rangle$ at $T=113$~MeV agrees with the lattice QCD result. At the $T-\mu_I$ plane, the pion superfluid phase appears at low temperature and high isospin chemical potential region. At finite $\mu_q$, $\langle\pi\rangle$ varying with $\mu_I$ almost coincide for $\mu_q<400$~MeV. At $\mu_q-\mu_I$ plane, the pion superfluid phase appears at $\mu_I\gtrsim m_\pi$ when $\mu_q<400$~MeV.

The quark spectral functions and the Hadron Vacuum Polarization from application of DSEs in Minkowski space

The hadronic vacuum polarization function $\Pi_h$ for two light flavors is computed on the entire domain of spacelike and timelike momenta using a framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations. The analytical continuation of the function $\Pi_h$ is based on the utilization of the Gauge Technique with the entry of QCD Green's functions determined from generalized quark spectral functions. For the first time, the light quark spectral functions are extracted from the solution of the gap equation for the quark propagator. The scale is set up by the phenomena of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking, which is a striking feature of low energy QCD.

Interface effect in QCD phase transitions via Dyson-Schwinger equation approach

With the chiral susceptibility criterion we obtain the phase diagram of strong-interaction matter in terms of temperature and chemical potential in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations (DSEs) of QCD.After calculating the pressure and some other thermodynamic properties of the matter in the DSE method, we get the phase diagram in terms of temperature and baryon number density. We also obtain the interface tension and the interface entropy density to describe the inhomogeneity of the two phases in the coexistence region of the first order phase transition. After including the interface effect, we find that the total entropy density of the system increases in both the deconfinement (dynamical chiral symmetry restoration) and the hadronization (dynamical chiral symmetry breaking) processes of the first order phase transitions and thus solve the entropy puzzle in the hadronization process.

Dynamical chiral symmetry breaking (DCSB) in thermal QED3 with fermion velocity is studied in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations. By adopting instantaneous approximation and neglecting the transverse component of gauge boson propagator at finite temperature, we numerically solve the fermion self-energy equation in the rainbow approximation. It is found that both DCSB and fermion chiral condensate are suppressed by fermion velocity. Moreover, the critical temperature decreases as fermion velocity increases.

Pion transition form factor through Dyson-Schwinger equations

In the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations (DSE), we compute the γ*γ→π0 transition form factor, G(Q2). For the first time, in a continuum approach to quantun chromodynamics (QCD), it was possible to compute G(Q2) on the whole domain of space-like momenta. Our result agrees with CELLO, CLEO and Belle collaborations and, with the well- known asymptotic QCD limit, 2ƒπ. Our analysis unifies this prediction with that of the pion's valence-quark parton distribution amplitude (PDA) and elastic electromagnetic form factor.

Studies of two-solar-mass hybrid stars within the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations

In this paper we introduce an equation of state (EOS) of quark matter within the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations (DSEs) to study the structure of compact stars. The smooth crossover from hadronic matter to quark matter in the hybrid star is studied. We compare different strategies to obtain crossover EOSs and find a new way to construct two-solar-mass hybrid stars with even a relatively soft quark EOS, while earlier works show that the quark EOS should be stiff enough to support a massive hybrid star.

Chiral phase transition with a chiral chemical potential in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations

Within the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations (DSEs), we discuss the chiral phase transition of QCD with a chiral chemical potential $\mu_5$ as an additional scale. We focus especially on the issues related to the widely accepted as well as interested critical end point (CEP). With the help of a scalar susceptibility, we find that there might be no CEP$_5$ in the $T-\mu_5$ plane, and the phase transition in the $T-\mu_5$ plane might be totally crossover when $\mu<50$ MeV, which has apparent consistency with the Lattice QCD calculation. Our study may also provide some useful hints to some other studies related to $\mu_5$.

Nonlinear susceptibilities under the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations

Since the baryon-number susceptibilities are correlated with the cumulant of baryon-number fluctuations in experiments, we do calculations of the susceptibilities and compare them with the experimental fluctuation data under the framework of the Dyson-Schwinger equations (DSEs) approach. We compare our results with lattice QCD and experimental data at RHIC. The fitness of the results indicates that under the framework of DSEs, we can deal with the problems of heavy ion collisions properly.

Locate QCD critical end point in a continuum model study

With a modified chemical potential dependent effective model for the gluon propagator, we try to locate the critical end point (CEP) of strongly interacting matter in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations (DSE). Beyond the chiral limit, we find that Nambu solution and Wigner solution could coexist in some area. Using the CornwallJackiw-Tomboulis (CJT) effective action, we show that these two phases are connected by a first order phase transition. We then locate CEP as the end point of the first order phase transition line. Meanwhile, based on CJT effective action, we give a direct calculation for the chiral susceptibility and thereby study the crossover.

A Model Study of the Chiral Phase Diagram of QCD

In this paper we study the chiral phase transition of QCD at finite temperature and density by using the rank-2 confining separable gluon propagator model in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger Equations. The critical end point is located at (T_CEP, {\mu}_CEP) = (69 MeV, 270.3 MeV). It is also found that the first order phase transition might not end at one point, but experiences a two-phase coexisting meta-stable state. A comparison with the results in the previous literature is given.
