Education on Religious Moderation in Entrop-Jayapura Subdistrict through the Moderation Village Assisted by STAKPN-Sentani

Religious-based conflicts arise in diverse societies and tend to be triggered by simpler issues that expand into large-scale conflicts in the name of religion. The aim of this community service is to build solidarity and tolerance among the community as a form of anticipation against religiously nuanced conflicts in Entrop, Jayapura City. This community service is framed in the form of a religious moderation village initiated by STAKPN-Sentani. The method applied in this community service has gone through several stages, such as observation and interviews, FGD (focus group discussions) as the core activity, the declaration of the moderation village, and the preparation of reports. The outcomes achieved from this initiative include the development of an understanding of religious conflict mitigation based on religious teachings, where this mitigation involves comprehension of quotes from each religion's holy scriptures. Additionally, the culmination of this activity is the establishment of the religious moderation village guided by STAKPN-Sentani in Entrop. Religious conflict mitigation in Entrop is closely related to the discourse in holy scriptures and the involvement of religious higher education, due to the framework of the community's condition. It is hoped that through this initiative, a sense of tolerance among religious communities can be fostered to create an always conducive atmosphere.

Kayangan Crossing Port is organized and managed by PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), this crossing port serves 1 track with 23 Ro-Ro type ships (roll on - roll off) in operation. The high level of demand for crossing services, encourages the government to pay attention to all components related to crossing transportation, such as safety aspects that are one of the important components in crossing transportation. Including life safety equipment on board the ship as a form of anticipation in the event of an emergency. The method used in this study was carried out by comparing the existing state with the expected circumstances under the International Safety Of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Regulation of 1974 Chapter III amendment year 2014. The author tried to analyze the problems that will later be drawn to be a solution or solution to the problem in an effort to increase supervision of the number and condition of passenger safety equipment on board ships operating at the pontoon dock at Gilimanuk Crossing Port of Bali Province.

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN PENYAKIT LANGKA BERBASIS MULTIMEDIA INTERAKTIF DENGAN METODE LUTHER

The types of rare diseases are currently unknown to many people, especially the general public, due to a lack of information and outreach. Although this disease is very rare, there is a need for early education on its symptoms as a form of anticipation and information and tolerance for sufferers of this disease with the aim of increasing knowledge and awareness about rare diseases. The main problem in this study is the lack of information media for health education about rare diseases, so we need an information media that can present rare disease knowledge that is not only easy to understand but also creative in order to be able to attract people's attention and make learning more fun by creating a interactive multimedia-based learning system. This application is to support understanding of rare diseases, especially for ordinary people who suffer from rare diseases or are around people with rare diseases. The method chosen is the Luther method, which is a multimedia development method based on six stages, namely Concept, Design, Material Collection, Assembly, Testing, and Distribution.

Awareness of Earthquake Disaster Information by Teenagers in Pagar Alam City

agar Alam is a disaster-prone area because this area has a volcano that can be active at any time. Conditions and information about the activities of Mount Dempo are very important for the entire community to know as a form of anticipation if an earthquake and eruption occur. The media is a part of the process of disseminating disaster-related information. However, it turns out that not all people in Pagar Alam City have concerned know this. So in the process of disaster mitigation experiencing difficulties. This research was conducted by distributing google forms to teenagers in Pagar Alam City, namely high school/vocational high school students. The goal is to find out if they have the initiative to find out about disaster information in their area. And categorize what media are the references in obtaining news about the disaster. With the uses and gratification theory as well as a disaster mitigation approach, the results obtained are that most of the youth in Pagar Alam know that they live in disaster-prone areas. Facebook is the most common reference in providing information about disasters that occur and they have enough initiative to seek further information about disasters, especially earthquakes. The Pagar Alam City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as the party responsible for disaster management has been widely known by the people of Pagar Alam City, only those disaster mitigation activities that should be part of their duties are not felt by the majority of the community.

Meiotic drive in chronic lymphocytic leukemia compared with other malignant blood disorders

The heredity of the malignant blood disorders, leukemias, lymphomas and myeloma, has so far been largely unknown. The present study comprises genealogical investigations of one hundred and twelve Scandinavian families with unrelated parents and two or more cases of malignant blood disease. For comparison, one large family with related family members and three hundred and forty-one cases of malignant blood disease from the Faroese population was included. The inheritance is non-Mendelian, a combination of genomic parental imprinting and feto-maternal microchimerism. There is significantly more segregation in maternal than in paternal lines, predominance of mother-daughter combinations in maternal lines, and father-son combinations in paternal lines. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is the most frequent diagnosis in the family material, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia has a transgenerational segregation that is unique in that inheritance of susceptibility to chronic lymphocytic leukemia is predominant in males of paternal lines. Male offspring with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in paternal lines have a birth-order effect, which is manifest by the fact that there are significantly more male patients late in the sibling line. In addition, there is contravariation in chronic lymphocytic leukemia, i.e. lower occurrence than expected in relation to other diagnoses, interpreted in such a way that chronic lymphocytic leukemia remains isolated in the pedigree in relation to other diagnoses of malignant blood disease. Another non-Mendelian function appears in the form of anticipation, i.e. increased intensity of malignancy down through the generations and a lower age at onset of disease than otherwise seen in cases from the Cancer Registers, in acute lymphoblastic leukemia, for example. It is discussed that this non-Mendelian segregation seems to spread the susceptibility genes depending on the gender of the parents and not equally to all children in the sibling line, with some remaining unaffected by susceptibility i.e. "healthy and unaffected", due to a birth order effect. In addition, anticipation is regarded as a non-Mendelian mechanism that can amplify, «preserve» these vital susceptibility genes in the family. Perhaps this segregation also results in a sorting of the susceptibility, as the percentage of follicular lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is lower in the family material than in an unselected material. Although leukemias, lymphomas and myelomas are potentially fatal diseases, this non-Mendelian distribution and amplification hardly play any quantitative role in the survival of Homo sapiens, because these diseases mostly occur after fertile age.

Civil Lawsuit Cases of Forest and Land Fires PT Kalista Alam (Study of Meulaboh District Court Decision Number 12/PDT.G/2012/PN.MBO)

Cases of forest fires in Indonesia are sometimes caused by human activities. Land clearing is often a reason to let up a lawsuit. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) has made every effort as a form of anticipation and to overcome cases of forest and land fires (karhutla) in Indonesia. One of the countermeasures is the filing of a civil lawsuit to the perpetrators of the karhutla. PT Kalista Alam as an example of various palm oil companies that are the target of civil lawsuits by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry over forest fires. The lawsuit is based on how much of an impact it has on various aspects, both from legal, environmental, and materiil aspects. This research uses quantitative research methods that are with a systematic normative juridical legal approach. There will be further explanations about the unlawful actions of forest and land fires committed by PT Kalista Alam in Aceh based on the perspective of civil law.

Application Of CPM Methode (Critical Path Methode) In Controlling The Time 100 Teus Contrainer Ship Hull Construction Project

Construction projects are generally the most high-risk businesses, especially shipbuilding projects. Efforts to reduce the risk can be done by minimizing the potential risk. This study aims to see potential high risk and prevent delays in the completion of ship construction using the Critical Path Method CPM at PT. XYZ. By using the Critical Path Method CPM critical paths can be given more attention so that they will not interfere ship construction projects. In addition, it is also a form of anticipation if there is a delay, it is possible to reschedule.

Internet of things for flood and landslide early warning

The purpose of this study is to improve the use of technology for the occurrence of a disaster as a form of anticipation in a disaster-prone area and tourist area. The method used in this research was a descriptive research method where the data obtained from events that occur in a particular region. The results of this study indicate that technological innovation is needed to monitor floods and landslides because based on the data from National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) on the occurrence of disasters in Indonesia. There are still many areas that prone to natural disasters especially floods and landslides. The important role of the technology is to increase the level of confidence and security of tourists towards the potential for a disaster that occurs and can improve the tourism industry economy.

What it means to say "I Don't have any money to buy health insurance" in rural Vietnam: How anticipatory activities shape health insurance enrollment.

Abstract Cost is a well-established barrier to health insurance uptake. Although iterations of the phrase “I don’t have any money to buy health insurance” are pervasive in research on the determinants of health insurance enrollment, its meaning is not universal. Through ethnographic immersion in Vinh Long Province and 34 semi-structured interviews collected from August 2015-September 2016, I show that being uninsured is not merely about the financial cost of an insurance card. Instead, the use of money in this phrase signals “anticipatory activities,” which refer to projects undertaken in the service of a projected future. If participation in insurance is fundamentally about planning for the future, then people weighed the risk management aspect of insurance against other more pressing anticipatory activities. Cash was key as it facilitated one’s ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances engendered by Vietnam’s ongoing marketization and global integration. For informal sector workers in this rural district, the value of health insurance was judged against five primary anticipatory activities where cash had instrumental and cultural dimensions: anticipating care responsibilities following the life course, anticipating changing economic and environmental risks, cultivating relationships as a form of anticipation, anticipating uncertain health vulnerabilities, and anticipating the inequalities of the health care system. By bringing attention to how anticipation is articulated in financial and health-seeking practices, I show how my interlocutors view their decision to remain uninsured as morally worthwhile. This study moves beyond utilitarian frameworks for understanding the uninsured. It also advances the anthropological agenda to study the “social life of health insurance” across the globe.

Akselerasi Peningkatan Kualitas Pendidikan Daerah Tertinggal Melalui Model Pembelajaran Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) di Era Industri 4.0 (Studi Kasus Implemetasi Pilot Project di Kabupaten Halmahera Barat)

Kesetaraan pendidikan merupakan salah satu persoalan utama pendidikan di daerah tertinggal. Tidak hanya terkait aksesibilitas dan minimnya sarana dan prasarana, namun ketersediaan tenaga pendidik dan kualitas belajar mengajar juga perlu mendapatkan perhatian. Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Desa, Pembangunan Daerah Tertinggal dan Transmigrasi menginisiasi percepatan peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di tingkat SMP daerah tertinggal. Rintisan model pembelajaran berorientasi Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) dilakukan bersama pihak mitra yang telah mengembangkan pembelajaran menggunakan materi belajar digital. Penyampaian materi pelajaran dapat secara online dan offline, mudah disesuaikan dengan kondisi daerah pedalaman yang sulit mengakses fasilitas internet. Implementasi pilot project di kabupaten yang masih berstatus daerah tertinggal, Halmahera Barat, melibatkan 2 rombongan belajar siswa kelas IX A dan IX B, SMPN 7 Halmahera Barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengkajian ini adalah kuantitatif eksperimen yaitu dengan melihat hasil belajar siswa yang diukur dari nilai pre-test dan post-test yang dilakukan terhadap kelas eksperimen dan analisis data dilakukan dengan uji-T paired test. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan (thitung > ttabel). Implementasi metode pembelajaran berbasis HOTS dengan fasilitas materi belajar digital dapat direplikasi untuk daerah tertinggal dan terpencil yang masih kurang ketersediaan tenaga guru dan sebagai bentuk antisipasi penyiapan SDM di era Industri 4.0.

Reconfiguring non-domination: green politics from pre-emption to inoperosity

ABSTRACT Republicanism gives non-domination a central role. However, the modes of domination change over time. Expertise and anticipation have gained growing relevance in this respect. An emergent form of anticipation is pre-emption. This represents a peculiar ‘politics of time’, whereby an eschatological event is set and continuously postponed, past, present and future are no longer sequentially connected, and change reproduces the ruling order. Mainly addressed in relation to the military and security, pre-emption plays a growing role in the environmental field. The paper discusses three examples: human enhancement, responsible innovation and the ‘ecomodernist’ take on the Anthropocene thesis. In all cases, what is promised on one side – respectively, empowerment, participation and care for nature – is denied on the other, hampering a transformative green politics. To circumvent this deadlock the paper explores the connection between non-domination and inoperosity. The latter does not mean passivity, resignation, but action free from the compulsion to achieve and expand. Non-domination requires recognition of limits as constitutive of the relationship with oneself and the world. On this view, a promising terrain of inquiry for civic republicanism is offered by ‘prefigurative’ mobilizations.

Anticipatory anti-colonial writing in R.K. Narayan’s Swami and Friends and Mulk Raj Anand’s Untouchable

This article uses the term “anticipatory anti-colonial writing” to discuss the workings of time in R.K. Narayan’s Swami and Friends and Mulk Raj Anand’s Untouchable. Both these first novels were published in 1935 with the support of British literary personalities (Graham Greene and E.M. Forster respectively) and both feature young protagonists who, in contrasting ways, are engaged in Indian resistance to colonial rule. This study examines the difference between Narayan’s local, though ironical, resistance to the homogenizing temporal demands of empire and Anand’s awkwardly modernist, socially committed vision. I argue that a form of anticipation that explicitly looks forward to decolonization via new and transnational literary forms is a crucial feature of Untouchable that is not found in Swami and Friends, despite the latter’s anti-colonial elements. Untouchable was intended to be a “bridge between the Ganges and the Thames” and anticipates postcolonial negotiations of time that critique global inequalities and rely upon the multidirectional global connections forged by modernism.

Tool use as distributed cognition: how tools help, hinder and define manual skill

Our thesis in this paper is that, in order to appreciate the interplay between cognitive (goal-directed) and physical performance in tool use, it is necessary to determine the role that representations play in the use of tools. We argue that rather being solely a matter of internal (mental) representation, tool use makes use of the external representations that define the human–environment–tool–object system. This requires the notion of Distributed Cognition to encompass not simply the manner in which artifacts represent concepts but also how they represent praxis. Our argument is that this can be extended to include how artifacts-in-context afford use and how this response to affordances constitutes a particular form of skilled performance. By artifacts-in-context, we do not mean solely the affordances offered by the physical dimensions of a tool but also the interaction between the tool and the object that it is being used on. From this, “affordance” does not simply relate to the physical appearance of the tool but anticipates subsequent actions by the user directed towards the goal of changing the state of the object and this is best understood in terms of the “complimentarity” in the system. This assertion raises two challenges which are explored in this paper. The first is to distinguish “affordance” from the adaptation that one might expect to see in descriptions of motor control; when we speak of “affordance” as a form of anticipation, don’t we just mean the ability to adjust movements in response to physical demands? The second is to distinguish “affordance” from a schema of the tool; when we talk about anticipation, don’t we just mean the ability to call on a schema representing a “recipe” for using that tool for that task? This question of representation, specifically what knowledge needs to be represented in tool use, is central to this paper.

Thought Experiments in Criminal Trial

The aspiration to determine the shape of the future is an essential feature of human thought. It can be carried out in many different forms: in the oracles of the prophets and seers, who claim that their future is visible or revealed in a particular way and inaccessible to other men; in the predictions of the augurs and astrologers, who claim to succeed, on the basis of visible phenomena, such as the status of animal intestines or of the constellations of the heavenly bodies, to read the future fate of individuals or companies; in the global visions of the future born out of visionaries and philosophers of the history that, according to various beliefs on the structure of the rational world, human nature or guidelines and purposes of global historical process, draw conclusions on the shape of the future aiming at giving meaning to the events of the past. Finally, such an aspiration is done in the advances” based on the knowledge of natural and social sciences and related both to future events and complex social and natural processes. Each of these kinds of anticipation is referred to a different kind of knowledge, assuming the merits thereof. The goal we intend to reach herein is not to discuss neither the various forms of anticipation nor their conditioning. We will focus only in the form of anticipation that appeals to trial related knowledge and is therefore considered trial related in itself. We will therefore analyze only its assumptions, its rules and its epistemological possibility of anticipation in a particular case, what we call the Thought Experiments of Dismissal (TED). We will consider, in particular, two ways of understanding TED: as construction of a dynamic model in Judge’s mind, who imagines the sequence of events and processes, and concludes about the results, without being able to rely on any real-time (what we will call PTED, Platonic Thought Experiment of Dismissal); as anticipation of a hypothetical experimental situation, in which on the basis of a series of previous knowledge it is believed that intervening in a specific way it will generated an experimental modification of certain aspects or variables of this one (what I call OTED, Operational Thought Experiments of Dismissal).

Forward displacement in grasping and visually judging pliers

Observers often tend to misremember the visual stopping point of a movement in the direction of movement (representational momentum). We investigated whether this forward displacement also occurs in grasping. We asked participants to close virtual pliers after the pliers had been opening or closing. The participants' thumbs and index fingers were attached to robot arms which allowed us to provide haptic feedback about the location of the pliers' handles. In a visual task, participants judged the remembered final opening width of the pliers relative to a comparison stimulus. For grasping, we found forward displacement: participants opened their fingers wider if the pliers had been opening compared to when they had been closing. In contrast, we did not find clear forward displacement in the visual task. The effects in grasping and the visual task were not correlated between participants. These results seem to argue against the existence of one form of anticipation that serves both perception and grasping.
