Finite-time synchronization of different dimensional chaotic systems with uncertain parameters and external disturbances

This paper proposes a new control scheme using two scaling matrices that realizes the finite-time synchronization of different-dimensional chaotic systems with parameter uncertainties and external disturbances. Firstly, based on Lyapunov stability theorem and finite-time stability theorem, the definition of finite-time synchronization of chaotic systems with different dimensions is introduced. Secondly, in the case of external disturbance and parameter uncertainty, an adaptive feedback hybrid controller and parameter adaptive laws are designed to synchronize different dimensional uncertain chaotic systems in finite-time. Then, according to the characteristics of the unknown parameters of the system, a transformation matrix is constructed to meet the needs of chaotic systems with different dimensions, and a simplified synchronization control scheme is designed. Finally, two numerical experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Finite-time stabilization of nonlinear systems via impulsive control with state-dependent delay

This paper focuses on the issue of finite-time stability for a general form of nonlinear systems subject to state-dependent delayed impulsive controller. Based on the Lyapunov theory and the impulsive control theory, sufficient conditions for finite-time stability (FTS) and finite-time contractive stability (FTCS) are obtained. Additionally, we apply theoretical results to finite-time synchronization of chaotic systems and design the effective state-dependent delayed impulsive controllers in terms of techniques of linear matrix inequality (LMI). Finally, we present two numerical examples of finite-time synchronization of cellular neural networks and Chua’s circuit to verify the effectiveness of our results.

Improved Sliding Mode Finite-Time Synchronization of Chaotic Systems with Unknown Parameters

This work uses the sliding mode control method to conduct the finite-time synchronization of chaotic systems. The utilized parameter selection principle differs from conventional methods. The designed controller selects the unknown parameters independently from the system model. These parameters enable tracking and prediction of the additional variables that affect the chaotic motion but are difficult to measure. Consequently, the proposed approach avoids the limitations of selecting the unknown parameters that are challenging to measure or modeling the parameters solely within the relevant system. This paper proposes a novel nonsingular terminal sliding surface and demonstrates its finite-time convergence. Then, the adaptive law of unknown parameters is presented. Next, the adaptive sliding mode controller based on the finite-time control idea is proposed, and its finite-time convergence and stability are discussed. Finally, the paper presents numerical simulations of chaotic systems with either the same or different structures, thus verifying the proposed method’s applicability and effectiveness.

Robust finite-time synchronization of uncertain chaotic systems: application on Duffing-Holmes system and chaos gyros

ABSTRACTThis paper considers the finite-time synchronization of chaotic systems in the presence of model uncertainties and/or external disturbances. The synchronization happens between the two nonlinear master and slave systems. Control law is designed in such a way that the state variables of the slave system follow the state variables of the master system in the presence of uncertainties and external disturbances. In order to design a robust finite-time controller, first, a novel terminal sliding surface is proposed and its finite-time convergence to zero is analytically proved. Then a terminal sliding mode controller is designed which can conquer the uncertainties and guarantees the finite-time stability of the sliding motion equations. In this regard, a theorem is proposed and according to the Lyapunov approach it is proved that the synchronization happenes in finite-time. Additionally, in order to show the applicability of the proposed controller, it is applied on two practical systems, the Duffing–Holmes system and chaotic gyroscope system. Computer simulations verify the theoretical results and also display the effective performance of the proposed controller.

Finite-Time Synchronization of Chaotic Systems with Different Dimension and Secure Communication

Finite-time synchronization of chaotic systems with different dimension and secure communication is investigated. It is rigorously proven that global finite-time synchronization can be achieved between three-dimension Lorenz chaotic system and four-dimension Lorenz hyperchaotic system which have certain parameters or uncertain parameters. The electronic circuits of finite-time synchronization using Multisim 12 are designed to verify our conclusion. And the application to the secure communications is also analyzed and discussed.

Finite-time synchronization of chaotic systems with noise perturbation

In this paper, we investigate the finite-time stochastic synchronization problem of two chaotic systems with noise perturbation. We propose new adaptive controllers, with which we can synchronize two chaotic systems in finite time. Sufficient conditions for the finite-time stochastic synchronization are derived based on the finite-time stability theory of stochastic differential equations. Finally, some numerical examples are examined to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the theoretical results.

A general nonlinear adaptive control scheme for finite-time synchronization of chaotic systems with uncertain parameters and nonlinear inputs

In this paper, the problem of finite-time chaos synchronization between two different uncertain chaotic systems with unknown parameters and input nonlinearities is investigated. It is assumed that both master and slave systems are perturbed by unknown model uncertainties, external disturbances, and fully unknown parameters. Proper update laws are proposed to estimate the systems’ unknown parameters. Based on the update laws and finite-time control technique, a robust adaptive controller is introduced to guarantee the convergence of the slave system trajectories to the trajectories of the master system in a given finite time. Two illustrative examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed finite-time controller and to validate the theoretical results of the paper.
