The Mediating Role of Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction Between Transformational Leadership and Work Motivation of Predoctoral Researchers at German Professorships

This study examines the relationship between predoctoral researchers’ perceptions of transformational leadership and their autonomous work motivation, with basic psychological need satisfaction (autonomy, relatedness, and competence) as a mediator. Based on the full range leadership model and self-determination theory, hypotheses are tested using an online survey (n=1,969) conducted from March to May 2022 among professors and their academic staff at German research universities in the fields of business administration, biology, mechanical engineering, and sociology. For the subsample of predoctoral researchers (n=1,005), the structural equation model reveals that transformational leadership increases autonomous work motivation through perceived autonomy and competence, whereas perceived relatedness has a negative effect. In addition, academic career aspirations positively influence autonomous work motivation, while gender has no significant effect. These findings highlight the role of transformational leadership in promoting basic psychological needs satisfaction among emerging scientists.

Research on Authentic Leadership in Türkiye: A Descriptive Content Analysis Study

This research aims to determine the trends in the studies on authentic leadership carried out between 2010 and 2022 in Türkiye. Descriptive content analysis, one of the systematic review types, was applied in the research. As a result of the reviews made based on the research criteria, 144 studies were obtained. The “Authentic Leadership Publication Classification Form” developed by the researcher was utilised as the data collection tool. Data was analysed using frequencies, percentages, tables and figures (graphs). As a result of the research, it was determined that the studies on authentic leadership were mainly single-author articles and written by male researchers. It was observed that theses on authentic leadership were mostly written at Hacettepe University and İstanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, while the articles were mostly published in the Journal of Academic Social Sciences and the Journal of Procedia-Social and Behavioural Sciences. It was determined that the highest number of studies on authentic leadership were carried out in 2019, the number of studies published in the Turkish language and the field of business administration was higher, and the most studied topics along with authentic leadership were psychological capital, organisational commitment, innovation, organisational citizenship and job satisfaction, respectively. It was also identified that the quantitative method and relational screening model were frequently applied in the research and that the participants mainly consisted of the employees of the companies and enterprises. The sampling method was not mentioned in most of the research, but the studies specifying the sampling method mostly benefited from the random and convenience sampling methods. Moreover, it was noticed that the studies were mostly conducted with varying numbers of participants, ranging from 201 to 300, using surveys and scales as the data collection tools and SPSS as the statistical software.

Literature Review on the Impact of Internal Management on Employee Performance in Enterprises

With the increasing competition among enterprises, the level of their own management and management ability largely determine their performance in business competition, and scholars in the field of business administration have long been concerned with this important issue. The main research question of this paper is how the internal management of enterprises affects the performance of employees. Firstly, this paper reviews the classical management theories; and then, it specifically analyses the impact of management tools such as enterprise training, salary management and welfare benefits on employee performance, and combines them with specific cases to analyse them, so that through the analysis of combining theory and practice, we can better promote the development and sustainable progress of enterprises.

How Does the Use of Artificial Intelligence Reflect on Business Administration and Management? A Perspective on Knowledge Production at the Postgraduate Level

Objectives: The extensive adoption of AI applications in many industries raises concerns over their potential to significantly transform employment in various aspects, including job creation, automation, and decision-making procedures. The impact that AI has on employment dynamics presents an array of obstacles and opportunities for the fields of business administration and management. Given all these advancements, the present study conducts a thorough examination of postgraduate theses, recognizing them as a systematic representation of the expanding influence of AI in the fields of business administration and management. Postgraduate research, which entails a thorough academic investigation, provides a crucial perspective for understanding the present condition and future course of AI use in business environments. Through an in-depth examination of postgraduate theses, this research attempts to reveal trends in the application of AI technologies in various organizational contexts. Design/methodology/approach: The 73 master's and doctoral theses used in this study were obtained from the repository of the Council of Higher Education National Thesis Center. The sample spans a range of institutions, demonstrating the diversity and depth of AI research across the academic landscape of management studies. To comprehensively examine and understand the information categories encompassed in these theses, the research utilizes two techniques: document analysis and descriptive content analysis. Document analysis systematically examines the theses as data sources, enabling a thorough investigation of the material that focuses on the identification, assessment, and synthesis of information pertaining to AI in business administration and management. Descriptive content analysis classifies and facilitates a methodical examination of the data. The distribution of theses subjected to document analysis was based on thesis type, universities and sub-disciplines, publication year and language, sample characteristics, methodology, theories, AI application areas, and keywords. Results: The findings show that studies on AI have gained momentum in the last four years, with a high percentage of theses focusing on management, organization, and marketing. The quantitative research method has been the most preferred for postgraduate theses. Additionally, human resource management, machine learning, and artificial neural networks constitute most of the research focus. The data indicates that most master's theses concentrate on human resource management and marketing. The finance and information technology sectors are predominant in terms of industry focus. Practical implications: The findings have the potential to significantly assist practitioners in understanding the ongoing research on AI, enabling them to align their strategic planning with the latest discoveries and approaches in higher education. The prevalence of machine learning and artificial neural networks signifies an inclination towards increasingly complex AI implementations within organizations. Organizations may leverage this understanding to increase innovation, enhance decision-making procedures, and sustain a competitive advantage through the implementation of cutting-edge AI. Furthermore, this study can assist researchers, such as master's and doctoral students, with the topic, research question, data source, data collection tool, and analysis type selection in future studies. Originality/value: The study is expected to provide insights into research focus, scope, and methodology for future research by revealing the current state of AI research in business administration and management domains in Turkey. Through the examination of postgraduate theses, this study not only highlights the increasing academic attention towards AI but also establishes a foundation upon which subsequent research can be built. This study represents an initial effort to gain deeper insights into AI research in Turkey, specifically focusing on knowledge production within universities.

The effect of Human Resource Management on employee Performance – A Systematic Literature Review

Purpose – Human resources management is considered the heartbeat of organizations and institutions in the field of business administration in particular. Good management ensures the retention of employees who are creative and skilled. This affects the organization’s productivity, profits, and competitive position in the market. Aims – This paper aims to develop a suitable systematic review on the research literature that has been undertaken to investigate how on human resource management influences employee performance within an organization. Growth in employee performance, through good management and its practices is an important factor that affects the organization and its production. Design/methodology/approach – This systematic literature review, analysed publications and articles published over the past two decades (2005–2023) on the human resources management in Northern Cyprus. Based on the comprehensive research analysis of 18 articles, employees are motivated to perform effectively through commitment, loyalty, discipline, innovation and self-learning. Their performance has been thoroughly investigated in numerous research papers. Findings – All hypotheses were supported by data collected from 18 research papers that showed that human resources management works to improve employee roles and job performance and human resources management is considered a means to enhance the relationship with employees and develop them. Limitations of the study – The research is limited to studies on human resources management that were done in Northern Cyprus. Originality/value – This systematic review of literature is significant because it presents insights on the importance of human resources management in the realms of an organisation.

I strive to promote a deeper understanding of business practices and foster the development of strategies that can lead to improved organizational performance and economic growth. The model of future philologists linguistic professional training for foreign language communication in the field of speechwriting and business administration

Introduction. The process of globalization covers all spheres of life of the modern society. The volume of intercultural communication is significantly increasing. The number of business contacts between various industrial enterprises is growing. Due to the fact that the international partnership requires coordination and communication planning, the tasks of training specialists competent in the field of business communication, including foreign-language ones, are updated. One needs appropriate training for mastering the skills to formulate one’s idea correctly, to express it clearly and briefly, including the choice of the appropriate tone and format, the language units. You should also master the skills to analyze the received information, interpret the meaning and relevance. Knowledge, skills of foreign-language business communication is an important professional quality that is necessary for specialists involved in speechwriting and business administration. The purpose of the study is to present a projected model for training students in the field of Philology, whose profile is Speechwriting Business Administration for the implementation of business foreign language communication. There is a revealed contradiction between the insufficient development of theoretical and methodological grounds for the formation of the universal competence in the field of business foreign-language communication of the future bachelor in the field of speechwriting and business administration, on the one hand, and a social order for a competent bachelor of this profile, on the other hand. It conditioned the relevance of the study on planning the model of linguistic training, which allows future bachelors in the field of speechwriting and business administration to master successfully the universal competencies, primarily in the field of foreign-language business communication. In this we see the relevance of the study. Materials and methods. The regulatory documentation, scientific literature of domestic and foreign scientists on the problem of the research was studied and analyzed. The methodological foundations of the study are a set of approaches: competent, system-activity, communicative, professional-oriented. In the work we use theoretical research methods – analysis (the analysis of scientific literature and basic pedagogical concepts), synthesis, generalization, modeling. Study results. The study conducted by the authors made it possible to design a model of future bachelors, foreignlanguage and linguo-professional training in the field of speechwriting and business administration. It is aimed at mastering the universal competence in the process of studying a foreign language. The characteristics of the main structural blocks of the model (target, theoretical and methodological, meaningful, technological, diagnostic and effective) are presented. Conclusion. The further direction of the study was determined: the identification of the effectiveness of the developed model in the process of experimental training of future bachelors in the field of Philology, whose profile is Speechwriting and Business Administration.

SDGs in master’s theses: a study of a Finnish University of Applied Sciences

PurposeHigher educational institutions, such as universities of applied sciences, have a significant role in promoting progress towards a sustainable future as defined by the United Nations (UN) sustainable development goals (SDGs). This paper aims to identify how the UN SDGs are featured in master’s theses set in work–life contexts.Design/methodology/approachUsing a descriptive review and content analysis, this study identified the number of SDGs appearing in 31 master’s theses. Sustainable development (SD) and corporate social responsibility were reflected using the approaches and models in the literature. Finland’s eight objectives for committing to SD were used to examine the commitments made by the business school of the university of applied sciences to achieve Agenda 2030.FindingsEmphasising the value of higher education for SD, this study found that SDGs three, eight and 12 appeared most frequently in the theses. Sustainable and responsible dimensions reflected several issues concerning both the worlds of business and industry among the firms and organisations investigated by the master’s degree students in the business school at the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences.Practical implicationsThis research holds practical and pedagogical value, serving to encourage master’s and PhD students to further explore research on SDGs and to shape public policy.Originality/valueSustainability was looked at in a new way as investigated by the theses. Ways to integrate the SDGs into management degree programmes and conduct research in the fields of business administration, tourism and hospitality management were identified.

Mapping digital competencies in the business domain – an empirical workplace analysis using job advertisements

The rapid development of digital technologies has revolutionized the way companies operate and conduct business. Organizations now require higher attention paid to digital competencies to leverage the usage of digital tools and platforms effectively, optimize processes, reach customers and stay ahead of competition. This study examines how digital competencies have changed in the field of business administration to identify essential skills and knowledge required in today’s corporational landscape. Text mining is used to extract digital skills from a vast dataset of 25,000 job advertisements in the business administration field. The resulting empirical data is analysed to derive profiles outlining the development of digital competencies in the business administration field. The study reveals two specific digital competencies in high demand: analytical evaluation utilizing various software tools and communication via social media. Competence requirements from the labour market can indicate the design of study programmes and the adaptation of teaching methods.

The naming and use of concepts belonging to a branch of science in different ways causes various controversies and confusion. These differences, which are also observed in the field of linguistics, are large enough to go down even to the secondary education level. However, the existence of a branch of science is made possible by determining its basic concepts and ensuring its continuous continuity. This becomes even more important when it comes to social sciences, because the concepts that point to the fields of study of the branch of science in question and the terms that express them as a language provide information about the process of becoming a scientist. In this sense, the concepts used in educational sciences and in the field of educational management also give clues about when and how these fields started to become scientific. The number of concepts that are still in use is not the same as the period when the field appeared. In order to sort out the basic concepts of educational management, it is necessary to express the basic problems of the field. In this sense, it is possible to specify the concepts that stand out as the basic concepts of educational philosophy in the form of the concept of education, learning, teaching, discipline, equal opportunities and the right of the child. There are many concepts used in educational processes, educational sciences and management. However, some of these concepts are basic concepts that reflect the characteristics of that area. In this context, the basic concepts of education can be listed as education, management, organization, system, educational management, non-formal education, formal education, coordination, power, supervision, leadership, discipline, school management, cascading of education, managerial power, authority, responsibility, task, competence, organizational effectiveness, efficiency, evaluation, communication and competence. This is a proof that education has to be in relation to other disciplines in terms of basic concepts. It is even possible to state that a large part of the concepts used in the field are taken from the fields of management and business administration. As the characteristics of the school, which is a kind of organization, and the nature of education as a process change, the characteristics of educational management also change. For this reason, the basic concepts used in the field may also change. Because not every age's expectations from education may be the same. Forecasting Order Delays with Artificial Intelligence-Based Applications

The digitalization trend in the world in the last two decades has begun to transform business processes. Departing from the traditional business approach, the use of technology in every field has changed business processes and, accordingly, the approach of managers. On the other hand, cloud computing, the internet of things, sensors and instant notification systems through these components brought by the last industrial revolution have transformed supply chains into a smart structure. Now, the information that a product sold by a retailer, which is the last link of a supply chain, is out of stock is transmitted to the raw material supplier in the first link of the chain. In this way, a perfect supply chain structure is formed and operations are carried out in lean working principles. The products prepared according to the reduction of the retailer's stocks are continuously supplied, which shows flawless operation. On the other hand, through digital components such as sensors and the Internet of Things, each step in workflows is instantly converted into data and stored in virtual environments called cloud computing. At this point, besides the problem of data storage and security, the main problem is to process the data in a meaningful way. Analyzing big data generated by AI-based components and systems is also possible with AI-based systems. Methods called machine learning have been developed for this situation and their application area is increasing day by day. In the light of this information, within the scope of the study, forecasts of order quantity delays for future periods using historical order data from customers for the products produced by an enterprise were analyzed using machine learning algorithms. The results of the analysis made through the Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Studio platform will contribute to the use of digital tools in the sector as well as increasing the application examples of machine learning. According to the results obtained as a result of the analyzes, recommendations were developed for the enterprise. Finally, suggestions for the application of machine learning in the field of business administration are presented.

먹는 샘물에 관한 연구동향 분석

The purpose of this study was to analyze the research trends related to drinking spring water and bottled water in this study and to suggest an expanded interpretation and direction for future research. 695 papers to be analyzed were collected by the Academic Research Information Service (RISS) with the keywords of drinking spring water and bottled water, and 117 final analysis papers were selected. For this, the publication status, research field, and research topic of drinking spring water research by year were analyzed. As a result of analyzing the research trend, it was confirmed that the number of publications of papers on drinking spring water research has gradually increased since the 2010s. The mainly studied fields were divided into business administration, chemistry, and environmental fields, and as a result of confirming the topics by research field, the most frequently addressed in the business administration field was mainly research on the effect of factors such as the selection attribute of drinking spring water and brand image on purchasing behavior. In this chemical field, research was mainly conducted on the characteristics of groundwater, changes in the microbiological quality of drinking spring water, and changes in the quality of drinking spring water, and in the environmental field, topics such as the improvement of the permitted intake of drinking spring water and the development and conservation of groundwater resources were dominated.

ANALYZING THE BIBLIOMETRIC LANDSCAPE OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTS

Digital transformation entails technological shifts, cultural shifts, and alterations in the manner organizations operate and deliver value, necessitating a rethink of organizational strategies and the undertaking of new risks. These changes occur and are needed across various sectors of society. Project management assists in altering the dynamics of organizations, enabling the implementation of new technologies, innovations, and transformations. This article aims to analyze the existing relationship between digital transformation and project management, and to identify the trends of this topic in the literature. The study employs bibliometric analysis to verify the existing relationship and to identify the most explored elements within the topic. The research was confined to the utilization of the Scopus database for data retrieval, wherein 245 articles were found, distributed between the years 2008 and 2020. Through bibliometric pairing, eight factors were identified (Change, Technologies, Strategy, Processes, People, Model, Autonomous Systems, and Artificial Intelligence), confirming the breadth of the topic, its relevance, and the main themes addressed. The findings indicate that the fields of engineering, computer science, and business administration encompass the majority of the studies, enabling scholars to comprehend the contemporary nature of the issues discussed and the trends for future studies.

Analysis of the Problems in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education for Business Administration Majors

In recent years, China has been vigorously promoting independent entrepreneurship among college students. In order to cultivate more innovative and entrepreneurial talents, a plan combining theory and practice has been proposed to avoid overly written education. This article mainly studies the current situation of innovation and entrepreneurship education in the field of business administration, as well as the focus of teaching and education. Based on a survey of the entrepreneurial situation of business administration students, suggestions are proposed to build a professional oriented innovation and entrepreneurship education model, hoping to better solve the path problem of innovation and entrepreneurship education in the field of business administration.

Construction and Application of a Complex Network-Based Case Knowledge Base in an Assisted Instruction System

With the development of the business administration major, case teaching has become an effective teaching method. However, a lot of case resources exist in the business administration field, and the correlation between these cases is complex, which poses challenges to teachers and students in terms of information overload and knowledge organization. Existing case knowledge bases in assisted instruction systems often have shortcomings in terms of knowledge relationship strength calculation, text semantic similarity calculation, hierarchical knowledge clustering, and propagation evolution. To solve these problems, this study proposed a method of constructing and applying a case knowledge base in an assisted instruction system based on a complex network. This method mainly includes three aspects: calculation and reasoning of ontology relationship strength, calculation of ontology text semantic similarity, and hierarchical knowledge clustering and propagation evolution in complex networks. Through a comprehensive study of these three aspects, a more efficient and intelligent case knowledge base in an assisted instruction system was constructed, which not only improved the teaching efficiency and quality of the business administration major but also had the potential to promote teaching in other disciplines and fields. In addition, this study also provided new perspectives and methods in related fields, which is of great significance for efficiently organizing and utilizing knowledge.

Multi-Level Text Clustering in Subject Knowledge Library and its Visualization

The large-scale and complex data generated in the teaching field of business administration poses challenges for decision-makers and managers of companies, and how to effectively extract and manage the useful information contained in these data has become a problem to be solved. Currently available methods of subject knowledge library clustering and visualization struggle to handle the complexity and multi-hierarchies of such subject data effectively or meet users’ requirements for advanced semantic understanding and retrieval. In view of these matters, this study aims to probe deeper into the problem of multi-level text clustering in the subject knowledge library and its visualization. Firstly, an innovative strategy-based subject semantic representation method for knowledge libraries was proposed to better interpret and represent the semantic information of subject data. Secondly, a subject clustering model of the knowledge library was constructed based on an improved hierarchical Dirichlet polynomial distribution, enabling efficient and accurate clustering of subject data. Lastly, visualization technology was employed to display the cluster results, allowing users to gain a clear understanding of the internal relationships and structure of the subject data. The research findings of this study could provide valuable new tools and methods for solving the problem of subject knowledge library management and utilization, analyzing the subject data, and supporting decision-making. As a result, they hold both theoretical and practical significance.

토픽모델링을 이용한 ESG 연구현황 분석

[Purpose]The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends of ESG research in Korea, focusing on the fields of business administration and accounting, using topic modeling.
 [Methodology]This study focuses on the keyword ‘ESG’ published in domestic academic journals. To this end, as of June 30, 2023, a total of 404 studies of business administration and accounting studies calculated with ‘ESG’ as a search term in the Korea Citation Index are the subject of research. Specifically, morpheme analysis was performed using R, keyword frequency analysis was performed, and frequency analysis and Big-data analysis(data mining, topic modeling) were performed through the extracted keywords.
 [Findings]As a result of this study, five topics were calculated. Specifically, Topic 1 is the role of the environment for management sustainability, Topic 2 is Implications for enhancing corporate value, Topic 3 is Strategy according to economic conditions, Topic 4 is Decision-making at the governance level, Topic 5 is Evaluation and utilization It is a responsibility.
 [Implications]This study is different in that it analyzes research trends using the big data analysis method with the keyword ‘ESG’ limited to business administration and accounting among social sciences. In the meantime, many studies have been conducted in business administration and accounting, but there are not many studies that apply big data methods such as topic modeling. This study has significance in that it goes one step further from the existing research methodology, reduces the subjective opinions of researchers, and identifies macroscopic research trends based on a lot of data through the Big-data methodology.

EVALUATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROPERTY ADMINISTRATION POLICIES

The government's success in effectively managing its operations is closely tied to the outcomes of the policies it implements. Law Number 23 of 2014 aims to expedite the enhancement of societal well-being by bettering services, promoting empowerment and community involvement, and enhancing regional competitiveness. This is done while upholding democratic principles, fairness, justice, regional distinctiveness, as well as the efficiency and effectiveness of regional governance. Enhancing the relationship between central and regional governments, acknowledging the diverse potentials of various regions, and addressing competitive opportunities and challenges can further refine regional government administration. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, focusing on capturing current, genuine, and practical phenomena. Among the pivotal components of effective governance and public service lies the proper management and responsible oversight of regional assets. Many assets are owned by a region, sometimes in terms of administration, they receive less attention in the field of business administration, which is a must for state administrators to realize good and clean governance.

Preface Proceedings ICBE-HOU 2022

This Conference Proceedings’ volume includes 15 articles selected among 75 papers submitted to the Eighth ICBE - HOU, which was successfully held on June 17-18, 2022. We followed a double-blind peer review process for the submitted papers, in which reviewers were either members of the Scientific Committee or external ones. With this second volume, the Conference maintains its commitment to encourage and promote high-quality works in the field of Business Administration by providing Open Access publishing.

Analysis of Crisis Leadership Research Trends Using Text Mining: Focusing on Business Administration

This study was to analyze research trends in the field of business administration by applying text mining techniques. In particular, the 2008 global financial crisis caused many management difficulties for companies. It was intended to consider how these events were reflected in research trends. This study performed 'frequency analysis', 'TF-IDF analysis', and 'topic analysis' among the text mining techniques. First, before and after the global crisis, “management” and “leadership” were ranked top tier. Also 'leadership' and 'management' belonged to the top tier in the total period. Second, the most noticeable word was 'safety' before 2008. And 'integration' is the top priority after 2008. Thus, it was found that the business administration field dealt with 'integration' and 'decision making' meaningfully after 2008. Third, we found a paper that corresponds to the gamma value by topics. Key words explain these papers well. In this way, the meaning of extracted words was analyzed by applying text mining techniques, and research trends in the field of business administration were examined through this. In addition, words that appear important and words with special meanings were analyzed by comparing around 2008.
