SKIN HEALTH PARAMETER MONITORING SYSTEM

Skin conditions, influenced by both internal bodily factors and external environmental elements, affect millions worldwide. Among these, environmental factors play a vital role, impacting skin health in many ways. In response to this issue, the prototype system provides real-time data on environmental parameters crucial for skin wellness. It integrates sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, UV radiation, and skin moisture, all connected to a microcontroller. This data is displayed on an LCD screen and transmitted to a website and mobile application (APK). Users receive alerts when sensor readings exceed predefined thresholds, suggesting necessary precautions. Additionally, the system features an IP webcam for capturing skin images, which are analysed to provide insights and skincare recommendations. This innovative approach bridges the gap between environmental factors and skin health, promoting proactive measures against environmental stressors. By providing real-time data and actionable insights, the prototype empowers users to make informed decisions about their skincare regimen. The system represents a significant advancement in skincare technology, offering comprehensive monitoring and management of environmental conditions and skin health. With its real-time functionality, recommendations, and proactive alerts, the system has the potential to greatly enhance users’ skincare routines and overall skin health. Xanthomas in A Warehouse Worker: A Case Report

Background: Xanthomas are visible external lump that appears on the body. Xanthomas are not tumors, instead, they are collections of foam cells that develop within the skin’s connective tissue, tendons and layers beneath the skin. These formations are significant indicators of disorders in lipid metabolism and are frequently seen in individuals with hypercholesterolemia. This case report describes the case of a male patient who worked in a warehouse with xanthomas and analyzes the relationship between his disease and work.Case Presentation: A 38-year-old man presented at a referral hospital in August 2023 with multiple yellowish elevated masses over the palm of the hands, sole and over the dorsum of the foot. The size of the masses varied between 0.5×0.5×0.5 cm (over the palm of the hands and sole), 1,5x1,5x0,5 cm and 2x1,5x1 cm(over dorsum of the foot) (Figure 1). The patient is accustomed to consuming fatty foods, coffee and alcohol. The patient presented with an elevated level of cholesterol and triglycerides. The patient had symptoms of discomfort and pain,which were due to the large size of the masses.The patient worked in a warehouse and encountered numerous potential hazards. Upon further examination, the patient was diagnosed with xanthomas. Excisional biopsy were performed to remove the massive xanthomas from the palm, sole and dorsum of the foot.Discussion: The process of confirming an occupational illness necessitates following a seven-step method, which considers factors such as clinical diagnosis, individual, and other exposures outside of work. However, in this instance, no work-related, personal, or external environmental elements linked to xanthomas were identified.Conclusion: There is no substantial evidence that occupational exposures as a warehouse worker cause or exacerbate the patient’s diagnosis of xanthomas. Very high cholesterol and triglycerides remain the main contributing factors to the diagnosis.

Understanding Human Resource Management in the Context of Internal and External Environment of Organizations

Based on an examination of the dynamically changing global market, the primary objective of this research project is to investigate the influence of both internal and external environmental elements on the human resource management and strategy employed by businesses. This study investigates in depth the issues that Human Resource Management (HRM) faces and covers the necessity of corporate social responsibility, fundamental corporate values, balancing and accommodating the expectations of diverse stakeholders, balancing the requirements of employees, and enhancing organizational performance when assessing the influence of the internal and external environment for the purpose of executing an effective HRM strategy. The research also showed that HRM has to develop effective and transparent communication and information channels beginning with top management, promote corporate inclusivity and openness from the standpoint of job variety, and construct a fair management structure in order to effectively manage employees. It is concluded that developing an effective human resource management system is vital to the success of any organization.

A study on the classification of ancient glassware based on unsupervised learning

In the process of weathering, ancient glass objects have changed their composition ratio due to the large exchange of internal elements with external environmental elements, which affects the correct judgment of their categories. This paper establishes a relevant model for the classification and research of glass artifacts. The relationship between the surface weathering of these glass artifacts and the type, decoration, and color of the glass is analyzed; the statistical pattern of the content of chemical components with and without weathering on the surface of the artifacts is analyzed in conjunction with the type of glass, and the content of their chemical components before weathering is predicted based on the data of the weathering points. To study the classification pattern of high potassium glass and lead-barium glass; to select the appropriate chemical composition for each category for sub-category classification, to give specific division methods and division results, and to analyze the reasonableness and sensitivity of the classification results. Identify the categories to which unknown categories of glass artifacts belong, and analyze the sensitivity of the classification results. To analyze the correlations between the chemical components of glass artifact samples of different categories and compare the differences in the correlations between the chemical component contents of different categories.

The street space of the external environment can have a direct effect on attracting pedestrians into the interior in the indoor architectural environment. The purpose of this study is to extract images that can give the identity of commercial streets, analyze pedestrian-based pedestrian environment analysis, and analyze of the exterior environment. Street space analysis items were established through previous studies. The survey was conducted based on the analysis frame based on pedestrian, limited space within 500M of Seongsu-dong Yeonmujang-gil, and the analysis method qualitatively evaluated and described items derived from each analysis table. The results of the study are as follows. First, The narrow street space centered on pedestrians can have a higher impact on pedestrians than the road where the wide roadway travels. Second, The image of the street space from the perspective of a pedestrian can be extracted and provided as visual basic data considering pedestrians when designing based on the street space. Third, The environment of pedestrians showed high satisfaction, and accessibility and convenience were measured to be high satisfaction, but comfort, stability, and environment were measured to be low. Fourth, As a result of evaluating the external environmental elements of architecture through diagrams, commercial elements for each space for pedestrians were blocked. This study can contribute the foundation for a pedestrian-centered pedestrian-friendly environment, which is the basis for designing commercial spaces in street spaces in the future.

Study on Composition Analysis and Identification of Ancient Glass Products

Affected by the weathering process, the internal elements in ancient glass will be exchanged with the external environmental elements, resulting in a change in the proportion of chemical components, but there will be a certain correlation between the exchange of elements. In this paper, a mathematical model for component analysis and prediction using the K-means clustering model and BP neural network is established.

SYSTEMATIZATION OF EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT ELEMENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The current scientific and methodological approaches to structuring the factors of the external environment of organizations, including higher education institutions, are examined in the given article. There have been created four specifications for each of the selected levels (micro-, macro-, meso- and mega-environment), utilizing the system-structural analysis and generalization of the approaches proposed in the scientific literature to the external environment elements system formation. All of them are designed for higher education institutions. Each of the specifications includes the maximum possible set of ordered elements, which at the microenvironment level are represented by entities combined into homogeneous groups, and at all other levels are represented by factors. Factors are distributed at each environment level between seven areas (regulatory, economic, demographic, scientific and technical, political, socio-cultural, and environmental). The need to separate normative-legal and demographic factors because they influence higher education institutions has been substantiated. The composition of scientific and technical factors is specified and their grouping is proposed. The specifications are considered as reference, which, acting as a basic (benchmark) system for practical work to determine the basic elements from which each higher education institution can select the necessary elements according to their tasks and functional features. The elements of the external environment at any level can be detailed, integrated and regrouped. At all levels of the environment within each area, the factors are arranged according to a single principle, as a result of which all specifications in each area contain identical factors.

Theoretical model for mental health management of project management practitioners in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) project organizations

PurposeThis conceptual paper aims to develop a multi-level mental health management framework for project management practitioners (PMPs) in architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) project organizations through organizational design theories to extend current knowledge on mental health by revealing organizational, project and external environmental factors contributing to mental health management in AEC project organizations.Design/methodology/approachA systematic literature review was adopted to propose a theoretical model that integrated five organizational design theories: institutional theory, agency theory, resources-based theory (RBT), contingency theory and complexity theory.FindingsThe model reveals permanent organization, project organization and external environment factors for mental health management in AEC project organizations. It further proposed hypothetical interrelationships between elements of permanent organization, project organization, external environment and mental health management indicators to unravel the resultant effects of the interactions on mental health of PMPs.Originality/valueThis research contributes to the body of knowledge by developing a multi-level mental health management framework that identify and shows how combination permanent organization, project organization and external environment elements impact mental health of PMPs in AEC project organizations. It offers a model that offers guidance to practitioners on permanent organization and project organization management practices that can be implemented to improve mental health.

Globalization Impacts on The Structure of Ukraine's Economy: Innovations Challenges for Management in Digitalization, Social and Economic Transformations

Globalization is one of the important elements of external environment of the enterprises, that is why it is defined to be the main object of this study. The main signs of globalization in international trade and the qualitative / quantitative changes caused are studied, in particular, attention is paid to the mutual exchange of resources to solve international problems, including environmental ones. The transformation of competitive / monopoly relations under the influence of globalization in the areas of levels of cooperation, the ratio of competition / rivalry, the dependence of competition on innovation, models of competitive behavior are analyzed. The impact of globalization on economic processes of influences redistribution in the markets between residents and nonresidents is investigated, the factors that cause changes in investment activity of nonresidents are identified, namely the direct relationship between changes in the index of economic globalization and the number of foreign enterprises in Ukraine. Based on the research, the identified exogenous factors are complemented by such factors as protection of intellectual property rights and prevention of abuse of intellectual property rights, and endogenous - as a relationship of decisive influence on businesses in specific markets, management awareness of the impact of their transactions on the market and others. It is concluded that globalization does not take into account the national characteristics of individual economies, the resource potential of development, but involves the use of existing benefits, respectively, those who want to become part of it must acquire certain exclusivity, disseminate relevant information, introduce innovation in enterprise management systems, show interest in cooperation with the relevant participant for the development of digitalization, social and economic transformations.

Three decades of post-Soviet period: analyses of outbound tourism development patterns and environment in Latvia

After regaining independence, the borders were opened for Latvian residents, and they had the possibility to leave behind the travel or non-travel principles of the Soviet Union period, as well as go into the global tourism market. Post-Soviet transformation that was seen in different sectors, including the change in tourism and travel habits, which happened slowly. Since every decade of these three post-Soviet decades has its own development characteristics and is impacted by different external environment elements, the aim of this study is to analyse the tendencies of each decade and its most impactful external environment factors in Latvia. Even though the impact of the economic environment has always been meaningful in tourism, the main factor that impacted the first post-Soviet decade was without doubt the political environment. With the start of the 21st century and the improvement of the economic situation, world’s technological achievements enter Latvia’s tourism industry. Different sociocultural factors highlight different outbound tourism tendencies in each decade. Travel habits of Latvian residents have changed over time – values and expectations have changed for travelling abroad. As expectations and knowledge increase, Latvian travellers join the tendencies and travel habits of the collective European travellers.

Strategic supply chains: a configurational perspective

PurposeDrawing on configuration theory and adopting a holistic perspective, the authors aim to explore strategic supply chain elements' interaction with internal and external contextual conditions. Specifically, they evaluate multivariate co-alignment of supply chain's capabilities (agility, adaptability, alignment), adhocracy organizational structure and environmental uncertainty (dynamism, munificence and complexity) that lead to superior performance outcomes (supply chain cycle time, financial performance, market performance).Design/methodology/approachA survey research design is adopted to collect primary and secondary data from 182 international firms. Cluster analysis and profile deviation techniques are employed first to derive a taxonomy of strategic supply chains and then examine multivariate co-alignment.FindingsThe analysis reveals that four groups of triple-A supply chains could emerge. It is found that strategic supply chains exhibit a flexible/organic/fluid organizational structure and a high level of triple-As in their processes. These supply chains perform superior to a higher level of environmental complexity, munificence and dynamism.Practical implicationsThis study's results provide insights for practitioners by informing their investment decisions for developing strategic supply chains. Specifically, this research highlights the contextuality of triple-A supply chains and offers best practices to capitalize on strategic supply chains.Originality/valueExecutives in organizations require a holistic understanding of various elements to ensure that the organizational system as a whole performs effectively. This research offers insights into the interdependencies of triple-A supply chains with other organizational and external environmental elements. Noteworthy implications for scholarship in operations/supply chain management and supply chain practitioners are presented.

Double‐skin house

AbstractIn this study, a project, which challenges the possibility of renovating wooden houses that are considered as valueless, is conducted. A 30‐year‐old used wooden house was cut in the middle and relocated by rotating the ridge on one side by 90° to secure two parking lots in parallel direction. A new façade with a depth of 45 cm, (termed as, "DOUBLE‐SKIN") was attached to control the line of sight from the exterior while incorporating the external environmental elements such as light and wind. This bold renovation increased the economic value of the used house and simultaneously reconstructed the relationship between the existing house and external environment.

The concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises

Purpose. The aim of the article is to substantiate the concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises in Ukraine. Methodology of research. General and special methods are used in the course of the research, in particular methods: dialectics and scientific abstraction – in determining the essence of the concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises and its components; graphic – to depict the constituent elements of the concept in the relationship; monographic – to describe the concept, its ideas and provisions. Findings. The essence of the concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises as the generalized understanding of separate processes which comprehensively characterizes it and promotes achievement of the purposes or the decision of problems is defined. The constituent concepts are established, in particular: the purpose, principles and features of activity, and also functions, methods and tools by means of which the set purposes are reached. Emphasis is placed on the dependence of the management of innovative development of the enterprise on environmental factors that directly and indirectly determine the supply and demand for innovation in the field of energy services. A schematic representation of the concept is given. The essence and significance of each constituent element of the concept are detailed; the elements of the innovation management system are emphasized separately. The directions and tools of integration of innovative development into all subsystems of the enterprise are substantiated. The urgency of increasing the level of innovative development of energy service enterprises through the introduction of the latest developments is substantiated. Some innovative solutions to which energy service enterprises should pay attention are characterized. Originality. The understanding of the concept of management of innovative development of energy service enterprises is systematized, and also elements of external environment and system of management of innovative development are structured in detail. In contrast to existing developments, the proposed concept more clearly and comprehensively substantiates the theoretical foundations of integration of innovative development into all management subsystems, as well as systematizes the impact of external factors on the innovative development of energy enterprises. Practical value. The proposed concept forms a theoretical and methodological basis for improving the management system of innovative development of energy service enterprises and ensuring the growth of the level of innovative services to improve energy efficiency. Elements influencing the success of Human Resource Information System

Purpose: Due to the upgrade of technology, it has swapped the methods of controlling human beings in companies. In this context, finding the elements influencing the success of the HRIS in ABC manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd was the current research motive. Research methodology: The study design was deductive and quantitative. Moreover, primary data with Scale questionnaire was utilized for data gathering. 30 executives were selected in ABC manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd have directly dealt with the HRI System. Further, data analysis did through regression analysis. Results: The results confirmed that the success of HRIS was significantly impacted by the internal environmental elements and the external environmental elements. Also, found that internal environmental factors have the highest influence on the success of HRIS compared with the rest. Limitations: The respondents chosen for the study were 30 in one single company. Instead, the researcher selected two determinants only. Contribution: The researcher is motivated through this study because electronic, personal applications are now highly concern in local companies. The research findings can apply to organizations in third-world profiles to boost their HRI systems' efficacy. The fire recognition algorithm using dynamic feature fusion and IV-SVM classifier

For existed problems on fire detection fields, the traditional recognition methods on fire usually based on sensor’s signals are easily affected by the external environment elements. Meanwhile, most of the current methods based on feature extraction of fire image are less discriminative to different scene and fire type, and have lower recognition precision if the fire scene and type change. To overcome the drawback on fire recognition, the new fast recognition method for fire image has proposed by introducing color space information into Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm. Firstly, the feature descriptors of fire are extracted by SIFT algorithm from the fire images which are obtained from internet databases. Secondly, the local noisy feature points are filtered by introducing the feature information of fire color space. Thirdly, the feature descriptors are transformed into feature vectors, and then Incremental Vector Support Vector Machine classifier is utilized to establish the fast fire recognition model. The experiments are conducted on real-life fire image from internet. The experimental results had shown that for different fire scenes and types, the proposed algorithm has outperformed Kim’s method, Dimitropoulos’s method and Sumei’s method in terms of recognition accuracy and algorithm’s running speed. The proposed algorithm has better application prospects than Kim’s method, Dimitropoulos’s method and Sumei’s method.

The mathematical model of Forestry Felling & Cultivation Machine Transmission System describes the relationship between chassis transmission system and dynamic property by mathematical expression. Models reflect the relationships among the composing units of chassis transmission system, each units variable quantities and external environment elements. The mathematical model of Forestry Felling & Cultivation Machine Transmission System must be built before testing the performance of machine chassis through computer simulation. This paper mainly elaborates each composing unit of chassis dynamic transmission system and its mathematical models. Then, utilize MATLAB/ Simulink software to calculate and simulate its usability.

Investigation of Mall Atmosphere in Experiential Shopping During Holiday Season: A case of Malaysian Shopping Malls

This study examines the influence of environmental factors in a shopping mall on consumer behaviour especially during holiday season. Within a shopping mall there needs to be a balance of external environment elements that serves to elicit human stimuli to help induce different sensations and psychological effects on a person, ultimately leading to positive consumer behaviours and increased purchase intentions. However the wrong balance of these elements can hinder the positive reactions of consumers especially during the holiday season shopping where potentially sales are at the highest. This study employed a convenience sampling data collection method from 300 respondents in a selected shopping mall during the month of December 2013 to capture the consumer’s reaction to the mall’s atmosphere which were enhanced with festive decorations to help induce potential buying behaviour. Results were collated based on the analysis of four significant environmental variables which are interior settings, music, employee engagement and consumer density. The findings indicated that the effects of interior settings, music and employee engagement were found to be evident. Conversely, consumer density was found to elicit no effect on consumer behaviour. It was also noted that gender moderates the relationship between music and consumer behaviour. The implications of the results obtained are discussed along with the managerial implications, limitations and future research.

Interfunctional Coordination at Hi-Tech Firms

The paper is focused on the determination of new knowledge about interfunctional coordination. Interfunctional coordination was defined at the beginning of 90s. It is the coordination of all company activities leading to the increase of business performance. Interfunctional coordination is connected with market orientation. It is one of necessary principle of market orientation. It is not possible to use market orientation without interfunctional coordination. Market orientation is based on marketing conception. The first detailed studies were offered by Kohli and Jaworski (1990) and Narver and Slater (1990). Market orientation is described as a method helping to contribute better managing of a company by many researchers. A lot of papers on this topic were publicized during the last two decades. The earliest papers involved the first definitions of market orientation; offered methods for its measuring; and investigated the impact of market orientation on business performance. The last attitudes towards market orientation agree that market orientation enables managers to focus on external and internal elements and activities, which influence the activity of a company leading to its performance increase (Tomaskova, 2009). At present, we have a lot of methods used for the measuring of market orientation. Using a proper method depends on the branch or economic system. The perception of the implementation of market orientation is changing during the period, as well. However, the main principle is still the same – market orientation has a positive impact on business performance. Nowadays, a lot of authors deal with the implementation of market orientation. Because of this reason, we have prepared research “Research on implementation on market orientation in Hi-Tech Firms” (GA 402/07/1493). The goal of the research was to detect barriers of the implementation of market orientation. We divided the barriers of the implementation into three parts according to managers’ influence in an internal, branch and external environment. State, economy and technologies are named as the main elements of external environment. The main barriers connected with the elements of branch environment are quality and quantity of branch stakeholders. Barriers of internal environment involve the barriers connected with the top management and its personality, skills, knowledge and experiences, all employees of a company and interfunctional coordination. The paper deals with the interfunctional coordination at hi-tech firms. The objective of the paper is to define barriers connected with interfunctional coordination and to detect the perception and importance of interfunctional coordination at hi-tech firms. The theoretical knowledge is noticed in some research studies. The data was acquired by means of a questionnaire. New Method measured market orientation in a company. The questionnaire New Method with 7-point Likert scale constituted by Tomaskova (2005) was used for the research. The complete database was analysed by using standard statistical methods (correlation analysis, Spearman correlation coefficient, chi-square) as well as other sophisticated techniques (Cronbach alpha). The main results of the research show that the level of market orientation at the hi-tech firms in the Czech Republic is high and confirm how important is gaining information and using this information inside the company for market orientation. The main results of the research confirm that interfunctional coordination is the base of market orientation. Hi-tech firms in the Czech Republic perceive interfunctional coordination as very necessary presumption for their future development and prosperity. The highest rate for this part received the following statements confirming positive company attitude for innovation, preference for teamwork and mutual cooperation in firms and also effort to be flexible. Service innovation multi‐country launch: causes of delays

Little research has focussed on launch of service innovations across international markets. The determinants of timeliness (conversely, delays) in the launch of service innovations across multiple country markets has equally received little attention in the literature. This paper reports on the findings of an exploratory case‐based research investigation into service innovations launched by Cypriot financial institutions across three or more foreign country markets. The analysis shows that on‐time introduction of service innovations rely heavily on: service innovation synergies with existing operations; sufficiency of marketing resources; extensive use of “soft” integrating organizational mechanisms; and proficiency in the development process. External environmental elements, including market heterogeneity and extensive competition have a lesser impact on the timeliness of such multi‐country introductions. Several propositions are forwarded for further investigation.
