Analysis of Nike's Marketing Strategy Based on Adolescent Consumer Psychology

With the advent of the era of big data, social media platforms have led to tremendous changes in the consumption environment and habits of young consumers, and the marketing methods of enterprises have also been completely subverted. Among many sporting goods brand companies, Nike, as a leading company, has made full use of the rapidly developing information technology and implemented new marketing strategies through social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook to further strengthen its competitive advantage in the field of sporting goods. This paper uses the literature analysis method as the main research method, and combines the actual cases in the history of Nike to analyze and discuss the marketing strategy of Nike in the young consumer market. Through the analysis of psychological needs such as the satisfaction of personalization and self-expression, the construction of social status, the strengthening of brand loyalty, and the pursuit of trends and fashion, emphasis on product quality and performance, and exploration of personal identity and escapism, the author can better understand the needs and mentality of young consumers, so as to formulate effective marketing strategies and enhance Nike's competitiveness in the young consumer market. It is now concluded that advocating social justice causes, promoting environmental sustainability and emphasizing innovation, supporting young peoples creative exploration, etc., can improve Nikes marketing strategy, better meet the needs of young consumers, and build deeper relationships with them, ensuring Nikes long-term success in a highly competitive market.

Identity Development of Emerging Adults Revealing Negative Experiences of Their Parents

This qualitative investigation explored the identity development of emerging adults who revealed their parents’ negative experiences. Participants were 169 Chinese college students ( M = 19.83, SD = 1.19, 76.92% women) from southwest China. Thematic analysis of the data which were collected in December 2022 suggests that the participants revealed various parental negative experiences including hardships and poverty, failure and regrets, as well as family scandals and interpersonal conflicts. The participants strived to make meaning out of such experiences and looked into the future to make a difference based on their meaning-making capacities. Such a process leads to both personal identity exploration and family identity negotiation which become foundations for their future family narratives. We created a model of personal and family identity development to capture the process of identity development in revealing parental negative experiences. The findings of this study contribute to the scholarship on family narratives and identity development.

In this article, it is explored how the software SPSS is utilized as an analytical tool to investigate the impact of college life on an individual's self-esteem. Understanding this relationship is critical because college is a formative period in a person's life during which they go through many changes and transitions. Developmental stage, academic performance, social relationships, and body image and appearance are some of the key points highlighting the significance of the research. Globalization and identity development among emerging adults from Ladakh.

Around the world, the transformative power of globalization has increased intercultural connectivity, initiated sociocultural change, and broadened the possibilities for diverse life trajectories. These developments have increased the number of individuals within non-Western contexts who experience emerging adulthood as a developmental life stage between adolescence and adulthood. Central to this life stage is identity development, which has become increasingly challenging during times of rapid sociocultural change. The present study investigated the interplay among cultural orientation, personal identity development, and psychological well-being during the processes of globalization-based acculturation in the North Indian Himalayan region of Ladakh. A sample of 487 Ladakhi college students studying in Leh (72.9% female) and Delhi (48.0% female), ranging in age from 17 to 28 years, completed self-report questionnaires about cultural orientation, personal identity development, and psychological well-being. Local Ladakhi cultural endorsement was not directly associated with psychological well-being. Furthermore, both personal identity exploration and commitment appeared to mediate the relationship between cultural endorsement and psychological well-being. Endorsement of traditional Ladakhi and Indian cultural streams was related to identity commitment and indirectly to psychological well-being. Endorsement of the global Western cultural stream was associated with identity exploration and indirectly with psychological well-being. Supervising Students in Emerging Adulthood: Modeling Use of Self in Developmentally Informed Supervision

Supervisory models have historically assumed that trainees enter supervision with a degree of identity stability that informs their professional identity development. More recent theories of emerging adulthood suggest that instability of self is typical for young adults in their early to late twenties, a period when many social work students first enter a field in which one of the primary tools and values is “use of self.” I offer a new conceptualization for integrating understanding of the psychosocial and professional developmental theories. I review theories of modeling use of self in supervision for trainees who are simultaneously working to form multiple areas of personal and professional identity. There is limited literature in social work and psychology which examines the process of modeling use of self in supervision while also considering the developmental needs of emerging adults. A case example of a second-year student in emerging adulthood helps to elaborate the theory in consideration of personal identity exploration and the requirements of clinical work, personalization of perceived failures, and denial and avoidance in the supervisory dyad. Implications of this reconceptualization are discussed, including recommendations for developmentally responsive supervision.

Applying the Master Narrative Framework to Gender Identity Development in Emerging Adulthood

We applied a novel framework to identity development, capturing both content and process, and personal and cultural components of identity in the content domain of gender. We examined master (and alternative) narratives: ubiquitous, powerful cultural stories with which individuals negotiate in constructing personal identity. Study 1 was a quantitative investigation of personal narratives about gender ( n = 245); Study 2 was a qualitative study of discourse processes concerning gender roles ( n = 12). Employing three approaches to identity development (status, narrative, and discursive) in a mixed methods design, we found that most individuals position themselves around a newer, alternative narrative about gender equality. However, in social interactions, this narrative got less airtime, in favor of narratives representing either traditional views or gender equality. Further, those who were exploring their identities were more likely to employ the less traditional narrative, suggesting a link between changing master narratives and personal identity exploration.

Excerpt of the content: Jewish activist communities have historically been allies to communities of color in the fight for racial justice and equality in our country. Jews were among those who worked to establish the NAACP in 1909. In the early 1900s, Jewish newspapers drew parallels between the Black movement out of the South and the Jews' escape from Egypt, pointing out that both Blacks and Jews lived in ghettos, and calling anti-Black riots in the South "pogroms." Historically, Jewish leaders stressed the similarities rather than the differences between the Jewish and Black experience in America, and emphasized the idea that both groups would benefit the more America moved toward a society of merit, free of religious, ethnic, and racial restrictions. In more recent history, Blacks and Jews fought side by side in the Civil Rights Movement. The kinship and relationship between the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel has been regularly and continually celebrated. What has been less often discussed is the relevance of the social circumstances that created and, in some cases, still sustains a rift between Black activists and white Jewish anti-racism activists. In the late 1960s, the birth of the Black Power movement shifted the emphasis in Black activist communities toward self-determination, self-defense tactics, and racial pride. While this shift was crucial to the evolution of Black consciousness and identity in America, the expansion from the singular nonviolence and racial integration approach espoused by King left many white Jewish activists with little input in the Black community and an anti-racism movement that seemed to be moving on without them. Since the 1960s, efforts at coalition building and solidarity work for justice between white Jewish and Black communities have suffered and never reached the pinnacle that was reached during the early days of the Civil Rights Movement. The rapid decline of American anti-Semitism since 1945 (alongside the nation's continuing and pervasive anti-Black racism) and the increasing gap in accumulated wealth and education between Black and Jewish communities have widened the rift of perceived shared interests between Black and Jewish activists. Many of the civil rights struggles that joined Blacks and Jews in the middle of the last century--i.e., anti-lynching, desegregation, voter registration, etc.--were typically organized around divisions in society that easily identified injustices between persecutors and their victims (a division in which Jews could also identify as victims). Between the late 1960s and the present, much of the anti-racism work that has galvanized Black activists has shifted and come to be concerned more specifically with disparities in access, privilege, and power between those with and without white skin privilege in our country. Cyborg Identities and the Relational Web: Recasting ‘Narrative Identity’ in Moral and Political Theory

Current debates surrounding liberalism and communitarianism, modernity and postmodernity, ethical theory and narrative ethics fail to account for shifting foundations of personal identity in an increasingly computer‐mediated era of human communication. This paper aims to examine some of the conceptual assumptions about identity and community which are being radically undermined by rapidly evolving information networks and are therefore in need of redefinition. Additionally, I argue for an expansion of the literary imagination to include virtual, coauthored fiction sites where exploration of personal identity will bear upon future ethical and political decision‐making.

Substance and Mental Identity in Hume's Treatise

Hume's discussion of personal identity is generally regarded as an interesting failure. A good deal of the attention that it has received has been precisely because of this : it has been an obvious specimen for those wanting to practise the art of philosophical trouble-shooting. The diagnosis has varied widely: it is a failure that has its roots in Hume's atomism, or it turns out to be an inevitable product of this sort of scepticism; it is the outcome of an attempt to solve a false problem, or it is the absurd consequence of Hume's egocentric perspective. And, just as there is disagreement as to the respect in which Hume was mistaken, there is likewise no agreement about the depth of the trouble, with nearly anything from a number of obvious, but disastrous mistakes 1 to a Nemesis of confusion 2 being found in this brief exploration of personal identity. Hume, who was the initiator in this condemnation of his account, seems to have chosen with some foresight his characterization of it as a labyrinth .
