The Autism Program Environment Rating Scale in Swedish Primary School: Cultural Adaptation and Content Validation.

There is a recognized need to improve inclusive learning environments for autistic children in primary school settings in Sweden. This study aimed to translate, cross-culturally adapt, and assess the content validity of the Swedish primary school version of the Autism Program Environment Scale (APERS), originally developed to evaluate autism program quality in educational settings in the United States. Following the translation into Swedish and the first cultural adaptation of the APERS, a content panel group of 14 professionals rated its content validity. Four of the content panel members also participated in individual interviews that provided a qualitative evaluation of the instrument's content validity. Finally, the authors piloted the APERS in 10 Swedish primary school classrooms to assess its feasibility. The ratings and qualitative information from the content panel members indicated a substantial need for the Swedish APERS in primary school, resulting in the culturally adapted APERS-Primary-Sweden (SE). The instrument demonstrated a high level of cross-cultural content validity for assessing the quality of the learning environment for students with autism in Swedish primary school settings. The pilot testing of the instrument resulted in further cultural adaptations. In conclusion,APERS-Primary-SE is a comprehensive scale that can be used to assess the quality of primary school learning environments for children with autism in Sweden. Further research is needed to evaluate the adapted instrument's effectiveness in improving the learning environment in Swedish primary school classrooms.

Turkish validity and reliability study of the Baby-Led Weaning Scale

AimThe aim of this study was to test the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Baby-Led Weaning Scale for parents with babies/children aged from 6 to 30 months. MethodsThe sample for this methodological research consisted of parents with babies aged 6 to 30 months between March and June 2024 in a city in eastern Turkey. The data were collected from 354 parents for exploratory factor analysis, from 213 parents for confirmatory factor analysis, and from 70 for the test-retest reliability study. The data were collected using the “Descriptive Information Form”, the “Baby-Led Weaning Scale” and the “Transition to Complementary Feeding Behaviors Scale” (TCFBS). ResultsThe total content validity index score of the Baby Led Weaning Scale was 0.92 and the content validity rate score was 0.92. The TCBFS was used for the concordance of the scale with similar scales. During the measurements, the intra-observer reliability of the Baby Led Weaning Scale was statistically significant (p < 0.001). The Exploratory Factor Analysis revealed a three-factor structure, explaining 611.5 % of the variance. The fix index values were χ2/df = 3.036, RMSEA = 0.069, GFI = 0.902, CFI = 0.907 and AGFI = 0.857, IFI = 0.928, and TLI = 0.921.The Cronbach alpha values of the scale were in the range of 0.706 and 0.831. ConclusionAs a result, the Turkish adaptation of the Baby Led Weaning Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool. Practical implicationsThe Baby-Led Weaning Scale can be used as a simple and objective tool to measure the knowledge level of parents with babies/children aged 6 to 30 months.

Developing the quality of life in pregnancy scale (PREG-QOL)

AimThis study aims to develop the Quality of Life in Pregnancy Scale (PREG-QOL) as a new instrument to evaluate the quality of life during pregnancy and test its psychometric properties.DesignAn instrument development study and psychometric testing of the content and construct validity, factor structure and reliability.MethodsThe study was conducted in three stages: (1) creating an item pool, (2) preliminary evaluation of items, and (3) refining the scale and evaluating psychometric properties. Instrument development guidelines were used to evaluate content validity, construct validity, internal consistency and stability of the instrument over time. Data to evaluate psychometric properties of the PREG-QOL were collected between April and August 2021.ResultsItems were developed using in-depth interviews with pregnant women and extensive literature review. Scale-content validity index was 0.98. Exploratory factor analysis revealed a 26-item instrument with 6 factors, which explained % 56.2 of variance. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) showed that factors 3 and 5 should be combined into the factor of physical domain since they included items about the same theme. Fit indices obtained by CFA were at sufficient levels. Parallel test method was employed to evaluate the correlation of the PREG-QOL with the SF-36. The findings indicated that the PREG-QOL had high internal inconsistency and stability over time.ConclusionThe PREG-QOL is a valid and reliable instrument in terms of its psychometric characteristics. The 26-item instrument was composed of the five factors of perception of general satisfaction, emotional domain, physical domain, health support systems and social domain.ImpactDisplaying good psychometric properties, the PREG-QOL may be used to evaluate multiple dimensions of the quality of life during pregnancy.

Development and Assessment of a Rubric for Evaluating Teaching Portfolios Developed by Teaching and Learning Curriculum (TLC) Program Participants

ObjectiveTo describe the validation and reliability assessment of a rubric designed to assess the participants’ teaching portfolios and identify teaching excellence among teaching and learning curriculum (TLC) program participants. MethodsFollowing focus groups with program leadership at a single TLC program, an initial rubric was developed, consisting of criteria mapped to 5 domains, to be rated on a 4-point scale. The rubric was then redistributed to the TLC program leadership and external stakeholders for evaluation of face and content validity. The rubric was piloted using teaching portfolios from 3 cycles of the program. Cronbach αwas used to measure internal consistency and a 2-way random-effects model was used to assess the inter-rater reliability. ResultsA total of 18 portfolios were independently evaluated by 4 raters. The overall mean Cronbach α for internal consistency was 0.90 and ranged from 0.65 to 0.84 by domain. The overall mean intraclass correlation coefficient for inter-rater reliability was 0.95 and ranged from 0.57 to 0.91 by domain. ConclusionThe rubric evaluates characteristics of teaching portfolios important to internal and external stakeholders and had good to excellent internal consistency and inter-rater reliability. It can be adapted and applied by TLC programs to identify teaching excellence.

Content Validity and Psychometric Evaluation of the Crohn's Symptom Severity (CSS) Questionnaire in Patients with Moderately to Severely Active Crohn's Disease.

Individuals living with Crohn's disease (CD) experience burdensome symptoms. As such, it is important to measure CD symptom severity in clinical research. The goal of this study was to evaluate the content validity, psychometric performance, and score interpretability of a new patient-reported instrument, the Crohn's Symptom Severity (CSS) questionnaire, among adolescents and adults with moderately to severely active CD. Cognitive debriefing interviews (N = 30; n = 20 adults, n = 10 adolescents) were conducted to evaluate the content validity of the CSS. Additionally, the CSS scores were evaluated for reliability and validity using data from a phase3 randomized clinical trial of risankizumab (NCT03105128; N = 850). Meaningful within-patient change (MWPC) thresholds were estimated using anchor-based methods. All interview participants (n = 30/30, 100.00%) reported the CSS was easy to complete and most participants (n = 28/29, 96.55%) reported that the CSS was relevant to their experience of CD. Among the clinical trial subjects (N = 850) the following was found for the CSS: mostly acceptable item-total correlations (0.26-0.79); weak to moderate inter-item correlations (r = 0.07-0.57), good internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.76-0.87); intraclass correlation coefficients ranged from 0.48 to 0.70, not consistently exceeding the acceptable range for test-retest reliability (0.70); acceptable convergent validity and known-groups results; and demonstrated sensitivity to change. Analyses supported an MWPC estimate of 6-11 points. This study supports use of the CSS for measuring CD symptoms and sleep impact among adolescents and adults aged 16 and older with moderately to severely active CD in clinical research. Development and Validation of the Perceived Deepfake Trustworthiness Questionnaire (PDTQ) in Three Languages

Exposure to false information is becoming a common occurrence in our daily lives. New developments in artificial intelligence are now used to produce increasingly sophisticated multimedia false content, such as deepfakes, making false information even more challenging to detect and combat. This creates expansive opportunities to mislead individuals into believing fabricated claims and negatively influence their attitudes and behavior. Therefore, a better understanding of how individuals perceive such content and the variables related to the perceived trustworthiness of deepfakes is needed. In the present study, we developed and validated the Perceived Deepfake Trustworthiness Questionnaire (PDTQ) in English, Italian, and Slovene. This was done in three phases. First, we developed the initial pool of items by reviewing previous studies, generating items via interviews and surveys, and employing artificial intelligence. Second, we shortened and adapted the questionnaire according to experts’ evaluation of content validity and translated the questionnaire into Italian and Slovene. Lastly, we evaluated the psychometric characteristics via a cross-sectional study in three languages (N = 733). The exploratory factor analyses suggested a two-factor solution, with the first factor measuring the perceived trustworthiness of the content and the second measuring the perceived trustworthiness of the presentation. This factorial structure was replicated in confirmatory factor analyses. Moreover, our analyses provided support for PDTQ’s reliability, measurement invariance across all three languages, and its construct and incremental validity. As such, the PDTQ is a reliable, measurement invariant, and valid tool for comprehensive exploration of individuals’ perception of deepfake videos.

Developing Cerebral Palsy Screening of Functional Abilities in School (CPS –FAS)

Objective: This study aimed to determine the psychometric property of a newly developed functional abilities screening tool for children with cerebral palsy (CP) in special education units. Materials and Methods: This study was designed as a cross-sectional study. The tool for cerebral palsy screening of functional abilities in school (CPS-FAS) was established by surveying 28 pediatric physical therapists and holding focus group discussions with them. The CPS-FAS tool was used to evaluate content validity, reliability, and discriminative ability with 30 school-age children with CP at levels 1-3 of the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). Results: The CPS-FAS generation process established 21 activity-problem screening items for children with CP, which had good content validity (index of item-objective congruence (IOC) = 1), good internal consistency (α = 0.92), and showed significant differences between GMFCS levels 1 and 3 (p &gt; 0.001) and GMFCS levels 2 and 3 (p &gt; 0.001). Conclusion: The CPS-FAS tool can be applied to school-age children with CP in a special education unit to screen such children for activity problems that affect school living without environmental obstruction and language barriers, and it only takes a short time (10-15 minutes) to complete.

Development and validation of the climate change health protection behaviors scale for adolescents: a methodological study

ABSTRACT This study aimed to develop and validate the Climate Change Health Protection Behaviors Scale for adolescents. A total of 1036 adolescents were recruited from middle and high schools. The development of the assessment scale was carried out in three steps: item generation, content validity evaluation, and psychometric evaluation. Psychometric testing was conducted to determine the relationship between the resulting factors and the Healthy Lifestyle Belief Scale and Climate Change Awareness Scale. A 28-item scale was developed, consisting of four factors that account for 65.0% of the variance. The Cronbach’s alpha value was 0.874. Additionally, a positive correlation was observed between the Climate Change Health Protection Behaviors Scale and both the Climate Change Awareness Scale and the Healthy Lifestyle Belief Scale for adolescents. These results suggest that the Climate Change Health Protection Behaviors Scale is a reliable and valid tool for evaluating health protection behaviors related to climate change in adolescents.

Development and Evaluation of Content Validity and Acceptance of a Multidomain Intervention Module for Reversal of Cognitive Frailty Among Older Adults.

There is a limited availability of multidomain interventions that target cognitive frailty. Thus, the aim of the present study was to develop and evaluate the content validity and acceptance of the multidomain intervention module to reverse cognitive frailty among older adults (iAGELESS). This study was conducted in two phases: Phase I included the development of the multidomain intervention module iAGELESS and evaluation of content validity, while Phase II consisted of evaluating the acceptance of the module among 18 healthcare and social care providers, 13 older adults with cognitive frailty, and 13 caregivers. Content validity index (CVI) was used to quantify the content validity. Respondents completed a questionnaire which consisted of information on sociodemographic, followed by module acceptance evaluation with respect to content, terminologies, and graphics. The data was then analyzed descriptively. A multidomain intervention module, iAGELESS was developed. The module was found to have appropriate content validity (overall CVI = 0.83). All the caregivers, 92% of older adults with cognitive frailty and 83% of healthcare and social care providers were satisfied with the overall content of the module. More than 50% of those who accepted the module had satisfactory consensus on the ease of the terminologies, length of sentences, pictures, information, color, and font size included in the module. The iAGELESS module demonstrated good content validity and was well accepted, thus warranting its utilization in future studies to determine its effectiveness in reversing cognitive frailty among older adults.

The Development and Content Validity of the Fremantle Perineal Awareness Questionnaire (FrePAQ) for Use in People With Persistent Perineal Pain

Background: Altered body awareness and perception comprise a common feature of persistent pain. The Fremantle Back Awareness Questionnaire (FreBAQ) was developed to assess body awareness and perception in people with back pain. There is no tool to measure these changes in people with persistent perineal pain. Objective: To develop the Fremantle Perineal Awareness Questionnaire (FrePAQ) to assess body awareness and perception in people with persistent perineal pain. To evaluate content validity using a qualitative survey. Study Design: Modified electronic Delphi and cross-sectional qualitative online survey. Methods: A focus group developed a draft questionnaire from the preexisting FreBAQ. A preliminary FrePAQ was developed through 3 Delphi rounds of anonymous voting by a panel of 14 experts. A qualitative survey was completed by individuals with persistent perineal pain to evaluate the comprehensiveness, comprehensibility, and relevance of the preliminary questionnaire. Responses were thematically analyzed, and demographic data were summarized descriptively. Results: Fourteen panel participants completed the Delphi study, with consensus achieved on a 9-item questionnaire after 3 rounds. One hundred thirty-five participants with persistent perineal pain completed the round 1 validation survey. Changes were made to the introduction and 7 items. A new group of 53 participants completed round 2, resulting in final changes to the introduction and 2 of the 9 items. Conclusions: An expert consensus was achieved in the wording of a new questionnaire aimed at assessing body awareness and perception in people with persistent perineal pain, which demonstrated acceptable content validity.

Item-reduced Forgotten Joint Score provides adequate psychometric properties in ACLR patients.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate content validity, test-retest reliability, internal consistency, construct validity, responsiveness and floor/ceiling effects of Forgotten Joint Score (FJS) for assessing functions in activities of daily living (ADL) following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) and perform an item reduction of FJS. Swedish-speaking ACLR patients in one surgical clinic were eligible. Content validity was evaluated through patient responses and patient and expert clinician relevance ratings, omitting items with low relevance. Principal component factor analysis, Cronbach's ⍺, paired t test, correlations between FJS and Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS), Cohen's d effect sizes (ESs) andstandardized response mean (SRM) were used to evaluate internal consistency, test-retest reliability, construct validity andresponsiveness. Floor/ceiling effects were calculated. FJS was expected to reveal one dominant factor, a Cronbach's ⍺ between 0.70 and 0.95, correlations >0.50 to all KOOS subscores, highest for ADL, moderate ES and SRM, floor/ceiling effects <15%. One hundred and seventy-six participants (103 for assessing internal consistency, construct validity, responsivenessand floor/ceiling effects; 73 for assessing test-retest reliabilityand content validity) were included. Item reduction yielded a nine-item FJS (FJS-9). FJS-12 and FJS-9 demonstrated sufficient content validity (95% confidence interval [CI], 2.5-3.1, respectively, 2.9-3.3). FJS-9 was found unidimensional, and FJS-12 was multidimensional. Cronbach's ⍺ was 0.94 for FJS, and the intraclass correlation coefficient > 0.90. FJS showed significant correlations >0.65 to all KOOS subscales, moderate ES and SRM > 0.50. No floor/ceiling effects were found. FJS-9 demonstrated adequate validity for the evaluation of joint awareness in ACLR patients and can be a valuable tool to assess ADL and joint awareness. Level III.

Qualitative and Psychometric Evaluation of 29-Item Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System® to Assess General Health-Related Quality of Life in Patients With Moderately to Severely Active Inflammatory Bowel Disease

ObjectivesTo evaluate content validity and psychometric properties of the 29-item Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS-29) to determine its suitability in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) clinical trials. MethodsContent validity of PROMIS-29 was evaluated using qualitative interviews, including concept elicitation and cognitive debriefing, among patients living with Crohn’s disease (Crohn’s disease n = 20) or ulcerative colitis (UC, n = 19). PROMIS-29 validity, reliability, and responsiveness were assessed using data from phase II clinical trials of Crohn’s disease (N = 360) and UC (N = 518). ResultsCommon (≥74%) symptoms reported in qualitative interviews were increased stool frequency, fatigue, abdominal pain/cramping, blood/mucus in stool, bowel urgency, and diarrhea. Disease impact aligned with PROMIS-29 content (depression, anxiety, physical function, pain interference, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and ability to participate in social roles/activities). Cognitive debriefing indicated that PROMIS-29 instructions were easily understood, items were relevant, and the recall period was appropriate. Psychometric evaluations demonstrated that PROMIS-29 scores indicating worse symptoms/functioning were associated with lower health-related quality of life and greater disease activity and severity. PROMIS-29 domain scores correlated (rs ≥ 0.40) with IBD Questionnaire domains and EuroQol-5-Dimension-5-Level dimensions measuring similar concepts. Test-retest reliability among patients with stable disease was moderate-to-excellent (0.64-0.94) for nearly all domains in all studies. PROMIS-29 was responsive to change in disease status from baseline to week 12. Thresholds for clinically meaningful improvement ranged from ≥3 to ≥8, depending on domain. ConclusionsPROMIS-29 is valid, reliable, and responsive for assessing general health-related quality of life and treatment response in IBD clinical trials.

Validation of the Amharic version of perceived access to healthcare services for patients with cervical cancer in Ethiopia: A second-order confirmatory factor analysis.

Accessing healthcare services is a multifaceted phenomenon involving various elements, encompassing the demand, identification, reach, and utilization of healthcare needs. The literature offers methods for capturing patients' perceptions of healthcare access. However, to accurately measure patient perceptions, it is imperative to ensure the validity and reliability of such instruments by designing and implementing localized language versions. The primary aim of this study was to validate the Amharic version of the perceived access to health-care services among patients diagnosed with cervical cancer in Ethiopia. A cross-sectional study was conducted among cervical cancer patients at oncology centers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A consecutive sampling approach was used and data collection took place from January 1 to March 30, 2023. Following initial validation and pretesting, a KoboCollect mobile phone application was employed for data collection. Subsequently, the collected data underwent cleaning in Microsoft Excel and analysis through Amos software v.26 and R programming. Various validity and reliability tests, such as content validity, convergent validity, face validity, divergent validity, known-group validity, and reliability tests, were executed. A second-order confirmatory factor analysis was developed to calculate incremental model fit indices, including CFI and TLI, along with absolute measures, namely SRMR and RMSEA. A total of 308 participants were involved in the study, with 202 (65.6%) being patients referred from outside Addis Ababa. The initial evaluation of content validity by expert panels indicated that all criteria were met, with a CVR range of 0.5 to 1, I-CVI values ranging from 0.75 to 1, an S-CVI value of 0.91, and face validity values ranging from 2.4 to 4.8. The internal consistency of items within the final constructs varied from 0.76 to 0.93. Convergent, known-group, and most divergent validity tests fell within acceptable fit ranges. Common incremental fit measures for CFI and TLI were achieved with corresponding values of 0.95 and 0.94, respectively. The absolute fit measures of SRMR and RMSEA were 0.04 and 0.07, indicating good and moderate fit, respectively. The study indicated a high internal consistency and validity of items with good fit to the data, suggesting potential accuracy of the domains. A five-domain structure was developed which enables adequate assessment of perceived access to health-care services of patients with cervical cancer in Ethiopia. We suggest that the tool can be utilized in other patient populations with a consideration of additional constructs, such as geographic accessibility.

Expanding the ABCC-tool for osteoarthritis: Development and content validation

ObjectiveOsteoarthritis (OA) care should be more person-centered based on physical, emotional and social aspects, instead of the current stepped-care approach solely based on physical symptoms, according to OA patients. By developing a novel module for OA in the Assessment of Burden of Chronic Condition (ABCC)-tool, a tool based on these three aspects, experienced quality of OA care and shared-decision making are expected to improve. DesignThe development of the novel OA module involved a triangular iterative process, interviewing OA patients and healthcare professionals in the field of OA, an expert panel and a literature search to identify the needs to improve OA care. Patients provided feedback on the first version of the OA module, leading to a second version. This second version was used to evaluate content validity. OA patients and healthcare professionals in the field of OA were asked to evaluate relevance, comprehensiveness and comprehensibility, based on the COSMIN methodology. For healthcare professionals, the item-content validity index (I-CVI) was calculated. ResultsThe module includes questions about pain, kinesiophobia and joint stiffness. For all three questions, 94% of the patients found these questions important for patients with OA. The I-CVI scores of the healthcare professionals ranged from 1.0 (pain, kinesiophobia) to 0.75 (joint stiffness). ConclusionA novel, condition-specific OA module is developed for the ABCC-tool, as a supplement to the generic questions. The module includes three questions, to measure OA specific complaints. This novel module is intended to make the ABCC-tool more elaborate and useable for a larger population.

An evaluation of the psychometric properties of the Australian Collaborative Practice Assessment Tool

Objectives This study aimed to validate the Collaborative Practice Assessment Tool (CPAT) in the Australian setting and provide a quality instrument in terms of psychometric properties that can be used to measure interprofessional outcomes for both healthcare practitioners and students. The outcomes evaluated include the capacity to work in an interprofessional team, good interprofessional communication skills, leadership skills, ensuring clear division of tasks and roles in a team, effective conflict management, and being actively involved with patients and their families/communities in care. Methods The COSMIN (COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement INstruments) taxonomy and standards were used as guides for evaluating the psychometric properties of the Australian CPAT, which include evaluations regarding instrument development requirements of sample target and size, content validity, internal structure (structural validity, internal consistency reliability and measurement invariance), and hypotheses testing. CPAT Australia was developed through two stages involving pilot studies and a validation study, both of which included healthcare practitioners and students as participants. A pilot study examined content validity regarding item relevance, item comprehensibility, and instrument comprehensiveness. The validation study was carried out to assess the internal structure of CPAT Australia for aspects of structural validity, internal consistency reliabilities, and configural, metric and scalar measurement invariance. The structural validity was explored using the following three steps: exploratory, confirmatory, and multi-group factor analysis. Construct validity was evaluated to confirm direct and indirect paths of assumptions based on a previously validated model. Data collected between August 2021 and May 2022. Results The content validity evaluation confirmed that all items were relevant, understandable and comprehensive for measuring interprofessional collaborative care in Australia. Three hundred ninety-nine participants contributed to the validation study (n=152 practitioners; n=247 students). The original instrument model of 8-Factor 56-Item was improved in the Australian CPAT. Two items, Item 27 (Physicians assume the ultimate responsibility) and Item 49 (Final decision rest with the physician), were consistently rejected and therefore discarded. The internal structure of the 7-Factor 54-Item solution was confirmed as a suitable model with fit indices meeting COSMIN standards for a good model in practitioner and student cohorts. Configural, metric and scalar invariances were confirmed, indicating the invariance of the instruments when used for the practitioner and student cohorts. The construct validity evaluation indicated that 81.3% of direct and indirect assumptions were accepted, fulfilling the COSMIN requirement of &gt;75% of proposed assumptions being accepted. Conclusion The Australian CPAT with a 7-factor 54-item solution was confirmed as a quality measure for assessing interprofessional education and collaborative practice for both healthcare practitioners and students in Australia with robust psychometric properties.

Development and validation of a quality of life and treatment satisfaction measure in canine osteoarthritis.

Canine osteoarthritis (OA) causes pain and mobility impairment. This can reduce dog quality of life (QoL), owner QoL and owners' satisfaction with, and adherence to, treatments. No existing canine OA-specific instrument assesses all three impacts. This study aimed to develop and psychometrically evaluate an owner-completed canine OA-specific measure of dog QoL, owner QoL and owner treatment satisfaction; the "Canine OA Quality of Life and Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire" (CaOA-QoL-TS). The CaOA-QoL-TS was developed using a conceptual model derived from a meta-synthesis of published literature followed by cognitive interviews with ten owners of dogs with OA, to evaluate content validity. Based on interview findings, ten items were reworded, four removed, and two added; resulting in 26 items that all owners understood and considered relevant. The recall period and response options were well understood and appropriate to almost all owners. To evaluate its psychometric properties, the CaOA-QoL-TS (draft 26-item version) was administered, across six timepoints in a phase 4 field study, to owners of OA treated dogs, recruited from veterinary practices (N = 93). Inter-item correlations suggested items clustered into three distinct domains: Dog QoL, Owner QoL and Treatment Satisfaction, as hypothesized. Confirmatory factor analysis supported deletion of two items and calculation of the three domain scores, with acceptable model fit. The resulting 24-item CaOA-QoL-TS instrument demonstrated strong internal consistency and good to excellent test-retest reliability. Convergent validity was supported by moderate to strong correlations with concurrent measures. Known groups validity was supported by statistically significant differences between groups categorized by owner global impression of QoL. Ability to detect change was demonstrated through statistically significant improvements over time in Owner and Dog QoL, with larger within-group effect sizes reported for the mean of 'improved' dogs compared to the mean of 'stable' dogs. Only a small sample of dogs worsened throughout the study. Anchor-based analyses supported-0.9 and-1.0-point within-group responder definitions for dog and owner QoL domains, respectively. Findings support the content validity of the CaOA-QoL-TS in canine OA. The 24-item CaOA-QoL-TS is a reliable and valid instrument to measure owner and canine QoL and TS and is sensitive to improvements following OA treatment.

Development and validation of the IS-C psychometric tool for evaluating children's impulsivity

This research aims to develop an instrument for the evaluation of impulsivity traits in children and to examine the psychometric features of the developed scale. The process of developing the scale involved three main phases: namely, item generation, evaluation of content validity, and analysis of psychometric properties. The study sample comprised 319 children (68 females, 201 males) aged 5-18, all diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), including 50 who underwent pilot testing. Both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were employed to assess the factor structure of the scale, resulting in an 18-item scale encompassing motor impulsivity, non-planning impulsivity, and attention-related impulsivity factors. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) indicated a satisfactory model-data fit. The overall scale demonstrated high reliability, with Cronbach's Alpha coefficients reaching 0.863. The analyses indicated that the scale is both valid and reliable.

An e-Delphi study to evaluate content validity of the Teacher Food and Nutrition-Questionnaire

Teacher food and nutrition (FN) related factors include diet quality, health perceptions and FN attitudes. These factors are associated with both personal health and wellbeing, and teacher classroom FN practices. With Australian schoolteachers currently experiencing high levels of stress, anxiety and burnout, measuring and understanding the status of teacher FN-related health and wellbeing is needed. However, first there needs to be a comprehensive and validated tool to collect these data. This study aims to evaluate content validity of a new tool, the Teacher Food and Nutrition Questionnaire (TFNQ), to measure FN-related health and wellbeing of Australian schoolteachers. The TFNQ was developed following an extensive literature review of FN data collection methods previously used in schoolteacher populations internationally. It initially included 16 FN-related constructs alongside six constructs of wellbeing and mental health, and seven lifestyle covariates identified from the literature review. A two-round e-Delphi methodology was implemented using a mix of structured, rank-order and qualitative questions administered to an international, multidisciplinary group of experts via an online survey1. Descriptive statistics were used to derive a consensus vote (set at 75%) of constructs and covariates to be prioritised for inclusion. Qualitative feedback was analysed to identify areas of potential change. Twenty-three experts participated in round-one from Australia (n = 15), Switzerland (n = 3), The United Kingdom (n = 2), Canada (n = 1), The United States of America (n = 1) and New Zealand (n = 1). Of the 29 constructs and covariates evaluated in round-one of the e-Delphi, all achieved above 75% consensus, yet qualitative feedback indicated potential to reduce and streamline the number of constructs. Rank order questions and qualitative feedback resulted in the removal of four FN and two wellbeing constructs along with four lifestyle covariates. Round-two included 19 (83%) experts from round-one, with 83% (n = 15) in agreement regarding question order. Final feedback indicated only minor adjustments to question item phrasing. The e-Delphi process modified the TNFQ and established content validity. Further construct validity and reliability testing is required to produce a robust tool for measuring FN-related health and wellbeing of contemporary Australian schoolteachers.

Translation and measurement properties of pregnancy and childbirth questionnaire in Iranian postpartum women

BackgroundPerceived care quality and patient satisfaction have been important care quality indicators in recent decades, and healthcare professionals have been influential on women’s childbirth experience. This study investigated the measurement properties of the Persian version of the Pregnancy and Childbirth Questionnaire (PCQ), designed to measure mothers’ satisfaction with the quality of healthcare services provided during pregnancy and childbirth.MethodsThis is a cross-sectional methodological study. Instrument translation, face validity, content validity, structural validity, and reliability evaluation were performed to determine the measurement properties of the PCQ’s Persian version. A backward-forward approach was employed for the translation process. Impact scores were selected based on the items’ importance to measure face validity. Content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR) were calculated to measure content validity, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used to measure structural validity. The cluster random sampling method was used, resulting in a sample of 250 eligible women referred to the health centers of Tabriz, Iran, who were 4 to 6 weeks after giving birth. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) using a test-retest approach were used to determine the questionnaire’s reliability.ResultsThe impact scores of all items were above 1.5, which indicates a suitable face validity. The content validity was also favorable (CVR = 0.95, CVI = 0.90). Exploratory factor analysis on 25 items led to the removal of item 2 due to a factor loading of less than 0.3 and the extraction of three factors explaining 65.07% of the variances. The results of the sample adequacy size were significant (< 0.001, and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin = 0.886). The model’s validity was confirmed based on the confirmatory factor analysis fit indicators (i.e., RMSEA = 0.08, SRMR = 0.09, TLI = 0.91, CFI = 0.93, x2/df = 4.65). The tool’s reliability was also confirmed (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.88, and ICC (95% CI) = 0.93 (0.88 to 0.95)).ConclusionThe validity and reliability of the PCQ’s Persian version were suitable to measure the extent to which Iranian women are satisfied with the quality of prenatal and intrapartum care.
