Association of categorical diagnoses and psychopathologies with quality of life in patients with depression, anxiety, and somatic symptoms: A cross-sectional study

ObjectiveMajor depressive disorder (MDD), anxiety disorders, and somatic symptom disorder (SSD) are associated with quality of life (QoL) reduction. This cross-sectional study investigated the relationship between these conditions as categorical diagnoses and related psychopathologies with QoL, recognizing their frequent overlap. MethodsWe recruited a total of 403 clinical patients and healthy individuals, administering diagnostic interviews based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition. QoL and psychopathologies were assessed using the WHO Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) and several self-administered questionnaires, respectively. Multiple linear regression analyses examined the associations between psychiatric diagnoses, psychopathologies, and QoL. ResultsSSD and MDD were independently associated with impaired global (β = −0.318 and − 0.287) and all QoL domains (β = −0.307, −0.150, −0.125, and − 0.133, in physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains respectively for SSD; β = −0.278, −0.344, −0.275, and − 0.268 for MDD). The Beck Depression Inventory-II score showed pervasive associations with QoL (β = −0.390, −0.408, −0.685, −0.463, and − 0.420, in global, physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains). The Patient Health Questionnaire-15 and Health Anxiety Questionnaire scores were associated with global (β = −0.168 and − 0.181) and physical (β = −0.293 and − 0.121) QoL domain, while the Cognitions About Body and Health Questionnaire score was only associated with environmental QoL domain (β = −0.157). ConclusionSSD and MDD were independently associated with QoL impairment. Depressive symptoms were associated with all QoL domains, whereas somatic symptom burden and health anxiety primarily affected the physical QoL domain. Clinicians should consider concomitant psychopathologies when managing patients with depression, anxiety, or somatic symptoms.

The Prediction of Quality of Life by Frailty and Disability among Dutch Community-Dwelling People Aged 75 Years or Older.

The present study aimed to examine the prediction of quality of life by frailty and disability in a baseline sample of 479 Dutch community-dwelling people aged 75 years or older using a follow-up period of 8 years. Regarding frailty, we distinguish between physical, psychological, and social frailty. Concerning physical disability, we distinguish between limitations in performing activities in daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities in daily living (IADL). The Tilburg Frailty Indicator (TFI) and the Groningen Activity Restriction Scale (GARS) were used to assess frailty domains and types of disability, respectively. Quality of life was determined by the WHOQOL-BREF containing physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains. In our study, 53.9% of participants were woman, and the mean age was 80.3 years (range 75-93). The study showed that psychological frailty predicted four domains of quality of life and physical frailty three. Social frailty was only found to be a significant predictor of social quality of life and environmental quality of life. ADL and IADL disability proved to be the worst predictors. It is recommended that primary healthcare professionals (e.g., general practitioners, district nurses) focus their interventions primarily on factors that can prevent or delay psychological and physical frailty, thereby ensuring that people's quality of life does not deteriorate.

Enhancing traffic control systems with live video analytics: Issues, challenges, opportunities, and recent problems

With the rapid urbanization and increasing number of vehicles on the roads, it has become imperative to develop innovative solutions that can monitor and manage traffic congestion automatically. Traffic congestion harms the economy, environment, and overall quality of life. To address these challenges, smart traffic management systems employ cutting-edge technologies such as live video analytics and sensor-based adaptive traffic control systems. These systems can predict traffic patterns, locate congestion hotspots, and uncover abnormalities contributing to road accidents in real time. However, adopting these technologies for traffic control systems raises important concerns such as robustness and sustainability across different traffic junctions, data integration from multiple sources, and computational feasibility for real time computation. Therefore, this paper aims to present an overview of the potential benefits and challenges in adapting the latest technologies including the Internet of things and machine learning for sustainable traffic management. Additionally, a case study of a smart city is presented to evaluate an adaptive traffic control system based on live camera feed analytics by leveraging computer vision techniques. The adaptive traffic control system is accurate in vehicle detection and counting. This system is very useful for smart cities where traffic signals need to be automated according to the density of vehicles.

Shorter communications: Exploring the impact of a brief smartphone-based alcohol intervention app (DrinksRation) on the quality of life of UK military veterans

Alcohol misuse – defined as consuming more than 14 units of alcohol per week - is a well-established problem among veterans. This study investigated the change in quality of life among help-seeking UK veterans who completed a 28-day brief alcohol intervention delivered via a digital smartphone application (called DrinksRation) and have previously sought clinical help for a mental health disorder. This study was a secondary outcome analysis of data collected during a randomised control trial. In total, 123 UK veterans participated in the study and were randomly allocated to either the intervention or control arm. Participants completed self-report questionnaires regarding their alcohol use and quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF) at baseline, day 28 (end of intervention), day 84, and day 168. At the primary endpoint (day 84), we found significantly greater improvements in the intervention arm compared to the control arm for psychological quality of life (Cohen's d = 0.47), and environmental quality of life (d = 0.34). However, we observed no statistically significant differences between the intervention and control arm for social relationships and physical quality of life. Further, for day 168 we found no significant differences. Findings suggest that DrinksRation can increase quality of life among help-seeking veterans who have previously sought help for a mental health disorder, but the increases were modest and restricted to certain domains. Additional treatment may be needed for long-term and sustained improvements in quality of life.

Diverse learners: learning disabilities and quality of life following mind-body and health education interventions for adults with neurofibromatosis.

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is associated with low quality-of-life (QoL). Learning disabilities are prevalent among those with NF, further worsening QoL and potentially impacting benefits from mind-body and educational interventions, yet research on this population is scarce. Here, we address this gap by comparing NF patients with and without learning disabilities on QoL at baseline and QoL-related gains following two interventions. Secondary analysis of a fully-powered RCT of a mind-body program (Relaxation Response Resiliency Program for NF; 3RP-NF) versus an educational program (Health Enhancement Program for NF; HEP-NF) among 228 adults with NF. Participants reported QoL in four domains (Physical Health, Psychological, Social Relationships, and Environmental). We compare data at baseline, post-treatment, and 12-month follow-up, controlling for intervention type. At baseline, individuals with NF and learning disabilities had lower Psychological (T = -3.0, p = .001) and Environmental (T = -3.8, p < .001) QoL compared to those without learning disabilities. Both programs significantly improved all QoL domains (ps < .0001-0.002) from baseline to post-treatment, regardless of learning disability status. However, those with learning disabilities exceeded the minimal clinically important difference in only one domain (Psychological QoL) compared to three domains in individuals without learning disabilities. Moreover, those with learning disabilities failed to sustain statistically significant gains in Psychological QoL at 12-months, while those without learning disabilities sustained all gains. Adults with NF and learning disabilities have lower Psychological and Environmental QoL. While interventions show promise in improving QoL regardless of learning disabilities, additional measures may bolster clinical benefit and sustainability among those with learning disabilities.

Noise emissions from rail transport are a major concern, as they affect both the environment and people's health and quality of life. Among the many sources of noise emissions, rail vehicles and infrastructure are a major factor. With regard to rail noise emissions, it can be concluded that noise effects are influenced by a number of factors. These factors include train speed, track condition, traction technology and the noise abatement methods used. The negative effects of noise exposure include sleep disturbance, stress and mental health deterioration. It also affects the quality of life of people in urban areas and property prices. It should be emphasised that reducing noise emissions from rail transport is key to creating a healthier and more sustainable urban environment. To achieve this, it is important to use modern noise abatement technologies, improve infrastructure and implement noise abatement actions effectively. Transport authorities and railway companies should work together to achieve a more noise-free rail transport, to improve people's quality of life and to protect the environment.

Association between anxiety, depression and quality of life in male and female German students during the COVID-19 pandemic

BackgroundStudies show that three-quarters of mental disorders appear during young adulthood, which makes students a risk group. Especially people with anxiety and depression experience lower Quality of Life (QoL) compared to healthy persons. Furthermore, previous research found that there was a wide range of negative mental consequences triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to examine the association between anxiety, depression and QoL in male and female students at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: 297 German students (121 men, age spanmen: 18–41 years; 176 women, age spanwomen: 18–52 years) filled in the following questionnaires: World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief Version, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and the Symptom-Checklist-90-R. Men and women did not differ significantly in their physical, psychological, environmental and global QoL. Results: While women showed higher raw anxiety scores, groups did not differ in terms of their raw depression scores. Furthermore, we found main effects of anxiety and depression on the four QoL subscales. Students´ QoL was highest if they were not affected by anxiety and depression, independently of gender. Psychological and social QoL was worst if the students reported marginal and particularly clinically significant levels of anxiety and depression. Men experienced worse psychological and social QoL than women for clinically significant anxiety levels. Conclusions: Interventions should target especially the psychological and the social subscales of QoL, as these areas are most affected by anxiety and depression. Possible interventions could be psychoeducational programs or participation in sports because it offers an opportunity for social interaction and goal-directed activity.

Successful Life Conduct in Very Old Age: Theoretical Implications and Empirical Support from a Population-Based Study

AbstractSocial survey data on those aged 80 years or older is sparse. Based on a representative sample, this paper validates a multidimensional model proposed for understanding of quality of life (QoL) in very old age. Towards this goal, this paper estimated levels and heterogeneity of personal and environmental resources, well-being, autonomy, and perceived appreciation by society in the population of the very old in Germany. Next, the contribution of personal and environmental resources to QoL outcomes and overlap between these outcomes was estimated using a multivariate approach. Results were based on a representative survey on QoL of the very old in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s most populous state. The survey included comprehensive information on socio-demographics, health, social and personal QoL resources including objective testing of cognitive function. The sample comprised 1,863 individuals (mean age 86.5 years, range 80–102 years), including 211 individuals residing in non-private dwellings. Interviews with proxy informants were conducted for 176 individuals that were willing to participate but could not conduct the interview themselves due to limited ability to communicate (PLC). Pronounced differences were found for PLC with respect to environmental and personal resources and QoL outcomes. Pronounced differences were also found both with respect to lower observed levels of QoL outcomes (e.g., autonomy) and predictors of QoL outcomes (e.g., effect of negative “external” appreciation on subjective well-being). Contrary to the deficit-oriented model of old age, a high degree of autonomy was observed. However, substantial and consequential negative “external” appreciation of very old age was also apparent.

Virtual reality natural experiences for mental health: comparing the effects between different immersion levels

Virtual nature is an innovative approach for promoting mental health. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects on mental health outcomes between two immersion levels of virtual reality natural experiences. The study design was a cluster trial. Healthy adults were allocated to two experimental groups. Identical pre-recorded 360° videos of natural scenes and sounds were played on the two virtual reality devices, one with a higher immersive level via a head-mounted display and the other one with a lower immersive level via a smartphone. The intervention was conducted for 30 min per session, once a week for 12 weeks. Data were collected by self-reported questionnaires at the baseline and post-intervention. In total, 54 participants completed the interventions. A significantly greater effect was revealed on improving happiness, self-rated health, and physical, mental, social, and environmental quality of life, and ameliorating distress, depression, and somatization in participants who experienced the higher immersive level compared to participants who experienced the lower immersive level. Virtual reality natural experiences with high immersion are recommended to promote mental health.

Global cities are an indispensable platform for businesses around the world, with the ability to support and accommodate the economy by influencing the world economy, culture and politics. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and rank the performance of 46 global cities in the Global Power City Index for 2022 in terms of the GPCI functions of Economy, Research and Development, Cultural Interaction, Livability, Environment and Accessibility and Quality of Life using multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method. In the study, the weights of the performance criteria are first determined with the CRITIC method and then the cities are ranked according to their performance by applying the Gray Relational Analysis (GRA) method. Empirical findings show that the most important criterion is CM (Climate index) and the least important criterion is PI (Purchasing power index). Furthermore, the findings of the GIA method indicate that in 2022, London ranks first, Frankfurt second and New York third, while Mumbai is the last ranked global city. These findings thus provide important recommendations for policymakers and investors.

TRIBES OF TELANGANA: NUTRITIONAL STATUS, HEALTH CONDITIONS AND QUALITY OF LIFE - A STUDY OF ADILABAD DISTRICT

Introduction: Indias agricultural output has recently been self-sufficient; the issue of malnutrition still exists and is still regarded as one of the most important problems. The quality-of-life index is a composite criterion used in public health management and policy analysis to assess the well-being of communities or groups of people based on a variety of social, physical, psychological, and economic characteristics. Methodology: The study was conducted in Adilabad district of Telangana state with an aim of assessing nutritional level and its influence on tribal quality of life. The study adopted a cross-sectional descriptive research design with cluster sampling technique of probability sampling method and the sample size of the current study is 379. The tools including Sociodemographic data sheet, Mini Nutritional Assessment scale and WHO Quality of life. Results: The study findings show the statistically positive correlation between nutritional level and quality of life domains such as physical, psychological, environmental quality of life and social relationships. Conclusion: The study findings indicating the influence of nutritional level on tribal quality of life. It is important to addressing nutritional deficits among the tribal and it is evidence to understand how the quality of life has been increasing in tribal who has good nutritional levels. Minimal clinically important difference in the World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief (WHOQOL-BREF) for adults with neurofibromatosis.

This study aimed to estimate minimal clinically important difference (MCID) values for the World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief version (WHOQOL-BREF) among adults with neurofibromatosis (NF). An MCID is needed to demonstrate clinical meaningfulness of interventions for NF. We estimated MCID for the WHOQOL-BREF: the quality of life (QoL) measure recommended by the Response Evaluation in Neurofibromatosis and Schwannomatosis International Collaboration. We used data from 228 clinical trial participants with NF type 1, NF type 2-related schwannomatosis, or schwannomatosis (SCHWN) who completed 10weeks of a virtual group mind-body program targeting resiliency or a time- and attention-matched control. Following established guidelines, we estimated MCIDs using both anchor-based and distribution-based methods for physical, psychological, social relationships, and environmental domains of the WHOQOL-BREF. MCID results varied across method and QoL domain. Three anchor-based methods, average change (AC), change difference (CD), and regression (REG), yielded the most consistent and comparable MCID across QoL domains. Based on these methods, we recommend ranges for each QoL domain: Physical QoL (3.9-7.3), Psychological QoL (4.7-8.1), Social QoL (2.6-5.9), and Environmental QoL (4.1-6.6). Establishing a rigorous MCID for QoL in NF is a critical step toward evaluating meaningful change in response to psychosocial interventions.

Long-term quality of life after repeated ketamine infusions in anxious and nonanxious patients with depression

BackgroundThere have been many studies on the benefits of repeated ketamine infusions on patients' depression but few on the impact of ketamine on patients' long-term quality of life (QoL). This study investigated long-term QoL in individuals with depression, both anxious and nonanxious. MethodsA total of 107 individuals with a diagnosis of depression were included in the study. The patients were evaluated on Days 0, 13 and 26 and Months 6 and 9, and they received six ketamine infusions over the course of two weeks. The World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) Scale and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) Scale were used to measure depressive symptoms and QoL. Linear mixed models were used to evaluate depressive symptoms and QoL during ketamine treatment. ResultsA total of 67.2 % of patients were diagnosed with anxious depression. In the long term, there were no significant differences in the time-by-group interactions for general QoL (F = 0.510; P = 0.676), physical QoL (F = 2.092; P = 0.102), psychological QoL (F = 0.102; P = 0.959), social QoL (F = 2.180; P = 0.091), or environmental QoL (F = 1.849; P = 0.139) between the two groups. LimitationsThe main limitation of this study is its open-label design. ConclusionThe improvement in depression symptoms and QoL following ketamine treatment was not impacted by the presence or absence of anxiety in patients who were depressed prior to treatment. Only occasionally did depressed individuals with anxiety experience a worsening of their quality of life compared to those without anxiety.

Green growth assessment across 203 economies: Trends and insights

Green growth underpins the achievement of sustainable transition through continued economic development while addressing threats to environmental sustainability and socially inclusive well-being. Yet, decoupling economic growth from natural resource depletion and environmental degradation while achieving long-term sustainable development remains complex. Here, we present a comprehensive evaluation of green growth across 203 economies using our novel dataset (i.e., Data descriptor titled, “Comprehensive green growth indicators across countries and territories” published in Scientific Data) to examine the determinants and indicators of green growth and their variations across diverse countries and regions. We further analyze the long-term trends and patterns of green growth performance, drawing insights from historical data for future policy-making. Finally, we examine the policy implications of β-convergence in green growth while addressing regional disparities. We use the constructed global measures of green growth to rank (winners and losers) countries with environmentally sustainable economic development. The top ten economies with high performance in green growth include Monaco, Singapore, New Zealand, New Caledonia, American Samoa, the US, Japan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Australia. In contrast, the bottom ten economies ranked by their low green growth performance include Saint Martin, Faeroe Islands, Turkmenistan, Sint Maarten, Palau, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Bermuda, Suriname, and Curacao in a bottom-up fashion. Our empirical results show that green growth policies that internalize the negative effects of sustainable development improve a country's socioeconomic dynamics, environmental quality of life, natural asset base, policy responses, and emission productivity.

Evaluation of Perceived Environmental Risks of Residents' Life under the Perspective of Environmental Public Opinion

Population health, social development and the environment are important elements of sustainable development. This article uses the China People's Daily message board to collect environmental public opinion data, visualizes the public opinion hotspots of environmental based on word frequency statistics, and applies the Latent Dirichlet Allocations (LDA) topic model to analyze the spatial distribution of environmental risk perception dimensions. The conclusions are as follows: (1) in terms of the hotspots of environmental public opinion, the most frequent occurrences are the living environment, interest demands and noise pollution. (2) There is heterogeneity in the topic of environmental risk perception. The perception of pollution source types has the highest weight in environmental risk perception in the eastern, central, and western regions. Specifically, the types of pollution sources in the eastern that receive the most attention are garbage and noise pollution. In addition to paying attention to noise pollution, the central and western also have a higher perceived weight on the polluters. Residents in northeast are most concerned about changes in residents' health and living environment quality. (3) From the perspective of environmental risk perception, health perception has the highest proportion in northeast, followed by the eastern, and finally the central and western. Proportion of perception of interest demands is highest in the central region, perception of residential environment quality is highest in the northeast region, perception of pollution source types is highest in the eastern, central, and western regions, and lowest in the northeast region. Finally, some practical and feasible policy recommendations were proposed for different regions.

Developing Workers’ Sports Engagement in Northern Vietnam’s Industrial Zones

This article extensively analyzes workers’ sports participation in Northern Vietnam’s industrial zones, shedding light on the modern labor landscape. It underscores the importance of achieving work-life balance, where sports contribute to physical well-being, stress management, and positive workplace relationships. Additionally, the article addresses challenges like work-related stress, time management, and sports infrastructure investment. It emphasizes the roles of labor unions and businesses in promoting sports and employee well-being through facilities, events, and encouragement. This article initiates discussions on sports’ significance in workers’ lives, aiming to improve the work environment and overall quality of life.

The Intelligent Built-Environment as Cyber-Physical System

This thesis presents an alternative approach to intelligence in the built-environment, departing from the two established yet divergent branches in the discourse: the Technical, centered around Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and represented by Ambient Intelligence (AmI) and Ambient Assisted Living (AAL); and the Architectural, centered around architectural / spatial experiences and considerations, and represented by Interactive Architecture and Adaptive Architecture. The promise of both AmI/AAL and IA/AA is constrained by rigid and increasingly outdated assumptions in their approaches—i.e., AmI’s / AAL’s approach to the built-environment, and IA’s / AA’s approach to ICTs. Moreover, it is impossible to combine them to yield a cohesive system due to disparity in their typical Technology Readiness Levels. That is, the sophistication of a system depends on that of its mutually complementing subsystems; and two or more subsystems may not mutually complement, sustain, and/or support one another if their levels of development do not correspond. Consequently, the presented alternative conceives the intelligent built-environment as a Cyber- Physical System. Under this approach, ICTs and Architectural considerations in conjunction instantiate intelligence fundamentally. The presented approach’s promise is illustrated via its application to a constrained use-case focused on the elderly. Twelve proof-of-concept demonstrators are developed based on key parameters pertaining to Indoor Environmental Quality and Quality of Life. While each demonstrator is presented as a discrete proof-of-concept, all build on the same core System Architecture and technological ecosystem, and are intended to be viewed as a collection of systems and services expressed within a same hypothetical environment.

An Analysis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Quality of Life Among Adults Living with HIV in Western Uganda.

HIV/AIDS remains a significant global public health issue, profoundly impacting infected individuals. Living with HIV involves complex mental health dynamics, with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) being a prevalent challenge. This study aims to examine the correlation between PTSD and quality of life among HIV-positive individuals in western Uganda. Conducted between May and July 2023, this facility-based cross-sectional study surveyed 439 participants from four HIV clinics in southwestern Uganda. Data were collected through interviewer-administered questionnaires, analyzed using descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression (p<0.05). Respondents had a mean age of 40.6 years, with 68.3% female, 54.9% married, and 55.1% lacking formal education. The reported PTSD prevalence among HIV-positive individuals was 33.7%, significantly correlating with reduced overall quality of life (β = -4.52; p<0.001). The social quality of life had the highest mean score of 14.24 (±3.45) while the environmental quality of life had the lowest mean score 11.89 (±2.68). Our study reveals a concerning prevalence of PTSD, affecting 1 in 3 individuals, emphasizing the pressing need for comprehensive mental health support within HIV care settings. We observed a significant negative impact of PTSD on overall quality of life, particularly in physical and social aspects. Integrating mental health screening into routine HIV care is crucial, using validated tools like the PSTD Checklist Civilian Version, alongside training for healthcare providers to recognize PTSD symptoms in the context of HIV diagnosis and treatment.

Objective: This study aimed to analyze research on social isolation intervention for the older adults living alone, find effective social isolation intervention techniques and provide basic data for effective application of these interventions. Methods: Databases from SCOPUS, Web of Science, Research Information Sharing Service, and CINAHL, which contained studies from January 2012 to January 2023, were searched through using the search terms, “social isolation” AND (“older” OR “elder” OR “aged” OR “geriatric”) AND (“living alone” OR “live alone”) AND “intervention”. Ultimately, five studies were selected for further analysis. Results: Four of the five selected studies provided interventions related to social interactions, and one provided computer-based interventions. As a result of the intervention, social isolation and loneliness were reduced, and effects such as increasing social support, improving environmental quality of life, and improving life satisfaction were also reported. Conclusion: This study investigated interventions for older adults living alone who complained of social isolation. This information can be used as a basis for effective social isolation interventions in occupational therapy.

Environmental Quality of Life and Psychological Distress of Emerging Adults in Flood-Affected Areas of Assam, India: A Cross-Sectional Study

Abstract Background: Psychological reactions after any catastrophe can vary from person to person and from disaster to disaster depending upon the level of exposure, the extent of loss, coping mechanisms, and social support available at that time. Objective: The objective of this study was to examine mental health-related issues experienced by emerging adults as a result of flooding in various localities of Assam, which are considered to be as worst affected areas. Materials and Methods: It was a cross-sectional research study and was conducted among the emerging adults of flood-affected areas of Assam amid the issues of ongoing floods between June and July 2022. The convenience sampling method was used in the selection of emerging adults in the age group of 18–25 years, residing in Assam during flooding situations. To measure psychological distress, the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale was used. Additionally, to measure an individual’s perception of general health, environmental quality of life, and people’s perception of the overall quality of life, the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF Scale was used. Results: The findings show that a significant difference was not found between emerging adults who had flood issues on their property and those who had not gone through in the domain of depression (Mann–Whitney U = 1644.0, p=.85), anxiety (Mann–Whitney U = 1657.0, p=.91), and stress (Mann–Whitney U = 1634.0, p=.81). Significant group difference was seen in the environmental quality of life (Mann–Whitney U = 945.5, p&lt;.001), the individual’s perception of general health (Mann–Whitney U = 1225.0, p=.01), and the individual’s perception of overall quality of life (Mann–Whitney U = 991.5, p&lt;.001). It was found that depression had a significant negative correlation with an individual’s perception of general health (r = −0.172, p=.045). Additionally, anxiety had a significant negative correlation with the individual’s perception of general health (r = −0.193, p=.024). Stress had a significant negative correlation with an individual’s perception of general health (r = −0.169, p=.048). Conclusion: The results in the present study help to comprehend emerging adults’ psychological responses to disasters and have practical insinuations for service planning and delivery. It is very important to strengthen mental health care and psychological consultation facilities, to mitigate, control, and prevent mental health problems.
