The influence of digital platform on the implementation of corporate social responsibility: from the perspective of environmental science development to explore its potential role in public health.

This paper aims to explore the intersection of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and public health within the context of digital platforms. Specifically, the paper explores the impact of digital platforms on the sustainable development practices of enterprises, seeking to comprehend how these platforms influence the implementation of environmental protection policies, resource management, and social responsibility initiatives. To assess the impact of digital platforms on corporate environmental behavior, we conducted a questionnaire survey targeting employees in private enterprises. This survey aimed to evaluate the relationship between the adoption of digital platforms and the implementation of environmental protection policies and practices. Analysis of the survey responses revealed a significant positive correlation between the use of digital platforms and the environmental protection behavior of enterprises (), Moreover, the presence of innovative environmental protection technologies on these platforms was found to positively influence the enforcement of environmental policies, with a calculated impact ratio of (). An intermediary analysis highlighted that environmental innovation technology plays a mediating role in this process. Additionally, adjustment analysis showed that enterprises of various sizes and industries respond differently to digital platforms, indicating the need for tailored environmental policies. These findings underscore the pivotal role of digital platforms in enhancing CSR efforts and public health by fostering improved environmental practices among corporations. The mediating effect of environmental innovation technologies suggests that digital platforms not only facilitate direct environmental actions but also enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of such initiatives through technological advances. The variability in response by different enterprises points to the importance of customizable strategies in policy formulation. By offering empirical evidence of digital platforms' potential to advance CSR and public health through environmental initiatives, this paper contributes to the ongoing dialogue on sustainable development goals. It provides practical insights for enterprises and policy implications for governments striving to craft more effective environmental policies and strategies.

Research on the driving factors of rural residents' pro-environmental behavior under the background of frequent heat waves

Heat wave events have frequently occurred worldwide in recent years, and continuous high temperatures have severely impacted human life and ecosystems. Given this problem, the government and the public must cooperate closely to participate in global environmental governance. Among them, pro-environmental behavior is the most significant form for citizens to participate in environmental protection and fulfill social responsibilities. It plays an essential role in mitigating extremely high temperatures worldwide and achieving "carbon neutrality" and sustainable development of the world environment. Based on this, the study utilized the field survey data of 554 respondents from 14 villages in Xi'an and applied a structural equation model that integrates the theory of planned behavior and protection motivation theory to identify the main determinants of the pro-environmental behavior of rural dwellers. The research reported that: 1) The integrated model of the theory of planned behavior and protection motivation theory is suitable for studying people's pro-environmental behavior in the context of heat waves. 2) Heat risk perception, response efficacy, self-efficacy, and subjective norms significantly improved rural residents' pro-environmental behavior. In contrast, response cost had an opposite negative impact on rural residents' pro-environmental behavior. Among them, subjective norms had the most considerable effect. Based on these, we recommend that local governments promote public participation in environmental governance through the following methods: 1) Strengthen the publicity and education of heat wave knowledge and improve public awareness of heat wave risks. 2) Increase investment in environmental protection facilities and reward the public for environmental protection behavior to reduce the cost of the public's pro-environmental behavior. 3) Give full play to the leading role of government cadres and improve the public's awareness of environmental protection through the impact of the social environment.

Investigation of environmental ethics, spiritual health, and its relationship with environmental protection behaviors in nursing students

Objective. To investigate the relationship between environmental ethics, spiritual health, and environmental behavior among nursing students. Methods. In this cross-sectional study, 200 iranian students from the Chabahar Nursing School were selected using a simple random sampling method. The data collection tool included a questionnaire on demographic information, knowledge, attitudes and behaviors towards the environment, environmental ethics, and spiritual health. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized to evaluate the conceptual framework in this study. Results. The mean score for environmental ethics among nursing students was 65.73±10.61 out of 100. Most of the students (47%) had desirable environmental ethics. The knowledge structure (β=0.46) predicted attitude. The attitude structure also predicted environmental behavior (β=0.28) and spiritual health (β=0.31). Ultimately, the results showed that spiritual health and environmental ethics predict environmental behavior directly and indirectly (p<0.001). Conclusion. Spiritual health and environmental ethics were strong predictors of environmental behavior. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account not only students' spiritual health but also their ethical behaviors to promote environmental protection behaviors in the future.

Climate Village Program Advocacy and communication Strategy in Samarinda by PT PLN Persero as a contribution to SDG's Environmental Sector

The existence of tropical forests in East Kalimantan, covering an area of 40.8 million hectares, has been claimed internationally as one of the lungs of the world. This situation causes the Indonesian government to try its best to strengthen the awareness of all parties to maintain ecosystems and nature preservation in East Kalimantan. One state company that is very concerned about this issue is PT PLN (State Power Plant), especially PLN Mahakam Power Plant Control Implementation Unit in Samarinda. PLN strives to continuously assist in several residential areas in the city of Samarinda to provide community-strengthening awareness of environmental protection and nature conservation. This study wants to know how PLN carried out the advocacy strategy for the Village Climate program with partners of the Environmental Office in Samarinda to contribute to achieving SDGs in the environmental sector. Assistance and advocacy to the community are essential to strengthening awareness and sustainable environmental protection behavior. It is inseparable from appropriate communication strategies and implementing intercultural communication locally. This research will use a constructive paradigm with a methodological approach using in-depth interviews with the implementing partners of assistance and advocacy, namely from the environmental office and from PLN, who assist in 12 points of residential areas and educational facilities in the city Samarinda. The results showed that the success of this activity could not be separated from the right communication strategy and the full involvement of various parties to succeed in the Climate Village program in the city of Samarinda.

AGE DIFFERENCES IN CLIMATE CHANGE ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIORS

Abstract Although previous studies show that older adults are vulnerable to the effects of climate change, the actions of older adults to address climate change have not received much attention. The purpose of this study is to investigate age differences in the perception of climate change and the characteristics of pro-environmental behavior. We analyzed cross-sectional data from a nationally representative sample drawn from the 2022 Korea Social Survey. The sample consisted of 15,252 adults, including younger adults (aged 19-34, n=6,132) and older adults (aged 65+, n=9,120). Pro-environmental behavior included the following actions: using public transportation, recycling, reducing the use of disposable products, and saving water and power. T-test and moderation analysis were conducted. Results showed that the younger group was more likely to be aware of climate change than the older group (F=68.022, p< 0.01). However, older adults were less likely than younger adults to make food waste and save water and electricity more (p< 0.01). There were no age differences in recycling, which is a representative environmental protection behavior. Results from a moderation analysis revealed that younger adults made more effort to recycle in the lower level of climate change awareness whereas older adults made more effort to recycle in the higher level (B = .031, p< 0.01). The findings indicate that older adults may play a crucial role in taking action to respond to climate change and suggest that promoting awareness of climate change among older adults could be an effective strategy to encourage pro-environmental behavior.

Environmental Credit Constraints and the Enterprise Choice of Environmental Protection Behavior

Choosing appropriate environmental protection strategies is important in improving enterprises’ economic and environmental performance. Based on the data of A-share listed enterprises from 2009 to 2019 in China, this paper uses the difference-in-differences model to identify the effects of environmental credit constraints on the enterprise choice of environmental protection behavior. We find that environmental credit constraints motivate some enterprises to choose active environmental behavior due to the incentive effect of environmental credit constraints on R&D investments. However, some enterprises may adopt evasive strategies because environmental credit constraints increase production costs and debt. State-owned enterprises prefer active environmental protection strategies to address environmental credit constraints, while private enterprises mainly adopt evasive strategies. Environmental credit constraints make high-interest and high-profitability enterprises choose active environmental strategies. Environmental credit constraints generated by enterprises’ evasive environmental behavior increase the probability of litigation and arbitration cases, and environmental credit system construction in the short term may exacerbate unemployment, which the government needs to pay attention to when developing and implementing a blacklist system for environmental fraud. Although there are limitations in this paper in terms of research objectives and samples, the results are important for improving the environmental management system and the operating performance of enterprises.

Explore public concerns about environmental protection on Sina Weibo: evidence from text mining.

The increasingly serious problem of ecological environmental pollution warns the importance of human environmental protection behavior. However, public attention to environmental protection plays an important role in solving environmental problems. Therefore, in order to explore the environmental concerns of Chinese residents, the trends in time and space, the relationship between online retweets, and the extraction of environmental concerns, this study analyzed the data of Sina Weibo users and their comments on related posts. At the same time, we used the text mining analysis method to analyze the social media text data, and the results are as follows. In that analysis of concern about environmental protection, women show a stronger attitude and willingness to protect the environment than men, and the public in economically developed areas is more concerned. In order to further investigate the public's environmental concerns, this study also utilized the PageRank algorithm to further study the forwarding relationships between users. The study found that celebrities and some good media organizations can attract environmental attention. Finally, we use pyLDAvis technology to visualize and analyze popular environmental themes and propose reasonable countermeasures and suggestions to enhance public environmental awareness based on the research results.

Systematic Literature Review: Antecedents that Influence an Employee's Pro-Environmental Behavior in the Workplace

This study aims to discuss the premise and consequences of environmental protection behavior in the service industry from 2003 to 2023. The main factors affecting environmental protection behavior include factors. external and internal factors of the individual. In particular, this study looks at demographic and psychological factors on the inner side of the individual. The main objective of this study was to review the literature (published research) on the impact, relationship and interplay on pro-environmental behavior of each factor variable. The identification of pro-environment determinants is useful for developing the most appropriate and effective policies to improve people's behavior in protecting the natural environment.

A new generation of consumers? A study on the pro-environmental behavior of the Fridays for Future generation based on the social identity approach

Especially for the younger generation, climate change is a threat, and therefore, environmental protection and pro-environmental behavior (PEB) are most important. The Fridays for Future movement speaks up for the young generation. Based on the social identity approach, the study is the first to investigate the role of stereotypes related to identification with the movement as a political expression of youth. Using structural equation modeling (n = 543), the study demonstrates that identification is higher when pupils connect the movement with positive stereotypes, aligning with previous research findings for other activists, such as feminists. Whereby environmental concern has an additionally significant but low impact on identification, pro-material value orientation has no effect. Furthermore, the study investigates the relationship between identification with the movement and different types of PEB. The relationship is strongest with public sphere PEB in the form of future participation in a demonstration of the movement. Nevertheless, there is also a positive relationship with private sphere PEB such as nature-compatible actions in everyday life, for example, a meat-free diet and buying an environmentally friendly product. This is partly additionally confirmed through a conjoint analysis also conducted as part of the study. These findings enhance the understanding of the relationship between activism and different types of PEB among pupils and they contribute to closing this research gap. Finally, the implications and limitations of the work are discussed, along with an outlook for future research.

Research on Ecological Compensation Index System Based on Value Realization of Ecological Products

The realization of the value of ecological products is a hot topic in the field of environmental accounting in recent years. With the continuous advancement of human economic activities, it has a series of impacts on the ecological environment, so it is necessary to conduct research on ecological compensation. Based on the perspective of realizing the value of ecological products, this paper constructs an ecological compensation index system through AHP model, and uses DPSR model to analyze the operating mechanism between economic activities and ecological environment. Finally, the following conclusions are reached: (1) Human economic activities and ecological environment jointly build an ecological economic system, which presents the operation mechanism of "D (Driving force) -P (Pressure) -S (State) -R (Response)". Human activities generate system driving force and environmental pressure, and when the carrying capacity of the system state is exceeded, human will produce environmental protection and other response behaviors. (2) Because human economic activities need to make ecological compensation to the ecological economic system. Through the value realization mechanism of ecological products, the efficiency of ecological compensation can be improved, and it is conducive to the efficient and coordinated operation of the ecological economic system.

Local government centralization and corporate ESG performance: Evidence from China’s county-to-district reform

As a city–county consolidation with Chinese characteristics, China’s county-to-district (CtD) reform transfers a county’s autonomy to a city, thereby strengthening the administrative, decision-making, fiscal and other powers of the prefecture-level municipal government, which effectively enables the centralization of local governments. Based on this exogenous quasi-natural experiment, we use a difference-in-differences (DID) approach to empirically examine the impact of prefecture-level municipal government centralization on companies’ ESG performance. The results show that municipal government centralization can significantly promote corporate ESG performance, which represents environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance behavior. The mechanism analysis also shows that the CtD reform can address market segmentation, alleviate policy uncertainty and reduce rent-seeking, which further improves ESG performance.

Return Strategy of E-Commerce Platform Based on Green and Sustainable Development

The secondary packaging and secondary transportation caused by products’ online return lead to a large amount of resource waste and environmental damage, which are not conducive to the green and sustainable development of enterprises. As consumers become more aware of environmental protection, their purchase and return behaviors will also change, prompting e-commerce platforms to adjust their return strategies. In this context, this paper aims to study the optimal return strategy that balances enterprises’ social benefits and environmental impact. The Stackelberg game models are constructed based on two behaviors: environmental protection publicity of e-commerce platforms and consumer return. The impacts of return strategies on the environment and the benefits of supply chain members are investigated. Results show that environmental protection publicity and return compensation can stimulate the expected sales volume. The optimal environmental protection publicity depends on the return rate. When the return rate is high, and the repurchase price is low, the optimal decision of the e-commerce platform is not to introduce return freight insurance so as to maintain its own benefits and reduce the environmental impact.

How environmental leadership shapes green innovation performance: A resource-based view

Considering rapid climate change and its effects, an increasing number of enterprises are paying more attention to environmental protection behavior in order to realize their green innovation activities. However, environmental leadership is critical for delivering green innovation in business and industry. As such, can environmental leadership promote the green innovation performance of enterprises? If so, what is the influence mechanism? In the previous research on environmental leadership, the impact of environmental leadership on the green innovation performance of enterprises had not yet been effectively explored. Therefore, drawing on a resource-based view, this study explored the mechanism through which environmental leadership influences a firm's green innovation performance. In this study, with the help of the mature scale at home and abroad, variables were measured, and the relationship between variables was verified by multiple regression analysis using samples collected from 224 heavy-polluting enterprises in western China at multiple time points. It was found that (1) environmental leadership has significant positive effects on green product innovation performance and green process innovation performance; (2) proactive environmental strategies partly mediate the relationships between environmental leadership and green product, as well as green process innovation performance; and (3) a firm's organizational structure positively moderates the relationship between environmental leadership and proactive environmental strategies. Therefore, the results of our study provide theoretical and practical contributions for research on environmental leadership and proactive environmental strategies.

How public attention drives corporate environmental protection: Effects and channels

Elucidating how public attention drives corporate environmental protection behavior is critical for sustainable development. Thus, this study constructs an instrumental variable for public attention and also regresses the related effects and channels of public attention in China. The sample includes the pollution-intensive listed enterprises on the Chinese Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange from 2011 to 2019. The empirical results suggest that, increasing public environmental awareness significantly reduces production by 0.06 % in enterprises with high consumer pressure, and green innovation in enterprises with high investor pressure increases significantly by 0.12 %. The public achieves this effect through direct and indirect channels. Public attention directly drives corporate behavior due to pressure from consumers and investors. Moreover, public attention promotes environmental policies aimed at state-owned enterprises and indirectly drives corporate behavior. These findings demonstrate the significant role of the public during green process, and highlight the channels to maximize the public impacts for policymakers.

Research on Motivational Mechanisms and Pathways for Promoting Public Participation in Environmental Protection Behavior.

Public participation in environmental protection is an essential component of evaluating the effectiveness of ecological and environmental protection. General awareness, social dynamics, and cognitive preferences frequently impact the protection's impact. The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation research on the confluence of mainstream awareness, social factors, and cognitive preferences by building a theoretical model. First, this work employs partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Second, using the mediation model, the research describes and examines the factors that motivate public involvement in ecological and environmental conservation. Third, the research summarizes the suggested path countermeasures to offer practical advice and helpful ecological and environmental protection solutions. The findings demonstrate that mainstream policy leadership substantially impacts environmental conservation. Leadership in policy matters restricts the group's natural awareness of social factors. The subjective quality and competence basis in cognitive preferences are significantly influenced by policy leadership. Policy leadership significantly influences the effectiveness of environmental protection through the mediating factor of cognitive preferences. The ability base has a considerable mediating effect on cognitive preferences.

Corporate Environmental Protection Behavior and Sustainable Development: The Moderating Role of Green Investors and Green Executive Cognition

Faced with serious environmental problems, companies have become important participants in environmental protection efforts. By assuming environmental responsibilities and pursuing environmental protection, enterprises can create a good image, gain public and government support, and expand their influence. Simultaneously, green executive cognition and green investors play important roles in enterprises and the market economy. This study examines whether the environmental protection behavior of enterprises has a positive impact on their sustainable development, and how green investors and green executive cognition affect the relationship between environmental protection and sustainable development. This study adopts a fixed effects regression method to research Chinese A-share listed companies in 2011-2020. The results show that enterprises' performance regarding environmental responsibilities or investment promotes sustainable development. The higher the participation of green investors or the higher the awareness of green executives, the more the environmental responsibility performance and environmental investment promote enterprises' sustainable development. This study enriches the literature on the environmental protection behavior of enterprises and the sustainable development of enterprises as well as provides a theoretical foundation for related research. Moreover, the role of green investors and green executive cognition in promoting environmental protection and the sustainable development of enterprises will inspire investors and executives.

Research on the Impact and Spillover Effect of Green Agricultural Reform Policy Pilot on Governmental Environmental Protection Behaviors Based on Quasi-Natural Experiments of China’s Two Provinces from 2012 to 2020

The green agricultural reform policy pilot embraces the development trend of the times. The green agricultural policy pilot implemented in China’s Zhejiang Province is an attempt to find a balance between environmental protection and economic development in order to achieve the national “dual carbon” goals. Have the goals been achieved? Zhejiang Province is the national pilot zone of green agricultural development. Jiangsu Province is notably homogeneous with Zhejiang Province but has not been included in the pilot policy. Based on the comparative studies of the two provinces with quasi-natural experiment logic, this paper analyzes the mechanism of the national green agricultural pilot zone policy acting on the environmental protection behavior of local governments and the actual effect of such policy using the data of 22 cities in both provinces from 2012 and 2020 as the panel data and relying on the DID model. According to the research findings, the national green agricultural development pilot zone policy has significantly increased the investment of local governments in environmental protection in Zhejiang Province where the policy has been fully implemented, and the negative spillover effect has reduced the economic governance efficiency of local governments in the short term. However, the investment of local governments in Jiangsu Province where the policy has not been fully implemented has not increased significantly and the economic governance efficiency has not reduced significantly. Double robustness tests based on the parallel trend test and DID-PSM (Differences-In-Differences and Propensity Score Matching) have verified the reliability of the research findings. Both Zhejiang and Jiangsu are provinces with developed industrial economies. Agriculture only accounts for a small proportion of their GDP. In addition, there is a natural conflict between green agriculture and industrial manufacturing in these two provinces. However, for those provinces dominated by agriculture or tourism, the effect of such green agricultural development policy may be different, which requires follow-up deeper research in an effort to thoroughly learn about the impact of agricultural policy pilot on local environmental protection behaviors, especially economic performance.

A Study on Farmers' Participation in Environmental Protection in the Context of Rural Revitalization: The Moderating Role of Policy Environment.

This study investigates the environmental protection behavior of farmers in the Guanzhong Plain region and the factors influencing their participation, in order to improve the enthusiasm of farmers' participation and promote the formation of "good governance" in rural ecological environments. Based on interviews with 295 farmers, the influence of psychological cognitive factors on farmers' intention and behavior to participate in environmental protection was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling under the extended theory of planned behavior, and the moderating effect of policy environment in the relationship between farmers' intention to participate and participation behavior was revealed. The research results show that: (1) The current situation of farmers' participation in environmental protection is generally characterized by "strong intentions and weak actions". (2) Participation consciousness and benefit perception have a greater impact on farmers' intention to participate in environmental protection, perceived behavioral control has a smaller impact, and subjective norms do not have a significant impact. (3) Perceived behavioral control and participation intention have a greater influence on farmers' participation in environmental protection behavior, subjective norms have less influence, and there is no direct influence of perceived benefits and participation awareness on farmers' participation behavior, i.e., farmers' participation intention has indirect influence on participation behavior. (4) The moderating effect of policy environment indicates that policy environment has a significant positive effect on the relationship between farmers' participation intention and participation behavior.

How does the perceived green human resource management impact employee's green innovative behavior? -From the perspective of theory of planned behavior.

Employees' green innovative behavior encouraged by enterprises plays an important role in the enterprise sustainable development. The study explores the impact of perceived green human resource management on employees' innovative behavior. Drawing upon the planned behavior theory, this study examines how perceived green human resource management impact employees' green innovation behavior. Through three-stage questionnaire survey, 207 samples are obtained and hierarchical regression is employed to test the hypothesis., Data analysis results show that perceived green human resource management has a directly positive effect on employees' green innovative behavior. Green behavior intention, self-efficacy of environmental protection behavior, and identity with the company's green environmental protection system are the mediators between perceived green human resource management and employees' green innovative behavior. Meanwhile, the results demonstrate that there is a chain mediating relationship among these variables. In addition, green supply chain management moderates the relationship between the identity of a green environmental protection system and employees' green innovative behavior. These conclusions transcend the macro perspective and open the black box between green human resource management and enterprise performance. Enterprise should take a holistic view to play the role of green human resource management and supply chain management in the implementation of environmental strategy.
