Metode Pembelajaran English Fun Dengan Short Movie Di SDN 004 Sepaku

The English Fun learning method is one of the methods for teaching English. English is one of the most widely used languages in the world across various fields. The lack of interest among children in learning English is very concerning. The implementation team aims to introduce an enjoyable and engaging English learning method, especially for elementary school children. The program conducted is called English Fun, utilizing short movies as its medium. This program aims to increase children's interest in learning English through the English Fun method. The activity was carried out on February 15, 2024, at SDN 004 Sepaku, Desa Bukit Raya. This activity was targeted at 36 third-grade students. The results of the community service activity conducted at SDN 004 Sepaku provided significant and necessary benefits to the students at the school, namely an increase in their interest in learning English.

The most suitable English learning methods for young learners

The aim of this article was to know the most suitable and effective methods to apply to young learners as elementary graders. The researcher got 17 female and male students. Their grade varied from class 1 to class 6. Before conducting this study, the problems faced by the students are they seemed got difficulty memorizing English words, lacked motivation, and lacked concentration in learning English. There were 3 methods used in this study: Grammar Translation Method (GTM), Audio Lingual Method, dan Total Physical Response. The students were taught English once a week. The researcher observed the effectiveness of each method in each meeting. Those methods were used all together in each learning process. The finding showed that GTM was not effective to apply, while the two latter were good and effective to apply for those students.

Ethnic Minority Students’ English Learning Agency: An Activity Theory Perspective

Abstract Recent years have witnessed a growing body of research on the English learning of ethnic minority students in China, yet little is known as to how these students enact their agency to address the challenges they encounter in learning English. Through the lens of activity theory, this qualitative case study explored the manifestations and influencing factors of English learning agency of four first-year Uyghur university students. Data were collected through the students’ journals, interviews, and documents, supplemented by the interview data from their teachers. The findings revealed that Uyghur students’ English learning agency was manifested by reflecting on the gap btween themselves and their Han classmates and adjusting their English learning methods; adapting to the mode of all-English teaching and the rule of English presentation; using tools such as the Mandarin Chinese, English learning apps and the Internet; and seeking help from teachers, peers and other community members. The study also found that Uyghur students’ agency was influenced by factors such as language proficiency, motivation, and personal learning experiences. Additionally, preferential policies of the state and the school, help from teachers and peers, and emotional support from family members also had an impact on their English learning agency. This study provides implications for the English teaching of ethnic minority students at universities.

Pelatihan Pengajaran Bahasa Inggris Dasar Menggunakan Metode TPR (Total Physical Response) sebagai Solusi Pembelajaran bagi Guru TK di KB/TK Nasrullah

Choosing the right English learning method for early childhood is very important. At an early age, children's development is in a concrete phase. Therefore, the learning process applied to early childhood education must be based on something real or tangible in accordance with the learning objectives, which is to convey basic concepts that have meaning through real experiences, in order to enhance the creativity, memory, and curiosity of the child. The Community Service Program (PKM) involves a series of structured stages. First, observation and survey of the location where the PKM activities will be carried out to ensure all necessary preparations. As a plan to fully implement this activity, it will be divided into two parts. First, a final evaluation will be conducted on the training that has taken place. The final step is to prepare a final report summarizing the entire program journey, including objectives, methods, findings, and recommendations for the future.

Research on Personalized English Language Learning Based on Artificial Intelligence

Abstract Although AI technology has been widely utilized in many fields and has reaped good reviews. However, there is a vacancy in the education field for AI technology to achieve personalized recommendations for the English language. In this paper, based on the traditional cognitive diagnostic model, we propose optimizing two aspects, namely question type and mastery state. Combining the neighborhood recommendation algorithm, the English learning recommendation model is constructed using fuzzy cognitive diagnosis. Based on the theory of adaptive learning, we have designed a personalized bank of recommended English learning questions. The model is utilized in the real world of English learning, and a control experiment is designed to evaluate the student’s knowledge mastery and the impact of the model application. The experiment shows that student A has a better mastery of S1 and S3, with mastery levels of 0.856 and 0.815, respectively, but only 0.235 for S4, and needs to customize a more targeted personalized learning plan and strategy for S4-related content. The average scores of D1 and D2 before practice were 73.51 and 72.18, and after practicing through the personalized recommending English learning methods proposed in this paper, the English score of the D2 class was improved to 85.33, and the t-test result between the two groups was significant p-value of 0.002, which is less than 0.01, indicating that there is a significant difference between the two groups and that the model proposed in this paper has a significant enhancement on English learning.

Research and Analysis of Factors Influencing the Passing Rate of CET-4 in Local Universities

With the rapid development of social information and economic globalization, English has become widely prevalent worldwide. As a "global language," English significantly influences language teaching policies and practices globally, particularly in China, where a national College English Test Band-4 has been established. Since its inception, the College English Test Band-4 has evolved into one of the most crucial assessments for evaluating college students’ foreign language proficiency. Recently, a growing number of local university students in China are grappling with the challenge of failing to pass this exam. Therefore, this study examines the influencing factors on the passing rate of the College English Test Band-4, based on surveys conducted among undergraduate students in 2020 and 2021 at Hulunbuir College. The paper employs cross-analysis and regression tests to analyze the factors affecting the passing rate of CET-4 among local undergraduate college students, drawing relevant conclusions. Additionally, the study proposes suggestions for English learning strategies tailored to the needs of local undergraduate college students. Factors such as gender, English scores in the college entrance examination, and daily English learning methods are identified as having a significant impact on the passing rate of CET-4.

PEMBINAAN PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOSAKATA MELALUI FUN ENGLISH LEARNING

This community service program aims to introduce English vocabulary learning among early childhood or children in the Kindergarten/TPA of Balle Village. The teaching method used in this activity is through the Fun English Learning method, which means teaching English to children who have a fun English learning concept. It includes learning activities using songs and games. The results of this program show that the participants have started to have fun learning English and that students' vocabulary and understanding of English vocabulary have increased compared to the beginning of the meeting. Even though there are still mistakes, they have started to be confident and don't feel ashamed.

Implementation of Developing English Learning Methods Through Audio Visual Technology for Student of Elementary School in Bangkalan Subdistrict

The primary goal of this research is to create educational videos with both auditory and visual elements to improve the overall learning experience, focusing on English lessons for 3rd-grade elementary students. By utilizing learning media, the teaching and learning process becomes easier and more engaging, enabling students to grasp the subject matter effortlessly. Additionally, it enhances learning efficiency as it aligns with the predetermined learning objectives. This research follows the Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE model development framework. Based on the questionnaire results, a score of 80% was obtained, leading to the conclusion that this audio-visual media is 'very good' for enhancing the quality of English education in the Student of Elementary School in Bangkalan Subdistrict.

Teaching Material and Method toward English Students at Vocational High School

This research aimed to analyze the English learning method toward students at SMK Hafsawaty Zainul Genggong Probolinggo and found out which material are relevant to their needs. This research used a qualitative research involving twenty students and English teachers at SMK Hafsawaty Zainul Hasan Genggong. Data obtained by using interviews, questionnaires, documentation, then analyzed using qualitative data analysis method. The interview was purposed for an English teacher and the questionnaire was filled by twenty students. The result of this research found that the students could be easy to understand the material that deliver by the teacher. It proved that the teaching method applied by the teacher was appropriate for the students need. From the teaching material, the school had to develop the education system by considering the teaching material needs for the vocational students. Then, when viewed from the needs, the material has not focused on the needs of students majoring in Islamic banking. However, English for specific purposes have to consider the material need for the students.

Using Games to Learn English for Young Learners in Darussalam Elementary school

There are lots of schools in Indonesia still use conventional learning method in learning English. That is still using the book as a medium of learning. Learning English using games is still minimal and rarely uses technology as a learning medium. Using games can be used as an alternative learning media that can make the learning process more effective, engaging, and fun. This research aims to develop learning English by using games for young learners. The author uses a case study method to describe and analyze using games at a private school in Darussalam elementary school. The findings of this study are: (1) Students can improve their English skills by using games that have several values that are by student learning which make the game more suitable to be used as a medium for learning English in the classroom for students. With special needs; (2) There are some visible results through the game. First, learning styles suit students so that they feel interested in learning. Second, motivation and background affect each student's learning progress, especially in English.

Analysis of the Effect of the English Learning Method on Student’s Learning Interest in Madrasah Aliyah Laboratorium State Islamic University of North Sumatra Medan

In this research journal, the author analyzes the interest of Madrasah Aliyah Laboratorium State Islamic University of North Sumatra Medan students in learning English Language in class. The focus of this research is to find some defening factors that faced students in learning English Language. The study is done by taking students randomly from the Madrasah Aliyah Laboratorium State Islamic University of North Sumatra Medan. This study uses a classical and individual approach in collecting qualitative and quantitative data. The data obtained were obtained from the results of student learning exploration in the classroom and conducting interviews with students. The results show that the determinant of increasing or decreasing students interest in learning English in class is determined by the method used by the teacher in learning and the completeness of learning facilities. In connection with the research results obtained, it is suggested that teachers can use learning methods that are preferred by students so that students get a high sense of motivation to learn English in the classroom.

Pemanfaatan Metode Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris melalui Media Lagu-lagu untuk Siswa

English is a language that the whole world has started to learn. Thus the language is also called an international language. In addition, this language has become one of the subjects taught to students in schools, institutions up to universities. Song media will motivate and increase students' learning interest in order to create a pleasant learning atmosphere so that students can understand the material easily. The purpose of this research is to improve English learning methods through song media. The results of this study are that learning English through songs can be a powerful means of improving students' memory and ability to speak English. Song media also influences students' pronunciation and listening skills. this can be proven by the ease with which songs are followed and remembered by students so that the language will stick with itself.

CAMPUR KODE DAN ALIH KODE PADA PEMBELAJARAN BASIC ENGLISH BAGI MAHASISWA/I DI LABUAN BAJO

This research aims to describe the application of code-mixing and code-switching as one of English learning methods in Politeknik eLBajo Commodus, particularly in Basic English Class. The method of this research is field observation during the time of Basic English. Several example speeches which contain code-mixing and code-switching during the class are used as the data. The data is then analyzed by the theory to find out the contexts and types of code-mixing and code-switching that happened in the Basic English Class. The result shows that code-mixing is used in some contexts, such as in welcome greeting, small talk before the class starts, to open the lecture, while giving the lecture, and interact with each other in the class. All those are outer code-mixing. As for code-switching, there are situational and metaphoris code-switching, and both in insertion and alternation. The code-switching is used when the students still use bahasa Indonesia more often. When there are students that do not understand the questions, and as a translation from bahasa Indonesia, if needed, code-switching is applied. This research shows that the code-mixing and code-switching can be used as English teaching method and the lecturer must control the use itself so that English is still being the main language in the English class.

Exploring the Use of Digital Technology in English Language Teaching: Strategies and Methods for Effective Implementation

The globalization of technology, including education, has impacted all facets of life. Therefore, English learning strategies must be studied so teachers can easily choose and determine English learning strategies for teaching students digital base technology. This research aims to describe (1). Digital technology in the world of education; (2). Digital technology-based English learning methods; (3). Digital technology in the development of language learning skills. Hence, this study applied library research methods through gathering research article by utilizing Publish-or-Perish application. The results of this study are (1). Technology supporting education is expected to assist students and educators in carrying out teaching and learning activities in schools; (2). At this time, many English learning methods have been integrated with digital technology. Such as utilizing digital technology using the direct method and others; (3). The use of digital technology is also used in developing students' English skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), for example, the use of YouTube videos, digital posters, digital comics, and Grammarly tools. Henceforth, this study urges the ELT teachers to leverage their digital technology competences as well as their pedagogy to attend meaningful and engaging learning for their students.

Student Perceptions on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in Learning to Speak English of Tenth-Grade at SMA Swasta Masehi GBKP Berastagi

This study focuses on describing the perceptions of tenth grade students in learning Problem Based Learning in English-speaking classes at SMS Swasta Masehi GBKP Berastagi. This study was a mixed method study. Data collection in this study was carried out through questionnaires and interviews. The results of data analysis confirm that: (1) All students of class ten IPA-1 SMA Swasta Masehi GBKP Berastagi have a fairly satisfied perception of problem-based learning method in learning English in the oral class. (2) Problem based learning increase students’ confidence to speak English either by presenting or discussing with friends. (3) Some introvert students have a little problem in the problem-based method but can be tricked by the teacher occasionally giving problems to be solved privately. (4) English teachers who teach in class ten IPA-1 SMA Swasta Masehi GBKP Berastagi feel an increase in students' desire to learn English at every meeting. Problem-based learning is encouraged in enhancing students speaking skill.

The Use of Self-Recording Videos as ESL Learning Method in Increasing English Learning Performance

The use of Technology-based learning is currently tended to massively used in a variety of activities in schools and universities. SRV is designed to become an effective English learning method that can promote the students learning performance. This research aims at assessing or investigating the effectiveness of using SRV (Self-Recording Videos) in the university students of the Engineerings department, at the university of Bumigora. It was carried out by a quantitative research method which is descriptively statistically analyzed along with a number of samples are 14 students. This research’s sampling technique was carried out through a simple random technique, then it was accounted the sample’s number by using Slovin’s technique. The instrument of data collection used is a questionnaire consisting of 9 items, then the reliability of the instrument was tested, in which the Cronbach alpha value (0.721 > 0.60), showing that the questionnaire is reliable. The quantitative data were descriptively analyzed by using a t-test. This study suggests that the use of Self-Recording Videos (SRV) affected students’ English learning performance by assessing the average score. It is obtained that the average score is 0.8476/84.76%. In conclusion, SRV is an effective English learning method for enhancing students’ English performance.

Teachers’ creativity in applying English teaching methods

The goal of this research is to determine creativity of teachers in applying English learning method. This research was carried out on 2 English teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Botumoito. A descriptive qualitative type was employed in this research with data collection techniques using semi-structured interviews. The results reveal that 2 English teachers who teach class 1 and class 2 at SMPN 1 Botumoito use various learning methods, those are: 1) discovery learning, 2) scientific learning, 3) question and answer/discussion, 4) project based learning, 5) roleplay, 6) demonstration, 7) and recitation method. From the implementation of all methods, teachers modify the stages according to learning materials, learning objectives and students’ needs. The combination of the above methods affects skills and enthusiasm of the students in responding to learning. Then, at evaluation stage the teachers apply various way including giving assignments to the students to see how active they are in asking and answering during the learning process.

Investigating Students’ Perceptions on E-Learning Materials and Tools for English for MICE

Students in vocational higher education find difficulties in joining practical courses, such as English for MICE in post-pandemic era of COVID-19. That course offers students ability to practice and held events in Meeting, Incentive Travels, Conventions, and Exhibitions. Some recent studies have examined that similar problem by using various learning method in English for MICE course. Most of them didn’t mention about the case of students’ perceptions on English for MICE course. This study offers case study that investigate students’ perceptions on e-learning materials and tools for English for MICE course. The research subjects were 20 students, in D-IV English for Tourism Industry, State Polytechnic of Malang. The results of questionnaire showed that e-learning materials and tools are the best solutions for English for MICE course. However, mostly students experienced difficulties about lacks of internet connection, but this problem obviously solved well by lecturers and students in English for MICE course. The implication of this study is that by investigating students’ perceptions on that problem, it can minimize the challenges in teaching English for MICE in post-pandemic era of COVID-19.

Analysis of Business Strategy Based on User Behavior: A Case Study of the Impact of Micro-Blog Marketing on Contemporary Students’ Choice of English Learning Style

In the first quarter of 2019, Micro-blog’s financial marketing revenue reached 2.68 billion yuan, of which advertising revenue reached 2.29 billion yuan, and Micro-blog marketing became an important part of Micro-blog. Students are an important user of Micro-blog and an important target of Micro-blog marketing, in the face of the existence of a variety of English learning methods and diversified microblog marketing methods in Micro-blog, how students view the marketing methods of Micro-blog, how to respond, is an important basis for Micro-blog and enterprises in Micro-blog marketing to formulate corresponding business strategies. This article consists of three chapters. Chapter 1 first introduces the current situation of contemporary students’ choice behavior and analyzes the attitude and impact of contemporary students on microblog marketing through the current situation and questionnaire survey data. Chapter 2 combines Chapter 4’s students’ attitudes and behaviors towards microblog marketing and puts forward suggestions for improving microblog platforms and microblog businesses. Chapter 3 is the concluding part, through analysis, the article believes that advertising is the main source of microblog income, operators should pay attention to maintaining the credibility of the platform when making business strategies, create a good community environment, and severely crack down on false advertising and malicious marketing. Under the premise of ensuring authenticity, enterprises can use celebrity effect, herd psychology and other means to achieve their commercial goals. In addition, Chapter 3 also points out the insufficient analysis of microblog marketing forms and the lack of relevant data and puts forward suggestions for improvement such as multi-angle research and supplementary data.
