Optimization of an Innovative Design System for Han Embroidery Dresses Based on Image Matching Method

Through an examination of the historical trajectory of Han embroidery, this paper introduces an innovative design approach grounded in multimedia information gathering techniques. By advocating for increased attention to Han embroidery elements in attire, the study aims to stimulate broader interest in its design and application. Embracing cultural confidence as a guiding principle, the research delves into the nuances of innovative Han embroidery gown design, spanning color, pattern, and style considerations. Through this inquiry, the paper seeks to offer insights that expedite and enhance the evolution of Han embroidery design.

Development of textile switch using conductive embroidery on pre-stretched fabric

In this study, a novel production method for textile switches has been developed using conductive embroidery on pre-stretched fabric. A specially designed fixtures that can stretch and fix the fabric were prepared using 3D printing. Embroidery technique was used for selective stiffening to form three-dimensional shape. The relationship between embroidery design parameters and the physical properties of resulting textile switch has been investigated. An automated testing device has been developed to assess the reliability of textile switches. Test results showed that the textile switches developed in this study maintained their functionalities even after 30,000 clicks, providing perceptible haptic feedback to users.

Assessment of Hand Grip Strength and Pinch Grip Strength among Healthy Embroidery Workers: Cross-Sectional Study

Background: Embroidery is a craft that decorates fabric or other materials by using a needle to apply thread or yarn. Hand and finger strength is essential during embroidery design to minimize discomfort and risk of upper extremity injuries Aims and objective: This study aims to assess hand grip strength and pinch grip strength among healthy embroidery workers. Methodology: 100 embroidery workers were recruited. Demographic details including BMI were taken in self-designed form. Hand grip strength was assessed by Jamar Hand Held Dynamometer. Pinch grip strength was assessed by a Pinch Guage Dynamometer. Statistical analysis was done using the Python software. Results: The study included 100 subjects that involved all female subjects aged 20 to 40 yrs. with 4 or more than 4 years of experience. The study showed that the hand grip strength of embroidery workers was more affected than the pinch grip strength. This study also showed that age is not related to the hand grip and pinch grip strength. It also showed that an increase in the years of experience increases hand grip and pinch grip strength (p< 0.05) as well as grip strength was more in the dominant hand(p<0.0001). Conclusion: Hand grip strength was found to be affected more than the pinch grip strength. They found no correlation with the age and there was a correlation with years of experience. Development of Embroidery Design Skills Program for Children with Hearing Impairment

Vocational education is also often referred to as skills. One of them is fashion skills, which is a discipline and art regarding the application of aesthetic design, and natural beauty to clothing and its additional decoration. This research aims to create a program on learning fashion skills in embroidery design for teachers and students with hearing impairments. The approach used in this research is research and development with exploratory mixed method research design and at the program trial stage researchers use experimental methods with single subject research design (A-B-A). The results of a good learning program trial lead students to have a good learning experience, the program that has been made shows that the program can be useful and useful, especially for students. The results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration for teachers in providing learning fashion skills in embroidery design to students.

Design and Fabrication of Embroidered Textile Strain Sensors: An Alternative to Stitch-Based Strain Sensors.

Smart textile sensors have been gaining popularity as alternative methods for the continuous monitoring of human motion. Multiple methods of fabrication for these textile sensors have been proposed, but the simpler ones include stitching or embroidering the conductive thread onto an elastic fabric to create a strain sensor. Although multiple studies have demonstrated the efficacy of textile sensors using the stitching technique, there is almost little to no information regarding the fabrication of textile strain sensors using the embroidery method. In this paper, a design guide for the fabrication of an embroidered resistive textile strain sensor is presented. All of the required design steps are explained, as well as the different embroidery design parameters and their optimal values. Finally, three embroidered textile strain sensors were created using these design steps. These sensors are based on the principle of superposition and were fabricated using a stainless-steel conductive thread embroidered onto a polyester-rubber elastic knit structure. The three sensors demonstrated an average gauge factor of 1.88±0.51 over a 26% working range, low hysteresis (8.54±2.66%), and good repeatability after being pre-stretched over a certain number of stretching cycles.

Programming to create machine embroidery design

The article describes the possibilities and pedagogical potential of the TurtleStitch cloud platform for introducing schoolchildren to the use of programming to create a machine embroidery design. Algorithms for several embroidery designs are given. The materials presented on the Internet about working in TurtleStitch are exclusively in foreign languages, so the content of this article will be useful for teachers teaching extracurricular activities at school, teachers of technology and informatics for an initial acquaintance with this platform. The information presented in the article can form the basis of developmental programming classes in the TurtleStitch environment from grades 2 to 11. Acquaintance of schoolchildren with the programmatic method of creating a machine embroidery design based on this article will help students expand their understanding of the areas of application of programming, develop their skills in the practical application of programming, and the ability to use information technology to solve creative problems.

Computer Aided DIY Design of Stylized Generation of Random Needle Embroidery

Random stitch embroidery uses jagged and crossed lines to represent the painting and embroidery principles of an image. It requires the embroiderer to repeatedly scrutinize the embroidery techniques, operating steps, and predict the effects of embroidery. The embroidery has very personal artistic characteristics. In order to solve the problem of high difficulty in designing random stitch embroidery, long creation time, and difficulty in pre-viewing the effect, an interactive tool is proposed to assist users in DIY design of random stitch embroidery. By generating creation preview images and marked embroidery drafts, users can quickly embroider their own de-signs. Input the target image as a reference for random stitch embroidery, and divide the image into sub-regions based on the clustering algorithm for detailed drawing. Build a single stitch model and a multi-layer stitch model based on the texture characteristics of the object, and set the corresponding length, orientation, density, thickness and other parameters to the desired texture. Based on the image style, an interactive reconstruction using vector field rendering technology and lighting simulation technology are constructed for users to carry out DIY design and effect previews. Based on the CorelDraw platform, a DIY drawing system for random stitch embroidery and a draft generation system are developed, a human-computer interaction interface is designed, and case simulations are carried out. The experimental results show that proposed tool improves the efficiency and creativity of embroidery design. To generate a marked manuscript can also be provided to random needle embroidery beginners, to facilitate their rapid grasp of the random needle embroidery drawing methods and skills.

Study of the optimization of embroidery design parameters for the Technical Embroidery Machine: derivation of the correlation between thread consumption and electrical resistance

The smart textile industry has become increasingly interested in textile products with electronic functions. In these smart textile products, sensing and data communication are conducted through conductive circuits by conductive threads. In embroidery technology that uses conductive threads as the material for the conductive line as a circuit, their resistance is an important factor when designing a product. The main purpose of this study was to derive an equivalent circuit model and a calculation equation for the consumption of conductive threads according to the embroidery design parameters. The effects of the embroidery design parameters on the appearance and electrical characteristics of the conductive line were also analyzed. The appearance and electrical characteristics of the embroidered conductive line were different when the embroidery design parameters were not the same. The calculation equation for the consumption of conductive threads could establish a quantitative system that could indicate the line resistance of an embroidered conductive line using the embroidery design parameters and the given thread resistance.

Research on the Application of Computer Embroidery Skills in Modern Chinese Fashion Design

Chinese traditional manual embroidery has a long history, which is one of the important intangible cultural heritage in China. However, with the increasing social demand for embroidery, the traditional manual embroidery production capacity is too small and the price is high, computer embroidery and embroidery technology has an important market. With the optimization of artificial intelligence algorithms such as deep learning, computer embroidery skills have been gradually optimized, which has replaced manual embroidery in some aspects. In the clothing industry, computer embroidery skills have been widely developed. Through computer technology, designers can carry out three-dimensional modeling design, which is not achieved by traditional plane decoration. Therefore, computer embroidery technology can be gradually applied to the behavior and social factors of modern society, which will encourage the inheritance of national costume culture. First of all, this paper analyzes the current computer embroidery design. Then, this paper analyzes the steps of computer embroidery. Finally, this paper puts forward the application of computer embroidery techniques in modern Chinese fashion design.

Development of prediction model through linear multiple regression for the prediction of longitudinal stiffness of embroidered fabric

Embroidery through computer aided semi-automatic machines is one of the most widely used option for the surface ornamentation of apparel fabrics at present. Since the embroidery process includes addition of certain amount of embroidery-threads depending upon the design motif, it is quite obvious that basic physical and functional properties of fabric are subject to change. It is therefore important to develop an algorithm or empirical equation for proper prediction of the properties of the embroidered fabric, relevant to its required end-use in apparel industry. In this context, an effort has been made to determine a prediction equation through linear multiple regressions for the prediction of longitudinal stiffness of embroidered fabric in terms of flexural rigidity in warp direction of the base fabric, considering the input parameters as warp-way flexural rigidity of the base fabric, breaking load and linear density of the embroidery thread, stitch density, average stitch length and average stitch angle of the embroidery design. The final Prediction model is statistically verified taking new embroidery samples of different varieties. It is found that the model can predict with a very satisfactory level of accuracy. Also, the influences of the embroidery parameters in this context have been analyzed through the corresponding regression coefficients and the three dimensional (3D) surface curves. Stitch density has been emerged as the most influential parameter, followed by the stitch length and the stitch angle.

Development of prediction model through linear multiple regression for the prediction and analysis of the GSM of embroidered fabric

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to establish the regression equation based upon a set of samples prepared through structured design of experiment and form a prediction model for prediction of the areal density gram per square meter (GSM) of the embroidered fabrics and study the influence of basic input parameters.Design/methodology/approachEmbroidery samples are prepared taking input parameters as GSM of the base fabric, linear density of the embroidery thread and stitch density of the embroidery design. Three levels of values are identified for each of the input parameters. Taguchi and Box-Behnken experiment design principles are used to prepare two sets of samples. Linear multiple regression is used to determine the prediction equations based upon each of the two sets and the combined set as well. Prediction equations are statistically verified for the prediction accuracy. Also, surface curves are prepared to study the influence of embroidery parameters on the GSM.FindingsIt is found that all the three prediction models developed in this study can predict with a very satisfactory level of accuracy. However, the regression equation based upon the data set prepared according to Taguchi experiment design is emerged as the prediction model with highest level of prediction accuracy. Corresponding equation coefficients and several three-dimensional surface curves are used to study the influence of embroidery parameters and it is found that the stitch density is the most influential input parameter followed by stitch length and the GSM of base fabric.Research limitations/implicationsThis can be used to assess the GSM of embroidered fabrics before starting the actual embroidery process. So, this model can help the embroidery designers significantly to pre-estimate the GSM of the embroidered fabrics and select the design parameters accordingly. Also, this model can be a useful tool for estimation of thread consumption and thread cost in embroidery.Practical implicationsThe input parameters used here are very basic parameters related to design and materials, which can be easily available. And also, a simple linear multiple regression is used to make the prediction equation simple and easy to use. So, this model can help the embroidery designers or garment designers to select/adjust the embroidery parameters and thread parameters accordingly in the planning and designing stage itself to ensure that the GSM of embroidered fabrics remains within desirable range. Also, this prediction model developed hereby may be a very useful tool for estimation of the consumption and cost of embroidery threads.Originality/valueThis paper presents a very fundamental study to reveal the effect of embroidery parameters on the GSM, through development of regression equations. It can help future researchers in optimizations of input parameters and forming a technical guideline for the embroidery designers for selection of the design parameters for a desired GSM of embroidered fabric.

Interactive Head Control of Embroidery Machine using Embedded Web Server

This paper proposes the design and implementation of prototype model to control embroidery machine using single board ARM processor. Wilcom is the software largely used for embroidery design. Designs prepared using Wilcom software are printed and supplied to the machine for further process. The proposed prototype model extracts the design data from this software by avoiding the printing and/or scanning of the user design and the design data are supplied to ARM based prototype embroidery machine for printing. In proposed model, the pencil is used as printing head and A4 size paper is used for the printing. Further to control the head, Use of web server design is also proposed using ARM processor.

An analysis on the luminance efficiency of the machine embroidery method applied to flexible plastic optical fiber for realization of the textile display

In this research, we investigated the luminance efficiency of the computerized embroidery methods applied to flexible plastic optical fiber (POF) for realization of the textile display. Due to the nature of the flexible POF being similar to that of textile yarn, it has been possible to realize a flexible textile display by application of some adjusted fabrication methods. However, besides the simple property of flexibility, two requirements are still demanded for the flexible POF-based textile display: high luminance and the method for realization of pixels in a display. Among the fabrication methods, machine embroidery has feasibility to realize relatively higher luminance of flexible POF-based textiles through a simple procedure. The aim of this study is to evaluate of the feasibility of the embroidery method for the flexible POF-based textile display in terms of luminance, and an approach for a suitable condition in the embroidery method to realize the textile display. To do this, four embroidery methods, in which bending angles from around 90° to around 180° were applied to the flexible POF, were developed in this study. The measurement method was conducted identically on two types of POFs (flexible POFs and non-flexible POFs). The measurement points were selected in consideration of the distance from the light source and the rotation angle of the embroidery, depending on each embroidery design. Based on the resulting luminance efficiency according to the four embroidery methods, suitable conditions for the embroidery method to realize a relatively higher level of luminance for the textile display were suggested.

On the present cooperatives members are business people of small medium scale enterprises (SMEs) which need a guidance or development. The purpose of this study is to describe the role of cooperatives in small medium scale enterprises (SMEs) development. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation and interview.The results of research showed that KSU Padurenan Jaya is a multi-purpose cooperatives that has five business units i.e. save loan, store, embroidery service, marketing, research and development. KSU Padurenan Jaya was instrumental in developing the small medium scale enterprises (SMEs) embroidery and convection consists of (1) aspects of the market, by following the events of the exhibition or expo, online marketing, providing material needs in the cooperative store, and create innovative products according to consumer taste. (2) the aspect of technology, by socialization and demonstration of the use technology of embroidery machines, embroidery design with computer programs, internet information technology for promoting and marketing product, And to optimize the use of the machine by provide services embroidery using advanced machine in cooperation so that can improve the productivity and efficiency of the business. (3) the aspect of the capital, by providing save loan service with simple procedures, mentoring to access other sources of financing.

Production of Embroidered Cushion from the Safavid Period Using Different Methods on Leather

The Aim of the work in this paper is to produce a cushion leather both by handmade and machine embroidery, The design which used was from the safavid period (animal type). 100% cotton threads have been used for sewing the whole designs by the two methods (manual and machine).Needles have been used for sewing designs by the two methods (manual and machine). The machine which used is Tajima TCMX mixed type which speed reach to 700rpm, needles number was 9. The numbers of heads used were 15 for producing machine embroidery design. The material which was used in this project was leather.Analysis and discussion which include the problems were mentioned, finally the conclusion obtained were presented.

Integrating shape grammars into a generative system for Zhuang ethnic embroidery design exploration

The integration of shape grammars within a generative system is thought to have good potential to support design applications in the art and cultural domains. Based on a shape decomposing method, two-level generative shape grammars are developed within the application of Zhuang ethnic embroidery design. In our approach, free B-spline curves are used to derive initial design concepts together with a new interpolation algorithm. In order to cope with the potentially huge solution space, a novel aesthetic evaluation model and a design exploration algorithm are developed for designers to find their favorite design solutions based on their subjective assessments. A system is introduced to demonstrate this research with an example of Zhuang ethnic embroidery design.

The object of this study is as follows. First, according to the silhouette of clothes, I will search the relationship with the embroidery design. Second, I will investigate the relation of coloration about the clothes color and embroidery color. Third, I will search the relation with the image in clothes and embroidery design characteristic. The data acquisition is selected to the total 447 pictures of embroidery clothing design from the www.style.com, www.samsungdesign.net which are the related information site. The data are limited from S/S season in 2004 till F/W season in 2008 in the Paris, Milano, and New York collection. The analytical method was made through the analyze method and statistical method. First, on the relation with the clothes silhouette and embroidery design, if the satin stitch technique is utilized as the X-shaped or A-line silhouette in the one-piece and dress, the image which is elegant and feminine can be expressed. if the satin stitch technique is utilized as the H-line silhouette in jacket and court, the mannish image can be expressed. Second, the embroidery color showed up as the contrast combination of the monotone when the clothes color was the monochrome. And the embroidery color showed up as the tone in which is bright and sober when clothes color had 2 or 3 or 4. So, if the embroidery color is utilized as the similar color scheme, it will be effective. Third, if the embroidery technique of the one-piece and dress is utilized as the the satin stitch technique and the bloom and leaf motive being stylized pattern is used in the all-over and border pattern, It will be effective to express the romantic/feminine, ethnic/folklore, active, and classic image.
