Analytical methods for monitoring the provision of commercial medical organizations with fixed assets

Subject. This article considers analytical possibilities for monitoring the effectiveness of commercial medical organizations according to their medical equipment. Objectives. The article aims to identify and substantiate the recommended values of the share of fixed assets in the total amount of property (assets) as an indicator of sufficiency for the effective operation of commercial medical organizations. Methods. For the study, we used deduction, analysis, synthesis, analogy, comparison, extrapolation, abstraction, as well as analytical calculations of the influence of factors. Results. It was not possible to establish an unambiguous criterion for assessing the risks of insufficient equipment as a factor in the inefficiency of the organization's activities. The indicators of municipal medical organizations have significant variability, which is explained by the purchase of equipment by some clinics at the expense of national projects. Conclusions and Relevance. In the context of the unstable situation in the Russian economy, the financing of medical institutions is uneven. Commercial medical organizations, such as newly opened ones, have a sufficient set of high-tech equipment and its share in assets is large. This, to some extent, reflects the specialization of medical companies and their age. In this regard, the risks of inefficiency, since companies with up-to-date equipment are in a winning competitive position, increase in diversified organizations. The results of the study of the structure of the balance sheet of medical organizations and the share of fixed assets may be useful for the development of methods for controlling the risks of inefficiency.

The role of rule-following and accountability leadership and management support in internal control effectiveness moderated by organizational culture

PurposeThe current study intends to explore the internal control effectiveness through leadership who follow rules and emphasize accountability with support from management. It also examines the influence of organizational culture. Current research aims to enhance the internal control effectiveness in organizations by examining leadership roles, support from management and organizational culture specifically in the segment of accounting and finance.Design/methodology/approachThe study surveys professionals from the accounting and finance segment to accumulate insights into the influence of leadership, management support and organizational culture on internal control effectiveness. Statistical tools were applied by using the AMOS and SPSS program to draw practical recommendations for the optimization of internal control mechanisms.FindingsThe findings direct that internal control effectiveness is positively linked to rule-following and accountability leadership while presenting a negative association with top management support. Prominently, organizational culture demonstrates a central moderating role, highlighting its significant influence on internal control effectiveness.Practical implicationsThe study provides real-world insights to aid accounting and finance professionals in implementing effective internal controls. The findings provide actionable recommendations for top management to improve organizational practices and financial processes.Originality/valueThe unique combination of exploring leadership impact, top management support and organizational culture adds value to existing knowledge. The findings provide a novel perspective for practitioners and researchers seeking to enhance internal control mechanisms in organizational settings.

Exploring Determinants of Job Satisfaction among Academic Members in Jordanian Higher Education Institutions

This study aimed to identify the determinants of job satisfaction among academic staff in Jordanian Higher Education Institutions and propose a model that these institutions can use to estimate overall job satisfaction. Understanding these determinants is critical for faculty retention, performance, and organizational effectiveness. This study employed a quantitative approach to examine job satisfaction and its determinants among academic members in Jordanian Higher Education Institutions. A total of 272 participants were asked to rate their level of agreement with multiple statements regarding job satisfaction determinants using a Likert scale. The data collected were analyzed to identify the key factors influencing job satisfaction among academic staff. The study found that the work environment, promotion and development opportunities, and job security are significant determinants of job satisfaction among academic staff in Jordan. These factors play a crucial role in shaping faculty members’ perspectives on their jobs and their overall satisfaction levels. The findings of this study provide valuable insights for Higher Education Institutions that aim to enhance faculty satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. By focusing on improving the work environment, offering clear promotion and development paths, and ensuring job security, institutions can retain and motivate their academic staff better.

Do donors value volunteer commitment in assessing nonprofit effectiveness?

AbstractEvaluating organizational effectiveness is a significant challenge for nonprofit donors making donation allocation decisions. Donations may be misallocated if organizational effectiveness is inadequately assessed, and donors, who are often organizational outsiders, rely on nonprofit disclosures on IRS Form 990 to make such assessments. We examine whether donors value volunteer commitment, as measured by the number of volunteers that nonprofits disclose on Form 990, alongside financial and governance disclosures in assessing organizational effectiveness. Donors and volunteers prefer to make respective gifts of money and time to nonprofits that are effective in furthering their missions. Based on the premise that volunteers, as organizational insiders, are better positioned than donors to judge the impact of their contributions, we hypothesize that volunteer commitment provides value‐relevant information to donors for use in assessing imprecise effectiveness signals—namely, the program ratio and corporate governance disclosures. Consistent with this, we find that the value relevance of the program ratio and corporate governance disclosures to donors is increasing with the level of volunteer commitment. These results suggest that donors view volunteer commitment as a signal of effectiveness, useful in interpreting other signals of effectiveness. The evidence is more pronounced among nonprofits that report more credible volunteer disclosures, have a larger proportion of sophisticated donors, and are more complex. These findings have implications for regulators considering nonprofit disclosure policies, as well as nonprofit managers and directors engaging volunteers.

Effects of Demographic Characteristics on Organizational Culture and Job Satisfaction among Faculties of Higher Education in Kathmandu, Nepal

Background: Organizations have been recognizing the value of culture because it helps attract, satisfy, and retain employees. The explicit nature of organizational culture pertains to visible artifacts and other observable elements within an organization. However, the implicit paradigms of organizational culture are often challenging to identify through mere observation. Organizational culture refers to the environment within a workplace created by its underlying values and practices, which in turn impacts employees’ job satisfaction. Objectives: This research investigates the impact of demographics characteristics on organisataional culture and job satisfaction. Methods: In this research, we analyzed the relationship between organizational culture and job satisfaction in a sample of 81 full-time faculty members using standard questionnaire from higher education institutions located in Kathmandu, Nepal using purposive sampling method. Results: It was observed that perceptions of different organizational cultures varied among different demographic variables. Factor analysis yielded four components of job satisfaction: accomplishment, supervision, empowerment, and growth. Correlational analysis demonstrated that the clan organizational culture exhibits a significant positive relationship with job satisfaction. Conclusion: Conducting this research on the impact of demographic characteristics on organizational culture and job satisfaction in higher education in Nepal will provide valuable insights to inform policies and practices that can enhance employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness.

The Influence of Efficient Performance Evaluation on Worker Productivity: A Secondary Data Analysis

Performance evaluation has been an essential tool for organizational effectiveness, in which employee efforts are aligned with the organizational goals. However, the connection between the efficiency of performance evaluation systems and worker productivity has not been well examined over the past years. This study aims to analyse the impact of efficient performance evaluation on worker productivity based on secondary data from different academic journals, organizational reports, and case studies. By analysing already conducted research on performance evaluation processes, this paper addresses how performance evaluation processes do result in productivity, enhanced engagement among employees, and the resultant success of organisations.

Curbing bureaucratic limitations through continuous learning in local government in South Africa

The local government in South Africa faces a dire scenario as it relentlessly fails to execute its legally mandated responsibilities of rendering essential goods and services. Despite various legal frameworks (The Municipal Systems Act 2000; The Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) 2003) and government interventions (The Batho Pele Principles 1997) to address the bureaucratic limitations, local government continues to transgress, resulting in many local municipalities receiving adverse audit outcomes from the Auditor General every year. Prior research on local government in South Africa has not extensively investigated the effects of continuous learning on mitigating bureaucratic limitations and promoting efficiency and effectiveness in municipal service delivery. This paper examines the role of learning organizations, guided by Pete Senge’s Model of Learning Organizations, in mitigating bureaucratic limitations within South African local governments. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research explores how continuous learning platforms can contribute to overcoming these limitations and enhancing municipal service delivery. A purposive sampling technique was employed to select 50 participants from 10 municipalities across six South African provinces, ensuring representation from various managerial levels within local governments. The study’s key findings reveal that if properly implemented, continuous learning frameworks can address critical issues such as administrative inefficiency and resistance to innovation, which are deeply embedded in bureaucratic structures. The findings also highlight that change management strategies, grounded in collaborative learning and shared vision, are essential for fostering an environment conducive to organizational transformation. However, the study identified significant challenges, including political interference, staff turnover, and cultural resistance, which limit the effectiveness of learning organizations. Based on these findings, the study recommends targeted interventions that promote leadership development, skills enhancement, and policy reform to create a sustainable culture of continuous learning in local government.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT PARADOXES IN TURKISH PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION: EVALUATIONS ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE PARADOXES

This study investigates the application of performance management in public institutions, focusing specifically on universities and academic staff while identifying key challenges associated with these practices. Performance management aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of individuals and organizations. In public administration, its goals include fostering accountability, promoting transparency, improving service quality, and delivering economic benefits. However, the effectiveness of performance management processes within universities can be constrained, leading to various challenges over time. A significant issue is the "performance paradox," which arises when performance evaluation systems lose efficacy and paradoxically undermine academic activities. This study highlights the shortcomings of academic performance evaluation systems in Turkey and proposes suggestions for developing an optimal performance appraisal framework. By employing content analysis of topics such as academic incentives, appointment and promotion criteria, and evaluation processes at research universities, the study explores the manifestation of the performance paradox in the academic sphere and its adverse consequences. The findings offer valuable recommendations for public policymakers, practitioners, and scholars aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of academic performance appraisal systems.

Effects of major trauma care organisation on mortality in a European level 1 trauma centre: A retrospective analysis of 2016-2023.

The centralisation of care for trauma patients in trauma centres, alongside the creation of inclusive trauma networks, has proven to reduce mortality. In Europe, such structured trauma programs and trauma networks are in development. To describe the aetiology and evolution of in-hospital mortality in a developing European level 1 trauma centre, to determine the early effect of trauma care reorganisation on mortality and to identify the areas for future investments in trauma care. This retrospective analysis included the calculation of the standardised mortality ratio (SMR), the time to in-hospital death and the cause of in-hospital death of all primary major trauma admissions to the Antwerp University Hospital from 2016 to 2023. A total of 1470 patients was included with a crude mortality of 16.4 %, a median Revised Injury Severity Classification II (RISC II) adjusted mortality of 1.47 %, and a SMR of 1.12. A limitation of care directive was registered for 18.1 % of the patients. The causes of in-hospital death were traumatic brain injury (TBI) in 60 %, haemorrhagic shock in 15 %, organ failure in 10 %, miscellaneous in 14 % and unknown in 1 %. Sixty percent died in the first 48 h of hospital admission (mainly due to TBI and haemorrhagic shock) and 27 % died after more than seven days (mainly due to organ failure and TBI). In 24 % of the deceased patients with severe TBI, a non-TBI related cause of death was found. Overall, the SMR showed a nonsignificant decreasing trend, with a significant decrease of the SMR in the highest risk group (RISCII > 75 %) and a nonsignificant increase in the lowest risk group (RISC II <15 %). The standardised mortality ratio declined over a period of 8 years, even though the SMR increased nonsignificantly in the lowest risk-adjusted mortality group. Future analysis of this subgroup could clarify whether this trend is due to an increase of limitation of care directives and if these deaths could have been prevented with improved trauma care. There might be opportunities to increase the survival of patients with severe TBI who have a non-TBI cause of death.

Abstract: Leadership is central to contemporary management and organizational effectiveness. This study presents the findings of an examination and analysis of servant leadership, autocratic leadership, employee performance, employee satisfaction, and employee productivity. In particular, the servant leadership paradigm serves as a guide and model to organizational leadership, challenging traditional autocratic models. A conclusion is pursued with specific research, managerial, and theological implications. (Qiu &amp; Dooley, 2022)(Angtud et al.2023)(Prasath et al.2021)(Chi et al., 2020)(Muzira et al.2020)(Sousa &amp; van Dierendonck, 2021)(Hai &amp; Van, 2021) Leaders exploiting internal resources and strengthening human and social capital lead to collective results such as competitive advantage and sustained performance. Literature reiterates that effective leaders tend to cultivate trust, innovation, and knowledge exchange by facilitating the creation of a culture that is both value-based and people-oriented. Leadership is the engine that drives human resources, and leadership behavior has been linked to job satisfaction, which is found to be positive when incumbents serve as servant leaders, and vice versa, found to be positive when leaders take on an autocratic leadership style.

Strategies to Improve Teachers' Organizational Citizenship Behavior Through Strengthening Transformational Leadership and Self-Efficacy

The success and sustainability of an organization are largely determined by the willingness of organizational members to behave well not only when carrying out their main tasks, but also extra behavior in wanting to be good teachers. However, there are indications that teachers at the PGRI Vocational School, Bogor Regency, only carry out basic tasks and do not demonstrate behavior that supports organizational effectiveness outside of this. This research aims to determine the relationship between transformational leadership and self-efficacy in organizational citizenship behavior both partially and jointly. The population in this study were teachers at the PGRI Vocational School, Bogor Regency with a sample of 243 respondents. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires and data processing was carried out using simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis. The research results show that (1) transformational leadership has a positive and significant relationship with teachers' organizational citizenship behavior. (2) self-efficacy has a positive relationship with teacher organizational citizenship behavior. (3) transformational leadership and self-efficacy have a positive and significant relationship with teachers' organizational citizenship behavior.

Factors Influencing Information Quality of Information Systems: A Systematic Literature Review

In today's digital era, information quality in information systems is essential for organizational effectiveness and decision-making. This systematic literature review aims to assess and synthesize factors influencing information quality across various systems, focusing on key dimensions such as reliability, accessibility, usability, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. The existing literature is fragmented, lacking an integrated theory that comprehensively addresses the significance of information quality. Thus, a systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA framework to address this gap and provide evidence-based recommendations for research and practice. Studies were identified, screened, and selected from Scopus and Web of Science. After an initial search using specific keywords, a total of 1,548 articles were found that contained specified terms or strings in various combinations. Of these, 31 studies were chosen for full review based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analysis was organized into three primary themes: i) Core Information Quality Factors, ii) Synergizing Information Quality with System and Service Quality, and iii) Impact of Information Quality on User Satisfaction and Organizational Outcomes. The results emphasize the significant role of high information quality in enhancing user satisfaction and operational efficiency. Different industries prioritize various quality dimensions according to their specific needs. Therefore, this review elucidates the imperative function of good quality information in reinforcing information systems' proper functioning, calling for empirical studies to develop holistic frameworks that incorporate multiple dimensions and impact analysis across different domains.

Strategic Leadership Learning Affecting the Operational Effectiveness of Provincial Administrative Organization

Strategic leadership is essential for any organization&amp;rsquo;s modern leader. This research aims to study the strategic leadership of provincial administration executives, the operational effectiveness of the organization, the impact of strategic leadership learning on operational effectiveness, and guidelines to improve operational effectiveness. The participants were 254 employees of the provincial administration organization. Questionnaires were used for data collection. Frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis were employed for data analysis. Findings revealed that the strategic leadership of the executives of the provincial administration organization was at a high level, the operational effectiveness of the provincial administration organization was at a high level, and&amp;nbsp;strategic leadership has a statistically significant influence on the operational effectiveness of provincial administrations at the level of .05. The component is in 3 areas: balancing organizational control (&amp;beta; = .265), organizational resource management (&amp;beta; = .231), and setting strategic direction (&amp;beta; = .213), and 4) the guidelines for improving the operational effectiveness of the provincial administration are maximizing resource utilization and developing the service quality of services.

This study examines the impact of pay and perquisites on worker performance at UD. Nilam Sari Nganjuk. The research aims to identify the extent to which financial compensation and non-financial benefits influence employees' productivity and job satisfaction. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected through surveys distributed to 50 employees of the company. The findings indicate a significant positive relationship between pay and worker performance, suggesting that competitive salaries motivate employees to perform better. Similarly, the provision of perquisites, such as bonuses, allowances, and welfare benefits, was found to enhance employee satisfaction and overall productivity. The study concludes that optimizing both pay and perquisites can serve as a strategic tool to boost worker performance and organizational effectiveness. Recommendations for the company include periodic salary reviews and the introduction of innovative employee benefits to sustain motivation and improve performance. Servant Leadership: Biblical Evidences and Path to Organizational Effectiveness

This study explores the concept of Servant Leadership through a biblical lens, examining its roots in the Old and New Testaments and its application in contemporary non-profit organizations. Using a qualitative approach combining literature review, biblical exegesis, and contextual analysis, the research investigates four major theoretical frameworks of Servant Leadership and their alignment with biblical principles. Key findings reveal strong parallels between modern Servant Leadership theories and biblical examples, particularly in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The study identifies core characteristics of Servant Leadership, including humility, empowerment, and focus on others' growth, as deeply rooted in biblical narratives. Furthermore, the research demonstrates the positive impact of Servant Leadership on organizational effectiveness in churches, social foundations, and spiritual movements, evidenced by increased member engagement, improved service quality, and enhanced collaborative capabilities. This study contributes to the understanding of Servant Leadership as not merely a management technique but a biblically-grounded approach to leadership with significant implications for organizational practice and mission fulfillment in faith-based contexts.
