Effectiveness of an instructional program on attitudes of parents toward children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in autism centers at Baghdad City

Objective: To find out the effectiveness of instructional program on attitudes of parents toward children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Methodology: A quasi-experimental study was conducted that included (120) deliberate samples of parents selected from eight autism centers according to the study criteria (60) parents in the centers (Al-Safa, Al-Marwa, Basmat Amal, Al-Tahadi), and (60) parents in the centers (Al-Rami, Al-Rahman, Al-Takhassusi, Al-Saeeda Family. The samples were divided into two groups (60) parents (study group) who participated in the instructional program and (60) parents (control group) who did not participate in the program. The groups are almost identical in their properties. The instructional program was implemented in four steps, the first step (pre-test) is to assess parents' attitudes towards children with ADHD before implementing the program, and the second step is to implement the program and then two tests and the time period between the first and second test is two weeks. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were determined by a group of experts and through a pilot study of ten parents. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data.

Results: The results of the study indicated that the general evaluation of the parents’ behaviors about ADHD for the study sample before implementing the program was a lack of basic behaviors about ADHD, but after implementing the program the result was: The study indicated a high effectiveness in the behaviors of the parents Matters between the study group as indicated by the high significance associated with the “Greenhouse-Geisser” correction at p-value = 0.001. A significant difference was found for the study group on the first and second pretest and posttest over time, compared with the control group. Effectiveness of Instructional Program on Women Practices about Prevention of Covid 19 in Kirkuk City

Background: Pregnancy is a condition of partial immune suppression which makes pregnant women riskier to viral infections, and the morbidity is increased even with seasonal influenza. Therefore, the COVID-19 epidemic may have dangers consequences for pregnant women. Although the high incidence of cases of COVID-19 are currently in China, the risk of outward transmission appears to be significantly high global concern. Objectives: To assess pregnant women's practices about prevention of covid 19 before and after implementation of instruction program and to determine the effectiveness of instruction program on pregnant women practices about prevention methods of corona virus, covid 19 in PHCC in Kirkuk city. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was conducted during the period from (6th may 2021 through 20th August 2021) on non-probability sample (purposive) consists of (100) pregnant women) who visited the primary health care center. The sample practices was exposed to pretest, educational program, posttest. The study was conducted in Kirkuk city, Kirkuk health Director, three primary health care centers from the Kirkuk 1st sector which include (Al- Mansur center for primary health care, Al- Wassity center for primary health care, and Bader center for primary health care), than select three primary health care centers from Kirkuk 2nd sector which include (AL-Rasheed center for Primary health care, Azady center for Primary health care, AL-Nassir center for Primary health care, and Al- Mansur center for primary health care) Questionnaire was used as a tool of data collection. A pilot study was conducted at Al- Wassity center for primary health care in order to determine the reliability of the study and the testing the pregnant women practices about prevention methods of corona virus diseases 19. Data were collected through the questionnaire. Data were analyzed through the application of descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis approach through the use of (SPSS) version 22.0 and Excel system Results: The results of the study have revealed that significant correlation between pretest and posttest periods after the implementation of education program for pregnant women Practices regarding prevention methods of corona virus and reducing infected by it. There were high significant correlations between pre and post periods at (p. value: 0.101) in evaluation of the effectiveness of the instruction program in the practices of pregnant women on prevention methods to reduce the incidence of infection between Pre and post evaluation. Conclusions: The study concluded that the educational program can be considered as an effective mean for the improvement of the pregnant women's practices about the importance prevention methods of corona virus. Recommendations: Pregnant women should be given instructional booklets in order to raise practice level of preventive measures of COVID-19 infection at the beginning of their pregnancy and who can protect their families' members from such pandemic. Effectiveness of Instructional Program upon Pregnant Women’s Knowledge Suffering from Pregnancy Induced Hypertension Attending to Primary Health Care Centers in Al- Najaf City

Pregnancy induced hypertension is a common obstetric disorder. It is among the leading causes of maternaland fetal mortality and morbidity. This research aims to assess pregnant women’s knowledge regardingpregnancy induced hypertension, and to find out the relationship between pregnant women’s knowledge andtheir demographic and clinical data . A quasi-experimental design is used to investigate the effectivenessof instructional program upon women’s knowledge suffering from pregnancy induced hypertension , fromthe 8th of January to 3th September2020, included 80 pregnant (40 women as study group), and (40 womenas a control group). The current study found that the knowledge of the majority of women about pregnancyinduced hypertension is poor in complication domain specialty before the implementation of instructionalprogram. However, 100% of them have had good knowledge after two weeks of implementation of theinstructional program. The women have developed and improved in their knowledge about pregnancyinduced hypertension. The study revealed that there were high significant in the study group knowledgeregarding the pregnancy induced hypertension in the pre-test and post-test measurements. The study hasconcluded that the instructional program has a positive effect on the study sample blood pressure. Theinstructional program has a positive effect on the study sample knowledge regarding the PIH. Levels ofeducation, monthly income, residential area, occupational status, and the type of family are affect thepregnant’s knowledge regarding the PIH.

Effectiveness of Instructional Program for Nurses’ Knowledge regarding Oxygen Administration Methods at Pediatric Teaching Hospitals in Mosul City

The Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of instructional program for nurses’ knowledge regarding oxygen administration methods at pediatric teaching hospitals in Mosul City. The Methodology: A quasi-experimental study was applied at pediatric teaching hospitals in Mosul City from 21 of October/ 2018 till 17 of July / 2019. The selection of the sample was using the non- probability (Purposive) sample that chosen for the current study. The total study sample consisted of (52) nurses, (26) nurses working in the Al-Kansaa Teaching Hospital and (26) nurses working Ibn Al-Atheer Teaching Hospital from Mosul City. The program lectures and questionnaire were constructed and provided for nurses to evaluate the effect of the instructional program on nurse’s knowledge. The Pearson’s coefficient of correlation result are (r= 0.756) and are significant at p ? 0.05 level was used to estimate the scale (test – retest) by using SPSS version 25. Results shows that statistical differences (paired samples t-test) of the knowledge for the study and control group concerning the oxygen administration methods for pediatric. There are high significant relationships between pre-test and post-test result for study group. But are not significant relationships between pre-test and post-test result for control group at P.value ? 0.05 levels.

Effectiveness of An Instructional Program of Premarital Screening for Hereditary Blood Diseases on Student's Knowledge at Baghdad University

Objectives: To identify the effectiveness of instructional program concerning premarital screening of hereditary blood diseases on student’s knowledge at Baghdad University. A quasi-experimental design (pretest-posttest approach) was conducted at six colleges and its college of education Ibn rushd, college of political science, college of law, college of literature, college of media and college of language. This study was conducted during the period of 1st April 2017 to 5th May 2018. Multistage stratified random sample of (40) students for both group control and study group at Baghdad University colleges. A questionnaire, instructional booklet, guide booklet was used as a tool of data collection to fulfill with objective of the study and it is consisted of three parts. The questionnaire and content validity was carried out through the eight experts. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were used to analyze the data. In general the results show a statistical significant improvement of university student’s knowledge concerning premarital screening of hereditary blood diseases

Effectiveness of an Instructional Program concerning Knowledge on clients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome in Liver and Digestive Disease Hospital at Baghdad City

Background: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a highly prevalent gastrointestinal disorder characterized by abdominal pain with diarrhea and/or constipation and defecation with mucus. The etiology of IBS has not been definitively established., The IBS remains a condition that can seriously compromise an individual s’ quality of life. Objective: The present study aims to identify the effectiveness of an Instructional Program concerning Knowledge on clients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome . Methodology: A quasi-experimental design study conducted in Liver and Digestive Disease Hospital at Baghdad City of the period of January ,20th 2015 to October, 1st 2015, the study sample consist of 60 clients have IBS, divided into two groups (30) case and (30) control groups. The study instrument was composed of three parts which as socio- demographic information was included 5 items; (age group, gender, marital status, level of education, occupational), and second parts deals medical history which include (4) items BMI, The duration of developing IBS, type of IBS, diseases, smoking and alcohol drinking, other chronic diseases and factors affecting disease). part three consist of 5 domains concerned to clients knowledge toward the IBS which include (definition, causes and symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment plan which include (dietary change, drug therapy, psychotherapy, herbal therapy, and flow up). The data have been analyzed through the application of: descriptive analysis (frequency, percentages; mean of scores; and the inferential analysis that include: Analysis of variance, and the researcher used the SPSS version 21 to analysis of data. Results: the findings revealed that the 56% of the case group were females at age 33-37 years old, 56% were married at institute & collage graduated, 66.6% of the case group have government employment, 40% of them have IBS of 1-3 years , 50% of the case group have diarrhea prodromal , high percent of them not Smoker, and the results revealed that their effectiveness of instructional program on IBS clients at P≤ 0.05 level. Conclusion: the study concluded that the program applied by the researchers was a clear impact on improving the knowledge of clients relating to the definition and symptoms and how to control the disease through the pretest and posttest of the program. Recommendation: the study recommends to increase health awareness among people through the implementation of courses and lectures in coordination with the Ministries of Health and Education and Higher Education in order to control the causes of disease and reduce symptoms of IBS.

It implies planning, preparation, and use of devices and materials that involve sight, sound, or both, for educational purposes. Among the devices used are still and motion pictures, filmstrips, television, transparencies, audiotapes, records, teaching machines, computers, and videodiscs. The purpose of this document is to specify the administrative procedures to be followed in managing the textbook and other instructional material resources of the district. Instructional materials are critical elements in assuring the effectiveness of instructional programs. The aim is to provide each student with quality instructional materials with the maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness.

The effect of Instructional Program integrated into (Moodle) on the achievement of a sample of students from Educational Technology Department, Bahrain University

This study aims at presenting a model of integrating instructional design represented by an instructional program into one of the most current electronic learning environment called (Moodle). The study will also measure the effect of this design on the achievement of university students. The participants of the study were 60 female and male students from the department of Educational Technology at the College of Education, University of Bahrain, during the academic year (2010-2009). This sample was divided into two groups: control group and experimental group. The control group was taught through the traditional (Moodle) environment, whereby the teaching materials were presented in texts. On the other hand, the experimental group was exposed to the teaching materials also through (moodle), but package was specially designed with graphics and motion. The two groups were given pre- and post-tests. The results of the two tests showed that there is a statistically significant difference between the two groups in the post-test in favor of the use of the learning package through (Moodle). The study recommends the integration of learning programs such learning packages, learning websites, films, and all the programs based on instructional design into instructional environments such as (Moodle) in order to enrich the learning environment and diversify the learning resources. The study also recommends that this approach should be used in both universities and schools.

Response-to-Intervention and Mastery Learning: Tracing Roots and Seeking Common Ground

In this article we draw parallels between defined critical features of response-to-intervention (RTI) and the mastery learning approach described in the general education literature by Benjamin S. Bloom. We posit that these two processes include many common elements but that each incorporates unique elements that could potentially complement and strengthen the other. Finally, we outline the specific advantages a synthesis of these two processes offer both special educators and general educators in their efforts to enhance the effectiveness of instructional programs for all students.

A study of the design of curriculum-based progress monitoring systems

This study discusses the issues of how IT can play an instrumental role in supporting instructors to guide learners to reach their goals in competency￢based education. The chronic problems junior colleges have been suffering are in two folds; massive class-sizes and students with low resources. A technical approach to remedy these infrastructural deficits is suggested; in order to make the challenges manageable, it IS necessary for the instructor to be equipped with software tools which take control of the whole process of instruction. This system model can possibly be launched by employing the concept of instructional object in the space of instructional design. Despite the LCMS (Learning Content Management System)'s advantages, physical classroom communities are ignorant of systematic management of the learning activities. Instructors and learners have little or no self-contained means of curriculum-based measurement: the lack of student adaptivity, progress monitoring system for instructional feedback and intervention, and content creation tools for combination and granularity based on the architecture of instructional objects, To address these limitations, I propose an adaptive architecture to complement LCMS with the progress monitoring system which supplies the instructor with dynamic and easy-to-use tools to create instructional objects and assessment and validation to determine the value and effectiveness of instructional program. All these conceptual constructs are to be converged into an Integrated Instruction Development Environment which assists instructors to create more adaptive instructional designs that help learners achieve the learning objectives.

Reading-growth estimates for elementary-school students using curriculum-based measurement

In this study, we examine grade-level growth rates for general education students and students with learning disabilities in grades two to six. In conducting the study, we demonstrate how schools, districts, and state educational agencies can use a combination of Curriculum-Based Measurement and Hierarchical Linear Modeling (HLM) methods to develop growth-rate norms in reading. The participants were made up of 273 general education students and 430 students with learning disabilities. The growth rates for these two groups of students in each grade were estimated using HLM. Within each grade, separate growth rates for subgroups of general education students (i.e., high, average, and low achievers) were estimated. The uses of estimated growth rates for setting year-end goals, monitoring student progress, and evaluating the effectiveness of instructional programs are also discussed.

Can Scientific Research From the Laboratory be of Any Use to Teachers?

Behavior in a psychology laboratory—constrained by the need to efficiently replicate tasks, record individual responses, and avoid contamination from external factors—is different in systematic ways from behavior within an everyday environment where similar tasks are undertaken and problems solved. This article describes a program of research that identified the sources of this "ecological invalidity" of laboratory settings. The authors connect these insights to current attempts to apply laboratory controls in field research in schools where measures of the effectiveness of instructional programs can be based on high-stakes testing. While recognizing important applications of controlled experimentation both in the laboratory and in the educational policy research, they also find potential for the experimental controls themselves to lead researchers and decision makers to the wrong conclusion.
