Leadership 5.0: Towards a Post Normal Era

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted numerous aspects of life. The effects of industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0 bring new chances for Indonesia as it enters the post-normal age. For Indonesia, a revolution that stresses digital economic growth is beneficial. Mrs. Tanti Widia Nurdiani, director of Smart Indonesia Academy, was invited by DPK Perbarindo Malang Raya to conduct a leadership 5.0 workshop for all BPR BPRS in the Perbarindo Malang Raya Region. This form of training is a community-empowerment-focused activity. This approach to community empowerment intends to enhance leadership 5.0 for BPR BPRS throughout the Perbarindo Malang Raya Region. This is a qualitative research method with an analytical descriptive approach. This study focuses on the training offered by Smart Indonesia Academy to BPR BPRS in the Perbarindo Malang Raya Region. Smart Indonesia Academy successfully performed a community service project on May 21, 2022, at the Atria Hotel & Conference, which was attended by BPR BPRS members from the entire Perbarindo Region and Malang Raya. The Smart Indonesia Academy has prioritized leadership 5.0 knowledge.

The first Industrial Revolution began in England in about 1750-1760 that lasted to sometime between 1820 and 1840. It is one of the most distinguished turning points in human history. During this period human and animal labor technology transform into machinery, such as the stream engine, the spinning jenny, and coke something pudding and rolling processes for making iron, etc. Industrial Revolution is renewed for global economic growth, increase in production and consumption of common people. The system of transportation communication through canals, road and rails had improved. Also, banking and other financial systems improved to run the industries and business firms smoothly. Child and infant mortality rate decreased and fertility rate increased. As a result, population growth had dramatically changed. On the other hand, women and child unhygienic condition. Factory workers have to work sixteen hours in the day merely to save the family from starvation. Industrial Revolution created a wide gap between the rich and the poor. An attempt has taken here to describe the various effects of Industrial Revolution.

The Dominant Ideologies in the Nineteenth Century British Social and Political Life

In the nineteenth century, British social and political life bears witness to some leading movements such as conservatism, liberalism, feminism and socialism. The spirit of democratization and the dream of a better society and order triggered all these movements. The nineteenth-century British political and social thought has a deep influence on these central ideas of government in the light of industrial changes, their revolutionary consequences and democratic movements and thanks to the works of the representatives of these ideologies. Both Industrial Revolution and democratization are two significant developments that shaped the rise of these ideologies together with capitalist policies and rise of the British Empire. Radical changes and revolutions in British history deeply affect the role of the individual in the society and the role of government by forcing them to inevitable changes in their policies and roles. With the rise of industrial revolution and democratization (together with capitalism and rise of the British Empire), these movements find the possibility to appear and develop more freely and easily. English society and government take a more liberalistic and socialistic stand which require equality and freedom both for men and women. Through the late-Victorian period independent new-type women different from traditional ones occur up and trigger feminism and challenge patriarchy and restrictions imposed upon them. Interrelated with each other, these movements are the basis that radically affect the role of the individual in the society and the role of government. Therefore, the purpose of my essay is to demonstrate how these social and political movements have contributed to British thought under the effect of Industrial Revolution and democratic actions.

Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun batılılaşma döneminde yaşanan siyasi ve ticari gelişmeler, Sanayi Devrimi’nin de etkisiyle Avrupa ile sağlanan uluslararası iletişim gücünün artmasını sağlamıştır. Paris bu süreçte önemli bir merkezdir. Paris’te II. İmparatorluk Dönemi’nde (1852-1870) Halil Şerif Paşa, dönemin sanatçı ve aydınları ile kurduğu sosyal ilişkiler nedeniyle Paris sanat ortamında tanınır bir isim olmuştur. Bu dönemde Halil Şerif Paşa; Delacroix, Boucher, İngres, Courbet gibi Avrupa resim tarihinin önemli sanatçılarına resim sipariş etmiştir. Fakat; bu eserler Paris’te kısa süre sonra satışa sunulmuştur, günümüzde de Paris müzelerinde sergilenmektedir. Halil Şerif Paşa’nın bu süreçte sipariş vererek yaptırdığı eserler; temaları ve kadın figürünün sunumu ile ilkleri barındırmaktadır. Araştırma sürecinde; Halil Şerif Paşa ve dönem Paris sanat ortamı hakkında doküman incelemeleri gerçekleştirilerek literatür taraması yöntemi ve sözlü tarih çalışması kullanılmıştır. Makalede; Halil Şerif Paşa’nın çok yönlü kişiliğinin Paris sanat ortamına olan etkisi araştırılarak, onun perspektifinden verilen siparişler yoluyla sanat tarihine kazandırılan eserlerin, sanat tarihinde yarattığı etkinin incelenmesi ve analiz edilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Reflections of Industrial Revolution on Work Life in England and Its Projections in Literature: An Analysis on Charles Dickens s Hard Times

The Industrial Revolution, which began in England in the eighteenth century, is the result of a long period of social and economic evolution extending into the late Middle Ages. Apart from its several favorable outcomes, Industrial Revolution caused some undesirable outcomes for working life. The aim of this study is to inspect Dickens’s Hard Times which can be counted as one of the preliminary works that reflected on effects of Industrial Revolution on working life with a critical perspective within the scope of administrative mentality of that time. Within this context, scientific works which focused on the intellectual foundations of the industrial era and Dicken's Hard Times are taken into consideration for the conceptional framework of the study. Qualitative research approach has been adopted to the study and through the inspection of the novel, the main perspectives which make up the foundations of management mentality have been evaluated. As a result of this study, it is seen that positivitism, economy science and utilitarianism have been influential in the management concept and practices of the Industrial Revolution era. In Hard Times, Dickens propounds the negative effects of these perspectives which can be useful for the humankind when used for good causes.
