Employing artificial intelligence technology in developing practical content for media specialization—A case study of Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie

This study investigates the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance practical content development within the media specialization program at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie. The primary objective is to examine the extent to which media specialty lecturers employ AI technology in developing practical content. A mixed-methods approach is employed, qualitative data are gathered through in-depth interviews with faculty members to elucidate their perceptions and experiences regarding the integration of AI technology in practical content development. The study aims to provide valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of AI integration in practical content development for media specialization programs The study reveals diverse views on AI integration in media education at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie. Faculty recognize AI’s benefits like personalized learning and productivity but also express concerns about over-reliance and ethics. Consensus exists on cautious AI implementation to maximize benefits and address drawbacks. Obstacles to AI adoption include cost, skills gaps, and ethical considerations, highlighting the complexity of integration. The study emphasizes a balanced approach, offering insights for enhancing practical content development in media specialization programs at Palestine Technical University, Kadoorie.

A scoping review and bibliometric analysis of educational research on water literacy and water education

This paper presents a scoping review of the international academic research literature on water literacy and water education, including its implementation in both formal and non-formal education. The review was conducted through various analyses to examine global trends using bibliometric analysis. Metadata from eight databases (Web of Science (WoS), Scopus, Dimensions, Lens, PubMed, ScienceDirect, ERIC, and Google Scholar) were integrated. The analysis of documents involves examining publication numbers, authors involved, publisher sources, and origin of publications. The research literature is categorized into surveys and interventions in water education. Surveys focus on water literacy, educational measurement, and educational development including teacher education. Analysis of interventions in water education identified learning activities and programs, educational media types, and suggested topics. From the review a framework for incorporating water education in science education through community-based experiential learning is derived.

Assessing the potential impact of an oral health education package integrated with augmented reality in improving oral health knowledge in children: a pre-post study design.

ABSTRACTIntroduction: Augmented reality (AR) technology provides a novel approach to oral health education. This study examines the impact of AR-based educational tools on improving children's oral health knowledge, specifically assessing whether AR can significantly enhance knowledge compared to baseline. The primary objective is to determine if AR technology can increase oral health knowledge in children. Methods: This pre-experimental study used a pre-test and post-test design with a single group of 49 children aged 7 years. The AR-based tool was developed using the ADDIE model and implemented over two weeks. The effectiveness of the tool was assessed through a standardized oral health knowledge questionnaire, and data were analyzed using paired t-tests. Results: The results showed a significant increase in children's knowledge after the intervention, with mean scores rising from 5.27 (SD = 1.36) to 8.65 (SD = 0.9) (p < 0.05). The proportion of children with good knowledge increased from 8.2% to 88% post-intervention. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that AR-based tools can significantly improve children's oral health knowledge. This suggests that AR could be an effective educational medium in promoting better oral health practices among young learners.

Wealth-related disparities of comprehensive knowledge of HIV among reproductive-aged women in Ethiopia: a decomposition analysis

IntroductionHuman Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) remains a major global public health concern, especially in low-income countries like Ethiopia. Insufficient awareness about HIV/AIDS makes women vulnerable to infection. Notably, there is a disparity in the comprehensive HIV knowledge among reproductive-aged women in poorer and wealthier households. However, the contributing factors for wealth-related disparities in comprehensive knowledge of HIV among reproductive-aged women in Ethiopia have not been explored.MethodsWe used the women's record (IR) of the 2016 Ethiopian demographic health survey. Erreygers normalized concentration index and curve were used to analyze the percentage contribution of factors in the comprehensive knowledge of HIV difference across wealth index. The concentration index was decomposed into contributing factors for poor comprehensive knowledge among poorer households.ResultsA total of 14,599 reproductive-aged women were included in the analysis. The comprehensive knowledge of HIV was 14.75% and 29.33% in the poorest and wealthiest households, respectively. The weighted Erreygers normalized concentration index (ECI) was 0.11 with Standard error = 0.015 (P value < 0.05). Age (− 0.17%), residence (1.4%), education (26.2%), occupation (1.38%), region (0.61%), wealth index (30.8%), media exposure (13.4%), and internet access (0.67%) significantly contributed to the wealth-related inequalities.ConclusionThere was a pro-rich distribution of comprehensive knowledge of HIV among reproductive-age women in Ethiopia. Wealth, education, and media exposure were the major contributing factors to the wealth-related inequalities. Policymakers should prioritize media exposure and education, and work to improve the comprehensive knowledge of women in poorer households.

Designing An Illustrated Book as An Educational Media Regarding Traditional Lampung Cakes to Increase Children's Interest in Local Products

Lampung Province has a variety of traditional cakes, such as Selimpok, Sekubal, Engkak, Bangkit, Lapis Legit, Bebai Maghing and many others. However, some people prefer modern food such as bread in bakeries which are starting to emerge which are very popular with today's young generation, especially children, because of lifestyle factors. From data from interviews and questionnaires on children aged 6-12 years, they do not clearly understand the origins of regional cakes, the names of some regional cakes, and some have never tasted these regional cakes. Therefore, a media was designed in the form of a book illustrating Typical Lampung Traditional Cakes as a learning medium for children aged 6-12 years based on illustration work for education related to these traditional cakes, because children tend to like lots of pictures that add fun information, are easy to understand, and have interactive designs for children.

SOCIALIZATION OF THE DANGERS AND EFFECTS OF DRUG AND PSYCHOTROPIC USE FOR THE PROGRESS OF THE NATION (STOP DRUGS)

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;ABSTRACT&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The service team carried out a community service program because the juvenile drug problem was already very worrying. The community really hopes that schools can prevent the harm and spread of drugs. However, there are several problems faced by the partner school, SMPN 1 Kras, including: the teacher council lacks the capacity and understanding of drug problems and dangers; lack of training and media socialization and education about the dangers of drugs; and lack of media development and socialization and education facilities about the dangers of drugs in partner schools. Departing from these problems, the service team provides solutions through community service activities, namely: a) Providing education to adolescents about: Dangers of Drugs and How to Avoid Drugs through training and seminars on the dangers of drugs, b) Improving the ability of adolescents to develop media used for socialization of the dangers of drugs. This service activity will be carried out for three days through training and socialization methods or methods. 메타버스와 인공지능을 반영한 최신 음악교육매체 기반예비교사 교육과정 적용 및 경험 탐색

The study aims to examine experiences and draw implications by designing and applying a pre-service teacher curriculum based on the latest media in music education that reflects of the metaverse and artificial intelligence. Using backward design as stage, 15-session curriculum was planned, and appropriate media were selected for each session. To analyze the experience of pre-service teachers, the survey was planned with 8 TPACK questions of technological pedagogical content knowledge and 9 questions of instructional self-efficacy, and the subjective experience was closely examined by analyzing reflective journals, performance tasks, observation diaries, and learning management systems (LMS). As a result, a significant increase in the mean TPACK scores of pre-service teachers was observed. Observations indicated that tailored learning tools could be developed using media functions, and media-based instruction methods were effectively recognized. Descriptive analysis of the self-efficacy survey revealed high average scores, particularly in 'motivation' and 'instruction planning suitable for social flow,' while 'strategies for underachievement' showed relatively low scores. To improve the media-based curriculum: First, media-based curricula should be implemented considering the various levels of prospective teachers and should have sufficient time. Second, suitable media must be selected in elementary classrooms, considering student differences, and a curriculum addressing underachievement is needed. Third, a stable digital environment should be ensured through regular checks of equipment, with additional support for headsets during sound editing. This study hopes to help pre-service teachers enhance their technological pedagogical content knowledge and develop media-based music education for the digital age.

구글 크롬 뮤직랩을 활용한 초등학교 예비 교원의 AI · 디지털 매체 역량 강화 방안 연구

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to prospective elementary school teachers to strengthen their teaching and digital media utilization capabilities in the field of music creation using AI · digital media, and to help them research on improving the curriculum of pre-service elementary school teachers. Based on this, the 2022 revised music curriculum, and current music textbooks were analyzed and 4 sessions for pre-service elementary school teachers using Google Chrome Music Lab were developed. The significance of this study is that it presented a curriculum plan for pre-service elementary school teachers that focused on Google Chrome Music Lab among various AI · digital media for music education. It is also significant that the 2022 revised music curriculum, current textbooks, and achievement-based music creation were analyzed to consider the connection between digital media and the educational field. To make suggestions through this study, first, it is necessary to discover various cases of music teaching methods using AI · digital media. Second, music creation training using digital media should be actively conducted not only for pre-service teachers but also for teachers. Finally, it is necessary to create an educational environment with digital literacy in accordance with the changing times by sufficiently establishing AI · digital-related equipment in the educational field. It is hoped that this study will help improve elementary school music creation classes and pre-service teacher curriculum using AI · digital media.

EFL students' self-efficacy in technology-assisted language learning

Technological advancements are currently available in several areas to meet our daily needs. One such development is the use of technology in education, which has seen a significant increase in recent times due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Although students may be familiar with blended learning and technology, it is important for teachers to assess their level of self-efficacy in using technology effectively in education, as this has a direct impact on their ability to learn and improve their academic performance. This study investigated the level of students' self-efficacy and explored strategies to enhance it among Indonesian students who are now enrolled in an English Language Education program after the outbreak. This survey research integrated both quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods. Data was collected through interviews and questionnaires. A total of 60 students participated in this research. The questionnaire resulted in an overall self-efficacy score of 76.6% for all participants. This percentage indicates the high level of self-efficacy of the students. Each year group is classified as high. Interviews with the students served to validate the questionnaire results and further supported these findings. The majority of students use three ways to improve their English as a Foreign Language (EFL) acquisition. They participate autonomously in English language practice by improving computer skills, using online educational media and resources, and intensifying engagement with teachers and peers through communication platforms.

TEKNOLOGI AUGMENTED REALITY SEBAGAI MEDIA BELAJAR BERBASIS ANDROID BAGI SISWA KELAS 4 SD NEGERI 11 SESETAN

Low learning interest among students, especially fourth-grade elementary school students, often becomes an obstacle in achieving optimal learning outcomes. To help make the learning process more effective and efficient, educational media are used as intermediaries between educators and learners that connect, provide information, and deliver messages. With the advancement of technology, the education world faces new challenges in applying technology to learning activities, particularly in the development of educational media. One technology that can support learning is Augmented Reality (AR). The main component of Augmented Reality is a 3D object that appears when a marker is scanned by software or an application. This will make students more interested in learning because of the animated 3D objects. In this research, the researcher developed "Augmented Reality Technology as an Android-Based Learning Media for Fourth-Grade Students at SD Negeri 11 Sesetan" to assist teachers and students in the learning process. With it students will become more interested in the learning process when using this AR-based educational media

Social Networking Sites (SNS) for Japanese Language Learning

Social Networking Sites (SNS) have become an integral part of modern society, influencing various aspects of life, including education. SNS facilitates interactive, collaborative, and reflective learning experiences in language learning. This study aims to evaluate the use of SNS in enhancing learning inside and outside Japanese language classrooms. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a survey method, utilizing a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. Quantitative and qualitative data collected from 85 Japanese Language Education Study Program students were analyzed and presented narratively. The data were examined through the lens of SNS use in foreign language learning and its impact on language acquisition. The results reveal that most students frequently use SNS platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter for learning Japanese, both for classroom materials and independent study. Additionally, students reported that SNS use has improved their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in Japanese. Moreover, SNS has been identified as a motivational tool, fostering students’ confidence in using the language orally and in writing. These findings provide valuable insights for future research on using SNS as a learning medium in Japanese language education.

Love On The Different Spectrum

People with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have often been wrongly viewed as asexual. However, research suggests that their romantic and sexual experiences are more nuanced and deserving of further exploration. By addressing these areas, the study aimed to foster a more supportive and understanding environment for individuals with ASD as they navigate the complexities of relationships. This study delved into the romantic and sexual lives of young adults with ASD, focusing on a young man to understand how his condition influenced his partner preferences and relationships with friends, classmates, and family. Through a semi-structured interview and interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), the study uncovered three key themes: (a) navigating social interactions and boundaries; (b) understanding love and relationships; and (c) desires and expectations in relationships. These insights highlighted the need for tailored sex education, family support, and positive media portrayals. According to the study, a male adolescent with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has difficulty interacting socially, particularly when it comes to recognizing cues and establishing limits with others. His romantic aspirations may be impacted by his inability to comprehend emotions and the impact of societal prejudices. The results show that to normalize his experiences and promote healthy relationships, family support, specialized sex education, and favorable media portrayals are essential.

The impact of social media and online communities of practice in rheumatology

The COVID-19 pandemic changed healthcare practices and social media played a significant role in those changes. While social media and online practice communities allow collaboration and engagement, education and knowledge dissemination, research and publication, promotion, and the potential for improved clinical care, their use also involves perils and pitfalls. The literature suggests that rheumatologists use innovative social media platforms for both professional and social purposes. Similarly, many patients with rheumatic disease use social media for education and communication. This review outlined the background of social media platforms, the reasons for their use, and associated risks. This review further discussed the need to better understand the benefits of social media and online communities as well as the potential negative effects that could impact the practice of rheumatology.

The study aimed to determine the degree of using digital learning resources to improve self-learning among students of the Department of Educational Media and Technology at the Arab East College for Graduate Studies. The study employed the descriptive survey method, by applying a questionnaire to a simple random sample consisting of (43) male and female students from the Department of Educational Media and Technology at the Arab East College for Graduate Studies. The study's objectives focused on answering the following questions: What is the degree of using digital learning resources in the courses of the Department of Educational Media and Technology at the Arab East College for Graduate Studies? What is the level of self-learning among students of the Department of Educational Media and Technology at the Arab East College for Graduate Studies? What is the degree of using digital learning resources in improving self-learning among students of the Department of Educational Media and Technology at the Arab East College for Graduate Studies? The study results showed that the degree of using digital learning resources in the courses of the Department of Educational Media and Technology at the Arab East College for Graduate Studies was high, and the level of self-learning among students of the Department of Educational Media and Technology at the Arab East College for Graduate Studies was high as well. Moreover, the degree of using digital learning resources in improving self-learning among students of the Department of Educational Media and Technology at the Arab East College for Graduate Studies was very high. The research project concluded with a set of recommendations and research proposals that had an impact on enhancing the results reached by the research project and were expected to be a source of benefit in the field of specialization according to the topics addressed by the research project and related to digital learning resources, self-learning, and scientific research.

Building An Android-Based Application For Teenage Women's Reproductive Health Education

Background: Improper nutritional intake during adolescence can cause health problems, such as: impaired physical growth, increased risk of iron deficiency (Iron Deficiency Anemia), decreased intellectual capacity, impaired bone health, impaired sexual organ function, impaired concentration and performance at school, eating disorders and obesity, as well as malnutrition, but teenagers' knowledge about nutrition is very limited. Teenagers easily adapt to digital literacy. Providing digital interventions can have a positive impact on various aspects of health so that efforts to empower teenagers through increasing health promotion and early detection of adolescent health problems digitally are growing rapidly. Aim: The aim of this research is to explore the needs of young women for Android-based nutritional and reproductive health educational applications. Method: The qualitative research method is in-depth interviews via the Zoom application, WhatsApp video call, or WhatsApp voice call. Result: The results of qualitative research show that young women prefer educational media that is easy and fast in providing health information so that educational efforts via smartphones, namely Android-based applications, are an effective solution in providing precise and accurate information about nutritional intake and reproductive health. Digital Media and EdTech-Based Instruction for Students and Teachers with Disabilities in Jordan

There is a need for evaluations to help us understand the associations found in research on special education and new media. The researcher in this study explores the role of digital media in public education, with a specific emphasis on the role of digital media in the education of students with special needs and other types of disabilities. We used qualitative studies for our investigation. Under this pedagogical framework, it will provide helpful materials for digital media teachers and students who may not be fully aware of the benefits and significance of special education in the context of digital media instruction and education. Because there aren't enough studies on the subject, the sample size for this article is 12. The special edition on digital media and educational technology-based education for children with impairments. Initially, the selected pieces were dispersed in 2020 and 2022. Information required for the review's assessment was assembled by classifying the collected data according to the review's rubric. The review is the most useful tool for this assessment since it provides the best method for arranging both large amounts of data and personal judgments. In addition to describing how instructors and library media workers may work together to address the needs of children with disabilities, this article gives an overview of both physical and digital access to the library's resources. Research conducted by specialists has shown a positive correlation between all of these biomarkers.

The Impact of the Development of Social Media on Education

Due to the arrival of the Internet era and the rise of social media, there has always been controversy about the impact of social media on the education field. The purpose of this research is to analyze the advantages and disadvantages that social media brings to the current and future education fields. It will focus on students and educators, two major groups in the field of education, discussing their impact on themselves when using social media now and the potential impact they may get in the future. This paper concludes that the development of social media has a positive impact on the education industry and will continue to assist the education sector in future development. It will demonstrate to the public the benefits and rationality of using social media in education, both now and in the future.

The Influence of Nutritional Anemia Education Media on the Knowledge Level of Adolescents in Anemia Prevention Literature Review

Background: The increasing need for nutrients during adolescence due to growth and menstruation experienced by young women causes young women to be susceptible to anaemia. Anaemia is a condition where the haemoglobin level in the blood is less than the normal value. One of the factors causing anaemia is the lack of knowledge among teenagers about anaemia. Many types of media, both visual and audiovisual, can be used to convey education about anaemia. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of nutrition education media in increasing teenagers' knowledge of preventing anaemia. Methods: This research uses a literature review design. A literature review study is a method used to collect data or sources related to a particular topic, which can be obtained from various sources such as research articles. Results: From the reviewed articles, five showed an increase in teenagers' average knowledge score after being educated using visual media. There is 1 article that shows an increase in teenagers' average knowledge score after being educated using audiovisual media. Three articles showed an increase in teenagers' average knowledge score after being educated using visual and audiovisual media. Conclusion: Visual and audiovisual media are effective when used together to help increase teenagers' nutrition knowledge and provide nutritional education about anaemia. When delivering nutritional education about anaemia to teenagers, using visual and audiovisual media simultaneously is recommended to get effective results.

AI and Thinkable-Assisted learning media for physical education: a descriptive study on collaborative lecturer education

This research aims to determine the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Thunkable interactive learning media application design in cerebrating practices of lecturer education in the context of physical education (PE) methods integrated training. Questions arise on how lecturers can reinforce PE lessons with technologies such as AI and Thunkable and what challenges they face in doing so. This study utilized descriptive research design and data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews with PE lecturers who were knowledgeable about and had utilized AI or Thunkable in their teaching practice. Analysis of quantitative data was also descriptive but focused on transcribing the qualitative data based on, among others, lecturers' technological competence, benefits and challenges of the implementation, student outcome, and qualitative, lecturers' responses. Results found out that despite 70% of lecturers’ awareness of AI in PE lessons, only 30% of them used the available AI tools for the lessons. Out of the few lecturers who attempted to use the Thunkable application, only 25% were able to generate apps which is the focus of the application. Lecturers suggested that students would benefit a lot from AI especially through active participation rewarded by instant feedback without possibilities of concerns being addressed properly due to insufficient training and technical infrastructures. The implications of this study will focus on educational linguistics considering practical uses of AI tools in the language of education in terms of physical education. The use of AI systems in PE lessons can enhance communication and interaction in a multilingual setting that promotes both language and movement skills. The Role of Social Media in Enhancing Religious Tolerance and Interfaith Harmony in Pakistan

This study examines how social media promotes religious tolerance. Religious tolerance and interfaith harmony in Pakistani social media were examined. Education and social media affect religious tolerance, according to research. In a quantitative study, 417 religiously diverse respondents completed a structured questionnaire. We used descriptive statistics, SEM, and moderation analysis to study social media use, religious tolerance, and interfaith harmony. SEM analysis showed a strong positive correlation between social media use and religious tolerance and interfaith harmony. Tolerance fosters interfaith harmony. Education moderated religious tolerance and social media use. With high education, respondents had the strongest relationship, while low education had a weaker but not statistically significant relationship. Social media promotes religious tolerance and interfaith harmony, especially among educated people, this study found. Education and digital literacy boost social media's interfaith benefits. This study encourages constructive social media communication between diverse religious communities to promote social harmony.
