Analisis Kesiapan Mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan untuk Menjadi Guru

This research was conducted in the Building Engineering Education Study Program. The purpose of this study is to analyze the understanding of Building Engineering Education students towards the subject matter to be taught at SMK. Evaluate the understanding possessed by Building Engineering Education students about the teaching profession. Identify the pedagogical skills of Building Engineering Education students. This research is a quantitative approach research with a descriptive method. The results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test normality test obtained a sig of 0.70. Because the significance value is greater than 0.05, it can be concluded that the residual value of the X variable data is normally distributed. showed that most of the students' understanding of the subject matter taught (X1) was high (54.84%), showing that most of the students' understanding of the teaching profession (X2) was high (48.40%), showing that most of the students' pedagogical skills (X3) were high (61.30%), students' understanding of the subject matter to be taught at SMK There were 54.84% of students showing a good understanding of the subject matter to be taught at SMK. Student understanding of the teaching profession 48.40% of students who have a high interest in becoming teachers. There are 61.30% of students who have the necessary pedagogical skills in the learning process.

Gambaran Prokrastinasi Akademik Mahasiswa dan Implikasinya dalam Pelayanan Konseling

This research is motivated by the existence of academic procrastination that occurs among students. Students carry out high academic procrastination because students do not have the ability to manage their time well and prefer to do more enjoyable tasks than completing tasks. This study aims to describe the academic procrastination of curriculum and educational technology students and its effectiveness in counseling services. This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive method. The population in this study was 436 students with a research sample of 209 students of the Curriculum & Educational Technology Department who were active in lectures in the 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 classes of the 2024/2025 academic year. The sampling technique for this study used the Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through the use of instruments using a Likert scale, namely using academic procrastination instruments for students. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the level of academic procrastination of students majoring in curriculum and educational technology as a whole is in the moderate category. (2) the level of academic procrastination of students based on aspects of being stuck in starting and completing tasks is in the moderate category. (3) the level of academic procrastination of students based on aspects of being late in completing tasks is in the moderate category. (4) the level of academic procrastination of students based on aspects of time discrepancies between plans and actual performance is in the moderate category. (5) the level of academic procrastination of students based on aspects of doing more enjoyable activities is in the moderate category. Based on the results of this research, counselors can provide assistance to students to reduce the level of academic procrastination of students in the form of: information services, individual counseling services, group guidance services and group counseling services.

Behavioural Engagement in Visual Programming Online Course Gamification

Visual programming is one of the courses offered in the bachelor's degree in educational technology. Based on a survey in the field, almost 85% of educational technology students do not have a background in learning programming. To provide motivation in learning visual programming, gamification is required in implementation. Usually the gamification principle is held offline. This study aims to determine the behavioral engagement of students during lectures by implementing online gamification. The method used was a survey of 98 students who were taking classes at the 8th meeting. The results showed that empirically the level of student behavioral engagement in visual programming courses was good in the high and medium categories, although some were categorized as low. Hypothetically, students are taking lectures at high and moderate levels. The overall results are discussed in the discussion section of the article.

Implementation of Project-Based Visual Programming Modules on Problem-Solving Skills Information Technology Education students to Support the SDG’s

Students in the Information Technology Education program need to master programming languages as an essential part of their competencies to support educational goals. One of the courses that require programming proficiency is Visual Programming or desktop-based programming. Problem-solving skills are crucial in the development of desktop-based applications. This study aims to analyze the visual programming problem-solving abilities of PTI students in supporting the SDGs through the implementation of the project-based visual programming module. This research employs a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest type. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, involving 15 students currently taking the object-oriented programming course. The data used in this study consists of the test results of problem-solving abilities through the final project. Based on the analysis, the project-based visual programming module has been proven effective in improving students' problem-solving skills, as indicated by the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05. In conclusion, there is a significant difference in students' problem-solving abilities before and after using the project-based module. The improvement in students' problem-solving skills through this module is considered high, with an N-Gain score of 0.839.

The Influence of Augmented Reality Mobile App on Electronics Engineering Students' Self-Competence

Augmented reality (AR) is currently becoming educational trend by offering visualization of learning and making abstract concepts more concrete. Therefore, this research aimed to investigate the effect of AR technology based on mobile application on self-competence of electronics engineering students. It also considered the role of self-regulated learning, intrinsic learning motivation, and perceived usefulness as moderating factors. A cross-sectional survey with quantitative method was conducted on 848 electronics engineering education students at Universitas Negeri Padang, Indonesia. The data were obtained through questionnaires, and Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 3. Furthermore, a fuzzy C-means clustering analysis was carried out using JASP software. The results showed that perceived usefulness had a significant positive effect on students' self-competence and moderated the significant positive relationship between self-regulated learning and self-competence. These empirical results showed that an improved level of self-regulated learning and beneficial application of technology could increase self-competence.

An Expert Usability Evaluation of a Specialized Platform for Designing and Producing Online Educational Talking Books

Educational institutions are increasingly using audio-based learning resources and technologies nowadays, especially for students who are auditory learners and visually impaired. The ability to design and create online educational talking books with a pedagogical foundation has become essential for students studying instructional and information technology in the age of digital learning. With the need to enhance such skills to target students in higher educational institutions, instructional and information technology students have no specialized platform for designing and producing an online educational talking book without web programming challenges. This study suggests a new specialized, web-based platform that can assist students in developing online educational talking books. In this study, fourteen instructional technology experts evaluated the proposed platform’s usability. An online questionnaire was utilized to gather data, applying qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The results show that the proposed platform is appropriate for creating and developing an online educational talking book for the intended audience of students. Furthermore, the suggested platform’s current version had a workable design that was appropriate for helping students acquire the necessary abilities.

Initial training as predictor of students’ motivation and practical skill engagement: mediating impact of learning self-efficacy

ABSTRACT In a rapidly evolving technology and skill-based economy, the development and engagement in practical skills and motivation among electronic technology education students is key to their career readiness and employability. Thus, this study investigated the relationship between initial training experiences and electronic technology education students’ motivation and engagement in practical skill learning. The study employed cross-section and correlational survey method to elicit data from 177 sample of electronic technology education students through structured questionnaires. Path analysis and mediation analysis were used for the data analysis. Results showed that initial training experiences positively and significantly predicted motivation, and students’ engagement in practical skill learning. Learning self-efficacy was found to mediate the relationship between initial training experiences and motivation. These findings emphasise the importance of well-designed initial training to enhance students’ motivation and engagement in practical skill development. Thus, this study makes significant contribution to extant literatures.

Digital Literacy Profile of Indonesian Educational Technology Students in the Era of Digital Transformation

The development of digital technology has led to fundamental changes in the industrial world, known as the industrial transformation of the digital era. One of the serious challenges in education regarding digital technology resources is the ability to control them through algorithmic systems. This research aims to analyze and map the profile of Educational Technology students, particularly Generation Z, who are now in an increasingly mediated and digitalized learning environment. The research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive research design. The sampling method used is total sampling, where the entire population is selected as the research sample. Data collection is conducted using a questionnaire as the instrument. The data analysis techniques include both qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The research findings reveal three categories of digital literacy competencies among Indonesian Educational Technology students: communicative power, selective power, and digital-based creation. Communicative power relates to elements such as social networking, transliteracy, identity management, and self-broadcasting. The digital literacy competency related to communicative skills is categorized as very good, as is the ability to select various digital content when accessing internet-based media. However, the digital literacy competency related to creative power is in the good category, tending towards quite good.

<em>This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between cognitive flexibility and self-efficacy with the entrepreneurial competence of prospective teacher students, namely a case study of Vocational Engineering Education students. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach, cognitive flexibility and self-efficacy as independent variables, entrepreneurial competence as the dependent variable. The population in this study were active students of the Sebelas Maret University majoring Vocational Engineering Education class 2018-2021. The total population is 921 students who consist of 315 students of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Building Engineering Education as many as 297 students, and Information and Computer Engineering Education as many as 309 students. The researcher used the Stratified Random Sampling method in determining the sample size. The technique used to collect data using a Likert scale instrument. During the data collection process, the Sub-competences of Entrepreneurial Competency and Underlying Behavioral Indicators were used to measure the entrepreneurial competencies of prospective teacher students, Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (CFI) to measure the level of cognitive flexibility, and the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) to measure the level of self-efficacy. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between cognitive flexibility and self-efficacy with entrepreneurial competence (R=.736, R2=.542, p=.000). Therefore, it can be said that the entrepreneurial competence of prospective teacher students can be improved through cognitive flexibility and self-efficacy beliefs.</em>

ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS' LEARNING DIFFICULTIES IN COMPLETING ROLE PLAYING PROJECTS SEMINAR COURSES MECHANICAL ENGINEERING EDUCATIONAL STUDY PROGRAM PALANGKA RAYA UNIVERSITY

The Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP), especially the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at Palangka Raya University, seminar courses are compulsory subjects in Semester Seven. The factors that influence the learning difficulties experienced by Mechanical Engineering Education students can be classified into two, namely internal factors and external factors. The purpose of this study was to analyze what factors cause student learning difficulties in completing the Role Playing project in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program seminar course. The research used in this research is mix methods research. This research was conducted at the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, University of Palangka Raya, which is located at Jl. Yos Sudarso, Palangka, District. Jekan Raya, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan. In this study, the subjects were Mechanical Engineering Education students who experienced difficulties in learning seminars in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The research subjects have been selected as many as 31 students. This study uses a questionnaire instrument as a tool to collect data in the form of numbers. The research results show that the factors causing student learning difficulties in completing the Role Playing project in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program seminar course are viewed from: 1) Internal factors, namely the health indicator is 77%, the interest indicator is 87%, the talent indicator is 74%, the motivation indicator is 55%, indicators of cognitive abilities that are equal to 55%, indicators of study habits that are equal to 74%, indicators of understanding of learning objectives that are equal to 61%; 2) External factors, namely the lecturer's ability indicator, which is 77%, the lecturer's teaching method indicator, which is 77%, the study program's social environment indicator, which is 71%, the learning building condition indicator, which is 84%, the parental support indicator, which is 77%, An indicator of the student's economic condition is 71%.

Electrical installation learning is the process of understanding how to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems. This includes an understanding of basic electrical principles, safety codes and standards, and best practices in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment. This study aims to evaluate the effect of using media trainers in practical learning of commercial electrical. Installations on the learning outcomes of electrical engineering education students. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent design. The samples for this research were two groups of students, each consisting of 10 people. One group received learning using trainer media, while the control group received conventional learning. Learning outcome data is collected through a final test which includes cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The results of data analysis show that the use of media trainers significantly improves student learning outcomes in all aspects measured compared to conventional learning. The implication of these findings is the importance of using technology in supporting practical learning in the context of electrical engineering education.

Technological developments bring about change. One of the changes occurring in the education sector is online learning. Online learning allows learning activities between teachers and students to take place without meeting face to face in class and can take place at any time as long as there are devices such as smartphones, laptops and computers that are connected to the internet. Implementing online learning will certainly have a different influence from direct classroom learning. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of exploring the impact of online learning on the learning motivation of educational technology students class of 2023. This research was conducted using quantitative methods, by distributing questionnaires to educational technology students class of 2023, then the data was processed using Microsoft Excel. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of online learning on learning motivation. In this research, it was found that the number of learning motivations in online use was decreasing and the understanding of learning material was low when implementing online learning. Online learning has a big influence on the learning motivation of educational technology students class of 2023.

TPACK competence of mathematics education students in designing constructivist learning

The problem and the aim of the study. This study examines mathematics education students' TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) and constructivist learning skills. The major issue is mathematical education students' ability to integrate technology, pedagogical expertise, and mathematical content knowledge in a constructivist learning setting. The study topics include how well students employ constructivist ideas in learning design, how technology supports mathematics learning, and what variables impact their TPACK abilities. By studying it more, this research may help enhance the mathematics education curriculum and teacher training to meet 21st-century education needs. Research methods. Qualitative case study research is used in this work. 23 students of the mathematics education program at Universitas Negeri Surabaya were selected. After observing students in constructivist mathematics learning design activities, in-depth interviews were conducted to understand better their views on TPACK and the constructivist approach, and their learning plans were analyzed. Students' TPACK abilities in constructivist learning will be assessed using thematic and triangulated data analysis. The research findings may help explain the problems and opportunities of constructing a mathematics education curriculum, particularly when merging TPACK and constructivist techniques. Results. The average TPACK competency of math education students is 78.4%, according to studies. According to the TPACK component analysis, students scored 85.2% on the Technology Knowledge Test (TK), 79.6% on the Pedagogical Knowledge Test (PK), and 75.8% on the Content Knowledge Test (CK). However, CK component proficiency varied, suggesting mathematical content knowledge should be improved. In-depth interviews showed that students with formal educational technology training or courses had higher TPACK ratings (M = 82.1%) than those without (M = 76.3%). These data show that formal education and training improve TPACK abilities. To optimize the constructivist method, the CK component must be improved. This research shows that technology integration and mathematics subject mastery are crucial to constructivist learning curricula and training programs for mathematics education students. Conclusion. The constructivist learning TPACK skills of mathematics education students are examined in this study. Students demonstrated technology integration, instructional competency, and mathematical topic knowledge with an average TPACK score of 78.4%. According to TPACK component analysis, pupils have good technical skills (TK) but varied mathematics topic knowledge. TPACK scores are higher for technology education students, demonstrating the role of formal learning in competency. These findings show that CK needs to include constructivism better. In conclusion, comprehensive training and mathematical content additions can improve students' TPACK skills, enabling constructivist technology usage. These insights may assist in improving mathematics curriculum and training.

Mapping the Spectrum of Expertise of Graduates from the Electrical Engineering Education Study Programme at Universitas Negeri Padang

Upon graduation, the aim of education graduates is to become qualified educators capable of meeting the needs of education, society, and industry. Graduates of the Electrical Engineering Education Study Programme are expected to possess superior competence and provide solutions to societal problems. The research conducted is descriptive in nature, utilising a qualitative approach. The study was carried out at the Faculty of Engineering, State University of Padang. The research instrument comprised documents such as course outlines, course synopses, and syllabi in Electrical Engineering Education at Padang State University. Data was collected through interviews and documentation. The study aimed to create a mapping of Electrical Engineering Education courses at Padang State University. The UNP Electrical Engineering Education program requires students to complete a set number of courses each semester. In semester 1, students must complete 22 SKS; in semester 2, 22 SKS; in semester 3, 22 SKS; in semester 4, 19 SKS; in semester 5, 22 SKS; in semester 6, 20 SKS; in semester 7, 8 SKS; and in semester 8, 10 SKS of final courses. The requirement for Semester Credit Units for Electrical Engineering Education students at Padang State University is 145 credits.

Can vocational interests of students be used to recruit suitable candidates for teacher training programmes in technical vocational education and training in Germany?

PurposeIn Germany, various approaches have been taken to tackle the current teacher shortage in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). One attempt to remedy the shortage in Bavaria has been the introduction of an engineering education study programme at universities of applied sciences. Ideal candidates for this programme should have an interest in both engineering and social interaction. For effective recruitment, therefore, it is necessary to know applicants’ characteristics such as their vocational interests. In this study, the vocational interest profiles of students in TVET teacher training programmes were identified and their interest profiles and further characteristics were compared with those of other VET students at universities and universities of applied sciences.Design/methodology/approachAn online questionnaire based on Holland’s interest theory and adapted from the Allgemeiner-Interessen-Struktur-Test-3 (interest structure test) was administered to 85 students in TVET teacher training programmes at universities and universities of applied sciences in Bavaria. Items regarding reasons for choosing a particular study programme, university location and other personal details were added.FindingsThe vocational interest profiles of students at universities and universities of applied sciences can be described as similar but weakly differentiated. Insights are provided by the characteristics of students such as the majority being first-time academics in the family. The reasons for choosing the degree programme and university location highlight the fact that a large proportion of students in engineering education would not have chosen a teaching-related degree programme if it had not been offered at the respective university of applied sciences.Research limitations/implicationsAlthough the sample in this study was small and, therefore, limiting, it represented a high proportion of TVET teacher training students in Bavaria and a substantial proportion of first-year students in TVET teacher training programmes at universities and universities of applied sciences in Bavaria (section 2.2 and 3.1). Thus, the findings provide valuable insights into commonalities in interest profiles between engineering education students at universities of applied sciences and other TVET students at universities. With respect to the domain of the chosen vocational specialisation, differentiated profiles emerged that, for example, showed a stronger artistic orientation among students in construction technology/wood. For further analysis, the previous variable-centred orientation of the analysis can be supplemented by person-centred analyses (e.g. cluster analysis and latent variable mixture modelling, LVMM) (cf. Leon et al., 2021).Practical implicationsThe findings in this study reveal the potential for attracting candidates to universities of applied sciences if they prefer to study in rather rural areas close to their hometowns. With the aim to educate prospective teachers for future work not only in metropolitan regions but in rural areas too, offering bachelor degree programmes in rural areas would seem promising. A regional option can boost the recruitment of new students and attract candidates that otherwise would be unable to pursue studies or a career as a teacher in vocational education. The results of this study and those of previous studies suggest that universities of applied sciences can cooperate with universities to help solve the teacher shortage problem.Social implicationsOverall, it is apparent that the students' interests reached comparatively high values in all interest orientations and thus are only weakly differentiated. If undifferentiated profiles indicate low levels of career readiness, this significantly affects the recruitment of young people for the teaching profession. Assessing career orientation and promoting vocational interests should be prioritised during secondary school education. Vocational orientation measures are essential and should provide insight into typical activities of daily work life in different professions and thus pique and foster interests.Originality/valueThis study provides insight into how to respond to the teacher shortage in VET by identifying important characteristics of engineering education students using vocational interest profiling.

Development of Android-Based Interactive Learning Media in a Surveying Quantity Course

This study discusses the design and development of interactive Android-based learning media for the quantity surveying course for students in the field of building engineering education. Today's technological advancements necessitate innovation in educational media so that learning can be adapted to digital advancements and made more engaging in order for students to independently study the topic and comprehend the instructional medium. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the validity and practicality of interactive learning media based on Android in the quantitative surveying course. The DDD-E development model is used in this project's research and development (R&D) approach. Three experts validated the product, and 58 building engineering education students who did the surveying quantity course during the semester of January–June 2023 practiced their skills. According to the evaluation of interactive learning media based on Android that was done, the findings of the evaluation by material specialists were reached at 0.88 with a high validity category. The assessment of media experts obtained a score of 0.8 in the high validity category. The practicality assessment received a score of 0.80 in the high practicality category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the interactive learning media in the surveying quantity course made with the DDD-E research model can be said to be valid and practical with high categories and can be used in learning.
