Relationship Between School Climate and Teacher Job Satisfaction: A Meta-Analytic Study

It is said that a professional teacher is a teacher who performs well. One indicator of a teacher's good performance is that it can be seen from the high level of job satisfaction of the teacher. It is expected that teachers who have high job satisfaction can increase their professionalism in their work. Several previous studies said a relationship exists between school climate and teacher job satisfaction. Unlike previous research, this study aims to determine the strength of the relationship or the magnitude of the difference between school climate and job satisfaction through a meta-analysis method with ten highly reputable articles. The results show that school climate positively correlates with teacher job satisfaction. The advice is to obtain information about administration and management in developing a school climate. This is because the school climate can facilitate teacher job satisfaction by increasing teacher professionalism in performance to produce quality students following the goals of Indonesian education stated in the curriculum regarding educational goals.

Tradicals, Pillars and Directions For Educational Curriculum Development In Indonesia: A Literature Study

This paper aims to identify curriculum traditions, including curriculum changes from time to time in the history of Indonesian education, the five pillars of curriculum development as considerations in curriculum development, and to see the direction of curriculum development. The author used 17 references from scientific journals and books in this study. Tracking reference sources using Google Scholar. The study results show that the educational curriculum change is greatly influenced by political factors such as the change of government and the minister in charge of education, as well as by the shift in education policy. There are five pillars of curriculum development: curriculum objectives, content or materials, learning strategies, curriculum organization and evaluation. The current curriculum development direction focuses on technology integration through the Independent Curriculum platform. As for universities, they implement Independent Learning Independent Campus, which is expected to answer global challenges and prepare the generation to face an increasingly complex world.

Indonesian School Principals' Strategic Leadership in Implementing 21st-Century Learning

In the 21st century, school principals are pivotal in navigating educational quality amidst evolving challenges and continuous changes. Effective principals must adapt to curriculum shifts, policy updates, and rapid technological advancements while possessing substantial information and communication technology skills. This research concluded that Indonesian principals must continually enhance their leadership skills, focusing on flexibility and innovation to stay relevant and impactful. Integrating educational technology, particularly in online and hybrid learning, ensures access for students and teachers, helping to bridge the digital divide and improving learning quality. Furthermore, solid managerial capabilities allow principals to allocate budgets and human resources wisely, promoting sustainability despite resource limitations. Finally, transparent and participatory communication strengthens community involvement and support, contributing to Indonesia's overall education quality

Peningkatan Kemampuan Pedagogi Mahasiswa Melalui Model Lesson Study pada Mata Kuliah Microteaching

The purpose of this research is to improve students pedagogical skills through a lesson study model in microteaching courses. The type of research conducted is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were 6 students from the Mathematics Education, Biology Education, English Education and Indonesian Education Study Programs at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Iqra Buru University. Data collection uses observation sheets on the lesson plans made and the learning implementation process. The results of the research obtained are: 1) in preparing the learning implementation plan), from the 7 aspects that were assessed, namely: (1) the completeness of the identity of the RPP is obtained from 65% to 85%; (2) the formulation of learning objectives was obtained from 67.8% to 90%; (3) The description of the subject matter was obtained from 65% to 85%; (4) learning methods, strategies and media were obtained by 58%; to 92.6%; (5) the learning plan was obtained by 66.6%, to 84.3%; (6) The assessment was obtained by 70%, to 90%; and (7) learning resources were obtained by 75%, to 88.5. 2) Implementation (Do) with the application of lesson study there was a very good increase where from 3 aspects that were assessed to obtain ideals, namely (1) Introduction, 68.7% to 88% of categories; (2) Core, 61.6%, to 85%; and (3) 65% cover to 95. In conclusion, the application of the lesson study model in microteaching courses can improve students' pedagogical teaching skills.

BERBAGI PRAKTIK BAIK DALAM BUKTI KARYA LUARAN IN HOUSE TRAINING SEBAGAI MANIFESTASI TAHUN PRAEDICARE TIM SEKOLAH YAYASAN SANTO DOMINIKUS

One of the works of the Saint Dominic Sister is education. As Indonesian education is shifting in the paradigm, the foundation feels the urgency to equip the education team with the ability to contribute to the Indonesian education trend without losing sight of its vision and mission. One of the Indonesian education trends for teachers is the use of Platform Indonesian Mengajar (PMM - Indonesian Teaching Platform) in which the teachers are expected to take part in developing their portfolio through the platform. By the foundation, this platform is deemed to be in line with the praedicare year I (2024-2025) in which the foundation focuses on making a public declaration. In the effort to announce good practices, preliminary data indicated that few of the school team, who are expected to be role models for other teachers, have actively contributed to PMM. A deeper analysis revealed that the foundation needed to facilitate those teachers to be familiar with the application. To deal with this challenge, a one-day workshop on how to upload the portfolio and what content to be uploaded on the PMM was conducted. The results of the workshop were that all school team in YSD schools were successfully upload their portfolio.

Strategi Pengelolaan Kelas yang Efektif dalam Meningkatkan Disiplin Belajar Siswa

Education data according to sources from Databoks states that the Indonesian population with a high school education of 15 years or more reaches 30.22%, while junior high school reaches 22.74%, and elementary school reaches 24.62%. It is very unfortunate that with a very large population, the majority of Indonesians have very little education. Of 12 countries in Asia, Indonesia's education quality is in 12th place, with Vietnam at the bottom, according to a survey conducted by the Political and Economic Risk Consultant (PERC). Data collected by the Swedish World Economic Forum in 2000 showed that Indonesia only ranked 37th out of 57 countries surveyed. In addition, an education quality survey conducted by the same organization in Indonesia shows that Indonesia is only considered a follower rather than a technology leader in 53 countries in the world. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method by emphasizing literature study or literature study in analyzing variables that are relevant to the discussion in the research. The results of this research show that the low quality of education in Indonesia is caused by the learning process, especially in classroom management. Basically, classroom management is very important so that students can understand learning comfortably because of supportive classroom conditions. There are several strategies obtained in this research, namely planning and implementing class rules, using inclusive teaching techniques and approaches, and developing positive relationships and emotional support for students.

Scrutinizing Indonesian pre-service teachers’ technological knowledge in utilizing AI-powered tools

Educators have widely adopted artificial intelligence (AI) as a product of technology to prepare teaching materials and enhance their understanding of technology integration in language teaching. As prospective teachers who may teach digital native students later, pre-service teachers must be more capable and knowledgeable in technologically-based pedagogy, materials, and assessment. This study aimed to explore English as a foreign language (EFL) pre-service teachers’ technological knowledge of utilizing AI-powered tools using the technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) framework and investigate their strategies in the advanced of their technological knowledge. This mixed-method research design employed a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and a semi-structured interview as instruments to collect data. Fifty-five EFL pre-service teachers were purposively selected. Data from the questionnaire were analyzed statistically and descriptively, and data from interviews were analyzed thematically. The first findings of this study comprehensively revealed that EFL pre-service teachers exhibit a moderate level of proficiency in addressing technological knowledge (TK), technological pedagogical knowledge (TPK), technological content knowledge (TCK), and TPACK in utilizing AI-powered tools. Meanwhile, the second finding revealed that the participants employed four key strategies to advance their technological knowledge using AI-powered tools: engaging in TPD programs, collaborating with tech-savvy colleagues, staying informed about AI trends, and experimenting with AI-powered tools.

Indonesian Teachers’ Perspectives on Gender Representation in EFL Textbook Visual Images for Elementary Schools

Background: The use of gendered visual imagery in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) textbooks has raised concerns about perpetuating gender stereotypes and the potential effect on students' conceptions of gender roles. Despite the widespread use of mandated textbooks in primary classrooms in Indonesia, less is known about instructors' perceptions of gendered visual imagery. Methodology: This qualitative research employed a mixed-methods approach, incorporating quantitative and qualitative data collection and analytic methodologies. An investigation was conducted in Samarinda East Kalimantan to collect the perspectives of 41 teachers who teach English in elementary school regarding the gendered visual representations present in the mandatory EFL textbooks. Furthermore, 12 teachers were chosen to partake in exhaustive interviews to present more informed and profound perspectives. Findings: They merely focused on how to teach the materials rather than scrutinizing the gender bias represented through texts and visual images. The study revealed that a significant proportion of teachers (80%) believed that gendered visual imagery in textbooks was not impartial and could influence the gender roles of pupils. Furthermore, a significant majority (75%) said they often adjusted or avoided using these pictures in their teaching methods. The interviews highlighted the teachers' concern about the possible negative impact of these pictures on students' social relationships and self-image. However, they merely focused on how to teach the materials rather than scrutinizing the gender bias represented through texts and visual images Conclusion: The findings suggest that elementary school teachers in Indonesia know the potential negative repercussions of gendered visual images in EFL textbooks and have implemented measures to mitigate these effects. The study underscores the importance of incorporating diverse and inclusive visual materials into educational resources to promote gender equality and positive gender representations. This concept is new to them. They agree that gender equality needs to be addressed and discussed as part of the content in classroom practices to raise students’ awareness of gender bias. Originality: Previous studies have investigated the frequency and occurrence of gender bias in textbooks, found in images and texts. However, there is a lack of investigation into teachers' awareness of gender stereotypes in textbooks. This study enhances the existing corpus of literature by examining the perspectives of teachers on the use of gendered visual images in EFL textbooks in elementary schools in Indonesia. It emphasizes the importance of teachers and policymakers advocating for more inclusive educational resources and considering the impact of visual materials on students' gender perceptions

Comparison Between Contextual And Conventional Learning on The Poetry Writing Ability of Senior High School 1 Lembang Students

Students' ability to write poetry must be more meaningful, this will not happen if Indonesian language teachers still use conventional models in their learning. Breakthroughs such as Contextual Learning are needed so that learning to write poetry is more meaningful for students. The aim of the research is to determine the differences in the poetry writing abilities of students who study using Contextual Learning and conventional models at SMAN 1 Lembang. The research used in this research is experimental, with Non-equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control-Group Design. The population in this study was class X students of Senior High School 1 Lembang, totaling 10 classes. The sample was determined randomly, so classes X 3 and X 7 were determined, each with 31 students. The instrument uses the Poetry Writing Ability Test. Data analysis follows the following steps: 1) Normality test with p-value > 0.05, 2) Homogeneity test with p-value < 0.05, and 3) ANOVA test with p-value < 0.05. If the data is not normal or homogeneous then a Non-Parametric test is carried out using the Wilcoxxon and Mann-Whitney U tests. The research results show that the use of Contextual Learning in learning to write poetry provides better results when compared to conventional models.

Self-esteem, Islamic Behavior, and Writing Assessment for Indonesian Language Madrasa Teachers: An Empirical Phenomenological Investigation

Improving students' academic achievement in Indonesian language studies at madrasas requires effective writing evaluations. This study explores how Islamic behavior and self-esteem attribution among Indonesian language teachers at Madrasas influence their approach to creating writing assessments using a phenomenological method. Through in-depth interviews with twenty teachers, the thematic analysis revealed that teachers' Islamic values provide a religious framework that shapes their understanding and application of assessment development. Teachers' evaluations incorporate moral and religious principles, reflecting on their self-worth and the intrinsic value of students' written work. Islamic behavior and the attribution of self-esteem enhance teachers' commitment to fair, reflective assessments, which ultimately support students' literacy and academic growth. The study suggests that embedding Islamic behavior and self-esteem attribution in writing assessments strengthens teacher development and student success in Indonesian language studies. Future studies could further explore the role of these factors in teacher preparation and assessment practices in Indonesian madrasas.

Penerapan Teori Behavioristik Classical Conditioning Oleh I.P Pavlov dalam Pembelajaran IPA Siswa Kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar

This research was conducted in response to a number of difficulties faced as well as the low level of interest in learning from grade 5 elementary school students in the context of science learning. This study focuses on the science learning ability of grade 5 students in elementary schools in response to the results of PISA 2018, Indonesian Education Report Card Data, and AKM Scores which show the low level of students' science literacy skills. Using the Nonequivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group design, experimental research was conducted to evaluate the impact of the application of Behavioristic Classical Conditioning Theory by I.P Pavlov in science learning. Class V students were divided into experimental and control groups with the Cluster Random Sampling Technique. The test method was used to collect science learning ability data, and the data analysis used the Polled Variance T test due to homogeneous data variance. The results showed a significant difference in science learning ability between the group that applied the Behavioristic Classical Conditioning Theory and the control group. The implications of this research provide a solid foundation for designing effective learning strategies in the future, focusing on curriculum development and learning approaches that can enhance students' understanding and interest in learning. As an effort to improve the quality of science learning in elementary schools, this research provides significant conceptual and applicative contributions.

Teachers’ perceived perspective and selfefficacy in teaching EFL using Intelligent Computer-Assisted Language Learning (ICALL): A rigorous analysis

This study aims to describe Indonesian EFL teachers’ perceived perspective and self-efficacy in EFL teaching using ICALL, reveal the prominent factor influencing each variable, and examine the effect of the perceived perspective on their self-efficacy. This study used a cross-sectional survey design with a quantitative approach. There were 284 Indonesian EFL teachers taught in secondary schools chosen using a voluntary sampling technique as the respondents. Data were obtained by employing a Perceptify-ICALL questionnaire with forty items using a six-point Likert’s scaling method (α = .839). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, hierarchical multiple regression, and MANOVA. Results showed that teachers’ perceived perspective was in a very high category, but not for their self-efficacy. The prominent factor influencing their perspective was the support and facilities provided by the school and government in succeeding EFL teaching using ICALL. Whereas the most influencing factor of their self-efficacy was their skills in operating computers and AI. Another finding was the fact that the teachers’ perceived perspective significantly affected teachers’ mastery experience. 2Pratama, Lestari, Kirkgöz & Imaniar: Intelligent Computer-Assisted Language Learning The JALT CALL Journal vol. 20 no.3 This study suggests that Indonesian EFL teachers’ perceived perspective in EFL teaching using ICALL is well constructed, but their efficacy is on the contrary due to lower skills in operating computers and AI-powered devices or programs. Future professional development programs in improving the teachers’ computer and AI-operation skills are suggested to be undertaken as well as bringing the ICALL-based approach to EFL learning.

Supervised by Dr. Andi Irwan, S.E., M.Si. and Jumaidah, S. Sos., M. Si. This research aims to determine the implementation of work discipline on employee performance at the South Sulawesi Provincial Education Office. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with the number of respondents being 55 employees who were sampled using a sampling technique, namely the sloving technique, where the data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The analysis used in this research is a simple linear regression test. The results of partial testing of work discipline variables on employee performance have a significant influence on employee performance as proven based on partial test results with a significant value of f 0.001 < 0.05.

"I'm not a tech-savvy teacher": An English teacher's journey in applying TPACK in Indonesia

Although research on TPACK in education has been done, limited studies have explored the application of TPACK in the EFL classroom within an Indonesian context. The aim of this research was to narrate the story of an experienced English teacher who encountered challenges in implementing the TPACK framework, and to reveal the advantages of utilizing the TPACK framework in the Indonesian teaching context. The researcher collected data using a set of steps consist semi-structure interviews, observations, and document analysis. An English teacher working in an Indonesian setting was selected to take part in this narrative inquiry. The interview information was examined using thematic analysis. The research discovered that applying the TPACK model was a complicated process hindered by internal and external barriers. On the other hand, using the TPACK framework offers advantages to both students and teachers, including increased motivation, a more engaging and flexible learning environment, and prospects to create multimedia resources. The results offer valuable insights for English teachers in developing nations about integration of TPACK in English instruction.

Indonesian Teaching Factory: The Recent Breakthrough in Education at Vocational High Schools

<em>Vocational High Schools (VHS) were established to prepare students to work in specific fields. VHS previously used various learning models, but in recent years, they have focused on The Teaching Factory Learning Model. Some VHS that used other learning models previously produced VHS graduate results that did not meet expectations, contributing to a high unemployment rate in Indonesia. This research aims to assess the implementation of The Teaching Factory Learning Model in VHS in Indonesia. It uses a qualitative research approach with a literature study method. The results of this research are: (1) The Teaching Factory Learning Model is the primary choice of learning model implemented by VHS in Indonesia, (2) Vocational Education in Indonesia recognizes three types of TeFa implementation, including (a) VHS providing space for industrial partners, ( b) VHS working with industrial partners to build a shared space outside their location, and (c) VHS conducting learning at the industrial partner's location. The Indonesian government has issued various regulations and revitalized the Teaching Factory to support the successful implementation of this learning model in VHS</em>

A Learning Model for Explanation Text Literacy Using Flipbook Applications in SMP/MTS

This research aims to develop an explanatory text literacy learning model using the flipbook application as media in SMP/MTS. The background to this problem 1) How is the planning for an explanatory text literacy learning model using the flipbook application as a medium in class VIII SMP/MTS? 2) How to implement an explanatory text literacy learning model using the flipbook application as a medium in class VIII SMP/MTS? 3) What is the effectiveness of the explanatory text literacy learning model using the flipbook application as a medium in class VIII SMP/MTS? This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) research and development method with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The steps of this research consist of, needs analysis, learning model design, learning model development, implementation of learning model products, evaluation of learning model products. Data collection in this research was by collecting data from the results of expert validation questionnaires and questionnaires from student assessments. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively using a Likert scale. The results of the validation test by media experts obtained a score of 77.94%, the validation test by language experts obtained a score of 81.25%, the Indonesian language teacher's response score obtained a score of 97.33%, and the average student response obtained a score of 82.13%. The conclusion of this research is that the explanatory text literacy learning model using the flipbook application media in SMP/MTS meets the appropriate criteria to be used as a learning model by students or teachers in Indonesian language subjects with explanatory text material in class VIII SMP/ MTS students.

Digital Teaching Materials for Historical Narrative Texts Oriented to Character Education for SD/MI Students

This research aims to develop digital teaching materials for historical narrative texts oriented towards character education for SD/MI students. Background to the problem of this research 1) What is the need for digital teaching materials for historical narrative texts oriented towards character education for SD/MI? 2) How are digital teaching materials for historical narrative texts oriented towards character education for SD/MI? 3) What is the feasibility of digital teaching materials for historical narrative texts oriented towards character education for SD/MI? This research uses research and development methods with the ADDIE (Analysis Design Development Implementation Evaluate) model. The steps in this research consist of needs analysis, designing digital teaching materials, developing digital teaching materials, implementing digital teaching material products, and product evaluation (digital teaching materials). Data collection in this research was by collecting data from the results of expert validation questionnaires and student assessment questionnaires. The data obtained was analyzed descriptively using a Likert scale. The results of the validation test by material experts obtained a value of 2.93, the validation test by media experts obtained a value of 3.00. The validation test by the Indonesian language teacher received a value of 3.03. The results of implementing e-module teaching materials in schools received a positive response from students with a score of 3.2. The conclusion of this research is that digital historical narrative text teaching materials oriented towards character education for SD/MI students meet the appropriate criteria for use as teaching materials by students or teachers in Indonesian language subjects. Exploring the influence of EFL teachers’ informal digital learning on creative classroom instruction: a cross-sectional study

This study addresses the limited exploration in the literature regarding the influence of EFL teachers’ informal digital learning of English (IDLE) on their creativity in Indonesian EFL classroom instructions. Using a cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 244 Indonesian EFL teachers, encompassing both pre-service and in-service teachers. Through multiple regression analysis and Rasch modelling analysis, the study evaluated the association between teachers’ IDLE participation, demographics, and their teaching creativity. Findings of the present study revealed that Indonesian EFL pre-service and in-service teachers actively participate in Informal Digital Learning of English (IDLE), which impacts their teaching creativity. Nearly half (49.18%) engage strongly in activities like listening to English songs and watching YouTube videos, while 36.88% moderately engage in online educational content and social media conversations. A smaller group (13.93%) shows lower engagement in IDLE. The regression analysis revealed that while IDLE significantly predicted teaching creativity (p < 0.001), demographic factors did not indicate a substantial influence on creativity in teaching practices. Additionally, a Rasch-Wright map analysis unveiled that over half of the participants displayed strong creativity in teaching, with a notable inclination among younger teachers towards innovative and student-centered pedagogical strategies. The findings of the current study highlight the need for further exploration into the dynamics between informal digital learning, demographics, and creative teaching approaches, emphasizing the potential for fostering innovative pedagogical practices in language education.

OKE STAR: Supporting the success of lesson study in high school

The first aim of our study is to document how the SBLS implementation process works. The second aim is to analyze teacher and student responses to implementing a School Based Lesson Study (SBLS). This research is survey research. The survey was conducted at one of the state high schools in Malang. The data collection process was carried out through observation, interviews, and the administration of questionnaires. Data collection was carried out in May 2024. Participants in this study were 33 students. They are 1 school principal, three Indonesian language subject teachers, and 29 class XI science students. A total of 16 male students and 13 female students. The students' ages range from 15 to 16 years. Observation, interviews, and student and teacher response questionnaires collected data. Data was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The survey results show that implementing Lesson Study (LS) in schools has gone well. Students no longer look awkward when observed; teachers are skilled at planning and reflecting on learning outcomes. The school principal actively participates in LS activities by implementing the OKE STAR method. The response of teachers and students to learning that uses LS activities is very good.
