An empirical study of students' perceptive on e-learning systems success

PurposeThe effect of e-learning success relies on the learning management system and its effectiveness provided to the learners. As a result, higher education institutions (HEIs) are expanding using various e-learning platforms and focusing on system and information quality. This study adopts the ISS (information system success) model to assess students' perception of e-learning system success (e-LSS).Design/methodology/approachA quantitative research approach was used to analyse 151 students' perceptions collected from HEIs in Oman. The survey instrument was built on prior research related to DeLone and McLean’s ISS model, and expert opinion was involved for validation. The snowball sampling method was used to collect the data, and participants' anonymity and confidentiality were maintained as part of the ethical process. The reliability of data was tested using Cronbach's alpha analysis. A statistical tool like correlation was used to examine the relationship between the study variables (system quality, information quality, user satisfaction and e-LSS).FindingsThis study’s results revealed that students positively perceived system usage, and users' satisfaction with e-learning systems (e-LSs) was high. Moreover, the correlation results indicated that the system and information quality aspects of e-learning significantly influence e-LSS.Practical implicationsThe study results on students' perspective towards e-learning information systems can be advantageous to HEIs and various stakeholders like policymakers, and e-learning platforms. It may support and assist the HEIs and corporate firms in deciding on e-learning platforms for students and learners, respectively. Moreover, the consolidated findings will contribute to the existing literature on e-learning success factors from students’ perspectives.Originality/valueThis study examines the students' perception of e-LSS in Oman HEIs and advocates prospects for further in-depth study and analysis.

Perancangan dan Pembuatan Sistem Informasi E-Learning Menggunakan Web Framework CodeIgniter Studi Kasus: SMA Ksatrya Jakarta

The influence of information and communication technology on the world of education is rapidly evolving, shifting the learning paradigm from face-to-face teaching to media-based learning. SMA Perguruan Ksatrya Jakarta, under the Yayasan Perguruan Ksatrya, focuses on innovation in the field of education. However, the current learning system remains manual, relying on face-to-face interactions between teachers and students, which are limited in discussions and interactions. This condition leads to a lack of achieving learning targets. This research aims to design an e-learning information system using the CodeIgniter framework. The selection of CodeIgniter is expected to facilitate e-learning, enhance efficiency, and improve the accuracy of learning management. System development involves PHP and MySQL, designed based on UML principles. The research output yields an e-learning information system aimed at enhancing the understanding of the teaching and learning process at SMA Ksatrya. This system is anticipated to support more dynamic interaction between teachers and students while expediting the learning process following the SDLC method. SMA Ksatrya Jakarta has the potential to enhance the quality of learning, facilitate better interaction, and expedite the learning process in line with the strategically set objectives.

Design of Web-Based Laboratory E-Learning Information System (Case Study in UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur Industrial Engineering’s Laboratory)

This time, the development of technology has increase rapidly, one example of technology application in education is development the concept of e-learning. However, the Industrial Management and Statistic Laboratory (IMSL) located at UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur in the Industrial Engineering Department does not have the supporting facilities for practicum learning such as E-Learning. In other words, the learning process between laboratory assistants and practitioners is very limited, and causes a lack of intensity in interaction between laboratory assistants and practitioners. In this research, a web-based E-Learning information system will be produced to provide easiness in practicum learning for people who related to the laboratory, and can be accessed anytime and anywhere. The research method for collecting required data is by observation and interviews. This e-Learning is designed with ​​PHP, HTML, and SQL programming languages. And the supporting software that are Google Chrome, XAMPP, VSCode, and FileZilla. Based on the test results, it is concluded that the web-based IMSL E-Learning information system has provided easy learning to the practitioners and people who involved in the laboratory. While laboratory assistants can send announcements about practicum information and practitioners can do the revisions or acc reports to certain laboratory assistants systematically and online.

PENERAPAN METODE WATERFALL DALAM PERANCANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI E-LEARNING BERBASIS WEB PADA MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH (MTS) AL-WUSHO RUMAH SETIA RUMAH SETIA

Education is one of the benchmarks for the progress of a nation. One way to advance education is to follow technological developments. And technological developments are currently developing so rapidly, one of the technologies that exist in the world of education today is E-Learning. E-Learning is a form of technological progress that can be utilized effectively and efficiently for the learning process. E-Learning is an education system that uses electronic applications to support the development of teaching and learning activities using internet media. (1) Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Wusho Rumah Setia is one of the schools in Sukoharjo Regency. At Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Al-Wusho Rumah Setia the learning process is still traditional, namely the teaching and learning process between teachers and students is only carried out in class meetings and attendance using manual recording. Based on these conditions, an information system is needed that can facilitate the attendance process and can monitor teachers so that they can produce accurate reports. Utilization of information technology today can be used as a solution to overcome these problems. Therefore, as a solution to the problems above, this research provides a solution for making E-learning Information System Design. The National Training and Simulation Association reports that retention of material after learning through e-learning can reach 25-60%, whereas through classical learning it is only around 8-10%.

PEMBANGUNAN E-LEARNING SENI BUDAYA BALI BERBASIS WEB

Gahita.Com is a web-based e-learning platform, which provides videos for learning Balinese art and culture. The development of a Web-based Balinese Cultural Arts e-Learning information system on Gahita.Com has been successfully completed in accordance with the Team's agreement. Development is carried out using the Scrum Method where the work is organized into a unit called a backlog so that each progress can be easily tracked. Functionality testing carried out using the blackbox testing method on the development of Gahita e-Learning which consists of Login, User Profile, e-Learning Access, Quiz and Certificate can be said to work as expected. Testing is carried out by testers or product owners without knowing the details of the code implementation of the features or functionality being tested, so that the testing phase can be carried out more flexibly without considering the code aspect. The qualitative approach between the author and the resource person resulted in an alarming statement for the future of cultural arts being eroded by globalization which was considered to have a negative impact so that an e-learning information system was built in which there was a digital library which is expected to be useful for the next generation of cultural arts in Bali.

Delone and McLean Models for measuring the success of Flores University e-learning information system

The University of Flores first conducted E-Learning learning amid the covid 19 pandemic, the problem faced was that most of the lecturers at the University of Flores did not understand E-learning by using information technology. The Faculty of Information Technology facilitated all faculties at the university to conduct e-training. E-Learning, in the learning process. The aim is to measure success in implementing the University of Flores E-Learning information system. The model in this study is the Delone and Mclean model to measure success with six dimensions, namely, system quality, information quality, users, service quality, user satisfaction, net benefits. The method in this research is observation, a survey using questionnaires in the form of a Likert scale, and a literature study. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression. The results showed that the Delone and Mclean models were very well used to measure the success of using e-learning. The conclusion is that the quality of information on the use percentage of 34.4%, the quality of service they use of 33.8%, the quality of the system on the satisfaction of the users is 38.6%, and the quality of the services on the satisfaction of the users 34,5%, the users on the satisfaction of the users 43,4%, use of net benefits is 58.7% and user satisfaction of net benefits is 48.8%. The higher the value of these variables, the higher the success rate of information systems using E-learning at universities will be.

Web-Based Gamification Loaded E-Learning Information System For Junior High Schools

Currently teaching and learning activities are carried out using E-learning facilities, E-learning is a means of teaching and learning activities from school to college. E-learning itself is now one of the standard learning methods in several schools and gamification is needed to support e-learning so that users are interested in its use. Gamification itself implements in-game features into a non-game context such as points, badges, and leaderboard. The method used in this research is the waterfall method which this method plans a system from upstream to downstream. In terms of appearance, this website looks attractive in for its users. This system is easy to use, so it is easier for students to do learning even though they are at home. The result of this research is that students can learn anywhere using available devices.

Analisa dan Perancangan Sistem Informasi Elearning Berbasis Web untuk Memantau Aktivitas Belajar Peserta Didik di SMP Fioretti Tigaraksa

An effective learning system is a learning system that combines collaboration between teachers, students and parents. Many schools are still using traditional methods to manage data and school management, especially in terms of learning materials and managing student grades, so that schools and parents find it difficult to monitor the learning activities of students. For example at SMP Fioretti Tigaraksa, value management and curriculum management are still manual in inputting, the data managed by the school is input in stages without an application or system that regulates and stores it, so that parents, students or teachers find it difficult to monitor the learning activities of participants. such as grades data, curriculum data, learning materials and student attendance, all of these things are still done manually causing the risk of losing data is quite large in each school year. Web-based E-learning Information System can be used as a solution to problems in the field of education, especially to provide materials, student attendance and manage student grades. In this system a prototype is made that will be built in the future, this e-learning system is made to manage value management, attendance and curriculum so that teachers, students and parents of students can access and work together in monitoring student learning activities quickly and easily. efficient. This study provides results to improve student learning activities that can be done wherever they are or do not have to be at school and to connect and establish cooperation between schools, teachers, and parents of students as an important component of education to the student learning process at school.

Conceptual Model of User Satisfaction as Mediator of E-Learning Services and System Quality on Students’ Individual Performance

This study aims to collect the required information to construct a conceptual model to measure e-learning information system success in higher education setting. The methodology used in this study is literature study which was done by comparing six articles from international journals across the globe. Other articles as well as books were also used to support the findings in this study. Further in-depth study and comparisons was made to find suitable variables to evaluate e-learning system success. The conclusion of this study is a conceptual model which implements user satisfaction as mediating variable of the relationship of elearning service quality and system quality on students' individual performance as a measure of e-learning system success. Furthermore, this conceptual model can be an essential reference to be implemented in further related research.

Designing an Efficient Cloud Management Architecture for Sustainable Online Lifelong Education

As online learning and e-learning are prevalent and widely used in education, it is important to design an efficient and reliable information system for storing learning data and providing on-demand learning services. In this paper, we design a cloud-based information system architecture for online lifelong education. Since a cloud system is based on virtualization technology, we propose a virtual resource management scheme—virtual machine allocation and monitoring nodes assignment. With the proposed cloud-based architecture, we can build and operate an e-learning information system for online lifelong education, which requires efficiency, reliability, and persistence. The evaluation results show that our proposed method can deal with more tasks for e-learning (requests for learning management system (LMS) navigations, text learning contents, text and media learning contents, and video learning contents) while introducing 48× fewer service level agreement (SLA) violations than the existing method.

In this research to make the improvement of convenience that would later give also the satisfaction of any user that has used and be active in e-learning information systems which have been applied in engineering Electronics ft unp. This research using the method of end user computing satisfaction that in short EUCS are used to measure the level of user satisfaction with knowing the contribution factors of content, accuracy, shape, ease of usage and timeliness to be thorough by the author to apply to the scope of the Department of electronics engineering ft unp. This research using quantitative research, then conducted a descriptive analysis, inductive analysis, multiple regression and hypothesis testing. The results of the analysis of the data indicates that the variable in the method of EUCS jointly contribute the same significance of 45% to the satisfaction of users of the e-learning information systems in the Department of electronics engineering achievements in the unp ft. from research that has been done, is expected to be contributed to the Administration's e-learnngi in order to improve the quality of e-learning on the campus of the State University of padang in General and in the Electrical Engineering Universitas Negeri Padang in particular. E-Learning Information System Model at SMK Raksana Medan

E-Learning can be viewed as a system that enables teachers as a provider of learning materials as well as learning managers and students as learning participants can learn and interact directly by using an electronic media such as computers and telecommunications equipment connected to the Internet network. SMK Raksana Medan is one of the vocational schools which in addition to focus on providing science and expertise to the students also focus on the formation of student character and personality reflected in the culture of SMK Raksana namely HOPE (Honor Our Parents Everyday). The absence of E-Learning information system makes it difficult for students to ask or discuss between them. The existence of this E-Learning information system can certainly improve the quality of teaching and learning process. The research method used in this research is SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) method which is a very good design methodology because it identifies well the needs of the user. E-Learning Information System designed to enable learning is done synchronously (direct interaction) and asynchronous (interaction indirectly). The information system will be designed using PHP Programming Language and MySQL database. The results of the study are expected to answer the needs of students and teachers of a system that can enable students and teachers to do the learning process after the learning process at school ends.

DEVELOPMENT OF SOFTWARE OF E-LEARNING INFORMATION SYSTEM SYNTHESIS MODELING PROCESS

The article reflects the results of the study of the created model of the information structure of the system of support. The model allowed to carry out the process of modeling the synthesis of the information system e-learning. A program with a graphical user interface for the synthesis model of the e-learning information system was used for modeling. The program uses the parameters of the hyperconvergent base network and the e-learning system as the input. The result of the synthesis is the optimal placement of users, applications and data blocks by the nodes of the base network. This takes into account the capacity of the system's transactions. This optimizes the capacity of nodes. As a result, the effiency support of the e-learning system is increasing. The structure of the hyperconvergent base network e-learning support network is considered as the main factor that affects the quality of the system's requests. Therefore, it is important to analyze the structure when choosing options for building a hyperconvergent base network and its management. The main purpose of the structure analysis is to determine the parameters of the data streams in the network communication channels. The obtained results are necessary for an adequate estimation of network channels and nodes capacity. Data streams form e-learning tasks, which use applications that launch on network nodes and generate network traffic.

ANALISIS PENERIMAAN IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM INFORMASI E-LEARNING UNIVERSITAS NEGERI PADANG MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE MODEL

The increasing information needs resulting the need of the information development systems also increased. The presence of a system development will help an agency to facilitate the management of your data and present a quality information. Any education world did not escape from its touch. The integration of information technology into the world of education has created a major influence. One of the products of integration of information technology into the world of education is e-learning. State University of Padang (UNP) has started to implement e-learning lesson in the process. Through the services of the technical services unit (PUSKOM) of the UNP, the development of e-learning that has started from the end of the year 2013 which in its utility is integrated with academic information systems and academic portal that is already running. It is becoming the cornerstone for the research which is related to the condition of existing system now. Whether e-learning really has accepted its existence by the student as a user. This study aims to reveal the influence of the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) against the acceptance of the application of UNP e-learning information system. Techniques of sampling was done randomly and sharing as well as proportional (Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling). Data of the number of students as the user is obtained from PUSKOM. The data framework of TAM who is deciding factors in the acceptance of the application of E-learning, such as the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness of, attitude toward using, and actual use, which becomes a variable in this study were collected through the questionnaire by using the Likert scale in the calculation that has tested the validity and reliability. Then the data were analyzed using statistical methods to analyze its effects. The results of the analysis of the data indicates that the variables research jointly has the influence on the acceptance of the E-learning application.Keywords : Information system, E-learning, Technology Acceptance Model, TAM

Arguments about online delivery of career development are too frequently couched in polarising terms setting traditional face-to-face guidance practice against online systems. The focus has been on the alleged dehumanising impact of technology and the speed, economy and efficiency of online systems. The possible synergies delivered by the appropriate integration of online systems into career development need exploring. The potential of eguidance, elearning, social media and online information and assessment systems has been insufficiently explored. The user experience has been overlooked, despite evidence that user-interface issues and usability are critical factors in the effectiveness of online systems. The application of artificial intelligence remains largely under-researched in career development. The potential for online systems to assist individuals respond to their chaotic careers has yet to be adequately addressed.

Engaging IT undergraduates in non-IT content

Purpose – This paper aims to report on the efforts made to enhance the engagement of IT students with non-IT-specific content. The mechanism to foster this engagement was the introduction of an eLearning information system (ELIS) for a finance-related subject within an IT undergraduate degree at the university. The subject developers were primarily concerned with both the learning design and the engagement of the student to enable the effective incorporation of an ELIS into the classroom. Design/methodology/approach – This interpretive research used a comparative case study as the aim was to gain an in-depth understanding of a particular situation. The research approach also allows an open-minded interpretation of the collected data as the researcher is interested in looking for the “Why and not the How”. Data were collected via an online university student feedback survey. Findings – Four key themes emerged from the data as follows: IT students learning non-IT-related content was a major driving force behind the changes to the course; staff change brought fresh eyes to the subject content and enabled improvements to occur; introducing the ELIS assisted the teaching staff to reduce preparation time while also helping students learn at the own pace; and collaborative group work helped facilitated student insights into real life work scenarios. The findings show that each of the key themes identified played a role in improving student engagement and satisfaction with the non-IT subject matter. Originality/value – The value of this paper is from its practical perspective. Engaging IT students in non-IT subject matter is a challenging proposition for which there is no simple solution. This paper shows that over a five-semester period and through a phased implementation of major changes, student satisfaction and engagement with non-IT subject matter has improved steadily. This paper is of interest, and hence value, to academics who encounter problems or issues of engaging students in non-domain-related subject matter.
