Discovery of the First Potent DYRK2 Proteolysis Targeting Chimera Degraders.

Dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) has been identified as a promising oncogenic driver of several types of cancer and is considered to be a critical cancer therapeutic target. Several inhibitors of DYRK2 have been reported, but no degraders have been found yet. In this work, we designed and synthesized the first series of proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) using curcumin and its analogs as warheads to target and degrade DYRK2. The results of degradation assays showed that the compound CP134 could effectively downregulate the intracellular DYRK2 level (DC50 = 1.607 μM). Further mechanism of action experiments revealed that CP134 induced DYRK2 degradation through the ubiquitin-proteasome system. Altogether, CP134 disclosed in this study is the first potent DYRK2 degrader, which could serve as a valuable chemical tool for further evaluation of its therapeutic potential, and our results broaden the substrate spectrum of PROTAC-based degraders for further therapeutic applications.

Physicochemical properties and biological efficacy of 30 DYRK2 Inhibitors for the treatment of prostate cancer

AbstractProstate cancer is the most common cancer among men which has major diagnosis in the United States in 2017. Among DYRK class II members, dual specificity tyrosine phosphorylation‐regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) is the functional target for prostate cancer treatment. Studies show that subfamilies of DYRKs are also capable to phosphorylate (tyrosine, serine, and threonine) residues, yet little research has been carried out for its inhibitors. In this article, conceptual density theory is used to estimate the physicochemical properties of 30 experimentally synthesized inhibitors targeting DYRK2. The HOMO–LUMO gap showed low reactivity and high chemical activity for the inhibitors. The biological efficacy of these 30 inhibitors is predicted by bioavailability, mutagenicity, and cardiotoxicity measures. The inhibitors showed low toxicity and no blood brain barrier permeability. Results indicated that the physiological actions of these inhibitors involve multiple target interactions. Since the experimental results of the DYRK2 protein showed great water solubility, favorable safety properties, and potential anti‐prostate cancer activities for ligand 24, docking and molecular dynamics simulations from the Galaxy webserver using Gromacs open‐source tools are also performed for (DYRK2‐24) complex (PDB: 7EJV). (DYRK2‐24) showed strong binding affinity and noncovalent interactions.

Discovery of Potent, Selective, and Orally Bioavailable DYRK2 Inhibitors for the Treatment of Prostate Cancer.

Prostate cancer (PCa) seriously threatens male health, and targeting dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) has been verified to reduce PCa burden, while the research progress on the DYRK2 inhibitors was relatively slow. In this work, we discovered DYRK2 inhibitor 12 (IC50 = 9681 nM) through virtual screening. Subsequently, we performed systematic structural optimization to obtain 54 (IC50 = 14 nM). Compound 54 exhibited high selectivity among 215 kinases and significantly suppressed the proliferation and metastasis of PCa cells in vitro. Moreover, compound 54 displayed high safety, favorable bioavailability, and potent tumor growth inhibitory activity in vivo, which could be used as a potential candidate in the discovery of novel anti-PCa drugs.

Anti-Proliferative Potential of Cynaroside and Orientin—In Silico (DYRK2) and In Vitro (U87 and Caco-2) Studies

Luteolin derivates are plant compounds with multiple benefits for human health. Stability to heat and acid hydrolysis and high resistance to (auto)oxidation are other arguments for the laden interest in luteolin derivates today. The present study was designed to compare the in silico and in vitro anti-proliferative potential of two luteolin derivates, luteolin-7-O-glucoside/cynaroside (7-Lut) and luteolin-8-C-glucoside/orientin (8-Lut). In silico investigations were carried out on the molecular target, namely, the human dual specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) in association with its natural ligand, curcumin (PDB ID: 5ZTN), by CLC Drug Discovery Workbench v. 1.5.1. software and Molegro Virtual Docker (MVD) v. MVD 2019.7.0. software. In vitro studies were performed on two human tumor cell lines, glioblastoma (U87) and colon carcinoma (Caco-2), respectively. Altogether, docking studies have revealed 7-Lut and 8-Lut as effective inhibitors of DYRK2, even stronger than the native ligand curcumin; in vitro studies indicated the ability of both luteolin glucosides to inhibit the viability of both human tumor cell lines, up to 85% at 50 and 100 µg/mL, respectively; the most augmented cytotoxic and anti-proliferative effects were obtained for U87 exposed to 7-Lut (IC50 = 26.34 µg/mL). The results support further studies on cynaroside and orientin to create drug formulas targeting glioblastoma and colon carcinoma in humans.

Functional Roles of DYRK2 as a Tumor Regulator.

The dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) regulates the induction of apoptosis and DNA repair, metastasis inhibition, cell cycle G1/S transition, protein scaffold stability for E3 ligase complexes, and embryogenesis. Owing to these functions, DYRK2 is thought to regulate tumorigenesis, and its function in cancer has been investigated. Notably, DYRK2 has been reported to function as a tumor suppressor; however, it has also been reported to act as an oncogene in some cancers. This discrepancy makes it difficult to elucidate the conserved functions of DYRK2 in cancer. Here, we reviewed the functions of DYRK2 in various cancers. Patient tissue samples were evaluated for each cancer type. Although some studies have used cell lines and/or xenografts to elucidate the mechanism of DYRK2 function, these studies are not sufficient to understand the role of DYRK2 in cancers. In particular, studies using genetically modified mice would help us to understand the reported functional duality of DYRK2 in cancer.

Potential Benefits of Dietary Plant Compounds on Normal and Tumor Brain Cells in Humans: In Silico and In Vitro Approaches.

Neuroblastoma can be accessed with compounds of larger sizes and wider polarities, which do not usually cross the blood-brain barrier. Clinical data indicate cases of spontaneous regression of neuroblastoma, suggesting a reversible point in the course of cell brain tumorigenesis. Dual specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase2 (DYRK2) is a major molecular target in tumorigenesis, while curcumin was revealed to be a strong inhibitor of DYRK2 (PBD ID: 5ZTN). Methods: in silico studies by CLC Drug Discovery Workbench (CLC) and Molegro Virtual Docker (MVD) Software on 20 vegetal compounds from the human diet tested on 5ZTN against the native ligand curcumin, in comparison with anemonin. In vitro studies were conducted on two ethanolic extracts from Anemone nemorosa tested on normal and tumor human brain cell lines NHA and U87, compared with four phenolic acids (caffeic, ferulic, gentisic, and para-aminobenzoic/PABA). Conclusions: in silico studies revealed five dietary compounds (verbascoside, lariciresinol, pinoresinol, medioresinol, matairesinol) acting as stronger inhibitors of 5ZTN compared to the native ligand curcumin. In vitro studies indicated that caffeic acid has certain anti-proliferative effects on U87 and small benefits on NHA viability. A. nemorosa extracts indicated potential benefits on NHA viability, and likely dangerous effects on U87.

Discovery of Potent DYRK2 Inhibitors with High Selectivity, Great Solubility, and Excellent Safety Properties for the Treatment of Prostate Cancer.

Prostate cancer (PCa) is a common male cancer with high incidence and mortality, and hormonal therapy as the major treatment for PCa patients is troubled by the inevitable resistance that makes us identify novel targets for PCa. Dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) was found to be an effective target for the treatment of PCa, but the research on its inhibitors is rather little. In this work, a potent DYRK2 inhibitor 43 (IC50 = 0.6 nM) was acquired through virtual screening and structural optimization, which displayed high selectivity among 205 kinases; meanwhile, detailed interactions of 43 with DYRK2 were illustrated by the cocrystal. Furthermore, 43 possessed great water solubility (29.5 mg/mL), favorable safety properties (LD50 > 10,000 mg/kg), and potent anti-PCa activities, which could be used as a potential candidate in further preclinical studies.

Dual inhibition of HSF1 and DYRK2 impedes cancer progression.

Preserving proteostasis is a major survival mechanism for cancer. Dual specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) is a key oncogenic kinase that directly activates the transcription factor heat-shock factor 1 (HSF1) and the 26S proteasome. Targeting DYRK2 has proven to be a tractable strategy to target cancers sensitive to proteotoxic stress; however, the development of HSF1 inhibitors remains in its infancy. Importantly, multiple other kinases have been shown to redundantly activate HSF1 that promoted ideas to directly target HSF1. The eventual development of direct HSF1 inhibitor KRIBB11 suggests that the transcription factor is indeed a druggable target. The current study establishes that concurrent targeting of HSF1 and DYRK2 can indeed impede cancer by inducing apoptosis faster than individual targetting. Furthermore, targeting the DYRK2-HSF1 axis induces death in proteasome inhibitor-resistant cells and reduces triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) burden in ectopic and orthotopic xenograft models. Together the data indicate that cotargeting of kinase DYRK2 and its substrate HSF1 could prove to be a beneficial strategy in perturbing neoplastic malignancies.

Progression of Type 1 Diabetes: Circulating MicroRNA Expression Profiles Changes from Preclinical to Overt Disease.

Objectives To evaluate the potential biological involvement of miRNA expression in the immune response and beta cell function in T1D. MethodsWe screened 377 serum miRNAs of 110 subjects divided into four groups: healthy individuals (control group) and patients at different stages of T1D progression, from the initial immunological manifestation presenting islet autoantibodies (AbP group) until partial and strong beta cell damage in the recent (recent T1D group) and long-term T1D, with 2 to 5 years of disease (T1D 2-5y group).Results The results revealed 69 differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMs) in relation to controls. Several miRNAs were correlated with islet autoantibodies (IA2A, GADA, and Znt8A), age, and C-peptide levels, mainly from AbP, and recent T1D groups pointing these miRNAs as relevant to T1D pathogenesis and progression. Several miRNAs were related to metabolic derangements, inflammatory pathways, and several other autoimmune diseases. Pathway analysis of putative DEM targets revealed an enrichment in pathways related to metabolic syndrome, inflammatory response, apoptosis and insulin signaling pathways, metabolic derangements, and decreased immunomodulation. One of the miRNAs' gene targets was DYRK2 (dual-specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2), which is an autoantigen targeted by an antibody in T1D. ROC curve analysis showed hsa-miR-16 and hsa-miR-200a-3p with AUCs greater than for glucose levels, with discriminating power for T1D prediction greater than glucose levels. Conclusions/Interpretation. Our data suggests a potential influence of DEMs on disease progression from the initial autoimmune lesion up to severe beta cell dysfunction and the role of miRNAs hsa-miR-16 and hsa-miR-200a-3p as biomarkers of T1D progression.

Targeting dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 with a highly selective inhibitor for the treatment of prostate cancer

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most prevalent cancers in men worldwide, and hormonal therapy plays a key role in the treatment of PCa. However, the drug resistance of hormonal therapy makes it urgent and necessary to identify novel targets for PCa treatment. Herein, dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) is found and confirmed to be highly expressed in the PCa tissues and cells, and knock-down of DYRK2 remarkably reduces PCa burden in vitro and in vivo. On the base of DYRK2 acting as a promising target, we further discover a highly selective DYRK2 inhibitor YK-2-69, which specifically interacts with Lys-231 and Lys-234 in the co-crystal structure. Especially, YK-2-69 exhibits more potent anti-PCa efficacy than the first-line drug enzalutamide in vivo. Meanwhile, YK-2-69 displays favorable safety properties with a maximal tolerable dose of more than 10,000 mg/kg and pharmacokinetic profiles with 56% bioavailability. In summary, we identify DYRK2 as a potential drug target and verify its critical roles in PCa. Meanwhile, we discover a highly selective DYRK2 inhibitor with favorable druggability for the treatment of PCa.

Kinase DYRK2 acts as a regulator of autophagy and an indicator of favorable prognosis in gastric carcinoma

Gastric cancer (GC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide; therefore, new and more specific molecules for GC are needed. Here, we found that dual specificity tyrosine phosphorylation regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) may be a specific marker for GC. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and statistical and bioinformatics analyses were conducted to detect DYRK2 expression in stomach tissues. The role of DYRK2 in GC was analyzed with a nude mouse model and CCK-8, wound healing and Transwell assays. Western blotting and immunofluorescence experiments were also performed to elucidate the relationship between DYRK2 expression and both epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and autophagy progression. We found that DYRK2 expression in GC tissues was lower than that in benign or normal tissues, and patients with high DYRK2 expression had a good prognosis. The in vitro results showed that DYRK2 expression inhibited the tumorigenic activities of GC, including proliferation, migration, and invasion. By analyzing the expression of EMT markers after altering DYRK2 expression, we observed that DYRK2 inhibits the occurrence of EMT. The nude mouse model revealed that DYRK2 inhibits tumor growth. Finally, we used Western blotting and immunofluorescence assays and found that DYRK2 promotes autophagy. Based on these data, DYRK2 may be a good reference indicator for the clinical diagnosis of GC.

Determination of genetic variation within the <i>DYRK2</i> gene and its associations with milk traits in cattle

To speed up the progress of marker-assisted selection (MAS) in cattle breeding, the dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2), cadherin 2 (CDH2), and kinesin family member 1A (KIF1A) genes were chosen based on our pervious genome-wide association study (GWAS) analysis results. DYRK2 is a kinase that may participate in cell growth and/or development; it shows phosphorylation activity toward serine, threonine, and tyrosine fragments of proteins, and it is different from other protein kinases. The CDH2 gene encodes a classic cadherin, which is a member of the cadherin superfamily. The protein encoded by KIF1A is a member of the kinesin family and plays a role in the transportation of membrane organelles along axon microtubules. We detected insertion/deletion (InDel) variation in these three candidate genes in 438 individual cattle (Xinjiang Brown cattle and Wagyu Luxi crossbreed cattle). Only DYRK2-P3-11 bp was polymorphic and genotyped. The polymorphism information content of DYRK2-P3-11 bp was 0.336. Correlation analyses showed that InDel polymorphism was significantly associated with six different milk traits. These findings may aid future analyses of InDel genotypes in cattle breeds, and speed up the progress of MAS in cattle breeding.

Impairment of DYRK2 by DNMT1‑mediated transcription augments carcinogenesis in human colorectal cancer.

Dual specificity tyrosine‑phosphorylation‑regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) is a protein kinase that functions as a novel tumor suppressor. Previous studies have reported that DYRK2 expression is decreased in colorectal cancer compared with adjacent non‑tumor tissues. However, the regulatory mechanisms by which the expression of DYRK2 is diminished remain unknown. The aim of the present study was to determine the regulatory mechanisms of DYRK2 expression. The present study identified the promoter regions of the DYRK2 gene and demonstrated that they contained CpG islands in human cancer cells. In addition, the DYRK2 promoter region exhibited a higher level of methylation in colorectal cancer tissues compared with healthy tissues from clinical samples. DYRK2 expression was increased at the mRNA and protein level in colorectal cancer cell lines by treatment with 5‑Azacytidine, a demethylating agent. The results further demonstrated that knockdown of DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) 1 elevated DYRK2 expression in colorectal cancer cell lines. A colitis‑related mouse carcinogenesis model also exhibited a lower DYRK2 level in colorectal cancer tissues compared with adjacent non‑tumor tissues. In this model, nuclear staining of DNMT1 was detected in colorectal cancer cells, whereas a cytoplastic distribution pattern of DNMT1 staining was exhibited in healthy tissue. Overall, these findings suggested that DYRK2 expression was downregulated via transcriptional regulation by DNMT1 to elevate the proliferation of colorectal cancer cells.

Interaction between RNF8 and DYRK2 is required for the recruitment of DNA repair molecules to DNA double-strand breaks.

The genome of eukaryotic cells is frequently exposed to damage by various genotoxins. Phosphorylation of histone H2AX at Serine 139 (γ-H2AX) is a hallmark of DNA damage. RNF8 monoubiquitinates γ-H2AX with the Lys63-linked ubiquitin chain to tether DNA repair molecules at DNA lesions. A high-throughput screening identified RNF8 as a binding partner of dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2). Notably, DNA damage-induced monoubiquitination of γ-H2AX is impaired in DYRK2-depleted cells. The foci formation of p53-binding protein 1 at DNA double-strand break sites is suppressed in DYRK2 knockdown cells, which fail to repair the DNA damage. A homologous recombination assay showed decreased repair efficiency in DYRK2-depleted cells. Our findings indicate direct interaction of DYRK2 with RNF8 in regulating response to DNA damage.

Decrease of miR-622 expression suppresses migration and invasion by targeting regulation of DYRK2 in colorectal cancer cells.

BackgroundMore and more evidence indicates that microRNAs are present and involved in many tumor-related diseases. The function of microRNA-622 (miR-622) in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains controversial. Dual specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) has been reported as a tumor suppressor gene in different cancers. The detailed regulation mechanism of DYRK2 in CRC remains unclear.MethodsmiR-622 and DYRK2 expression levels were detected at tissue and cellular level respectively by using real time polymerase chain reaction (PCR), Western blot, and immunohistochemical staining. Pearson’s correlation analysis was used to evaluate the correlation between miR-622 and DYRK2. Transwell assay was applied to measure the effect of miR-622 on migration and invasion of SW1116 and SW480. We used dual luciferase reporter assay to confirm the targeted binding effect of miR-622 and DYRK2 3′-untranslated region (3′UTR). An antisense experiment was executed to further confirm the role miR-622 had played with regard to migration and invasion by targeting regulation of DYRK2 pathway in CRC cells.ResultsIn our research, we found that the expression of miR-622 was elevated in CRC tissues and cell lines compared to that of nonCRC tissues and the normal human colon epithelial cell line NCM460. Correspondingly, the expression of DYRK2 in CRC tissues and cell lines showed a contrary tendency. The different expression level of DYRK2 was closely correlated with clinicopathological characteristics of CRC patients. We demonstrated that down-regulation of miR-622 could inhibit the ability of migration and invasion of CRC cell lines SW1116 and SW480. Also, we confirmed that DYRK2 was negatively regulated by miR-622 via a specific targeted binding site within the 3′UTR. We finally verified that the migration and invasion ability of CRC cells in the conducted DYRK2 3′UTR defect plasmid transfection group were lower compared to miR-622 and cotransfection group.ConclusionThe findings of this study indicate that a decrease of miR-622 expression could suppress migration and invasion by targeting regulation of DYRK2 and miR-622/DYRK2 could be a potential molecular treating target of CRC.

DYRK2 displays muscle fiber type specific function during zebrafish early somitogenesis.

Dual specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) is a serine/threonine kinase. In zebrafish, DYRK2 is expressed in the lateral somites and adaxial cells at the early stage of embryo development. However, its role in early myogenesis had not been elucidated yet. Here, we report that DYRK2 mRNA and MyoD mRNA were colocalized in the muscle progenitor cells in somites, including both the posterior compartment of the lateral somites and adaxial cells. Knockdown of DYRK2 reduced the levels of MyoD transcripts in the muscle progenitor cells in somites. In contrast, overexpression of DYRK2 increased the levels of MyoD transcripts in the muscle progenitor cells in somites. The effects of knockdown and overexpression of DYRK2 on the expression of MyoD in the posterior compartment of the lateral somites were much greater than in the adaxial cells. Further studies indicated that forced expression of DYRK2 increased the levels of fast-twitch skeletal myosin RNA. Moreover, knockdown or forced expression of DYRK2 affected the levels of fast-twitch skeletal myosin protein. Together, these data indicate that DYRK2 is expressed in the developing muscle progenitor cells in somites and that it positively regulates fast-twitch muscle differentiation, at least at the early stages.

Diminished DYRK2 sensitizes hormone receptor-positive breast cancer to everolimus by the escape from degrading mTOR

Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitor, everolimus, provides benefit for metastatic hormone receptor positive breast cancer after failure of the endocrine therapy. The present report highlights Dual Specificity Tyrosine Phosphorylation Regulated Kinase 2 (DYRK2) as a predictive marker for everolimus sensitivity. The key node and KEGG pathway analyses revealed that mTORC1 pathway is activated in DYRK2-depleted cells. Everolimus was more effective in DYRK2-depleted cells compared with control cells. In xenograft model, everolimus treatment significantly inhibited tumor growth compared with vehicle or eribulin treatment. In clinical analysis, patients with low DYRK2 expression acquired longer treatment period and had higher clinical benefit rate than those with high DYRK2 expression (171 vs 82 days; P < 0.05 and 50% vs 12.5%, respectively). We further investigated the underlying mechanism by which DYRK2 regulates mTORC1 pathway. The ectopic expression of DYRK2 promoted phosphorylation of Thr631 for the ubiquitination and degradation of mTOR. DYRK2 expression levels may thus predict clinical responses to everolimus.

Low Expression of DYRK2 (Dual Specificity Tyrosine Phosphorylation Regulated Kinase 2) Correlates with Poor Prognosis in Colorectal Cancer.

Dual-specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) is a member of dual-specificity kinase family, which could phosphorylate both Ser/Thr and Tyr substrates. The role of DYRK2 in human cancer remains controversial. For example, overexpression of DYRK2 predicts a better survival in human non-small cell lung cancer. In contrast, amplification of DYRK2 gene occurs in esophageal/lung adenocarcinoma, implying the role of DYRK2 as a potential oncogene. However, its clinical role in colorectal cancer (CRC) has not been explored. In this study, we analyzed the expression of DYRK2 from Oncomine database and found that DYRK2 level is lower in primary or metastatic CRC compared to adjacent normal colon tissue or non-metastatic CRC, respectively, in 6 colorectal carcinoma data sets. The correlation between DYRK2 expression and clinical outcome in 181 CRC patients was also investigated by real-time PCR and IHC. DYRK2 expression was significantly down-regulated in colorectal cancer tissues compared with adjacent non-tumorous tissues. Functional studies confirmed that DYRK2 inhibited cell invasion and migration in both HCT116 and SW480 cells and functioned as a tumor suppressor in CRC cells. Furthermore, the lower DYRK2 levels were correlated with tumor sites (P = 0.023), advanced clinical stages (P = 0.006) and shorter survival in the advanced clinical stages. Univariate and multivariate analyses indicated that DYRK2 expression was an independent prognostic factor (P < 0.001). Taking all, we concluded that DYRK2 a novel prognostic biomarker of human colorectal cancer.

Dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) as a novel marker in T1 high-grade and T2 bladder cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy

BackgroundTo investigate associations between dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2) expression and survival in T1 high-grade or T2 bladder cancer patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy.MethodsThe cohort under investigation comprised 44 patients who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy for pT1 high-grade or pT2N0M0 bladder cancer at our institution between 2002 and 2011. Immunohistochemical analysis was used to determine expression of DYRK2 in bladder cancer specimens obtained by transurethral resection before chemotherapy. Relationships between DYRK2 expression and both response to chemotherapy and survival in these patients were analyzed.ResultsDYRK2 expression was positive in 21 of 44 patients (47.7 %) and negative in 23 patients (52.3 %). In total, 20 of 21 DYRK2-positive cases showed complete response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, whereas 11 of 23 DYRK2-negative cases did not show complete response. Sensitivity and specificity were 62.5 % and 91.7 %, respectively (P = 0.0018). In addition, disease-specific survival rate was significantly higher for DYRK2-positive patients than for DYRK2-negative patients (P = 0.017). In multivariate analysis, DYRK2 expression level was identified as an independent prognostic factor for disease-specific survival (P = 0.029). We also showed that DYRK2 mRNA expression was significantly higher in DYRK2-positive samples by immunohistochemistry than DYRK2-negative samples (P = 0.040).ConclusionsDYRK2 expression level may predict the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for T1 high-grade and T2 bladder cancer.
