Synthesis, Crystal Structure of the Receptor Derived from Diethoxycarbonyl Glycoluril for Aromatic Amide Guest

AbstractThe receptor derived from the diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril was synthesized and characterized by IR, 1H NMR, MS techniques and X‐ray single crystal analysis. Single crystal X‐ray diffraction reveals that the receptor remains monomeric because of its bulky t‐Bu groups on the side walls. Its unique binding properties for aromatic amides were studied through 1H NMR and IR techniques.

New fluorescent probes based on supramolecular diastereomers for the detection of 2-nitrophenol

A couple of new fluorescent probes, based on diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril, were synthesized and characterized by (1)H NMR, X-ray crystal structure. The probes were found to be relatively highly fluorescence with quantum yields of 0.20 and 0.18, respectively, at room temperature in THF solution. Both of the proposed probes were tested using different phenolic compounds, showing very high selectivity and sensitivity for 2-nitrophenol by forming a 1:1 complex in THF-MeOH (9:1, v/v). Additionally, the sensors could be used for the qualitative analysis of 2-nitrophenol in real water samples.

Synthesis, crystal structure, binding properies of a noncyclic crown-type receptor derived from diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril

A novel noncyclic crown-type diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril derivative receptor was synthesised and its crystal structure was obtained. The study of its binding behaviour towards neutral guests showed that it can bind hydroquinone, resorcinol and catechol.

Synthesis and Recognition Properties of Two Novel Concave Molecules Based on Glycoluril

Two new concave fluorescent molecular clips based on diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril and diphenyl acetylene units have been synthesised by introducing the fluorophores into the receptor. Their recognition properties toward various metal ions were studied by fluorescence spectroscopy. The results demonstrate that they can selectively bind Fe3+ with fluorescence quenching.

Synthesis of Novel Molecular Clips via Click Chemistry Based on Diethoxy carbonyl Glycoluril

A novel class of molecular clips based on diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril was synthesized via click chemistry. Seven different arylacetylenes were used in this research, and all reaction products gave satisfying ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR, HRMS, and IR spectra. The structure and conformation of 7a were further confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. A primary study on the metal-ion binding ability of 7f showed that its fluorescence was obviously quenched by Fe³+, Ag+, and Cu²+ among metal ions examined.

Synthesis and Spectral Properties of Novel Fluorescent Diethoxycarbonyl Glycoluril Derivatives

A novel class of fluorescent diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril derivatives with aryl alkyne side chains was synthesized via alkylation and subsequent Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions. The ­fluorescence spectra showed that these compounds exhibited good blue fluorescence with the maximum wavelengths ranging from 368 nm to 403 nm.

X-Ray structures and binding properties of molecular clips based on diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril

The crystal structures of two molecular clips derived from diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril were reported. Their unique binding behavior towards hydroquinone, which is different from Nolte's clips (high affinity for resorcinol), has been characterized through 1H NMR and IR. Job-plot analyses provide good evidence of a 1:1 stoichiometry for the complexes.Key words: crystal structure, molecular clips, binding properties

A pair of novel fluorescent molecular clips was synthesized from diethoxycarbonal glycoluril cyclic ether and 1,2-dihydro-indazol-3-one. Their structures and conformations were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction and chemosensory properties were studied by fluorescent spectroscope. Both of them exhibited selective recognition toward Fe 3+ over other metal ions examined in DMF/CH 3OH (50:1, v/v).

Toposelective synthesis under thermodynamic control and bioactivities of topoisomers based on diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril derivatives

Six topoisomers consisting of diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril have been successfully synthesized in one-pot by using a “figure-of-seven” building block through anti-connectivity and syn-connectivity reactions, respectively. The structures of all six topoisomers were first determined by X-ray crystallography. The finding that (±) CT isomers are the dominant products under thermodynamic control can be explained by the calculated relative energies of the six topoisomers. That the (±) CT isomers have the lowest energy is most likely due to the additional intramolecular electrostatic interactions between-NO2 and-OMe groups. The biological activities of the topoisomers were primitively investigated and the results of bioassay showed that the six topoisomers possessed obvious difference of herbicidal activity.

A novel class of molecular clips was synthesized, which are soluble in most non-polar organic solvents. Aromatic amines and diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril were used for the first time in this type of reaction. All reaction products gave satisfying 1 H NMR, 1 3 C NMR, MS, and IR spectra. In addition, the structure and conformation of 4d were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction.
