The post-war syndrome is such a deeply expressed socio-psychological phenomenon that in a certain way affects the formation and development of social relations. Nowadays we are still dealing with numerous post-war phenomena, in particular, in the working field of psychologists we see a difficult problem of restoring the adequacy of the system of man-activity, man – society. Society today is divided into several layers, in particular, participants in military operations, family members, parents who have lost sons, who have different expectations from each day and their lives, in particular, the revision of existential emptiness, their own system of semantic values, as well as the comprehension of existing post-traumatic experiences. It is the presence of these phenomena that determines the relevance of this work. The article presented forms of countering a stressful situation, ways of experiencing grief, possible consequences of traumatic situations, etc. in order to emphasize the socio-psychological problems that have not yet been overcome. Based on the above, a method of questioning the criteria of the process of grief was carried out, the main, generalized results of which, in particular, we presented in this article various manifestations in the behavior of bereaved sons and widows who experienced grief.
