The primary objective was to understand how management accounting practices have adapted to technological advancements, economic changes, and regulatory developments. Utilizing a systematic literature review process, the study involved identifying relevant literature through databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, employing keywords related to management accounting evolution. The selection of sources was based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, emphasizing relevance, quality, and methodological rigor. Content and thematic analysis was used to interpret findings from the qualitative data. Key findings revealed a significant evolution from traditional cost accounting methods to strategic, data-driven approaches, influenced by technological advancements and changing business environments. The study identified a shift towards integrated, predictive, and data-driven management accounting practices, with a growing focus on sustainability and digitalization. The impact of technological, economic, and regulatory factors was found to be profound, necessitating continuous adaptation in management accounting practices. The study concludes that management accounting in the U.S. is highly dynamic, responding effectively to technological and economic changes. Recommendations for future research and practice include embracing technological advancements, adapting to economic and regulatory changes, focusing on sustainability, enhancing education and training, and encouraging collaborative research. This study underscores the necessity for ongoing adaptation and innovation in management accounting to maintain relevance in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Rapid technological advances have brought challenges and opportunities along with the development of management accounting in corporate transformation. To maximize the contribution of management accounting, companies need to utilize technology. This article, based on a literature study from various sources, concludes that digitalization has changed the accounting management landscape through process automation, increased data accessibility, system integration, more sophisticated data analysis, solid data security, and the need for the development of skills and roles in the accounting profession . In the era of digitalization, the role of accountants is also changing, requiring the development of skills in information technology. Management accounting in the digital era is experiencing a significant transformation, influenced by advances in information technology and developments in the digital world. The following are some of the main aspects that show how management accounting adapts to the digital era: Management Accounting Information Systems (SIAM), Cloud Computing, Big Data and Data Analysis, IoT (Internet of Things), Automation and Artificial Intelligence, E-commerce Era, Cyber ​​Security , Mobile Computing and Blockchain. With the adoption of this technology, management accounting in the digital era can provide faster, more accurate and relevant information, thereby enabling better decision making in a rapidly changing business environment.

The article examines the specifics of the role of strategic management accounting in the process of making effective management decisions at the enterprise in modern conditions. The mechanism of the use of the tools of strategic management accounting by enterprises to ensure the achievement of competitive advantages in the market, as well as to increase the productivity of the management system, is considered. The relationship between strategic management accounting and the process of management decision-making is studied, taking into account that an effective strategic accounting system can become a key factor for successful business development. The main aspects of strategic management accounting are studied, including the definition of strategic goals, the collection and analysis of information, the development of key performance indicators and the identification of strategic alternatives. The influence of modern information technologies on the development of strategic management accounting and the possibilities of their implementation in practice are considered. It was determined that the use of strategic management accounting can provide enterprises with a systematic improvement in the quality of management decisions, reduce risks and increase the efficiency of business processes. The importance of strategic management accounting for ensuring the successful functioning of modern enterprises has been proved, and recommendations for improving this process have been formed. The key aspects of the internal and external environment that affect strategic management accounting are considered, including such factors as changes in legislation, the competitive situation on the market, changes in consumer demands, new technological trends, as well as the mechanism of their influence on the decision-making process and accounting. It was determined that strategic management accounting is a relevant tool for business entities in modern conditions of uncertainty and dynamic changes in the business environment, as it enables enterprises to be flexible and respond to changes in a timely manner, while creating conditions for achieving defined strategic goals. The importance of implementing strategic management accounting in modern business as a key factor in making effective management decisions in order to ensure the sustainable development of enterprises in dynamic conditions of market competition and uncertainty is proven.

УПРАВЛЕНЧЕСКИЙ УЧЕТ И КОНТРОЛЬ: МАТЕРИАЛЬНЫЕ ЗАТРАТЫ НА ПРОИЗВОДСТВО ПРОМЫШЛЕННОЙ ПРОДУКЦИИ

This article discusses the main approaches of management accounting to determining production needs for material resources, provides a review of the main analytical indicators of the financial and economic activities of an enterprise in terms of material costs, and presents a vision of a plan-fact analysis of material costs for the manufacture of a product. Material costs are an integral part of the production cost of any industrial product. Carrying out their activities under the conditions of sanctions imposed by foreign countries regarding the import of raw materials, supplies and components into the territory of the Russian Federation, Russian enterprises have been continuously producing their products for more than a year, forced to pay special attention to material support, new channels and supply chains, selection of analogues and partial change in product design. The topic of management accounting and control of production security, the volume of material costs in the cost of production has become especially relevant. Management of purchases and warehouse balances in the light of current events is undergoing changes, which can definitely be considered an incentive for the development of both management accounting of material costs and management of production and the enterprise as a whole. The work makes generalized conclusions about the features of management and control of material costs for the production of industrial products, which have come to the fore recently.

Do Enterprise Risks Management, Green Intellectual Capital and Business Ethics Improve Sustainable Finance At Financial Institutions In Indonesia?

Purpose: This study aims to test and analyze the effect of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Green Intellectual Capital (GIC), and Business Ethics (BE) on Sustainable Finance (SF).
 
 Theoretical reference: The theory of legitimacy was first expressed or presented by (Dowling & Pfeffer, 1975). Tracing back to its roots, the term "legitimacy" comes from the Latin word "legitimus", which translates to "according to law" (Danovan, O, 2000).
 
 Method: This research uses a quantitative descriptive verification method. The data used in this study are secondary data in the form of financial reports, annual reports and sustainability reports on the idx website. The population in this study are financial services companies listed on the IDX for the 2018-2021 period. The model in this study uses multiple regression, because the independent variables in this study consist of several variables.
 
 Results and Conclusion: The results showed that ERM has a positive effect on sustainable finance, GIC has a positive effect on sustainable finance, and BE has a positive effect on sustainable finance. ERM, GIC, and BE can benefit companies in several ways, including improving financial performance, reducing costs, and improving reputation. The results of this study contribute to the development of management accounting and business ethics that sustainable finance is influenced by several important factors, namely ERM, GIC, and BE.
 
 Implications of research: Research shows that ERM can improve financial sustainability in financial institutions in Indonesia, the implication of which is the importance of awareness towards more holistic and integrated risk management within companies. This may mean financial institutions should focus on developing more effective ERM processes, which can help them identify and manage risk in a more efficient way. This research can be used to enrich the sustainable finance literature, especially regarding the development of its measurement. The index measurement uses a disclosure checklist measurement and uses dumies so that it allows the appearance of subjectivity. There is a need for direct verification of some sample companies.

Development of management accounting functions in the corporate governance system

Problematic issues of the development of theory of management accounting in context of improving corporate governance and increasing requirements from various stakeholders to its information support are increasingly becoming the object of research by domestic and foreign scientists. The purpose of this study is to identify the trends in the development of management accounting in the conditions of digitalization of the economy, and the transformation of business processes under the influence of changes in business environment as well as justification and substantiation of the new functions of management accounting in connection with the changing requirements of corporate governance and the need to improve its information support. To achieve this goal, the methods of synthesis and analysis, abstraction, deduction and induction, comparison and systematization were used, as well as a critical analysis of existing views on the essence of management accounting, its functions and possible development scenarios, taking into account transformations in accounting science and practice observed in the third decade of the XXI century. In the process of work the results of own researches conducted and received within the framework of the scientific school of the Financial University “Accounting-analytical and control processes of economic subjects of information society” and in the course of practical activity of the authors were used. Based on the analysis of literary sources, the requirements of national and international standards in the field of both accounting and financial reporting and in sustainable development, current accounting practices and corporate governance practices, new management accounting functions have been identified and justified, the implementation of which is aimed at the formation and presentation of better quality data and information as part of corporate reporting with predictive value. The results obtained can be used by economic entities in optimizing accounting and control processes and developing internal regulations on management accounting, as well as by accounting regulatory entities and professional organizations in developing recommendations in the field of management accounting for various economic entities.

A Comprehensive Literature Analysis on the Modern Perspective of Management Accounting, Focusing on its Origins and Evolutionary Trajectory

This paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of the literature to provide a thorough understanding of the origins and development of management accounting, which has experienced increased popularity, particularly in the past twenty years. This paper undertakes a critical examination of the extensive criticism around the perceived decline in the relevance of management accounting in effectively improving performance within the context of a contemporary, dynamic company environment. This paper aims to enhance understanding of the simultaneous utilization of both classic and contemporary management accounting procedures. The study conducted a comprehensive analysis of the prevailing degree of interest in the adoption of management accounting methods in both developed and emerging nations. The examination of relevant literature has yielded a critical analysis that indicates the origins of management accounting may be traced back to the industrial revolution that occurred in the 1900s. The study also indicated that management accounting is subject to ongoing development as organizations encounter novel challenges requiring resolution. Furthermore, it was found that management accounting approaches employed in the early 1900s remain relevant and useful in contemporary contexts. The school of thinking that argues for the diminished significance of management accounting has been refuted on the basis that classic management accounting practices employed in the 1900s continue to hold relevance in contemporary times. The study proposes the use of management accounting practices as they enhance the organization's competitive advantage and generate value.

Budget programmes as a tool for ensuring self-sufficiency of territorial communities and an object of accounting

The article analyses the state and sources of formation of local budgets of territorial communities of Ukraine. It is established that the development of territorial communities, despite their significant own potential, largely depends on transfers from the state budget.
 The main substantive characteristic of a self-sufficient community is defined and it is proposed to calculate indicators for assessing its status at two levels, which are formed by own revenues and transfers.
 The main instrument for creating an effective and efficient mechanism for the use of funds in a community is budget programmes. In order for budget programmes to fulfil their goals and objectives and achieve the expected results, it is important to classify them according to the features that characterise expenditures that address the needs of the community. The study allowed us to identify 10 classification characteristics of budget programmes, which are the key to the scientifically sound development of financial and management accounting in budgetary institutions.
 In the context of management accounting, budget programmes should be viewed as centres of responsibility for expenditures and their results. Under such conditions, the main provisions of the programme-targeted method of managing budget funds will be fully used.
 However, in order to introduce management accounting of budget programmes, it is necessary to create information screens to display business transactions on the formation of expenses at the expense of budgetary funds. Taking into account the specifics of the chart of accounts in the public sector, the author substantiates the possibility of keeping records of expenses in the context of budget programmes and the formation of their performance indicators on account 16 «Production» or on a new account with a free code 19 «Expenses for the implementation of budget programmes».

Its evolution has been marked by continuous innovation and adaptability to meet the ever-changing demands of the business landscape. To thrive in this dynamic environment, we recommend that management accountants be versatile team players, capable of addressing a wide range of options and challenges that organizations encounter.

Does Management Accounting Lose Relevance Again? Supply-Chain Perspective

The purpose of this paper is to explore how supply chain has pose new challenges for management accounting regarding costing and performance measurement issues and whether management accounting contend with these challenges. The development of management accounting and how it regained its relevance will be discussed in general. Then, the new challenges rose as a result of the introduction to the notion of supply-chain in the areas of costing and performance measurement will be clarified. Although current management accounting practices are perceived by many researchers as useful in the context of supply chain, the new challenges rose by supply chain have now propelled the management accounting researchers to realise a “condition for possibility” for revisiting the “relevance lost” thesis and its post-relevance-lost era in which a number of management accounting innovations have been introduced. The major contribution of this paper is that it paves the way for researchers to commence in re-testing the ideas embodied in management accounting and its relevancy to supply-chain context.

Discussion on the Integrated Development Path of Financial Accounting and Management Accounting

The gradual development of economy and rapid progress of science and technology have promoted human society to step forward into the era of digital economy, and then promoted the transformation of financial accounting function based on accounting and supervision to management accounting function based on value creation and value increment. A contemporary view of management accounting, its genesis and evolution: A literature review

The paper analytically examines literature to elucidate the origin and evolution of management accounting buoyed on by the surge in appetite on its use especially during the last two decades. The paper further critically examines the wide critics on the “loss of relevance” of management accounting in enhancing performance explicitly in a modern rapidly changing business environment. A further attempt is made by this paper to better apprehend the concomitant application of traditional and contemporary management accounting practices. It further analysed the current level of appetite on the use of management accounting practices in both developed and developing countries. A critical review of related literature revealed that the history of management accounting can be traced back to the industrial revolution of the 1900s. The study also revealed that management accounting continues to evolve as companies meet new problems that need to be solved and management accounting practices that were used in the early 1900s are still applicable even today. The “loss relevance of management accounting” school of thought was dismissed as traditional MAPs that were used in the 1900s are still applicable even today. The study recommends the use of management accounting as it improves competitive edge and creates value for the organisation.

The Extent to Which Textbooks Fulfill the Requirements of Digital Transformation in Accounting and Auditing

Purpose: The study aimed to determine how well textbooks meet the demands of accounting industries' transition to the digital age. To determine how well texts, meet the needs of auditing industries' growth to the digital age and to investigate the extent to which the books fulfill the requirements for digital transformation in accounting and auditing. Theoretical framework: The study's theoretical framework depended on an analysis of the past reviews done by researchers in their literature reviews. It was to show if the textbooks met the demands of a smooth transition of workers from the traditional to the digital age in the accounting and auditing fields. Many past reviews by researchers concluded that textbooks are among the top three resources used in both departments depending a lot on books. Methodology: The methodology used was content analysis, where 21 sources were reviewed. Literature research dates back to the 1960s, but critical articles were chosen from 2018 to the present, considering the advancement in technology and computers, which have impacted the world in numerous ways. Computers are fast, easy, and reliable, but textbooks are still the traditional source of information used in many curriculums across continents. The American Educational Research Association's journals (ERIC) database was used. References found online through Google Scholar and JSTOR searches and reference lists from the digitalization of accounting and auditing periodicals were also used. Findings: The findings from the 21 sources included all of the textbooks that had IT-related topics on accounting. The research suggested a slight emphasis on IT developments in management accounting, auditing fields, and financial accounting, which is consistent with our assumptions. Only 5 of the chosen textbooks in financial accounting addressed IT-related topics. The general coverage of IT advancements in the selected auditing textbook examples differs significantly from that of financial accounting and management accounting textbooks. In the past, it has been expected that most auditing textbooks will at least address computer-assisted audit techniques and technologies (CAAT). Research, practical and social implications: Considering the social implications and the practicality of the research, stakeholders and government agencies should push for policies that would ensure a proper transition to digitization for all its citizens to understand their work better. Originality/value: The novelty and worth were evaluated. Twenty-one books on financial accounting, managerial accounting, and auditing make up the sample. According to actual research, technology improvements and related topics are rarely covered in accounting degrees. Evidence from this study's analysis of the relevant literature indicates that accounting and auditing schools' textbooks ought to devote more time to IT-related issues

Business intelligence impact on management accounting development given the role of mediation decision type and environment

Business Intelligence (BI) seeks to increase the profitability of the organization by making intelligent and accurate decisions. Management accounting (MA) reports are the score-card of an operation manager's efficiency. The operational; tactical, and strategic decision types make the road to achieving the goals of a company. Further, Environmental factors may affect the supply chain or increase the costs of materials. This study aims to investigate the impact of the BI on the development of MA in industrial companies. Samples are 200 Managers of these companies. The researcher-made questionnaire was employed to collect the required data. Factor analysis by reliability and item content technique verified by 0.896 Cronbach's alpha. Results revealed that the impact of BI on the development of MA is meaningful. For the β-values, the highest and the lowest effect of variables on success of BI is for decision type and flexibility variables, respectively. However, For the t-values, it is for data quality and integration with other systems (IOS) variables, respectively. Managers in industrial companies, should pay attention to decision type and data quality more than flexibility and IOS.

The paper draws heutagogical philosophy by providing choices and opportunities to design the business process in descriptive qualitative through in-depth interviews with educational observers. The paper explain that the risk finance design for business accounting management fosters the convergence of knowledge and technology. This convergence makes the development of business adaptive. The paper produce a risk management that promotes a dynamic and flexible egalitarian digital to explore scholar creatively, independently and responsibly.

This article is aimed at reviewing the history of the emergence and development of management accounting in Russia. The model of the combined type of financial and management accounting is considered, it is also the Soviet accounting standard, at the same time, the model used in the Russian Empire, as well as the standards and procedure for accepting accounting management accounting at the enterprise, will be considered. At the same time, the differences between international financial reporting standards and Russian accounting standards will be shown, I will also present the reasons why management accounting in the USSR did not exist as a separate industry, as well as the reasons for the emergence of Russian accounting standards and the reasons why they are applied. along with international ones. Modern variants of management accounting are considered.

Dynamic Pricing Models and Negotiating Agents: Developments in Management Accounting

Linking decision systems, negotiating agents, management accounting, and computational accounting, this paper aims at exploring dynamic pricing strategies of a synthetic business-to-consumer online operation and a comparative analysis of evolving strategy-specific pricing optimization. Five price models based on market, utility, or demand information (three single and two combined), merging online and offline data, are explored over a seven-day period and with twenty selected products. A total of 17,529 website visits and 538 agent negotiations are studied (94,607 main data points) using a Python solution, with model simulation parameters and assumptions described. Findings show the combined market-utility-demand performance of dynamic pricing to be superior as an input to the negotiating agent. Contributions are threefold, pointing to (a) management accounting practice and research (dynamic pricing), (b) science and research strategy (method), and (c) accounting education (skill set).
