Analysis on Export Competitiveness of Chinese Chemical Products

First of all, this paper summarizes the research progress of international Chemicals which are a kind of products that cannot be ignored in people’s life and production. Under the call of national policy of fine chemical and green chemical industry, in recent years, China’s chemical products output ranks the top in the world, and the export trade grows rapidly, but the export of domestic chemical products keeps a deficit in foreign trade. In the face of complex and changeable international competition and foreign trade situation, it is helpful for the sustainable and healthy development and progress of domestic economy to comprehensively analyze and elaborate the structure, competitiveness and related influencing factors of China’s chemical export. This paper analyzes the research and development of international competitiveness and constructs the research framework and main research methods of this paper. Based on the research results of international competitiveness at home and abroad, the evaluation system of export competitiveness of Chinese chemicals is constructed. Secondly, this paper analyzes the export status of domestic chemicals and related manufactured products from the main body of chemical exports, chemical exports and chemical export regions. This paper analyzes the international competitiveness level of chemical products in China by using the international market share, dominant comparative advantage index and trade competitiveness index. The results show that at present, China’s chemical products are still very lack of international competitiveness. In order to further analyze the factors that affect the competitiveness of chemical manufacturing industry, based on Porter diamond model and previous research results, this paper establishes a multiple regression model, and analyzes the impact of four indicators of capital, scientific research and innovation level, industrial concentration and scale economy on the international competitiveness of chemical manufacturing industry. Finally, based on the results of empirical analysis, this paper puts forward suggestions to improve the export competitiveness of domestic chemicals and related manufactured goods.

And cultural soft power contains the part of foreign language soft power, so foreign language is undoubtedly a very important part. It should have been envisaged before the Qinhuangdao Seaside Cultural Tourism Project, that there will be a large number of international outsiders in the promotion of island scenery and cultural traditions, so accurate and timely communication and communication is extremely important, so we should reserve the talents of foreign language as a skill before that. (Li, 2019) As shown in Figure 1, Therefore, from the point of view of the importance of foreign language soft power, if we want to develop Qinhuangdao seaside tourism project, we should deeply understand that not only to promote the economic development of the country and the joint development of various industries, but also to promote the inheritance of our country's historical and cultural traditions, on the basis of economic development, but also to carry out cultural export and inheritance, these measures are undoubtedly not very realistic theoretical significance. Therefore, this paper takes the soft power of foreign language as its starting point, from this point of view, to build the development model of Qinhuangdao coastal cultural tourism project, and then as an example, is conducive to the development and implementation of other special projects, from the development of coastal tourism projects at home and abroad, the impact of cultural differences between China and foreign countries and training measures for foreign language professionals, to provide effective reference value for the development of Qinhuangdao seaside cultural tourism project.

Processing Trade, FDI and the Exports of Indigenous Firms: Firm‐Level Evidence from Technology‐Intensive Industries in China

AbstractThis study examines the impact of processing trade‐foreign direct investment (FDI) on the export competitiveness of indigenous firms using disaggregated firm‐level production data and product‐level trade data from China covering the 2000–07 period. The estimation results show that processing trade‐FDI has generated significant positive information spillover effect on the export performance of indigenous firms. However, its technology spillovers effect on the development of international competitiveness in indigenous firms is limited and in fact exerts a significant depressive effect on the propensity to export in these firms. Indigenous innovation, economies of scale and productivity are found to be the main drivers of export performance in indigenous firms.

Development of international competitiveness in industries and individual firms in developing countries: The case of the Chilean forest-based industry and the Chilean engineering firm Arze, Reciné and Asociados

The report, which is based on case studies of the Chilean forest-based industry and the Chilean engineering firm Arze, Reciné and Asociados (ARA), discusses and analyzes the interdependence over time between technology and knowledge of foreign origin and in-house innovative capability in connection with development of international competitiveness in a developing country environment. The case studies illustrate the important role that foreign technology and know-how have played for the development of the Chilean forest-based industry as well as for ARA. A common denominator of the two cases, however, is that the acquisition of foreign technology and knowledge has often been initiated from the Chilean side which has made possible a successful assimilation and “internalization” of the acquired technology, resulting in increased self-sufficiency. An analysis of the “productivity status” of various factors of production for selected sectors of the Chilean forest-based industry points out the pulp sector as the most competitive in the international context. However, as this competitiveness is primarily based on natural cost advantages and low wages, sustained international competitiveness for the pulp sector as well as for other sectors will, increasingly depend on the ability to replace basic factor advantages with advantages based on more sophisticated capabilities and competences. This will allow for a gradual shift from the vulnerable cost-based strategies presently applied, to more stable and long-lived strategies based on differentiation. A similar analysis of ARA reveals that the firm, in order to become competitive in the international market, needs to improve in all respects related to operating internationally, including international marketing, language skills and representation abroad. The internationalization of ARA could be implemented either in-house or in partnership with other domestic firms or with foreign firms. The strategic alliances with foreign firm that the firm has experienced in the past have contributed significantly to improve ARA's competitiveness in the domestic market, but yielded very little in terms of participation in international assignments. This is due to, among other things, low confidence in the foreign market in the qualities and capabilities of Chilean products and firms and protectionistic behavior of foreign partners and governments. In case foreign partnership would be chosen as internationalization strategy, the ideal partner would be a small or medium-sized firm whose specific know-how within a certain field of technology is complementary to that of ARA.
