Supply and Demand Model for a Chili Enterprise System Using a Simultaneous Equations System

The supply and demand of various fresh chili types correspond to one another simultaneously because they can be complementary or substitute products. This study aimed to simultaneously examine the supply and demand model of red chili and cayenne peppers to support innovative chili enterprise system development. The methodology is the simultaneous equation system panel data using the years 2010–2020 time-series and provincial cross-sectional data combined with data mining techniques. The two-stage least square method was used for the estimation and simulation of the models. The results of the models comprise three identities and ten structural equations. The resulting models are all statistically fit with some drawbacks owing to the micro-level data availabilities. The simulations on the labor wages, prices, demand, and production for red chili and cayenne peppers affected the other variables within the model. In conclusion, the chili supply and demand models could support the development of the innovative chili enterprise system; however, this requires proactive collaboration and participation from all the relevant institutions and actors. Moreover, this research model is potentially applicable to other horticultural commodities.

Deep Learning-Based Optimization Algorithm for Enterprise Personnel Identity Authentication.

Enterprise strategic management is not only an important part of enterprise work, but also an important factor to deepen the reform of management system and promote the centralized and unified management of enterprises. Enterprise strategic management is to study the major problems of survival and development of enterprises in the competitive environment from the overall and long-term point of view. It is the most important function of senior leaders of modern enterprises. Starting from the characteristics of the recognition object, this paper analyzes the individual differences of biometrics through intelligent face image recognition technology to identify biometrics, which can be used to identify different individuals. This paper studies the main problems of personnel identity authentication in the current enterprise strategic management system. Based on identity management and supported by face image recognition technology, deep learning, and cloud computing technology, the personnel management model of the management system is constructed, which solves the problems of personnel real identity authentication and personnel safety behavior control. Experiments show that the model can simplify the workflow, improve the operation efficiency, and reduce the management cost. From the perspective of enterprise system development, building a scientific enterprise strategic management system is of great significance to improve the scientific level of enterprise system management.

Controlling Technical Debt Remediation in Outsourced Enterprise Systems Maintenance: An Empirical Analysis

ABSTRACT Technical debt refers to maintenance obligations that stem from violations of established standards during the development and subsequent maintenance of enterprise systems. Technical debt remediation is particularly challenging in the outsourcing context due to information asymmetry between client and vendor teams. Control balancing—the periodic adjustments to the control configurations of outsourced projects—has been proposed as a process to help mitigate these information asymmetry challenges. Using data collected from 1,824 real-world projects, we tested to what extent control balancing improves the remediation of technical debt. After controlling for a number of technical and environmental factors, including system size, system lifespan, and contract parameters, we find that control balancing can benefit technical debt remediation, but primarily when processes for migrating technical debt-laden systems to new technological platforms have been identified. We highlight the role of technical debt in influencing the effects of relational flexibility in inter-firm engagements.

Heroes, contracts, cooperation, and processes: Changes in collaboration in a large enterprise systems project

Enterprise systems are developed and tailored in large, long-term projects, sometimes spanning for decades, whereby a network of parties comprising customer and developer organizations, subcontractors, and consultants work together to deliver a successful system. This collaboration is complex; the network and the operating environment are in a constant flux, which creates conflict and challenging situations. Collaboration and ways of working evolve through various crises, internal and external incidents, and project phases. This means that project management practices, communication patterns, contracts, and ultimately personal relationships change.This longitudinal, qualitative, single case study analyzes a 20-year-old enterprise systems development project, whereby different incidents and crises initiated changes to collaboration practices and the drivers for collaboration. We identified four collaboration modes — contract mode, cooperation mode, personified mode, and process mode — each of which was the main driver in different development circumstances. As a key contribution, we propose the seed of a mid-range theory that provides heuristics for responding to different types of crises that might occur while developing large-scale systems.

An ERP Implementation Method: Studying a Pharmaceutical Company

Analyzing the development process for an ERP solution, in our case SAP, is one of the most critical processes in implementing standard software packages. Modelling of the proposed system can facilitate the development of enterprise systems not from scratch but through use of predefined parts who represents the best knowledge captured from numerous case studies. This aims at abstracting the specification of the required information system as well as modelling the process towards this goal. Modelling plays a central role in the organization of the information systems development process and the information systems community has developed a large number of conceptual models, systems of concepts, for representing conceptual schemata. In the area of ERP systems, because of the characteristics that distinguishes them, conceptual modelling can help in all aspects of the development process, from goal elicitation to reuse of the captured knowledge, through the use of the appropriate modelling schemata. SAP offers a standardized software solution, thus making easier the alignment of SAP requirements to enterprise requirements in a goal form, and the correspondent business processes.

The problem of data security in IEEE 802.15.4 systems on Pololu Wixel devices is solved, examples of hardware and software implementation of encryption and decryption of different devices on the same platform are given. The proposed approaches can be used in the development, implementation and operation of wireless enterprise, industrial, and personal systems. Possible areas of development for this work are related to research on improving encryption algorithms (increasing key length, using asymmetric ciphers, etc.), comparing their performance, and implementing a complete data exchange protocol. During the work there were problems in the implementation of encryption algorithms on low-power processors. During the work, a number of issues were resolved regarding type reduction, addressing, memory space, buffer overflow, and more. Issues resolved with reconciliation of receiver and transmitter operation. Examples of hardware and software implementation of encryption and decryption of different devices based on Pololu Wixel are given in the paper. The basic task of building a secure communication channel by encrypting data in the channel was solved and firmware and application software were obtained to fully validate the devices. In addition, this work has great application potential, since the implementation of encryption in existing systems will have a small impact on implementation and will not affect the project budget, but will dramatically improve the security of data transmission in these networks. The proposed approaches can be used in the development, implementation and operation of wireless enterprise, industrial, and personal systems. Continuing this work may be to test the performance of other protocols on this and similar hardware for systems that may be embedded in short-range wireless communication projects of short-range standards.

An ontology-based multi-agent virtual enterprise system (OMAVE): part 2: partner selection

A virtual enterprise (VE) is a collaboration model between multiple business partners in a value chain. The VE model is particularly feasible and appropriate for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and industrial parks containing multiple SMEs that have different vertical competencies. The VE consortium’s success highly depends on its members. Therefore, it is crucial to select the most appropriate enterprises when forming a VE consortium. In this study, a new multi-agent hybrid partner selection algorithm is developed for application in the development of an ontology-based multi-agent virtual enterprise (OMAVE) system. In this platform, the agent’s interactions are supported by agent ontology, which provides concepts, properties and all message formats for the agents. Different types of agents collaborate and compete with each other so that unqualified or inefficient enterprises are eliminated from the enterprise pool. Only the remaining enterprises would be allowed to enter the negotiation process and propose in the bidding. The agent-based auctioning platform is coupled with a fuzzy–AHP–TOPSIS algorithm to evaluate partners based on their proposals and background. Accordingly, the winning enterprise for each task is identified and the whole project can be accomplished by assigning tasks to the responsible partners. To test and verify the functionality of the developed OMAVE system, a sample module using OMAVE applications and tools was manufactured. The last section of this paper presents the results of this case study, which validate the applicability of the proposed technique.

Variable Contents of Enterprise Models

In information systems development models are used to represent real and target enterprise systems. Ideally the enterprise could have two basic enterprise models – an As-Is model an To-Be model that may integrate all representations of the enterprise relevant to information systems development. Although there are many different suggested approaches how to model the enterprise, no consensus exists of what exactly should be the spectrum of model elements and corresponding to them enterprise artifacts for successful enterprise and information systems development. In this paper we propose an approach of identifying core enterprise model constituents for different systems development settings. The approach is based on the integration of professional knowledge regarding artifacts used in various systems development cases with the variations of a continuous requirements engineering framework that combines traditional requirements identification functions with additional continuous audit, monitoring and analytics activities.

An investigation of the application of hygienic standards for the design of industrial enterprises (GBZ 1-2010)

Objective: To study the applicability, the high frequency used content, the feasibility, and issues needed to be solved of the standard of GBZ 1-2010, aiming to provide technical evidence for the revision of GBZ1. Methods: In the study, the data were collected by referring to the literature database and the questionnaire from June 2013 to June 2015. There were 2 surveys carried out in the study, with methods including questionnaire survey and specific interview. The investigation methods include the paper version of the questionnaire by mail, the electronic version of the questionnaire by e-mail, and the online survey. And 111 questionnaires were collected. Results: In total, the applicability survey (the first survey) received 156 suggestions covering 76 items from 23 facilities, and 13 key technical issues were summarized to be solved as priorities. In the application survey (the second survey) , the leading three jobs using GBZ 1-2010 were the occupational hazards evaluation for constructive project (82.0%) , lecturing/training (65.8%) , occupational hazards monitoring (64.9%) , respectively. The high frequency used contents of GBZ 1-2010 were the sixth part "the basic hygienic requirements for workplace" (90.1%) , the fifth part "site selection, overall layout and workshop design" (87.4%) , the seventh part "the basic hygienic requirements for welfare room" (85.6%) , respectively. In the results of feasibility, scores of the fourth part "the general rules" , the fifth part "site selection, overall layout and workshop design" , the sixth part "the basic hygienic requirements for workplace" , the seventh part "the basic hygienic requirements for welfare room" , the eighth "emergency rescue" , annex A "the correct use instructions" , annex B "buffer zone standards for industrial enterprises" were 2.6, 3.1, 3.5, 3.8, 3.2, 3.3, 2.6, respectively. Among 111 questionnaires, the parts needed to be modified as priories were the fifth part "site selection, overall layout and workshop design" (51.4%) , and the sixth part "the basic hygienic requirements for workplace" (51.4%) . In results of the key technical issues needed to be modified of GBZ 1-2010, the contents needed to be added as priories were the occupational prevention and control requirements of biological factors (51.4%) , technical parameters of dust in workplace (48.7%) , technical parameters of hazardous agents in workplace (46.9%) , the quality and quantity requirements of fresh air (46.0%) , the setting conditions of the emergency rescue station (46.0%) , the hygienic design requirements of joint workshops and the evidence (45.1%) , and requirements for medical emergency rescue personnel equipped and qualified (45.1%) . Conclusion: GBZ 1-2010 is feasible and practical, mainly used by occupational health technical service organizations in the occupational hazards evaluation for constructive project, lecturing/training, occupational hazards monitoring, et al. GBZ 1 plays a directive role in government decision-making, control of constructive projects from the beginning, training and capacity building of occupational health professionals, and the prevention and treatment of occupational diseases in enterprises, needing to strengthen the implementation of GBZ 1. And on the basis of the above key technical issues to be revised, international cooperation and exchanges should be strengthened, so that it is adapted to the development of the modern enterprise system.

The Business of Being a User: The Role of the Reference Actor in Shaping Packaged Enterprise System Acquisition and Development

The paper extends the concept of to account for a new, more formalized role that some client organizations play in the diffusion of packaged enterprise systems. Package vendors are attempting to draw parts of their user base into activities related to the promotion, selling, and commodification of systems. Users, in turn, appear willing to help construct these systems as objects of consumption for others. This can appear to be rather idiosyncratic behavior. Information Systems scholars have argued that relations between packaged enterprise system vendors and users are attenuated. Why might the user help the vendor market its systems in this way? What benefits accrue from it? And what role are users performing in carrying out this work? To show how this is becoming a general facet of the work of some packaged enterprise system users, we develop the notion of actor, which is an extension of the earlier Information Systems concept of actor. In combining insights from the social shaping of technology and the biography of artifacts, and drawing on long-term qualitative fieldwork, we analyze this new actor role in relation to expectations and commitments coming from the wider packaged enterprise system community. In return for the help provided to prospective adopters, reference actors are also able to gather various kinds of benefits for themselves and others. In particular, they build closer relations with vendors such that they can influence product development strategies.

LB2CO: A Semantic Ontology Framework for B2C eCommerce Transaction on the Internet

Business ontology can enhance the successful development of complex enterprise system; this is being achieved through knowledge sharing and the ease of communication between every entity in the domain. Through human semantic interaction with the web resources, machines to interpret the data published in a machine interpretable form under web. However, the theoretical practice of business ontology in eCommerce domain is quite a few especially in the section of electronic transaction, and the various techniques used to obtain efficient communication across spheres are error prone and are not always guaranteed to be efficient in obtaining desired result due to poor semantic integration between entities. To overcome the poor semantic integration this research focuses on proposed ontology called LB2CO, which combines the framework of IDEF5 & SNAP as an analysis tool, for automated recommendation of product and services and create effective ontological framework for B2C transaction & communication across different business domains that facilitates the interoperability & integration of B2C transactions over the web.

Enterprise systems in Russia: 1992–2012

This paper introduces the enterprise systems (ES) development and implementation in Russia in the past three decades. Historic analysis shows that, in terms of time frame, the development of ACS (Automated Control Systems) in the former Soviet Union and the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) in the West was almost parallel. In this paper, the current status and the major trend of ES in Russia is discussed.

Applying AHP for Collaborative Modeling Evaluation

Collaborative modeling is one of the approaches used to enhance productivity in many enterprise modeling and system development projects. Determining the success of such a collaborative effort needs an evaluation of a number of factors which affect the quality of not only the end-products – the models, but also that of other modeling artifacts: the modeling language, the modeling procedure and the support tool. Although a number of quality frameworks have been developed, few of these frameworks have received practical validation and many offer little guidance about how the evaluation is operationalized. The Collaborative Modeling Evaluation (COME) framework presented in this paper offers a holistic approach to the evaluation of the four modeling artifacts. It employs the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a well-established method from Operations Research, to score the artifacts’ quality dimensions and to aggregate the modelers’ priorities and preferences. Results from a modeling experiment demonstrate both the theoretical and practical significance of the framework.

MBTDD: MODEL BASED TEST DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT

Test Driven Development (TDD), as a quality promotion approach, suffers from some shortages that discourage its usage. One of the most challenging shortcomings of TDD is the low level of granularity and abstraction. This may lead to production of software that is not acceptable by the end users. Additionally, exploiting of TDD is not applicable in the enterprise systems development. To overcome this defect, we have merged TDD with Model Based Testing (MBT) and suggested a framework named Model Based Test Driven Development (MBTDD). According to TDD, writing test cases comes before programming, and based on our improved method of TDD, modeling precedes writing test cases. To validate the applicability of the proposed framework, we have implemented a use case of Human Resource Management (HRM) system by means of MBTDD. The empirical results of using MBTTD show that our proposed method overwhelms existing deficiencies of TDD.

Enterprise systems requirement analysis for process-centric continuous monitoring

Continuous auditing requires that information systems (IS) are developed not only to fulfill business requirements but also to continuously monitor transactions and fulfill compliance and pervasive control requirements. The integration of enterprise systems and their controls within a process-centric logic necessitates a likewise integration of their development processes. Subsequently existing tools and techniques for requirements analysis need to be recast within a hybrid and integrated approach dubbed requirement analysis for process-centric continuous monitoring or RA-PCCM, which consists of the concurrent analysis of operational systems, IS, the control system and the management system. RA-PCCM offers a working model for the concurrent development of enterprise systems and their internal controls, hence ensuring the continuous monitoring of transaction processing and compliance with pervasive controls. Consequently, auditing assumes the role of control monitoring assurance rather than the substantive testing of enterprise system process and output.
