Evaluation and impact factors of international competitiveness of China’s cobalt industry from the perspective of trade networks

In recent years, with the development of the new energy industry, the demand for cobalt as a raw material for power batteries has been increasing. However, China itself has a shortage of cobalt resources. Therefore, overcoming poor resource conditions and enhancing the international competitiveness of the cobalt industry have become urgent issues. This paper is based on global trade data on cobalt resources from 2007 to 2020. A panel regression model is constructed from the perspective of trade networks, and Entropy-Topsis is used to construct a comprehensive evaluation index system for the international competitiveness of critical nonferrous metals. This study empirically examines the impact of the trade network characteristics of cobalt resources on international competitiveness, assigns practical significance to trade network characteristic indicators, and analyses the overall competitiveness changes in the global cobalt industry chain and its upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. The research findings reveal the following key points: (1) In recent years, the competitive focus of the cobalt industry chain in various countries has shifted from upstream and midstream to midstream and downstream, with increasingly fierce trade competition downstream, gradually tilting toward countries such as South Korea, Japan, and China. (2) Cobalt trade competition, which was initially characterized by competition among multiple countries, has gradually become more centralized and stable, with differences in the competitiveness of various countries occurring at different stages of the cobalt industry chain. (3) Network centrality and network heterogeneity both have a significant promoting effect on the international competitiveness of the industry, while network connectivity has a significant inhibitory effect on the improvement of international competitiveness.On this basis, the study also suggests some policy implications. The purpose of the study is to enhance the international competitiveness of China's cobalt industry from a trade perspective and to investigate the developments of cobalt trade between China and the rest of the world.

Legal Policy Impact on Indonesia's Geothermal Industry Development: FDI Cooperation and NDC

Geothermal significantly contributes to the state's energy industry development as a widely available low-carbon, sustainable, and strategic resource. As Indonesia is committed to achieving NZE 2060, renewable energy development is being conducted massively. Seeking Indonesia's geothermal energy potential, several regulations, policies, and schemes are implemented, including investment schemes, as financing plays a vital role in the industry's development. However, establishing a seamless procurement is highly dependent on national law regulations which govern the financing, procurement, and utilizations up to investors benefits. This article identifies international and national regulations on FDI, business schemes, and its alignment with INDC strategic programs, demonstrating Indonesia's commitment. It finds much room for improvement in national law regulation, especially the upcoming RE Draft Bill, as the implementation of established FDI schemes has not met the investor's favors. However, among AMS, Indonesia is the most committed country to achieving NZE. Therefore this article examines the Legal Policy Impact on Indonesia’s Geothermal Industry Development through FDI Cooperation and NDC. This article is conducted in Normative Legal Research and uses the Statutory Approach as its problem approach.

Experimental study on the inhibition of hydrogen deflagration by flame-retardant compounded ultrafine dry powder fire extinguishing media containing zinc hydroxystannate

With the rapid development of global hydrogen energy industry, the issue of hydrogen energy safety has emerged, it is prone to cause a serious explosion accident once hydrogen leaks. Therefore, it is urgent to develop efficient suppression media to reduce the severity of hydrogen explosion accidents. In this paper, a new compounded powder composed of ordinary ultra-fine dry powder extinguishing agent (ODPEA) and zinc hydroxystannate (ZHS) is prepared. On the basis of material preparation, an experimental system of hydrogen explosive suppression is established to explore the inhibitory effect of ODPEA-ZHS. In terms of explosion overpressure, the results show that the peak overpressure suppression rates of ODPEA-ZHS are 90.12 %, 92.31 %, and 93.04 % for hydrogen release pressures of 2.0, 4.0, and 6.0 MPa, respectively. Besides, the flame front propagation velocity under the action of ODPEA-ZHS reaches a suppression rate of 40.55 %. Furthermore, the overpressure suppression efficiency of ODPEA-ZHS exceeds 90 % when ignites 1.0 m axially from leak port. Ultimately, the physicochemical synergistic inhibition mechanism of ODPEA-ZHS is revealed by combining material characterization and pyrolysis results. This study can provide effective countermeasures for accident prevention in hydrogen energy industry, and also contribute to the establishment of hydrogen energy safety standards and norms.

Prediction method for power fluctuations in cross regional consumption and transportation under the integration of new energy

Against the backdrop of the increasing development of the new energy industry, the volatility of new energy output poses significant challenges to regional power grid balance and energy absorption. Therefore, this article proposes a prediction method for cross regional transmission power fluctuations under new energy integration conditions. A comprehensive and representative sample dataset was constructed by comprehensively considering factors such as fluctuations in new energy output, capacity confidence, and peak shaving characteristic parameters, combined with numerical weather forecast data. Normalize the sample data to eliminate dimensional differences between parameters. The sparrow search algorithm is used to optimize the weights and thresholds of the double hidden layer BP neural network, effectively avoiding local optimization problems caused by over training. The experimental results show that this method has significant advantages in predicting power fluctuations in cross regional absorption and transportation of new energy, with a predicted power to power ratio of over 0.85.

MARITIME DEPLOYMENT PLANNING AND EXECUTION FOR FIELD TESTING OF OCEAN CURRENT POWER GENERATOR

To develop ocean current power generation, this study explored the planning and execution of the installation and deployment of a 20kW Floating Kuroshio Turbine (FKT) system and anchoring system for field-testing in the southwest coast of Liuqiu Island. During the experiment, the 20kW FKT and anchoring system were loaded onto a vessel from the Kaohsiung Port Intercontinental Container Center by a barge and tugboat for deployment in the southwest coast of Liuqiu Island. The field testing of the 20kW FKT was conducted during this period, and upon completion, the unit will be retrieved. The deployment and retrieval of marine devices are easily affected by wave conditions, which increase the difficulty of the operation. Therefore, when designing the hanging and unhooking system, under the consideration of safety, the convenience of operation for the operators should be simplified as much as possible and safety, The study aims to further develop Taiwan's domestic ocean current power generation technology and provides maritime engineering experience through the installation of the 20kW FKT unit and field mooring tests. Additionally, this research seeks to facilitate a local marine green energy industry development through the economic benefits and commercialization of ocean current power generation.

Analysis of the Problems and Reasons for the Development of Suzhou Hydrogen Energy Industry and Industrial Policies

In recent years, although there have been some policy plans related to hydrogen energy development in China, a complete fiscal policy system has not yet been established. In policies related to hydrogen energy, we cannot keep up with the times. Only some policies are specifically targeted at solar photovoltaic and wind power generation, and some policies are even temporary. These fiscal policies are severely lagging and lack uniformity, which not only weakens the overall effect of the money supply, but also to some extent hinders the healthy and rapid development of the hydrogen energy industry. In addition, the national development plan, including national and local plans, cannot be well connected, resulting in some policies not forming strong support for hydrogen energy. In these industrial plans, production capacity targets account for the majority, but there is a lack of refinement of utilization targets and little mention of the development balance of the industrial chain.

Endogenous advanced oxidation process with peracetic acid for recycling spent LiFePO4 batteries

LiFePO4 batteries are becoming more widely used due to their low cost and high stability advantages, which means that many spent batteries are generated. Designing green and efficient recycling methods for used batteries is strategically significant for the sustainable development of the new energy industry. This study innovatively proposes a self-activated advanced oxidation process with peroxyacetic acid for recycling spent LiFePO4, selectively releasing Li+ while converting LiFePO4 to FePO4. Quenching tests show that the de-embedding of Li+ is mainly caused by the rapid attack from HO• and R-O• radicals. Furthermore, the recycled products Li2CO3 and FePO4 are employed to regenerate LiFePO4 cathode materials, forming a closed-loop recycling process. Compared with traditional hydrometallurgy and hydrogen peroxide oxidation methods, this technology has obvious advantages in terms of process complexity, energy consumption, reagent consumption, recovery profit, and environmental friendliness. This work opens up a new way for the recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries.

Literature Review on Chinese New Energy Investment Research

With the rapid development of Chinas new energy industry, the new energy investment market has attracted widespread attention from various sectors of society. In response to this, academic research on new energy investment has become increasingly abundant. This paper conducts a comprehensive review and summary of literature related to Chinese new energy investment, focusing on three aspects: Market and Participants, Influences and Values, and Investment Strategies and Risk Management. The main research perspectives from relevant literature are extracted and synthesized. Additionally, the paper analyzes and summarizes the existing shortcomings in research areas, providing directional suggestions for future academic research.

A Study on the Experience of Hydrogen Energy Research and Development in Suzhou City

Through the exploration of advanced models of the hydrogen energy industry both domestically and internationally, it has been found that many developed countries abroad attach great importance to the hydrogen energy industry and provide policies that greatly help the development of the hydrogen energy industry. Whether it is funding, talent, or related supporting laws, they are relatively complete to help enterprises develop hydrogen energy. Beijing, Zhangjiakou, Foshan, and Yunfu cities in China have advanced experience in the construction of hydrogen energy industrial parks. Their park construction not only conforms to local characteristics, but also brings different changes to their surrounding areas, providing favorable assistance for the development and expansion of hydrogen energy.

The impact of green finance on the development of the non-hydro renewable energy industry: An empirical study based on data from 30 provinces in China

As the global environmental pollution problem has received more attention, low-carbon development has become mainstream, and replacing fossil-fuel energy with new energy has become a general trend. Green finance, an important measure for promoting low-carbon development, is critical to the development of the non-hydro renewable energy industry. Using China's provincial panel data from 2008 to 2021, we conducted an empirical analysis to explore the impact of green finance on the development of the non-hydro renewable energy industry. We found the following: (1) Nationally, green finance promoted the development of the non-hydro renewable energy industry. (2) The mechanism test results show that green finance promoted the development of the non-hydro renewable energy industry by improving the level of scientific and technological research as well as reducing the corporate financing cost. (3) Regionally, green finance could significantly promote the development of the non-hydro renewable energy industry in energy-rich regions, while the impact was not significant in energy-poor regions. (4) Green finance significantly promoted the development of the non-hydro renewable energy industry in the inland region, while the impact was not significant in the coastal region. (5) Green finance promoted the development of wind power generation more than it did photovoltaic generation. Based on the findings, the non-hydro renewable energy industry in various regions should be developed according to local conditions, giving full play to the promotional role of green finance.

In this context, this paper provides an in-depth study of Tesla's market strategy and its impact on China's new energy vehicle market, outlining the complex interplay between market dynamics, government policies, and corporate strategies, and covering a number of important aspects, including government support, market expansion, consumer demand, competition and pricing strategies, product differentiation, infrastructure development, technological advances, and raw material foreign trade relations. Overall, these results and data show that Tesla's impact on China's new energy vehicle market is very important, intensifying the competition in China's new energy vehicle market, prompting similar new energy vehicle companies in China to innovate, improving the industrial level of China's new energy vehicle companies, and helping to improve China's policies in this area.

Integrated Two-Level New Energy Monitoring and Big Data Centers: A Comprehensive Approach for Urban Sustainability

With the help of the quick development of big data, the Internet of Things, and other related technologies, the construction of new energy monitoring and big data centres aims to enhance the control capability of urban new energy stations. Inefficient operation and maintenance of new energy stations, as well as chaotic production control, are the reasons behind this action. Given the limitations of the current stage of new energy big data platform construction, the construction of group-level new energy monitoring and big data centres to achieve a high degree of integration and sharing of resources and experience has become an inevitable development of the new energy industry. This project aims to achieve multi-level integration in decision-making from the bottom up by using the background of the construction of the Wenzhou New Energy Two-Level Centre as a guide, organising the business processes for new energy production and equipment control, designing the technical architecture of the platform for cloud-side collaboration, providing guidance for the heterogeneous data processing and analysis of new energy assets in the cloud, and acting as a model for the development of the group-level intelligent platform for the new energy industry.

Energy Marketing and Fiscal Regulation of a Competitive Energy Efficiency System

Introduction. Developing and implementing the principles of the energy-saving approach concept actualizes the need to define energy marketing tasks and fiscal regulation tools for energy conservation to increase the efficiency of using resources in the energy sector.
 Aim and tasks. The aim of this study is to form and substantiate the expediency of implementing directions for energy marketing development and fiscal regulation of implementing energy-saving measures to achieve the goals of national economic recovery and large-scale energy modernization.
 The results. The main tasks of energy marketing in monitoring the current world environment based on information and communication technologies have been defined and substantiated, and that should become a source of competitive advantage in the electric energy market and obtain significant income for market participants. It has been proven that using oligopoly models to determine the equilibrium condition of the electric energy market will make it possible to form a corrective managerial influence on the development of a competitive energy industry. With a 3-fold increase in the demand parameter, it has been established that the electricity market reaches equilibrium under the equilibrium model of supply functions with larger electricity production volumes and lower prices than in other models. It has been proposed to introduce tools for fiscal regulation by introducing energy-saving technologies into a single system of solutions to increase energy efficiency and energy saving.
 Conclusions. Analysing and generalizing the features of energy market participants’ interaction using a wide range of oligopoly models made it possible to develop recommendations for implementing strategic security-related tasks. If these tasks are not realized, the risks of losing energy independence will increase, and the economic potential necessary for the restoration and further development of the national economy will continue to be lost based on the principles of sustainable development and a systematic approach to setting and achieving the goal of the national energy-saving policy. The feasibility of introducing tools for budget regulation is also justified, which will create a robust creative basis for implementing an effective strategy for managing the demand for energy resources.

Construction of iron-modulated VN/V3O4/Co5·47N nanoparticles with rich heterogeneous interfaces for efficient oxygen evolution reaction

With the increasing need of clean energy demand, the development of efficient and green electrocatalysts for water electrolysis plays an irreplaceable role in the realization of large-scale production of hydrogen. Herein, an original iron modulated heterogeneous VN/V3O4/Co5·47N nanoparticles (FVOCN) is successfully synthesized using hydrothermal technique and in situ pyrolysis protocol. Through a series of characterization, it is found that the addition of iron in VN/V3O4/Co5·47N (VOCN) can significantly regulate the electronic structure and make it have better electrochemical oxygen evolution activity in 1 M KOH solution as opposed to the VOCN. The catalyst is obtained at the sintering temperature of 600 °C has the best performance, which only requires a lower overpotential of 270 mV to attain the current density of 10 mA cm−2 and superior to commercial IrO2. The method of introducing iron into vanadium-based, cobalt-based nitrides and vanadium-based oxides can broaden the research content of new electrochemical oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts and provide a reference idea for the development of energy industry.

Experimental investigation of rectangular nozzle aspect ratio effects on high-pressure helium leakage characteristics

High-pressure hydrogen leakage is one of the bottlenecks restricting the development of the hydrogen energy industry. In this study, a high-pressure helium leakage experimental system with stable pressure was built to research the influence of aspect ratio on concentration decay rate and mass flow rate. Similar to the circular nozzle, the centerline helium concentration of the rectangular jet is also inversely proportional to the distance from the nozzle. For the rectangular nozzles with aspect ratio of 1–4, the helium concentration decay rate is consistent with the circular nozzle when the leakage pressure is lower than 6.5 MPa. However, the decay rate is obviously larger for rectangular nozzles with aspect ratio of 10 when the leakage pressure is greater than 5.0 MPa. The aspect ratio has a greater influence on the flow coefficient, which increases with the aspect ratio under the same leakage pressure. To comprehensively consider the effects of nozzle size and shape, a weighted characteristic diameter of equivalent diameter and rectangular width, dc=αde+1−αdw, was proposed in this study. The results indicate that the equivalent diameter has greater impact on the centerline concentration decay rate, while the width of nozzles has substantial influence on the flow coefficient.

Magnetic alginate supported potassium manganese ferrocyanide for the recovery of uranium from acidic wastewater

Abstract With the rapid development of the atomic energy industry, the demand for nuclear fuel has risen, while the limited resources of uranium mines make it difficult to meet the needs of the future development of nuclear energy. Expanding sources of uranium acquisition is necessary, and the enrichment and recovery of precious uranium from uranium-containing wastewater is invaluable. By synthesizing alginate supported potassium manganese ferrocyanide nanocomposites with magnetic response (KMnFC/MA/Fe3O4), the high efficiency adsorption and separation of uranium in acidic uranium-containing wastewater can be realized conveniently and quickly. The magnetic composite was characterized by a variety of technical means, and the adsorption behavior of the magnetic material on uranium was studied by static adsorption experiments under different environmental conditions. The adsorption kinetics and isotherm of uranium by KMnFC/MA/Fe3O4 were studied by using some common linear adsorption models. The results show that the adsorption rate of KMnFC/MA/Fe3O4 on uranium is fast, and the adsorption equilibrium can be reached within 90 min. The adsorption process conforms to a pseudo-secondary kinetic model and is dominated by chemisorption. The adsorption of uranium by KMnFC/MA/Fe3O4 magnetic material is single molecular layer adsorption, and the maximum adsorption capacity is 425.5 mg g−1 at 35 °C. KMnFC/MA/Fe3O4 is a promising adsorbent in the field of acidic low-concentration uranium wastewater treatment because of its good effect on the treatment of low concentration uranium wastewater, the concentration of uranium in the wastewater reaches the emission standard after treatment and it is easy to be separated magnetically after adsorption.

Can public opinions improve the effect of financial early warning ? -- an empirical study on the new energy industry

Public opinion will significantly affect investor decision-making and stock prices, which ultimately has an impact on the long-term development of the new energy industry. This paper mainly aims to delve in the impact of public opinion on the efficacy of financial risk early warning effect and try to establish an enhanced financial risk early warning model for the new energy list companies. To achieve this, we collect the financial data and public evaluation texts of 185 new energy listed companies, converting the text into emotional indicators which are combined with financial indicators to build a financial risk early warning model for new energy listed companies. The contributions of this paper are as follows: (1) The experiment validation demonstrates that the combination of 7 deep learning models and Bagging algorithm highly improves the accuracy of the sentiment analysis model, achieving an accuracy of 84.09%. (2) The accuracy of financial early warning models is generally enhanced after adding sentiment indicators, among which the accuracy of the BP neural network model reached 95.78%. (3) Through clustering analysis, the evaluation models can productively divide the warning intervals, thereby bolstering the interpretability and applicability of early warning results. Therefore, we suggest that when establishing the financial early warning system, it's necessary to take public opinions into consideration. Aside from improving the early warning effect, it also can be used as a separate indicator for daily monitoring.

The contribution of renewable energy sector value added to the national economic development in Denmark: an empirical analysis

Abstract Examining the relationship between sustainability and economic development was covered by research over the past decades. The initial goal of the present research is to evaluate the contribution of renewable energy sector value added to the national economic development in Denmark. The research tasks of this study include assessment of carbon dioxide allowances and environmental taxation as well as the effect of other factors in terms of their contribution to the economic growth. The application of the regression analysis in order to examine the relationship between renewable energy industry and national economic development in Denmark shows that the increasing of renewable energy value added leads to the sizeable expansion of the gross domestic product. From the environmental-economic standpoint this is presumably the first research to make unambiguous conclusion, that proves significance of renewable energy value added for economic development in Denmark. Likewise, the results of the present study prove that expanding usage of carbon dioxide (CO₂) allowances in Denmark leads to quite considerable increase of the gross domestic product. Besides that, this study provided evidence regarding positive and statistically significant impact of the other factors on the economic growth.

Analysis of the Hydrogen‐Filling Process of Fixed Station and Skid Station Based on Different Working Conditions

Hydrogen energy is recognized as the most potential renewable energy in the 21st century due to the rising depletion of fossil fuels. Hydrogen refilling stations, as the infrastructure of hydrogen energy, are one of the key components of the entire hydrogen energy industry chain. Analyzing the filling process of hydrogen‐refueling stations (HRS) helps to promote the construction of HRSs. Thus, it promotes the construction of a clean, low‐carbon, safe, and efficient energy system and the high‐quality development of the hydrogen energy industry. In this article, gas cylinders with nominal working pressures of 35 and 70 MPa are filled using three different HRSs, such as single‐stage fixed station, three‐stage fixed station, and skid station. The filling end temperature, filling energy consumption, filling rate, and filling time during the filling process are compared and analyzed. In the results, it is shown that skid station has the advantages of lower filling end temperature and less energy consumption. Thus, in terms of reducing energy loss, the skid‐mounted HRSs can be promoted.

Economic level, environmental regulation, and new energy industry development.

Using panel data of 30 provinces and new energy (NE)-listed enterprises in China from 2011 to 2020, this paper uses basic model to research the impact of various environmental policies in China on NE industry development firstly. Then, using economic level as a threshold variable, a threshold model was constructed to research the impact of economic level on the relationship between environmental regulation and NE industry development. The research results show that firstly, various environmental policies in China have significantly promoted the development of the NE industry. This is mainly manifested in two aspects. One is environmental regulations significantly increased the NE industry output value and profit, the other is environmental regulations enhanced the NE industry growth potential. Secondly, the regional economic level has a significant impact on the relationship between environmental regulations and NE industry development. The promotion effect of environmental regulations on NE industry development depends on the regional economic level. When the regional economic level exceeds the threshold, the promoting effect of environmental regulations on NE industry development significantly increases. The reason is that a weak economic foundation will affect investment in the NE industry. Insufficient capital investment will inevitably seriously hinder the development of the NE industry. Thirdly, residents' education status, financial support, and NE industry agglomeration degree have a positive impact on the development of the NE industry, while population size has no significant impact on NE industry development.
