Comparative Analysis of PHP Frameworks for Development of Academic Information System Using Load and Stress Testing

There are many programming languages available for the developers to pick when they want to make a web services project such as Java JSP, Python, ASP.Net, PHP and many others. The reason that writer chose PHP as its research topic is that PHP is still being one of the most promising languages especially for developing web services. Several PHP Frameworks are now available on the internet promising that their framework can do better than others. Some popular PHP frameworks are Laravel, Symfony, CakePHP, Yii, and CodeIgniter. Performance is the most aspect to be concerned because of the market’s demands entailing them to do so. The next concern that developer would likely need to decide is whether to go with Pure PHP or to go with PHP Framework. To answer those concerns, this research has been conducted in which a module is taken from an academic information system and will be developed into three similar and equivalent web applications by using Laravel, CodeIgniter, and Pure PHP. The author's aim in conducting this research is to obtain more in-depth information regarding the use of the pure PHP programming language and several frameworks such as CodeIgniter and Laravel. There are many statements stating that using the PHP programming language is no longer feasible, even though in reality using PHP for developing web-based applications is still the choice of many programmers based on statistics from w3tech. The results of research conducted by the author show that the PHP programming language is still very reliable in handling load and stress tests. The pure PHP programming language provides slightly better performance results than the CodeIgniter and Laravel frameworks. Hence, the use of pure PHP or frameworks can be determined from the level of needs of the application development to be created.

Evaluasi Keberhasilan Siamik UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur Dengan Pendekatan Information System Success Model Delone And Mclean

In this journal article, the authors evaluate the effectiveness of the Sistem Informasi Akademik (SIAMIK) at UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur using the DeLone and McLean Information System Success Model. The main objective of this study is to assess how SIAMIK contributes to enhancing academic processes and improving overall institutional performance. The research approach employed is quantitative, employing a questionnaire as the data collection instrument. The respondents for this study were selected through stratified random sampling, utilizing the Slovin formula. The target population consisted of students using SIAMIK at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jawa Timur, with a total sample size of 117 students. The study employed SEM analysis techniques using SmartPLS 4 tools for data management. Out of the seven hypotheses tested, five hypotheses met the quality criteria. The findings of this research are expected to offer valuable insights and recommendations for the development of academic information systems not only at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jawa Timur but also in other educational institutions.

The development of academic information system (case study: Santa Maria 3 Malang kindergarten school)

Kindergarten Santa Maria 3 Malang uses manual performance with excel in its current operations, so it is constrained by data that is not the same because it uses a non-centralized file, formulas, or formulas to generate values that are often deleted. Academic applications are needed to reduce the time to adapt to the grading system and assist teachers in improving student services outside of academics. The application is built on a website base that is responsive to the device used. So that it can be accessed at any time, besides that centralized data helps teachers in collecting or searching data quickly and precisely. The system is made and developed according to the directions and processes that exist in the Santa Maria 3 Kindergarten Malang environment. So that this journal will discuss more clearly the process of making an academic information system for Santa Maria 3 Kindergarten Malang.

Development of academic information system using webassembly technology

The Academic Information System (in Indonesian often abbreviated as SIAKAD) is a system developed to manage student data that aims at facilitating online academic administration activities. It aims to provide academic information services in the form of web applications, where teachers can independently create student academic reports to synchronize data into the DAPODIK system, a primary education data system, and develop academic information systems using web assembly according to user experience (UX) and developer experience (DX). The research method consists of field studies and literature related to web assembly, primary education data (DAPODIK), and the Academic Information System (SIAKAD). This information system and database were built using the Convention Over Configuration paradigm. The design phase used a prototyping model to graphically represent the system workflow and used an experimental research approach. Moreover, the study used an integrated modeling language (UML), and a Database Management System using PostgreSQL, and alpha testing for model testing. The Client Application was built using the C# programming language for users to generate student academic reports every semester. Processing data transactions using web assembly took less time than the traditional web, which was less than 300 milliseconds.

Arsitektur Sistem Informasi Akademik Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Menggunakan EAP

Universities in Indonesia already have academic information systems. This university in developing its academic information system is carried out individually according to conditions and needs. Currently there are no guidelines in providing direction for the planning, development, implementation and service of academic information systems based on information and communication technology in universities. In addition to this, it is based on the planning and development of an academic information system which is what will be planned and developed and how its development guidelines are not yet available. The purpose of this study is to provide guidance in building academic information systems at private universities that can be applied in South Sumatra Province. This goal needs to be done because in general the academic information system business processes and services as well as the need for information in each university have in common namely the acceptance of new students, academic management and academic release. The result of the research is an academic information system architecture as a guideline in planning the development of an academic information system according to the conditions of private universities in South Sumatra Province. This study uses the EAP method with the steps of activities including planning initiation, business modeling and survey of current institutions, systems and technologies, data architecture and application architecture. The results of this study are a guide in building a system in the form of an academic information system architecture that can be applied to private universities in Indonesia especially South Sumatra Province.This study uses the EAP / Enterprise Architecture Planning method with activity steps including planning initiation, business modeling and institutional surveys, current systems and technology, data architecture and application architecture.

Integration of Zachman Framework and TOGAF ADM on Academic Information Systems Modeling

Zachman Framework (ZF) and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) are Architecture Frameworks often used in Architecture Enterprise's implementation. Each side of the two architecture Frameworks has advantages and disadvantages. Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Informatika dan Komputer Muhammadiyah Paguyangan Brebes (STMIK MPB) is a new university established on April 28, 2017; STMIK MPB as a new university has no plans in building an information system. The research will select the parts that exist in the ZF and TOGAF methodologies. The two methods will be combined and compiled to be applied to the Academic Information System modeling or blended methods. These research results are architectural blueprints that can be used as a reference in the development of academic information systems.

Evaluasi Keberhasilan Sistem Informasi Akademik dengan Pendekatan Model DeLone dan McLean

Development of academic management needs will increasingly complex, therefore the development of academic information systems must be oriented to user satisfaction as a way to measure the success of the information system. This study aims to analyze the performance of the quality of academic information systems (SIAKAD) and analyze the factors that influence the use, user satisfaction and net benefits of SIAKAD at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The respondents used in this study consisted of three groups totaling 400 people. The model used in this research is the information system success model from DeLone and McLean. Descriptive analysis is used to explain respondents' perceptions and evaluations of the successful implementation of SIAKAD. SEM PLS analysis is used to analyze the factors that influence the successful implementation of SIAKAD at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. SIAKAD users rated success at the semantic level and technical level included in the good category, while the success at the effectiveness level was still in the good enough category. Hypothesis testing results indicate that the quality of information system quality and service quality has a significant positive effect on the use and satisfaction of users, the use of a significant positive effect on user satisfaction, and the use and satisfaction of users has a positive and significant effect on the net benefits of SIAKAD.

ENGEMBANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI AKADEMIK BERBASIS WEB PADA SMAN 1 KUPANG

Sistem Informasi adalah suatu kegiatan dari prosedur-prosedur yang diorganisasikan, yang bilamana dieksekusi akan menghasilkan informasi . Pengembangan sistem infromasi akademik di SMAN 1 KUPANG dikarenakan sistem yang lama hanya sebatas web profil dan belum mendukung dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Sistem informasi ini diharapkan dapat menunjang kegiatan pendidikan yaitu dalam hal pengolahan data sehingga memudahkan dalam penyajian informasi sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunkan bahasa pemograman PHP 5.6.30 dan HTML untuk penyimpanan menggunakan mysql 10.1.21. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua pengujian, pengujian sistem menggunakan tools WAPT dan pengujian kuesioner dengan biverate person. Pengujian sistem terdapat 3 bagian yaitu performance testing, stress testing dan volume testing, Hasil dari pengujian performance testing 164 perkbit/s dan stress testing diantara range tingkat 2 sampai 31. Pengujian kuesioner terdapat 4 kirteria untuk melihat keberhasilan dari sistem yang di kembangkan, 4 kriteria tersebut yaitu interface, kecepatan, manfaat dan kemudahan dari sistem. Hasil dari pengujian kuesioner korelasi antara interface dan kemudahan sebesar 67.6%, interface dan manfaat sistem sebesar 58,6% dan korelasi antara interface dan kecepatan sistem sebesar 62.1%.

DESIGN OF WEB BASED ACADEMIC INFORMATION SYSTEM IN MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH NURUL FALAH DEPOK

The Covid-19 pandemic requires adaptation to the New Normal in its application. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Falah Depok designed a web-based application to bridge this so that information about students reaches their parents without having to come to school. With internet media intermediaries, of course, the process of delivering information will be faster, the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Model in the development of academic information systems that the author uses in designing a good system is the Waterfall model. The proposed database design is Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and Logical Record Structure (LRS), for system design using Unified Modeling Language (UML). Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews and literature study. With the design of a web-based academic information system at MI Nurul Falah, it is hoped that the process of delivering information will be more effective and efficient, so that school residents, especially students and teachers, can find out the information available anytime and anywhere. The development of technology is very fast and in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is hoped that the use of this application will be one of the solutions in helping schools to convey the assessment of students at Nurul Falah Ibtidaiyah Madrasah.

Smart SIAKAD Android based using RecyclerView

The Academic Information System (SIAKAD) android-based is an information system that can facilitate students and prospective students in obtaining information about the University and academics through mobile devices. The stages of study used waterfall method consisting of analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance. This application is made using the RecyclerView method in conducting the application development of academic information systems and conducting tests such as Whitebox, blackbox, test devices and UI respondents. The results from the test of the whitebox, the total number of Cyclomatic Complex city (cc) amounted to 11, the Region of 15 and the independent Path of 11. The trial of the blacblox got the result that the app is already able to provide information to your existing needs. The tests of testing whether the function and appearance of the app is feasible to use and for a device trial it is obtained the average app access time of 45 seconds and the visual application display 100%. The others trial is conduct with respondents as many as 23 respondents by testing the application has been running well with the results 52.2% agreed, 39.1% very agreed and 8.7% disagree. Further of development can be directed to the addition of other features that don't exist yet. In addition, it can also be developed for mobile users in addition to Android operating systems such as iOS.

PENGEMBANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI AKADEMIK BERBASIS WEB SEBAGAI SISTEM PENGOLAHAN NILAI SISWA DI SMK NEGERI 1 KUDUS

This research aims to produce an information system of grade processing to allow the teacher in manage a report card of student grade. This information system is intended for use in vocational high school. This information system is web based, so it can be accessed by teacher to manage grades and students can see the result of their study. Method of this research is research and development (R&D) that implemented in SMK Negeri 1 Kudus. The data collection techniques are interview, quesioner and documentation. The Development of Academic Information System as a Web Based on Processing System of Student Grade in SMK Negeri 1 Kudus carried out with five stages : (1) Communication is discussions between researchers with the school about developing the system, (2) Planning is the planning needs of the functional, software and hardware requirements of the system are developed, (3) Modeling is the stage of system design that focuses on data processing. This phrase begins with the making of Usecase Diagram, Flowchart, DFD (Data Flow Diagram), ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram), Design of data base tables and their relationships and manufacturing design of interface system, (4) Construction is the stage where the design has been created, implemeted into the code (programme), (5) Deployment is the testing phrase to SMK to get feedback on the feasibility and development of a system which further. The final value of this research is 93,1% from expert system, 85,3% from the teacher and administration staff and 82.,4 % from the students, so it means that the system is highly feasible to be used.

PEMODELAN BASIS DATA AKADEMIK UNIVERSITAS XYZ MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN OBJEK

Penggunaan Query Optimization Pada Sistem Informasi Akademik Untuk Penjadwalan Mata Kuliah Dan Pengisian Krs (Kartu Rencana Studi) Pada Universitas Matana

<p><span style="font-size: medium;">The classic problem that is quite common and often encountered in almost all university in Indonesia is at the time of preparation of the list of subjects that are routinely done at every semester turn, either the odd semester or even semester for filling the Study Plan Card (KRS) done by every students. The constraints that caused the problem to occur were due to the limited factor of the classroom (theoretical class and lab lab), the ratio factor of the number of lecturers to the students taking the course and then the lecturer availability factor that could teach for each course offered by every course available at Matana University. Because of the factors that make the list of courses along with the schedule of the day and time becomes complicated and not easy to do, because the preparation of the optimal course schedule is to avoid the occurrence of incompatibility or clash between the schedule of 1 course with other courses, then avoid using the same room in the same day and time as the same lecturer or with different lecturers. Based on these matters, the management of University of Matana through Senate meeting decided to arrange planning for the development of Academic Information System (SIAKAD) using SQL Optimization method that can be used to assist the smoothness of lecturing process and academic and administration service activities at Matana University.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span><span style="font-size: medium;">Key words<strong>:</strong>courses scheduling, KRS, SQL Optimization, Academic Information Systems</span></p>

Active Database System Approach and Rule Based in the Development of Academic Information System

Active database system is a database system which is capable of generating a certain action automatically if it detects an event that meets certain conditions. The existence of Event Condition Action (ECA) rules and functional components such as triggers, stored procedures, and stored functions that are owned by active database system make the database system has the ability to automatically monitor input and output data. Separation of ECA rules components in the database with the application program will also facilitate the development of information systems. This research applies active database system in academic information system, so that academic business rules can be planted in database software and be able to produce the right solution automatically. The addition of active database system components to the database software makes procedures such as subject distribution, study plans, academic leave, values, thesis defense and other processes can be monitored by the system automatically. This can be done because between applications and databases use the model driven approach parameters to communicate with each other. The results of this research prove that a database is not only has function as a container of data, but can control the information system actively, this is caused by the logic of programs that are generally planted in the application layer that can be moved and planted in the database software.

PENERAPAN SISTEM INFORMASI AKADEMIK (SIA) SEBAGAI UPAYA PENINGKATAN EFEKTIFITAS DAN EFISIENSI PENGELOLAAN AKADEMIK SEKOLAH

Information Technology has provided an important role as a medium of information and communication in the field of education, one of them in School Academic Management. Implementation of Academic Information System as one way to increase effectiveness and efficiency of academic management include new student enrollment, student and teacher data management, management of lesson schedule, and student value processing. Academic Information System developed as an information service in the form of data related to academic data. In the development of Academic Information System, the methodology that can be used is Waterfall methodology which consists of several stages, among others: 1)Planing stage that is discussing the planning of the system to be developed, 2)Stage Analysis is to analyze the running system and the analysis of functional and non functional needs, 3)Design stage that is designing and designing system, and 4)Implementation Phase that is production of application and testing.The results showed that Academic Information System can improve the effectiveness and Efficiency of School Academic Management. In terms of effectiveness, academic information system can be used to improve communication and organize academic data accurately and accurately, while in terms of efficiency, academic information system can accelerate the academic management process, reduce operational costs (low cost and paper less) and reduce human error in processing student value

Database Security Model in the Academic Information System

Database plays an important role on both web-based or desktop based academic information system (AIS) in Indonesian higher education institutions (HEI). Nowadays webbased AIS dominates in Indonesian HEI, almost every HEI uses web-based AIS with relational database management system (RDBMS) as database software. Relational database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL are familiarly used as database management system in the AIS. There are many researches on development of AIS in HEI but none of them is discussing database security and integrity. This research will perform the analysis of database security model that could be used in AIS such as table constraints, table relationships and role-based access control (RBAC).

The Analysis of Academic Information System Design of IPDC Dili - Timor Leste by using EAP Approach

of better information services in an educational institution is necessary for global competition. Information technology can be used to solve the competition problem. One of the roles of technology that can be felt is easy of store, organize and carry out a variety of data collection. Academic information system specifically designed to meet the needs of university in the field of administrative and academic. This paper discusses information technology that can be applied in universities, especially in Instituto Professional de Canossa (IPDC). Analysis of the design of academic information system at the Instituto Professional de Canossa (IPDC) is done by using the approach of Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP). The results obtained are the blueprints of architectural planning required in IPDC. This is Includes model data architecture, application architecture and technology architecture. One of the priorities that really need to be implemented is the academic Information System. The benefits of this analysis is to produce the design of academic information system that can be used as a basis or foundation for the development of academic information system at IPDC so can not be separated from the universities purpose and does not eliminate the integration between business units in the IPDC . Implementation of application design can be used as a center of academic information services in IPDC.

Perancangan Sistem Informasi Akademis Perguruan Tinggi\ Menggunakan Diagram Use Case dan Rich Picture

This research is a continuation of previous research, which is a development of academic information systems for higher education with database reporting of EPSBED to DIKTI. Researchers will continue to develop the design using use case diagrams and rich picture diagrams. The design is useful to help the team of developers in building the application especially in coding process. The method used is studying the results of previous research then developing the design of use case diagrams and finally making the rich picture diagrams. The results of this research is a process design of a university in use case diagrams and rich picture diagrams. This research found that an academic information systems can be designed with use case diagrams and rich picture diagrams to facilitate coding process. This design is expected to be developed into a ready-use application that can be utilized in universities.

마음챙김 관점에서 본 대학 정보화 프로젝트

대학은 지속가능성을 확보하기 위해 대학 정보화에 꾸준히 투자하고 있고, 이러한 노력 덕분에 학생들이나 교직원들은 언제 어디서나 대학의 정보시스템에 접속하여 효율적으로 업무를 처리할 수 있게 되었다. 최근 대학은 정보기술 수요 환경의 변화에 대응하여 다양한 서비스를 제공하기 위해 대학 행정 정보화 프로젝트에서 나서고 있다. 그 중 일부 대학은 계획한 성과를 달성하였지만, 새롭게 개발원 시스템의 이용을 중단하여야 할 것인가를 고민주중인 대학도 있다. 대학 정보화는 어느 정도의 실패 요인을 안고 출발하기 마련이다. 예측하지 못한 사태로 인해 난관에 봉착하기도 하고, 구성원물의 지혜를 모아 문제를 슬기롭게 극복하기도 한다. 마음챙김 이론은 이러한 시스템 개발 및 운영 과정을 심도있게 살펴볼 수 있는 관점을 제공한다. 본 연구는 대학 행정 정보시스템 개발 프로젝트 사례를 마음챙김 관점에서 분석하고, 그 파급효과와 시사점 등을 정리하였다. Universities have been investing in their information systems to keep their management functions working efficiently and effectively. Thanks to these efforts, faculty members and other university employees can perform their tasks efficiently almost anywhere and anytime. Several universities embarked upon information systems projects to take advantage of emerging information technologies in their administration and management. Only a limited number of universities have achieved their objectives; some others have been even tinkering with the idea of abandoning their newly developed academic information systems. The development of academic information systems often start with a relatively high risk of system failure. Sometimes, these systems encounter unforeseen obstacles or fail in systems development. These universities with problems also can overcome these issues by collecting their wisdom. The mindfulness theory is suitable for dealing with implementing academic information systems. This research analyzes an academic information systems development case from a mindfulness perspective, and also addresses its research implications and theoretical contributions.

The Information Systems Academic Discipline in New Zealand

This paper examines the background and development of academic information systems as a field of teaching and research in universities in New Zealand, from its roots in the late 1970s until the present time. Interviews were held with key informants within the information systems departments in every university in the country, as well as one polytechnic institution which has recently applied for university status. Based on the interview data along with other data drawn from the universities’ Web sites and elsewhere, as well as the personal knowledge of the authors, individual case studies of each institution were prepared and validated by the key informants. The paper begins with an overview analysis of the current situation and recent past, with a special emphasis on the student enrolment issue. The information systems discipline is reviewed across the nine institutions through a detailed cross-case analysis including a number of summary tables comparing various statistics across all New Zealand institutions. The cross-case analysis addresses issues such as the role of international students in IS, the comparative location of IS in the various institutions, and the overall “nature” of IS across the country. The results of this study and analysis provide a unique perspective on the past, present, and future of academic information systems in New Zealand.
