Developing Training Courses about Spiritual Leadership in Higher Education in Thailand: Critical Review

Purpose: Spiritual leadership launched into a significant topic in higher education globally; Thailand also desires to make positive social change sustainably in the World, the national higher education system is friendly identifying to a kind of leadership with spiritual growth, positive transformation, sustainability; however, the spiritual leadership is such one the higher education institutions in Thailand would like to search. Method: The study was a critical review; in literature searching, there were keywords such as spiritual leadership, higher education, curriculum, and Thailand. Then, the researcher synthesizes the pieces of literature to develop the critical reviews under compared analysis (diverse perspectives, advantages, and disadvantages); however, all documental resources were searched from qualified engines, such as Google Scholar, Research Gate, and online libraries. Results: The critical review found concepts of spiritual leadership with different perspectives in religion, business and higher education; then, the critical review also briefly introduced higher education in Thailand and why its higher education needs spiritual leadership and related training courses; however, the critical review disclosed the six types of training curriculums in developing spiritual leadership and general advantages and disadvantages in the training courses; finally, the researcher provided potential implications according to the major findings in the literature review, it may contribute practical suggestions to develop spiritual leadership in higher education in Thailand. Regarding the above necessary for developing spiritual leadership in higher education in Thailand, the researcher aimed to conduct a critical review, to fiful related theories in spiritual leadership concepts, what types of curriculums can assist spiritual leadership, what advantages and disadvantages in the curriculums, and why spiritual leadership suitably develop in Thailand. Conclusion: In conclusion, the study disclosed spiritual leadership there were different perspectives on its concepts; however, spiritual leadership in higher education refined as leadership encourages personal growth, positive transformation, and sustainability for individuals; then, the study found six types of training curriculums suitable for developing spiritual leadership in higher education in Thailand; according to Thailand's details in higher education and major findings, the researcher suggested potential implications to higher education institutions in Thailand for developing spiritual leadership, such as organizing the six curriculums into students.

Alignment of vocational education curricula with job requirements in industrial sector: Analysis study

Many technical and vocational education institutions suffer from weak outcomes represented in qualifying their graduates to keep pace with the requirements of the industrial sector, and the negative impact on employment rates. This research has presented a way to link the training programs and curricula with the requirements of the industrial sector for the category of technicians and plant operators. By verifying the announced technical requirements for the jobs of technicians and plant operators in industrial companies with the outputs of courses and training programs in technical and vocational education institutions, as an example of this in the Jubail Technical Institute. In this article, a sample of (50) job advertisements for jobs of technicians and plant operators were used in order to extract the most required important technical skills. For this purpose, several tools and methods were used, such as text mining using the program in https://voyant-tools.org, in addition to Excel. Critical to Quality Tree was also used to clarify the importance of the technical skills required by the industrial sector. In addition, the cause and effect matrix which was used to link and evaluate the impact of training courses on the required technical skills. The article reached specific results, including extracting three of the most important skills required and declared for jobs in the technicians and plant operators and linking them with the training courses in the training program for plant operators. The impact of each training course on the required skills in the labor market, which facilitates the work of developing training courses to keep pace with the continuous improvement in the requirements of the labor markets for skills of the announced jobs.

Living with a Foggy Future: Experiences of Caregivers of Hemodialysis Patients

Background: Caregivers of hemodialysis patients experience several daily challenges due to the specific condition of their patients. It is necessary to study the challenges of this group to reduce the adverse effects on the caregivers and the patients. Accordingly, the present study aimed to describe the caregivers’ lived experiences of caring for hemodialysis patients. Methods: This was a qualitative study conducted using a phenomenological approach. The participants were 21 caregivers of hemodialysis patients from three hemodialysis centers in Qazvin, Iran who were selected using purposive and snowball sampling. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi’s seven-step method. Results: A total of 107 primary codes, 15 subcategories, 7 categories, and 3 main themes were extracted from the analysis of the interviews. The main themes included caregiver as the central pillar, fear of the foggy future, and the heavy burden of being judged by others. Conclusion: Caring for patients with hemodialysis constantly imposes many challenges for caregivers. The managers of hospitals and hemodialysis clinics can prevent the severe consequences experienced by caregivers and patients by planning and implementing individual development training courses and effective policies to enable caregivers.

Examining the influence of item exposure and retrieval practice effects on test performance in a large‐scale workforce development training programme

AbstractMany workforce development training programmes use learning gains as a measure of programme effectiveness. However, research on K‐12 education suggests that posttest scores may be influenced by pretesting effects. Pretesting may improve posttest performance by giving learners preknowledge of posttest content. Alternatively, pretesting may enhance learning via the retrieval practice effect. Cross‐classified analysis was used to detect pretesting effects in archival data from a large‐scale agriculture workforce development programme. Data included scores from 14,302 learners, 352 trainers and 261 training centres. Results indicated that pretesting led to higher scores on posttests. Follow‐up logistic regression analyses found no effect for time lag between pretest and posttest. In addition, pretested learners did not perform better on items that were included on both forms, suggesting that score differences were due to retrieval practice effects rather than preknowledge of posttest content. These results provide evidence that pretesting may enhance learning in large‐scale workforce development training courses.

Mathematical modeling of food production technological processes in a computer training complex for operator education

A computer training complex (CTC) structure has been designed for training food production operators, comprising interconnected subsystems generating output parameters. This CTC structure enables the configuration and storage of knowledge on specific technological processes, facilitating the customization of exercises by instructors. Individualized exercises are generated for students to perform in a virtual production environment, utilizing computer programs, tablets, smartphones, or simulated production equipment, including VR/AR technologies. During exercises, student actions are automatically recorded, and a quantitative assessment is provided based on standards, forming a comprehensive evaluation. A mathematical model, represented by a Markov transition graph, captures various states of the virtual production environment during simulated processes at the CTC. This model serves as the basis for constructing specific technological process models in the food industry, tailored to CTC hardware, software, and training methodologies. The methodology presented streamlines the development of training courses for CTC exercises, enhancing personnel knowledge and skills in food production. By utilizing these models, methods, and algorithms, CTCs can be tailored for training operators in diverse food production sectors. The approach outlined simplifies course creation, ensuring personnel development at the desired proficiency level through exercise quality assessment algorithms.

TPACK in In-service Secondary Education Teachers: A Systematic Review of the Literature

The TPACK model is an essential framework for appropriately integrating technology in the classroom. The present study aimed to categorize and establish the main research findings around TPACK between 2017 and 2022, specifically in practicing teachers at the secondary education level. A systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA statement was conducted. The search for papers was carried out in the Scopus, Web of Science, Sage Journal, and SciELO databases in September 2022. 37 articles were selected for review. The review of the studies made it possible to establish that the papers were mainly grouped into two categories: the first related to teachers' perception of TPACK, which includes research with self-perception questionnaires, case studies and relationships of self-perception with other variables such as barriers to technology integration in the classroom, pedagogical beliefs, and online education; and the second to developing training courses based on TPACK, complemented with self-perception questionnaires in the form of pretest-posts, classroom observations, and interviews. The results of the first category are dissimilar since TPACK levels differ from one study to another in variables such as gender and teaching experience. From the second, it is established that teacher professional development courses favor improving technological integration in the classroom.

Investigating the Barriers to EFL Teachers’ Professional Development in Erbil High Schools

The present study entitled, ‘’ Investigating the Barriers to EFL Teachers’ Professional Development in Erbil High Schools”, aims at investigating the barriers to English Language teachers’ professional development in the city Centre of Erbil. To achieve the aims of the study, a questionnaire has been constructed to investigate the barriers to professional development. The tool of the study was exposed to some experts as jury members in the fields of English language, linguistics, and applied linguistics to achieve its validity.The sample of the study is 100 English Language teachers in public high schools. The data was analyzed after being statistically computed by employing SPSS programme to show Percentage, the Mean, and the Standard Deviation of the items of the questionnaire. The findings of this study reveal that there are some outstanding barriers that prevent English Language teachers from participating in professional development activities or training courses. The barriers are: (poor internet infrastructure and teachers’ illiteracy with modern technological tools, the ineffectiveness of teachers’ performance appraisal system, a bad design of professional development programmes, Training venues, financial constraints, teachers’ demotivation, the lack of qualified and professional English language trainers, English language teachers’ excessive workload, administrative routines, personal problems (family problems) and poor economic conditions, teachers’ beliefs and attitudes towards the professionalism of their performance, the effects of colleagues. The study also shows that the variables such as gender, age, marital status, qualification, years of teaching, and teaching hours per week have an impact on teachers’ participation in career-development activities. The contribution of this study can help other researchers in conducting further studies to investigate the barriers that influence teachers’ participation in profession-related activities or training courses among public high school English language teachers. It also helps the education decision makers to plan effective professional development programmes

Prevalence and risk factors of burnout among community pharmacists in Northeast region of Bulgaria - a pilot study

Background: Burnout is described as an emotional, mental and physical exhaustion observed in healthy people and directly related to their professional context. The objective is to study the level of burnout among community pharmacists and to identify the workplace factors affecting it. Materials and methods: Using a questionnaire, specifically designed by the authors of the study, an anonymous survey was conducted in the region of Varna, as the largest region of Northeastern Bulgaria. The questionnaire contains questions about the demographic characteristics; a standardised burnout measure tool (MBI-HSS-MP), and questions regarding the specifics of the work environment. According to MBI-HSS-MP, burnout is associated with high levels of emotional exhaustion (EE) and depersonalisation (DP) and low level of personal accomplishment (PA). Results: The participants in the pilot study were 127 masters of pharmacy. Regarding individual factors, a statistically significant relationship was found between age and the scales emotional exhaustion EE (p = 0.012), depersonalisation DP (0.028) and personal accomplishment PA (p = 0.028). Most susceptible to ЕЕ (p = 0.014) and DP (p = 0.008) were the age group 25–45 years while most satisfied with their PA were in the age group 46–55 years (p = 0.016). From the organisational factors, the large number of patients had the greatest impact on burnout (DP р = 0.000 /ЕЕ р = 0.006). The other key factors for burnout were an insufficient number of pharmacy staff, a heavy administrative burden and a wide range of medicinal products. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop training courses for young professionals to introduce them gradually into the work process and build up skills for effectively coping with stress. Proposals need to be made for reducing the administrative burden of pharmacists and maintaining staffing levels that are adequate to the patient flow and expanding the capabilities of The Specialised Electronic System for Tracing and Analysis System of Medicinal Products (SETASMP).

Professional facilitator: Development of training courses to enhance the facilitator technique for Thai community enterprises through online media

This study aims to develop a training course to enhance the techniques of a facilitator for Thai community enterprises using online media. The author collected data from sixty participants from Thai community enterprises in two sub-districts using cluster random sampling. Three research instruments, namely, training courses, knowledge tests and skill assessment forms were used for data collection. The data was analysed using statistics such as mean (X), standard deviation (SD), t- test dependent and one-sample t-test. The ultimate contribution of this research is to enhance the economic stability of community enterprises for sustainability and self-reliance according to Thailand’s government strategic plans and national policy.

Pricing by Using Target Cost Approach: A Field Study in the Sector of Saudian “Pharmaceutical Industry”

The pricing decision is considered one of the most important managerial decisions, due to its effect on the profitability for the short and long terms, so developing of cost systems becomes a vital matter, should be dealt with is in objectivity and scientifically to achieve the optimum decisions in this field. The increasing importance of this research study that it’s mentioned one of the modern pricing methods, known as the formal objectively cost in pricing. The study came with the aim to define and clear the reality of used price mechanism style in the field of saudy pharmaceutical industry and how much relevant or convenience to the current developments and improvements in the multiform of competitions, then rising high the used pricing methods through suggesting modern pricing formal depending on fierce price competition in the market as abase for pricing decision-making. Both hypotheses in the research study were examined in the mentioned field due to the present big and high competition. The practical data of the study have been collected through the direct watch and personal conversation. In addition to that we also design a questionnaire as well as we applied the analytical study style. The study came out with the following main results: showing main factors effecting pricing decisions and these are: customers, competitors, and cost; adopting traditional pricing methods within globalization and free trading which unable the competition within the common price in the competitive markets; target cost approach which represents a pricing method, planning profit system, and cost management in the competitive environment. The main recommendations of the study are: developing cost systems in order to improve decision making, adopting target cost approach in pricing in order to improve decisions related to pricing. The companies related to this study must create programs, and specialized developed training courses in pricing to splay its employees with the up-dates in this field.

Holistic Health as a Twenty-First-Century Military Strategy: Stoic Philosophy and Spiritual Fitness for Optimizing Warfighter Readiness

This article serves as a response to the issues addressed in the U.S. Marine Corps’ Marine Administrative Message (MARADMIN) 677/21, FY-22 Professional Development Training Course for Chaplains and Religious Program Specialists (2021); All Marine Corps Activities (ALMAR) 033/16, Spiritual Fitness (2016); and ALMAR 027/20, Resiliency and Spiritual Fitness (2020), all of which focus on an understanding of spiritual fitness. The central theme is that Stoic philosophy and spirituality, to specifically acknowledge and include religion, are synergistic and complementary strengthening factors additive to building character, instilling core values, and optimizing warfighter readiness. This article leverages extensive clinical evidence and argues that Stoicism and spiritual fitness must be emphasized more intentionally, robustly, and systematically by leaders at all levels in the U.S. Department of the Navy to optimize warfighter readiness and attain a military advantage over the United States’ adversaries in the twenty-first century and beyond.

Development of a Solution for Mortality and Injury Problems among Juvenile Using Motorcycles in Muang District, Nakhon Nayok

This study aimed to develop a curriculum for road safety education for juveniles using motorcycles, to implement the road safety education curriculum using a website for a learning center on solutions for mortality and injury, and to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the road safety education curriculum for juveniles who use motorcycles in educational institutions in Nakhon Nayok province. The study found that assessing the effectiveness of implementing the road safety education curriculum for youngsters who use motorcycles at academic institutions in Nakhon Nayok province led to the development of the potential of leading teachers in the province. The effectiveness of the curriculum was evaluated regarding knowledge development and attitude towards safety among school teacher groups. A comparison was made on road safety knowledge based on the developed curriculum among 31 teachers (21 males and ten females) who underwent training before and after the implementation. The statistical method used was the dependent t-test. Most (74.2%) had a driver’s license, and most (90%) had experience teaching students about safety. The results of the evaluation of the effectiveness of the test on knowledge about road safety according to the developed training course for teachers, using a dependent t-test to test the research hypothesis, showed a statistically significant difference at the .05 level (p=.00, t=11.32). The average knowledge score after training was higher than before training. Before the training, the average score was 13.4, and after the training, the average score was 24.0. The evaluation result of the website for a learning center on solutions for mortality and injury among juveniles who use motorcycles was overall at the highest level (x ̅=4.43, S.D. = 0.45).

Ambiguity in the Russian terminology of the energy industry

This article is devoted to the study of the formation and characteristics of ambiguous (polysemous) words in modern Russian terminology of the energy industry. In this article formation and development of terminology in Russia, the role of terminology in the XX and XXI centuries, the concept of terms and terminology in modern Russian linguistics, and the essence of polysemous terms in the energy industry are considered. This study is carried out by the lexico-semantic approach, observation, collecting and analysis of data. As the result of the collected data analysis, it can be concluded that 1) a number of ambiguous (polysemous) terms is found in the terminology of the energy industry; 2) those terms are widely used in different scientific texts, discourses and research; 3) some of them can be found with the similar or different meanings in various scientific fields; 4) the intended meaning of a polysemous term can be identified according to the context. The results of this article can be used in teaching and learning the Russian language as a native or a foreign language, in the development of training courses for professional communications, for translation of scientific texts and in the creation of dictionaries.

Valentin Petrovich Gritskevich: Scientist, teacher, personality

The article is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding scientist and talented teacher Valentin Petrovich Gritskevich, candidate of medical sciences, doctor of cultural studies, professor, member of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, Union of Belarusian Writers, honorary member of the Public Association “International Association of Belarusians”, organizer and chairman of the Belarusian Public and Cultural Association in St. Petersburg (since 1989) and many others. He had three higher educations. He worked as a doctor in Uzlyany, Minsk, Leningrad. Since 1971 — Senior Researcher at the Military Medical Museum of the USSR Ministry of Defense. He taught at the Department of History of the Leningrad State Institute of Culture, since 1988 — Associate Professor, and since 2003 Professor of the Department of Museum Studies. He is the author of more than 300 scientific papers. The article emphasizes the extensive scientific heritage of the scientist has not yet received a deep and comprehensive understanding. No less significant are the achievements of V.P.Gritskevich as a teacher and mentor, who was at the origin of the creation of one of the first departments of museology in Russia and who made a personal contribution to the development of training courses, including textbooks on the history of museum work, source studies, which are still used by students. The merits of the scientist in the formation of the scientific school of historical museology are especially significant. The authors of the article, as colleagues who personally knew V.P.Gritskevich for 25 years of his work at the Department of Museology and Cultural Heritage of St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, note also the high moral qualities and principles of the unique personality of a scientist and teacher.

USE OF DISTANCE LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES IN THE MODERN EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Distance learning is currently a common practice in the organization of the educational process. For this, various software products tested during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020-2021 and martial law in Ukraine in 2022 are used. At the same time, studies of the use of modern distance technologies in the educational process are devoted to conceptual aspects of the organization of education or are based on various software products. All of the above requires the definition of effective remote technologies for solving various tasks of educational activities in domestic higher educational institutions. The purpose of the work is to study the software products used in the educational process of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University, from the point of view of optimization of scientific and educational activities. The article summarizes the practice of using IT technologies at Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University since its relocation in 2014. This made it possible to determine the advantages and disadvantages of modern use for the organization of the educational process, joint activities, including scientific and educational, platform Moodle, IT services Microsoft Office-365, as well as highlight the most popular services in the academic space. It is noted that Google services today are a strong competitor to Microsoft’s IT services, in particular, due to their quality, variety and free of charge. It was established that the availability of practical skills for working in Google Classroom among students requires mastery of this tool for teachers of higher educational institutions in order to make a further decision regarding the effectiveness of solving educational tasks. According to the results of the research, the necessity of combining various IT services, as well as constant training of the participants of the educational process in the skills of their use, was established. The direction of further research is the problem of developing training courses using various distance learning IT services.

The boundaries between personal life and professional role: a proposal to apply some principles of the Structural Family Therapy by Salvador Minuchin to teachers

ABSTRACT The aim of the present study was to apply some principles of the Structural Family Therapy by Salvador Minuchin to teachers. Specifically, we considered the teacher as a system consisting of two communicating subsystems – one pertaining to personal characteristics and skills, and one pertaining to characteristics and skills related to the professional role – and we explored the boundaries between personal life and professional role, proposing the existence of three types of boundaries that are in line with the original classification by Minuchin: rigid, diffuse, and clear. Moreover, through a semi-structured interview, we conducted an initial empirical investigation about the perception and the representation of the boundaries between personal life and professional role in a sample of 9 kindergarten, primary, and middle school teachers (M professional experience = 16.33 years, SD = 9.60 years). The emerged results, even if limited in number, encouraged the development of further dimensional assessment strategies, as well as the development of training courses on teachers’ emotional and relational competence in which they can reflect on the importance of clear boundaries that allow an adaptive exchange of information between personal and professional areas.

Effect of Competency Based Training Program on Nurses' Performance Regarding Endotracheal Tube Suction for Neonates on Mechanical Ventilator

Background: Clinical nursing competence is the capacity to apply care by integrating information, skills, attitude, beliefs, and experience. It reflects the nursing professional's feelings, ideas, and judgement. Aim: the study aimed to evaluate the effect of Competency Based Training Program on Nurses' Performance Regarding Endotracheal Tube Suction for Neonates on Mechanical Ventilator. Method: A quasi-experimental design was used to conduct the study at Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) and Surgical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit "SNICU" of Benha Specialized Pediatric Hospital. The study included 70 nurses who working in the previously mentioned setting. Tools: Researchers used five tools as; a structured interviewing questionnaire, an observational checklist, nurses' attitude questionnaire, Nurse Competence Scale, and nurses' opinion questionnaire. Results: Less than three quarters of studied nurses had good knowledge and the most of them had competent practice post competency-based training program. Also, the majority of nurses had positive attitude post competency-based training program and there was highly statistically significant difference in nurses' competence score pre and post competency-based training program. Conclusion: The implementation of the competency-based training program improved nurses' performance regarding endotracheal tube suction for neonates on mechanically ventilated. Recommendation: Develop periodic educational and training courses for nurses working at the neonatal intensive care units regarding care of endotracheal tube suction for neonates on mechanical ventilator. Further research should be done with large sample is recommended to ensure generalization of the results.

PEDAGOGICAL FORMATION OF STUDENTS' COGNITIVE ACTIVITY IN AN ADAPTIVE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

In modern education, the independent work of students is a necessary and important part of the educational process. Because it not only helps to consolidate the knowledge and skills acquired in practical courses but also contributes to the strengthening of cognitive activity. As a rule, one of the platforms for organizing independent work of students is an adaptive learning environment. The purpose of the study was to develop and implement a training course on the organization of independent work of students in an adaptive educational environment to increase the level of their cognitive activity. Research hypothesis: the level of cognitive activity of students increases when organizing independent work in an adaptive educational environment. By the purpose and hypothesis, the authors defined the objectives of the study: theoretical analysis of scientific literature, the study of the formation of cognitive activity of students, the study of the concepts of «pedagogical conditions» and «adaptive educational environment», diagnosis of the level of formation of cognitive activity of students; prepare students for independent work on the Moodle platform; analyze the results of the study. The proposed course included personalized adaptive learning. Second-year students of the specialty «Information Systems» of Aktobe Higher Polytechnic College in the course of mastering the subject «Mathematics» carry out training in this course. The statistics obtained indicate that the application of the developed training course in an adaptive personalized educational environment has a positive effect on increasing the level of cognitive activity of students. The data obtained by the authors can be used by teachers of other educational institutions in the process of forming the cognitive sphere of students.

Teachers' Perceptions Towards Professional Development Training Courses: Exploring the Effects on Teachers' Performance in the Saudi Context

One of the most important requirements in the field of English language education is the long-term sustainability of teacher professional development (ELT). As a result, investigating the potential impacts of PD on ELT teachers is an important area of study in this subject. By examining the effects of professional development on ELT instructors' performance, this study adds to the current corpus of research on professional development training courses. The research sheds light on the efficacy of teacher professional development in Saudi Arabia. This was accomplished by looking into teachers' perspectives of professional development techniques and challenges. An online survey was updated and administered with a sample of 115 male and female English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers for the objectives of this study. SPSS® was used to do statistical analysis on the survey's primary data. The comments of the teachers were described using descriptive statistics. Professional development has a great impact and effect on EFL Saudi instructors' performance, as well as a considerable beneficial impact on teachers' beliefs, practices, and students' learning, according to the findings of this study in response to the research question. The study offers pedagogical implications for EFL teachers in terms of professional development practices and skills that can help them enhance their teaching.
