Remote Pressure Water Valve Control System Based on PLC

Currently, valve operations use manual processes to safeguard water pressure and distribution to the Regional Water Company. Conventional systems are still used upon operations in opening and closing the valve. This method requires operators to rotate the valve by hand to maintain the distribution and water pressure's stability to the Regional Water Company. It would be more efficient if operators can maintain the distribution and water pressure stability without going to the location where the valve is located. A PLC and Android-based distribution valve remote control system design is planned to be produced from this research. Control commands are done via HMI display on Android to the PLC via PC and server to control the gearbox motor located on the valve. The pressure analysis shows that there are differences before the control system is installed. The pressure tends to be under 4 bar and is less stable. However, after the control system is installed, it tends to be more stable, between 4 bar and 4.5 bar. The data flow results show a difference in the flow before the control system is installed. The distributed flow tends to be below the number 180 l / s and is less stable. After installing the control system, the flow is more stable and increased from originally at an average of 144.4 l/s to 171.2 l/s, a difference of 26.8 l/s.

Design of Remote Control System for Smart Home Based on Unity and the Internet of Thing

In view of the problems of unintuitive operation and poor user experience in the human-computer interaction of smart homes, the article proposes the application of virtual reality technology on the basis of relevant theoretical analysis, based on unity development platform and smart home control center, a smart home control system based on virtual reality technology is designed and developed. The system is composed of client, cloud and device. The client realizes virtual roaming, real-time display of device status and remote control. The cloud realizes the functions of control command forwarding and data storage. The gateway is used to communicate with each home device and cloud to realize the functions of sending control commands and reporting device status data. The test shows that the system is novel and practical. Using virtual reality technology as a human-computer interaction interface for smart home control can give users an intuitive smart home control experience and improve the user’s experience.

Abstract In order to expedite the development of the control network, according to the newest fruition of the internet, the hardware and software of the system is designed. Since the resource of the sever in embedded remote control system is limited, an approach is presented which use CGI and XML technology to realize remote monitoring computer and embedded Web server for dynamic interaction. Combined with the basic requirements of embedded remote control system, the idea of component design is proposed, the major components of system functions are defined. According to the system functional requirement, the software is designed and realized. The practice prove, the scheme realize the remote control of the transmitter by the small cost. And the system is convenient and safe. The definite reference value is offered to the offspring complex remote control system.

Brain-Machine Interface-Based Rat-Robot Behavior Control.

Brain-machine interface (BMI) provides a bidirectional pathway between the brain and external facilities. The machine-to-brain pathway makes it possible to send artificial information back into the biological brain, interfering neural activities and generating sensations. The idea of the BMI-assisted bio-robotic animal system is accomplished by stimulations on specific sites of the nervous system. With the technology of BMI, animals' locomotion behavior can be precisely controlled as robots, which made the animal turning into bio-robot. In this chapter, we reviewed our lab works focused on rat-robot navigation. The principles of rat-robot system have been briefly described first, including the target brain sites chosen for locomotion control and the design of remote control system. Some methodological advances made by optogenetic technologies for better modulation control have then been introduced. Besides, we also introduced our implementation of "mind-controlled" rat navigation system. Moreover, we have presented our efforts made on combining biological intelligence with artificial intelligence, with developments of automatic control and training system assisted with images or voices inputs. We concluded this chapter by discussing further developments to acquire environmental information as well as promising applications with write-in BMIs.

The sensor nodes of wireless sensor networks (WSNs)-based agricultural monitoring system are required to collect the environmental data periodically, including temperature and humidity, and additionally anytime monitoring shall be required to be realised among the monitored area with minimised quantity of sensor nodes. To meet the mentioned goal, a solar power-moving schedule of mobile-based optimal coverage (SPMSC) is proposed. As the simulation result indicates, the proposed SPMSC, compared with other similar projects, has the 4% decrease of sensor node quantity and the 10% increase of the network lifetime.

The Remote Control System (RCS), as an extension of the Central Control System for the EAST tokamak, is designed to provide an efficient and economical way to international collaboration. As a remote user interface, the RCS must integrate with the Central Control System for EAST tokamak to perform discharge control function. This paper presents a design concept delineating a few key technical issues and addressing all significant details in the system architecture design. With the aim of satisfying system requirements, the RCS will select rich Internet application (RIA) as a user interface, Java as a back-end service and Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Network (SSL VPN) for securable Internet communication.

VR-Based Remote Control System Design for Shearer

Aimed at the problems existed in remote monitoring system of shearer, this paper put forward a new remote control strategy of shearer based on virtual reality (VR) to achieve control visualization and automation of equipment in coal face. Firstly, after analysed the control demands of shearer in the automatic coal face, an overall scheme of coal mining machine virtual control system was put forward, its working principle and main composition were introduced also. Secondly, the methods and procedures for VR-based remote control system for shearer using Quest3D, such as virtual control platform, logic control, data transmission and communication were described. Finally, the experiments were carried out to validate and evaluate those technologies. The experimental result show that the VR techniques were the effective and efficient way to carry out remote control of mining equipment and to improve safety and reliability of production in coal mine.

A remote control system for smart home is designed based on Z-wave, which is divided into two components: controller and receiver. In the controller design, the key signals are scanned by SCM P89LPC9408 to generate and transmit different control commands to Z-wave module, and then the relative commands are packed by Z-wave protocol and transmitted from a wireless network, LCD module is used to display the relative information such as time and temperature. In the receiver design, the Z-wave signal is received by receive module, and the transmission commands are demodulated and transmitted to SCM P89LPC938 to realize the relative functions. The results show that this system has a certain application value for smart home design.

Furthermore this temperature control system can set the temperature at home, while users can remotely start and stop the heating of the gas boiler by mobile phone.

Combining with some research achievements in remote control of robot at home and abroad, this paper analyzes general principle of it and designs a remote control system for robot. The system can be realized through network, and it utilizes browser/server mode and applies CGI program which is written in VB. Through the CGI program, the communication between server and browser is realized. Not only does the design describe the control process, but also it defines a scheme of the remote control system which determines integrated structure. Besides, a user interface which includes user permissions and function modules is developed. Finally, a preliminary control test for system is taken and the performance of the system is analyzed.

As the internet communication is prevalent in recent years, it becomes quite possible to monitor and control some mechanical plants from the remote place through the TCP/IP communication. Such a concept is expected to be applied to many industrial systems for easy maintenance and trouble shooting as well as various kinds of expensive test equipments for sharing. Synthetic jet actuator(SJA) is a kind of high-lifting device to prevent flow separation at high angle of attack and its use for flow control has received a great amount of attention. In this research, remote control and data monitoring system for SJA wind tunnel test is implemented by TCP/IP communication with DSP as a embedded web server. From the tests performed with embedded server. it showed the possibility of reliable remote control system design utilizing the internet communication.

The virtual oscilloscope: an impedance match to beginning ECE students

The design of a virtual oscilloscope, a personal computer interfaced to an analog-to-digital (A/D) interface that imitates the functioning of an oscilloscope, is described. It is shown that this system comes close to the ideal instrument for the student to use in the lab because the instrument functions are transparent, e.g., it does note have so many of the knobs that often get in the way of the measurement process. The design is based on the user interface of the Macintosh computer. The A/D hardware interface is based on an inexpensive single-board computer. Software, custom programmed in the Forth language to implement the virtual oscilloscope concept, links the two computers. The remote system design details, host system program design, and system operation are discussed. >
