Implementasi P5 melalui Kolaborasi Musik Angklung dan Tari Tor-tor di Kelas IV Sekolah Dasar

This study aims to analyze and implement the Pancasila Student Profile Improvement Project (P5) through traditional arts collaboration for 4th grade students of Muhammadiyah Elementary School 29 Sunggal. This study uses a qualitative method with a classroom action research (CAR) design by integrating the West Javanese angklung game and the North Sumatran Tor-Tor dance into learning. The location of the study was Muhammadiyah Elementary School 29 Sunggal, where the study was conducted on 4th grade students of the 2023/2024 academic year from January 2024 to June 2024. The subjects of this study were 25 4th grade students of Muhammadiyah Elementary School 29 Sunggal. The results of the study showed that the P5 project improved students' understanding of Pancasila values, especially mutual cooperation and tolerance through active involvement in collaborative activities and the positive impact on students' cultural understanding and character was very visible. The evaluation highlighted the importance of adding training sessions, improving technical guidance, and integrating cultural activities into the regular curriculum. In conclusion, this P5 project has improved students' skills and understanding of Indonesian culture and strengthened Pancasila values, which have the potential to be applied to other classes in the future.

Development and Implementation of a Multicultural-Based Learning Model to Enhance Understanding of Cultural Diversity

This research aims to develop and implement an effective multicultural-based learning model to enhance the understanding of cultural diversity among students of the Department of Dance and Theater, Faculty of Arts and Culture, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo in the course of Indonesian Dance. In the era of globalization, understanding cultural diversity becomes important to build tolerance and appreciation for differences. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a classroom action research design involving 30 students. The research procedure consists of the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages, which include the use of questionnaires, interviews, and observations to collect data. The research results show that the implementation of a multicultural-based learning model significantly enhances students’ understanding of cultural diversity, as evidenced by the increase in questionnaire scores and active student participation during the learning process. This research concludes that this learning model can be an effective strategy in teaching cultural diversity through dance, as well as making a positive contribution to the development of the curriculum in the Performing Arts department.

Empowerment Disaster-Resilient Village Forums for Health Crisis Preparedness: A Participatory Action Research Approach

This study aims to enhance the Disaster Resilient Village (Destana) forum's preparedness for disaster-related health crises. The key challenges identified are low community response to early warning systems and slow mobilization of health resources, both contributing to high victim numbers and exacerbating health crises. The study focuses on creating an accessible early warning system and accelerating health resource mobilization, prioritizing these elements based on an analysis of disaster preparedness parameters. Using Action Research with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) design, the research was conducted in Magetan Regency, East Java, involving 150 Destana forum administrators. The study explores the development of early warning procedures, health contingency plans, emergency response structures, and simulation plans. The findings reveal that the Destana forum successfully developed tailored health contingency plans for each village, including an inclusive early warning system Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for vulnerable groups. Additionally, an integrated health command structure was formed, enhancing emergency response coordination. Emergency response simulations with 90 participants demonstrated improved readiness and community engagement in handling health crises. The study highlights the importance of a participatory, sustainable approach to building resilience, showing that active community involvement fosters collective responsibility for managing health crises during disasters.

Reader’s Theatre: A Critical Lens for Engaging Psychology Students with Socio-Political Reality

Thanks to the intersection of colonialism, late capitalism and neoliberalism, Western medico-scientific approaches dominate psychological training and practice in the global South. Such approaches position patients as passive, encouraging clinicians to impose universalised assumptions in the psychotherapeutic space. Western approaches also undermine any acknowledgement of the socio-cultural, political, and economic causes of distress - such as racism, sexism, and engineered inequality - so prevalent in multicultural and resource-constricted contexts. Taking a transformational and decolonial stance, there is an urgency to develop alternative approaches to address this neglect. In response, this study employs an action research design - with pre- and post-strategy questionnaires and self-study assignments – and explores the usefulness of reader’s theatre for developing awareness of the impact of taken-for-granted socio-political attitudes, norms, and values on subjectivity. Findings reflect that through this strategy students can acknowledge how experiences that do not correspond to socio-politically endorsed discourses lead to feelings of anger and resentment for some, as well as shame and humiliation for others. Employing reader’s theatre may, therefore, be an important step toward the development of clinicians empowered to work in a respectful and socially just manner with the complexities of distress in the global South.

Utilizing virtual communities of practice in the national campaign of wheat in Egypt: action research

BackgroundVirtual Community of Practices (VCoP) simply is a method to use social media in extension, yet its roots depend on a combination of four concepts: community of practice, social media, social learning theory, and pluralistic extension. The technical action research design was followed to put the VCoP into action and explore its profile. This study aimed to introduce a community of practice using social network applications to policy makers in the agricultural sector.MethodologyAction research was conducted to validate the use of a VCoP in the National Campaign of Wheat in Egypt. A baseline survey, a content analysis of VCoP conversations, and an assessment study were used to collect the data. The frequency, range, percentage, mean, and average score were used for statistical analysis.ResultsThe VCoP reached 22.22% and 10.40% of the wheat farmers in the two target villages, respectively. A high degree of knowledge exchange was detected among members, while messages crossed the VCoP borders as friends were invited to join the group. The VCoP helped its members establish new relationships with other stakeholders, and they expressed their need to expand membership to include other stakeholders. The media used in the VCoP was satisfactory; however, the need for more video messages and internet links was expressed. Extension agents believe that the VCoP complements other extension methods. Farmers see greater potential for cooperation than conflict, while bias is minimal among research, extension, traders, and company agents.ConclusionsFarmers and other service providers in a village can be aggregated in a VCoP. This approach has proven to be valid as an extension community method for generating and sharing information with high “reach”. Coordination and training are essential for running and managing groups. Yearly programs, rather than seasonal programs, are more suitable for sustainability.

Building A Research Culture: Interventions And Innovations

This study explored the promotion of research-based strategies and practices in Philippine public schools. The Department of Education supported this initiative by encouraging teachers and school leaders to engage in research to develop evidence-based solutions. Using a phenomenological approach and action research design, the researchers examined the concepts of ”building” and ”research culture.” The research culture emerged as a way of life and part of the teacher’s identity, involving five key actions: becoming, experiencing, feeling, sustaining, and developing. These actions encompassed the elements of forming a teacher-researcher identity, navigating challenging and positive experiences, investing emotions in research, and maintaining the culture through various support mechanisms. The ’developing’ action highlighted the dynamic nature of research culture and continuous learning. The study introduced the MOVERS (Moving Research through Blended Learning Space) intervention in different schools, providing coaching and mentoring to teachers’ as they craft their concept paper presentations. This programme also addressed the challenges of conducting research during the new normal. Future research should consider measuring MOVERS’ impact after multiple iterations.

INVESTIGATING THE IMPACT OF WEB-BASED LANGUAGE LEARNING (WBLL) THROUGH WRITE & IMPROVE ON WRITING SKILLS IN SECONDARY SCHOOL

This study examines the impact of Web-Based Language Learning (WBLL) using the program Write & Improve on secondary school students' writing skills at SM St. Michael, Penampang, using the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). The study sought to investigate students' perspectives and impact in writing through guided practice and feedback. The technique used a two-cycle action research design that included both writing activities and open-ended surveys to collect information about students' writing performance and perceptions. Initial studies revealed that students struggled with the tool's UI and feedback mechanisms, restricting their development throughout the first cycle. However, significant increases were seen in the second cycle, with students obtaining higher CEFR bands and showing a greater grasp of feedback. Surveys revealed high satisfaction and perceived effectiveness of Write & Improve, despite some technical issues and occasional inaccuracies in feedback. The study emphasizes the significance of teacher participation, as SCT and Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) indicate that directed learning and feedback can improve student outcomes. Researchers should conduct longitudinal investigations and perform different demographic testing. For educators, the findings emphasize optimal practices for incorporating WBLL technologies into instruction. This study adds to the growing body of knowledge about digital learning aids as well as providing ideas for better writing teaching through technology.

Navigating uncertainties for promoting nurse-led changes in work environments: A participatory action research

BackgroundThe nursing work environment is crucial for nurses' well-being and patients’ quality of care. Despite effective interventions to improve the nursing work environment, understanding the most effective types and integration mechanisms for nurses remain challenging. As nursing practices evolve amid complex care demands and staff shortages, understanding nurses’ challenges, support systems, and adoption mechanisms is vital to optimize the work environment and to enhance quality of care, job satisfaction, and staff retention. PurposeTo explore strategies for promoting and supporting nurse-led changes to improving their work environment. MethodsThe study employed a participatory action research design on three nursing wards in a Dutch academic hospital. Action research teams with diverse ward nurses were established on each ward. The research took place between September 2022 and October 2023. Data were collected during observations, PhotoVoice workshops, and individual interviews. Data were analyzed using the rigorous and accelerated data reduction technique. ResultsNurses and managers showed patterns of behavior that either hindered or facilitated changes, leading to the emergence of three themes: strengthening relationships, taking the lead, and being up to the task. These themes highlight the importance of fostering collaboration, encouraging proactive attitudes, and building capabilities to address challenges and drive positive changes in their work environment. Feelings of uncertainty emerged in all themes, and this uncertainty hindered nurses from taking responsibility for facilitating change. ConclusionsThis study demonstrated different mechanisms that either facilitate or hinder nurse-led changes and how feelings of uncertainty play a role. Nurses emphasized the importance of collaboration and proactive attitudes but faced challenges in recognizing responsibility and their perceived competencies. Strengthening nurses' resilience to and management of uncertainty is essential. Healthcare organizations should help nurses navigate uncertainty to foster positive changes. Collaborative Feedback in Enhancing Master Level English Specializing Students’ Instructional Skills

This study was conducted after identifying problems in the micro-teaching activities of M.Ed. fourth-semester English specializing students studying at Central Department of Education, Tribhuvan University in 2078 and 2079. The majority of the students had weaknesses in lesson planning, presentation, material selection, teaching strategies, text development and evaluation. As the internal supervisor, I proposed using collaborative feedback to address these issues. The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of collaborative feedback in improving students' instructional skills and engagement. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) design and involving 22 students in nine rounds of micro/peer teaching, data were collected through peer/teacher evaluations, classroom observations of each student, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). The data were analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that collaborative feedback helped students identify their areas of strengths and weaknesses in presentation skills, classroom interaction, and material construction and use leading to better lesson planning, teaching strategies and overall teaching skills. Collaborative feedback offered opportunities for learning from others, increased motivation and receptivity to feedback.

Barriers to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Migrant and Refugee Youth: An Exploratory Socioecological Qualitative Analysis

(1) Background: Migrant and refugee youth’s (MRY’s) sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHRs) are a global health issue. MRY encounter adverse SRH experiences due to limited access to and knowledge of SRHRs services. Using a socioecological framework, this study examined the barriers affecting MRY’s SRHRs. (2) Methods: A cross-sectional study utilising a participatory action research design was used. A total of 87 MRY (ages 16–26, from 20 cultural groups within Greater Western Sydney, Australia) completed seventeen focus group discussions on their SRHRs experiences. The focus groups were co-facilitated by youth project liaisons to ensure their authenticity and validity. The data were analysed thematically and interpreted using socioecological theory. (3) Results: The findings identified socioecological barriers, a lack of awareness about and access to services, and sociocultural dissonance as leading to the under-implementation of SRHRs services. These barriers included cultural disconnects, language barriers, remote service locations, intergenerational cultural conflicts, and ineffective SRHRs services. The key themes identified included traditional and institutional stigma, lack of SRH education, reliance on social media for SRH information, and privacy concerns. (4) Conclusions: There is a limited consideration of MRY’s SRHRs and the impact of intergenerational discordance and stigma on MRY’s rights. The findings suggest the necessity for a collaborative SRHRs strategy and policy design that empowers MRY’s agency across multicultural contexts.

Upaya Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa dengan Metode Team Games Tournament (TGT) Terhadap Siswa Kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Gowa

This study aims to enhance students’ learning motivation through the application of the team games tournament (TGT) method in the 11th grade students at SMA N 1 Gowa. The study employs a classroom action research (CAR) design consisting of two cycles, with each cycle including the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjectof the study were 11th grade students at SMA N 1 Gowa. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed a significant increase in students’ learning motivation after the implementation of the TGT method. This method proved effective in creating a more interactive and competitive learning environment, therby boosting students’ enthusiasm and engagement in the learning process

A Real-Life Laboratory Setting for Clinical Practice, Education, and Research in Family Systems Care: Protocol for a Transformational Action Research Study.

Burdening health and illness issues such as physical or mental illnesses, accidents, disabilities, and life events such as birth or death influence the health and functioning of families and contribute to the complexity of care and health care costs. Considerable research has confirmed the benefits of a family systems-centered care approach for patients, family caregivers, families, and health care professionals. However, health care professionals face barriers in working with families, such as feeling unprepared. Family systems-centered therapeutic conversations support families' day-to-day coping, resilience, and health. A family systems care unit (FSCU) was recently established as a real-life laboratory at one of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences. In this unit, health care professionals offer therapeutic conversations to families and individual family members to support daily symptom management and functioning, soften suffering, and increase health and well-being. These conversations are observed in real time through a 1-way window by other health care professionals, students, and trainees and are recorded with video for research and education. Little is known about how therapeutic conversations contribute to meaningful changes in burdened families and the benefits of vicarious learning in a real-life laboratory setting for family systems care. In this research program, we aim to deepen our understanding of how therapeutic conversations support families and individuals experiencing burdening health and illness issues and how the FSCU laboratory setting supports the learning of students, clinical trainees, and health care professionals. Here we apply a transformational action research design, including parallel and subsequent substudies, to advance knowledge and practice in family systems care. Qualitative multiple-case study designs will be used to explore the benefits of therapeutic conversations by analyzing recordings of the therapeutic conversations. The learning processes of students, trainees, and professionals will be investigated with descriptive qualitative study designs based on single and focus group interviews. The data will be analyzed with established coding methods. Therapeutic conversations have been investigated in 3 single-case studies, each involving a sequence of 3 therapeutic conversation units. Data collection regarding the second research question is planned. Preliminary results confirm the therapeutic conversations to support families' coping. This renders the FSCU a setting for ethically sensitive research. This program will not only support the health and well-being of families, but also contribute to relieving the financial and workforce burdens in the health and social care system. Principal’s Leadership in Improving Teachers’ Ability to Implement the Merdeka Curriculum

This study aimed at improving teachers’ abilities at SD 83 Palembang in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum through training and mentoring. The study employed a classroom action research design. The research subjects were the teachers at SD 83 Palembang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The research was conducted from April to May 2024 at SD 83 Palembang, involving 31 teachers and 9 educational staff as samples. The findings revealed that training and mentoring were effective in enhancing teachers’ capabilities in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. The principal of SD 83 Palembang has fostered a positive school environment, evident in their active role in enhancing teachers’ competencies in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum grants schools and teachers greater autonomy in designing learning that aligns with students’ needs and potential. This necessitates teachers possessing adequate capabilities to effectively implement the Merdeka Curriculum.

Telemonitoring activities of daily living in home healthcare services to support aging in place

Abstract Context Assessing older adults’ abilities to carry out their activities of daily living (ADLs) is a key determinant in the provision of homecare services for aging in place. Amidst a growing aging population and lack of human resources, continuous remote monitoring technology appears promising to support health and social care professionals (HSCPs) in identifying service needs. However, implementation studies conducted in real-life settings are lacking. This study is part of an on-going action design research project aimed at developing an ambient telemonitoring system monitoring ADLs to support clinical decision making. It focused on the initial step of implementation and aimed to understand 1) which HSCPs would want to use the system, 2) for which care recipient they requested it, and 3) for which reasons. Methods A multiple embedded case study utilizing mixed methods was conducted across 3 healthcare establishments in Quebec, Canada. Descriptive statistics from surveys and medical records was conducted to describe the profile of HSCPs and their care recipients. An inductive qualitative analysis was carried out through interviews with 23 HSCPs, in charge of 31 care recipients, to deepen our understanding of the reasons why they requested the system. Results HSCPs were primarily women (89%) occupational therapists (43%). Home care recipients were also primarily women (74%), with documented refusal of homecare services (65%), diagnosed with cognitive decline (94%), and living in a single-family home or apartment (68%). Overall, interviews revealed HSCPs challenges in getting the necessary information to assess their care recipients needs, despite the presence of in-home services and other strategies in place (e.g. informal carer support). Moreover, the telemonitoring system was perceived as promising for risk management. Conclusions There is an interest for the use of ADL telemonitoring technology in the delivery of home healthcare services for aging in place. Key messages • To facilitate its integration in practice, we explored the need for, and value of, ADLs telemonitoring technology by health and social care professionals (HSCPs) in real-life contexts. • By studying the integration of innovative technologies in home healthcare practices, such as ADLs telemonitoring, we aim to support HSCPs practice in fulfilling older adults desire to age in place.

Evaluation of Artificial Intelligence as a Source of Motivation in the Teaching of Chemistry: A Study with Tenth Grade Students at the Adventist School of Ibagué

The objective of this research has been to evaluate the effect of the integration of Artificial Intelligence on the motivation of students, in the area of Chemistry of tenth grade of the Adventist School of Ibagué. To this end, a methodology with a qualitative approach and a Participatory Action Research design with four phases were used: planning, action, observation and reflection. The information was collected through observation and interview techniques for which field diaries and structured script were used as research instruments. This information was analyzed with the Atlas.ti 23 software, the resulting codes allowed the definition of the categories: experience in the use of artificial intelligence, motivation and commitment, meaningful learning and perceptions about teaching and learning. The results obtained reflect an increase in student motivation and engagement, as well as a favorable impact on meaningful learning. They highlight the pedagogical potential of this resource, to diversify and enrich didactics in the teaching of chemistry. A positive perception by students towards the implementation of AI in the classroom was identified. It is concluded that the use of AI mediated with the design of pedagogical strategies to create learning environments and situations can improve the motivation of students, generating a space for knowledge and meaningful learning. However, challenges were also identified, such as the need for teacher and student training in the management and proper use of technological resources. In addition, the importance of not considering artificial intelligence as a total replacement for the role of the teacher, but as a complementary tool that requires an adequate pedagogical approach, is highlighted.

Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Melalui Problem Based Learning Pada Materi Perkelahian Pelajar, Narkoba Dan Khomar Kelas Xi Akl Smk Negeri 3 Seluma

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes on the topics of fighting, drugs, and khamr at SMK Negeri 3 Seluma by applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method. PBL was chosen for its ability to encourage active student engagement and the application of knowledge in real-life contexts. The research uses a classroom action research design involving two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.The subjects of the study are tenth-grade students at SMK Negeri 3 Seluma, with a focus on teaching materials related to fighting, drugs, and khamr. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and pre- and post-implementation learning tests. The results indicate that the implementation of the PBL method significantly improved students' understanding of the taught material. Students showed improvements in their ability to analyze real-life cases, make better decisions, and increase their awareness of the impacts of fighting, drugs, and khamr.Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning method is effective in enhancing student learning outcomes on social and health-related topics. The study recommends a broader application of the PBL method across various teaching materials to improve students' critical thinking skills and awareness in the context of health and social education.

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar (Pada Materi Aku Memiliki Kemampuan) Bagi Peserta Didik Kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Kualuh Hulu

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Grade VII students on the topic "I Have Abilities" through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model for students at SMP Negeri 1 Kualuh Hulu in the 2024/2025 academic year. The PBL method was chosen for its ability to enhance student engagement, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities relevant to everyday life. This research employs a classroom action research (CAR) design involving two cycles of action. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observations of the learning process, and evaluation questionnaires. The results of the study show a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes, as evidenced by increased test scores and positive feedback from students regarding the learning process. The implementation of the PBL model also demonstrated improvements in students' collaboration skills and learning motivation. Therefore, the use of the Problem-Based Learning model can be considered effective in improving students' learning outcomes in the taught material.

Meningkatkan Keaktifan Siswa Dalam Pembelajaran Pak Melalui Model Pbl Kelas V Fase C SD Negeri 16 Sadaniang

From the initial observation of the learning process of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education at SD Negeri 16 Sadaniang, it showed a lack of student activity which affected the level of understanding and learning outcomes. This study aims to improve student activity in the learning process and student learning outcomes by using the Problem Based Learning model on the material Involved in Environmental Conservation at SD Negeri 16 Sadaniang, grade V (five) Phase C. By using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) design through four (4) stages, namely; planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection, it is expected to be able to overcome the problems that occur. The subjects of this study were grade V (five) students with a total of 5 students consisting of 3 boys and 2 girls. To obtain research data, Data Collection Techniques were carried out with several aspects, namely; conducting observations with the Pancasila Student Profile indicator; the dimension of mutual cooperation with sub-elements, namely positive interdependence, through cognitive learning outcome tests with the expectation of being proficient, competent, feasible and newly developing.

Meningkatkan Sikap Kritis Siswa dengan Metode PBL Berbantuan Video Pembelajaran pada Fase E Kelas X di SMK Negeri 1N Hiliserangkai

This study aims to improve the critical attitude of students in class X Phase E at SMK Negeri 1 Hiliserangkai, Nias, by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method assisted by learning videos. The PBL method, which places students at the center of learning by exposing them to real problems, is expected to overcome students' passivity and improve critical thinking skills, especially in responding to information from mass media. This study used a Classroom Action Research (PTK) design in two cycles, involving 15 Catholic students. Data were collected through tests, observations, and interviews. The results showed that the application of PBL was effective in improving students' critical attitude towards mass media. This study recommends the application of the PBL method in other schools and the need for teacher training to support effective implementation.

Meningkatkan Sikap Kritis Siswa dengan Model PBL berbantuan Media Video Fase E Kelas X di SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar

This research aims to enhance the critical thinking skills of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, supported by video media. The students' critical thinking is assessed based on their ability to analyze information, distinguish between facts and opinions, and evaluate the reliability of the information they receive, particularly in relation to the influence of mass media. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design consisting of two cycles, with each cycle including the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the research showed a significant improvement in students' critical thinking from the first cycle to the second. In the first cycle, the average critical thinking score was only 68%, with the main weakness being the evaluation of information reliability. However, after improvements in the second cycle, the average score increased to 90%. Students became more engaged in group discussions, better able to analyze videos, and more critical in evaluating media content. The use of video as a learning medium was also found to be effective in facilitating visual and contextual understanding of the material. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques involved data reduction by selecting raw data into useful information, data presentation in the form of descriptions, graphs, and tables, and drawing conclusions based on the research findings that addressed the research questions. The use of the Problem-Based Learning model, supported by video media, followed the PBL syntax, including steps such as orienting students to the problem, organizing students for learning, guiding individual or group investigations, developing and presenting results, and analyzing and evaluating the problem-solving process. This approach proved effective in enhancing student motivation and independence in critical thinking and responsibility towards the influence of mass media in the 10th-grade class at SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar. In conclusion, the implementation of the PBL model with video media significantly improved students' critical thinking skills.
