THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTRODUCTION TO ESSAY WRITING COURSE’S TEXTBOOK BASED ON HOTS-TECH INTEGRATED WITH CM-PBL (CASE METHOD-PROJECT BASED LEARNING)

Despite many studies focusing on writing materials, few developed e-book writing materials for university students. This study aims to 1) analyze the students' and lecturers' needs related to the development of the Introduction to Essay Writing Course's textbook based on HOTS-Tech (Higher Order Thinking Skill-Technology) integrated with CM-PBL (Case Method-Project Based Learning) and 2) to develop an Introduction to Essay Writing Course's textbook based on HOTS-Tech integrated with CM-PBL. This study employs R &D with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). Participants in the current study are 35 university students and four lecturers. We employed instruments such as questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Data collection traces the ADDIE model, while the data analysis employs non-parametric statistics with a descriptive quantitative model. The result shows that the book adheres contents of the book, material presentation, presentation order, the balance of the chapter, language use, and layout. The activities should cover higher-order thinking skills (HOTs) under main categories; analyzing, evaluating, and creating. The current study implies that EFL university teachers embed technology and HOTs in the Essay Writing e-book to promote the techno-skill of the current generation.

THE EFFECT OF POPULATION DEPENDENCY, TECHNOLOGY, AND EDUCATION ON HUMAN DEVELOPMENT IN INDONESIA DURING THE PANDEMIC COVID-19

This study aims to determine the effect of population dependence, technology, and education on human development. Human development in this research is measured by adjusted per capita expenditure. The research method used in this study is from panel data from 2019 – 2021 in 34 provinces in Indonesia with a descriptive quantitative model. Based on the partial analysis, the population dependency technology variable has a positive and significant effect on human development by the probability value of smaller than alpha (0.05). At the same time, the education variable has a negative and significant effect on human development in Indonesia during the covid-19 period. Simultaneously, all variables significantly affect human development, shown through R2 of 99.80% and 0.20% and are explained by other variables outside the study.

The perception of Acehnese parents on heritage language maintenance: A quantitative approach

Family is the ideal platform to maintain the indigenous language, and parents are the core feature in promoting it to the children. Many previous studies have concentrated on the Acehnese younger generations’ declination use of Acehnese. Their perception of the language is initially linked to the parents’ attitude towards it since the parents’ attitude determines the children’s perception of it. Hence, the present research aims to fill in the gap by assessing the language attitude of the Acehnese parents living in the urban areas on Acehnese and searching for their efforts in passing the language to their descendants. Fifty-five respondents from three different districts in Banda Aceh were purposely selected by considering some criteria to fulfill the need of this research. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires and analyzed using a descriptive quantitative model; a five-point Likert Scale, a weighted mean score, a mean combined score, and a score interval to put the results based on their criteria. The result shows that the language attitude of the Acehnese parents is in good criterion (4.2); they honor, respect, and are proud of speaking the language as their identity. Moreover, they also put some genuine efforts into maintaining and inheriting the language by speaking the language while interacting with the spouse, children, and other Acehnese community members; and promoting the language to their children in several ways despite living in urban areas.

PENGARUH KUALITAS LAYANAN, KUALITAS PRODUK DAN PERSEPSI HARGA TERHADAP KEPUASAN PELANGGAN PADA RESTORAN GREAT INDONESIA

Great Indonesian restaurant is a restaurant located in Terminal Three Soekarno-Hatta Airport. A decline in the level of customer satisfaction resulted in a high level of canceled bills and decrease in income, based on studies of the factors that support the improvement of customer satisfaction in this restaurant is the quality of service, price and quality perception of the product. This study aims to examine and analyze the impact of service quality, price and service quality perceptions influence on customer satisfaction Great Indonesian Restaurant. Type of research is descriptive quantitative model. The population in the study for 1300 respondents and with slovin formula samples taken as many as 93 respondents, the sampling using the technique of Non-Probability Sampling with accidental sampling approach. Results of research addressing that perception variable price and service quality and significant positive effect on customer satisfaction, while the variable quality of service partially no significant influence on customer satisfaction. Simultaneously, the third independent variable is the quality of service, price and service quality perceptions significant effect on customer satisfaction in the Restaurant Great Indonesia
