The Effect of Service Quality, Cargo Handling Rates, and Infrastructure Facilities on Customer Satisfaction in Aircraft Cargo Expedition Services Pt Angkasa Pura Logistik Yogyakarta

The demand for logistics services is currently high, evidenced by increased imports to Indonesia from 2022 to 2023. Logistics service providers, such as PT Angkasa Pura Logistik Yogyakarta, must consistently maintain customer satisfaction. Therefore, this study examines how service quality, pricing, and infrastructure influence customer satisfaction at PT Angkasa Pura Logistik Yogyakarta. This research investigates the impact of service quality, cargo handling tariffs, and infrastructure on customer satisfaction with air freight services provided by PT Angkasa Pura Logistik Yogyakarta. This study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing accidental sampling. The sample size consists of 80 respondents. Data analysis is conducted through multiple linear regression analysis (SPSS software version 26). The results indicate that service quality, cargo handling tariffs, and infrastructure positively and significantly impact customer satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously. The most significant variable influencing customer satisfaction is service quality.

A model to describe logistics service architecture based on product architecture

AbstractThe growth in e-commerce has led to increased demand for logistics services. This puts a pressure on third-party logistics (3PL) providers who struggle with increasing operating costs and heightened competition. These providers could potentially exploit the advantages of modularisation, but few studies address the design of modular logistics services. This study explores modular design of logistics services and proposes a model to describe logistics service architecture based on product architecture. A case study shows that warehousing services can be described in three domains.

Role of logistics innovation capabilities in supply chains operations at manufacturing firms

This study aims to examine the impact of Logistics Innovation Capabilities and mitigating the disruption risk in supply chain operations in the manufacturing Industries of Karachi Pakistan. With the fast growth in Pakistan's economy and vision 2025 seeks to enhance the national transport infrastructure and logistics network system. The demand for logistics services in Pakistan has been steadily expanding. Pakistan's Industry focuses more on adopting logistics innovation capabilities to provide their customer with better services. Quantitative research is designed to study the link between the capabilities of dependent and independent variables to minimize the risk. By empirically analyzing survey data SPSS is a popular method to validate the study model. The impact of innovation in logistics technologies has a huge positive influence affect by firm performance, environment uncertainty, technology implementation & customer side. Through Logistics Innovation capabilities, many empirical studies have been conducted to minimize the supply chain risk. This study provides empirical support for dependent and independent variables. Our results can help Pakistan's manufacturing industry develop logistics strategies and adopt innovation capabilities to reduce supply chain risk.

Determining Factors for Supply Chain Services Provider Selection and Long-Term Relationship Maintenance: Evidence from Greece

Background: Due to increased globalization and its subsequent rise in competitiveness, the role of supply chain services (3PL) in managing logistics, reducing operational and non-operational costs, and managing customer and supplier relationships, have become of utmost importance. Customer-centric production has led to the development of a close relationship between production processes. Amidst all this, the demand for logistic services has dramatically increased, thus putting more pressure on firms for enhanced operational results, and leading to the outsourcing of their internal and external logistic activities. On the other hand, supply chain firms that provide 3PL services seek to enhance their sustainability and predict their customers’ demand. Methods: The authors collected quantitative data from 81 firms that operate in various industrial sectors in Greece. A questionnaire was sent for completion, in which firms could rate and evaluate various aspects that were discerned as important for deciding to cooperate with a 3PL service provider and maintain this cooperation in the long run. To extract the required outcomes, statistical analyses like categorical regression (CATREG) and MANOVA were utilized. Results: The demand for 3PL services was affected by 3PL service providers’ operational performance based on accuracy, reputation, and IT capabilities, while the customer firms’ intention for maintaining cooperation with 3PL service providers was affected by their reliability level, improved service efficiency, and trustworthiness. Conclusions: 3PL service providers should seek to improve the reputation, IT infrastructure, and accuracy of their firm's operations to have a continuous demand for their services. Apart from that, 3PL service providers to maintain the cooperation with their customers, need to enhance the levels of their services reliability and efficiency, while also creating a bond of trust with their existing customers.

Coordination Mechanism of Revenue Sharing Contracts in Port Supply Chains: A Case Study of China’s Nantong Port

Considering the port function’s importance, the supply chain’s overall and individual revenues, and the port supply chain’s uniqueness, a game model for a two-stage port supply chain composed of port service providers and port enterprises was developed. Using revenue sharing contracts (RSCs) as a coordination mechanism, game equilibriums were investigated under two conditions: price-sensitive or price-insensitive port logistics service demand. The results suggested that RSCs can achieve Pareto improvement in both cases, thereby coordinating port supply chain revenues. Led by the port logistics service provider and port enterprise, the coordination mechanisms based on RSCs of port supply chain were discussed using logistics service capacity as the coordination link. Despite differing decision orders, the RSC model can coordinate the port’s supply chain with its service provider, while the port and logistics service provider determine the retention ratio. This paper also proposed coordination measures for the Nantong Port, one of the most important ports in China, to maximize the logistics capacity of iron ore supply chain and enhance the port logistics’ value-added services.

SC-TVP Green Practice Initiative in China’s Logistics Market Based on Case Analysis

In the era of circular economy, the concept of sustainable development has attracted more and more attention. With the development of cross-border e-commerce, the demand for logistics services has continued to surge, and the pressure on them to provide sustainable services has risen sharply. In 2020, China officially put forward the “double carbon” strategic goal, and green logistics has become the new direction of industry development, in line with the concept of sustainable development. However, the actual impact of green logistics practice on China’s sustainable logistics services is unknown. This paper aims to study the current situation and results of green logistics practice through data analysis and case analysis, including green design, green transportation, green management and other indicators. Based on the case analysis in this paper, the SC-TVP model is constructed to provide an effective green logistics practice framework, with a view to improving the management level of green logistics, promoting the development of enterprises, and providing some reference for the logistics development in the post-epidemic era.

Using Large-Scale Truck Trajectory Data to Explore the Location of Sustainable Urban Logistics Centres—The Case of Wuhan

Urban logistics is important to a city’s sustainable growth and development. With the increase in population and the economic growth in urban areas, the issue of congestion and the negative influence of transport of goods on people and the environment is one of the most important factors in the development of urban logistics. By determining the optimal location of urban logistics centres, total transport costs of logistics, the flow of goods in urban areas and the greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced. However, the traditional methods are easily influenced by the ambiguity of objective data, which makes it difficult to accurately describe the logistics demand in the urban area. To address this issue, the improved location–allocation model for urban logistics centres based on truck trajectory data is proposed. After extracting the origin–destination points, the logistics service demand can be estimated by the DBSCAN (density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise) clustering method. Then, the location–allocation of logistics centres is determined by an improved P-median method with the supply capacity limitation for simultaneous delivery of goods in the logistics centres. To validate the model, taking Wuhan, a central logistics city in China, as an example, the model can effectively ensure the equitable distribution of logistics facilities, minimize freight expenses, achieve more uniformity in logistics center services, and foster sustainable development of the city’s logistics sector.

Research on Partner Selection of High-Speed Railway Dynamic Logistics Alliance Based on the Dynamic Programming Model

Traditional railway transportation can no longer meet people’s demand for logistics services. This paper takes advantage of high speed to propose a high-speed railway dynamic logistics alliance based on a cloud platform to make up for the lack of transport capacity at both ends of the high-speed railway logistics trunk line. Selecting partners is crucial to the high-speed rail logistics alliance. This paper uses the methods of multiobjective fuzzy optimization and dynamic programming to conduct multistage optimization of high-speed railway dynamic logistics alliance partners. When the market demand changes, in order to optimize the overall interests of the alliance, this paper uses the efficiency profit field method to achieve the dynamic selection of alliance partners or potential partners. The case study shows that the establishment of the high-speed railway dynamic logistics alliance can optimize the interests of the members of the alliance, verify the effectiveness of the method, and provide a reference for the better development of high-speed railway logistics.

Improving the Quality of Courier Services during a Pandemic with Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ)

The increase in transactions through e-commerce due to changes in consumer buying behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic affected the demand for logistics services for the delivery of goods. The quality of logistics services can affect customer satisfaction and loyalty, and logistics service companies must provide added value to the services provided. This is what underlies the making of this research to be able to provide innovation proposals and improve service quality to courier service providers to support government programs to improve the quality of national logistics services. The method used in this research is Logistic Service Quality (LSQ), which analyzes problems in courier services. Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) is used to solve problems in the object of research and provide suggestions for improvement.

Research on the Emission Reduction Decision of Cost-Sharing Logistics Service Supply Chain in the O2O Model

As an effective way to realize energy savings and environmental protection, cost sharing is gradually becoming an important measure to reduce emissions in the logistics service supply chain under O2O mode in recent years. How to conduct contract selection and design optimization under the cost-sharing situation, and then improve the operational efficiency of the logistics service supply chain is an important issue that needs to be addressed. Firstly, based on the initial market demand for logistics, this paper involves the influence of both online logistics service integrators and onsite functional logistics service providers on logistics market demand in terms of emission reduction and platform brand image and develops a model based on the logistics service demand function in the O2O mode. Secondly, for the role of online and onsite emission reduction services in multi-cycle continuous cooperation to enhance the platform integrator’s brand image, a cost-sharing differential game model between online and onsite services is developed to facilitate providers’ adoption of high-quality emission reduction services. Finally, the HJB equation is used to compare the non-cooperative Nash game, the cost-sharing Stackelberg game, and the cooperative game to make the optimal abatement decision, the optimal benefit, and the cost-sharing ratio of the abatement service supply chain in the non-cooperative Nash game, the cost-sharing Stackelberg game, and the cooperative game. By comparing the results of the three games, we find that the optimal onsite and online abatement service decision is related to the cost, marginal revenue, and the impact of the service on demand; the abatement cost-sharing contract and cooperation are both better than the non-cooperative independent decision state, which can effectively guide the provision of high-quality onsite abatement service and improve the revenue of both parties involved in the logistics service supply chain and the total system’s revenue in the O2O mode. Compared with the cooperative game model, the cost-sharing contract can more effectively facilitate close cooperation between the actors, and the relationship between onsite and online marginal revenue affects the improvement of both parties’ revenue. The findings of the study can provide useful managerial insights for the selection and design optimization of abatement contracts for logistics service supply chains considering cost-sharing via the O2O model.

Design and Implementation of a Logistics Decision Support Platform Based on Global Manufacturing From the Perspective of the Belt and Road Initiative

The belt and road initiative development strategy proposed by Secretary General Xi Jinping is currently being carried out. The world economy will work more closely together, and the logistics industry will advance to higher level of development. In this paper, to help realize improved world-wide logistics, a decision-making platform based on global manufacturing was built from a survey and an analysis of the overall competitiveness of the logistics industry in terms of demand for logistics services and logistics service capabilities. The platform was found to offer good performance and meet the application requirements.

Supply chain operation evaluation and management decision by fuzzy cognitive map model

AbstractThe components of the logistics and supply chain are analysed to meet the needs of supply chain management and decision support, aiming at the complexity and uncertainty of the supply chain system. First, the characteristics of logistics demand and logistics service types of some enterprises are analysed. The factors affecting supplier selection are obtained through the questionnaire survey of some enterprises. Second, the mutual feedback relationship between the influencing factors of logistics service demand is analysed, and a fuzzy cognitive graph model of the selection process of enterprise logistics service providers is established. Finally, the fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) model is used to conduct an empirical study on the choice of logistics service providers. The results show that the ranking results of the three candidate logistics service companies based on FCM are WL1 (0.7233) > WL3 (0.6823) > WL2 (0.6764). When each node of the concept does not affect each other, the ranking result of the three candidate logistics service companies based on analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is WL1 (0.7265) > WL2 (0.6949) > WL3 (0.6920). The final evaluation result will be affected by the mutual influence relationship between the concept nodes. Overall, the lowest evaluation score is WL2, and the highest is WL1. The most suitable logistics service provider for the enterprise is WL1. The FCM model selected by the manufacturing enterprise logistics service provider is reasonable and feasible. The mutual feedback between evaluation factors affects the selection of logistics service providers in a company. The FCM can get a more accurate evaluation weight value and can realize the optimal choice of logistics suppliers. It provides reference and decision support for other enterprises.

Proposal of a New Agent-based Model and Its Validation by Simulation

Abstract Transportation services are diversifying as the demand for logistics services and truck transportation increases. However, the subcontracting hierarchy has produced social problems such as excessive driver labor, dissatisfaction of recipients, and deterioration of distribution efficiency. In this study, we focused on these problems and proposed, designed, implemented, and verified a point-to-point (P2P)-type logistics platform that reflects user preferences. A P2P logistics platform is defined as a decentralized platform in which delivery schedules are made only by interactions between truck and package agents without any human intervention. This platform is based on logistics agent modeling and sacrifice volume and negotiation, and its construction and simulation are described. In addition, as a case study, the model’s effectiveness for time-insensitive cargo, the case of truck entry and exit for time-sensitive cargo, and the actual delivery and truck supply convergence were verified.

Game Theory Based Decision Coordination Strategy of Agricultural Logistics Service Information System

Under the background of “Internet plus” rapid development, the agricultural logistics industry should apply information technology to every link of the agricultural product logistics industry chain. By making full use of the decision making module of the agricultural logistics information system, we can realize the full sharing of information and data resources, which makes the decision-making scheme of the agricultural logistics information system more optimized. In real economic society, the uncertainty and mismatch between the customer’s logistics service demand and the logistics service capability that the logistics service function provider can provide, that is, when the two information are asymmetric, how to use the third-party contract to coordinate the income and profit distribution of the two, to make the information system decision making more reasonable? This paper mainly studies the coordination scheme of agricultural logistics information system decision making under uncertain output and demand information by introducing the spot market. A joint coordination strategy based on revenue sharing and penalty feedback contracts proposes decentralized decision making based on game theory. Experiments show that the flexible ordering strategy proposed in this paper can reduce the logistics service supply chain’s uncertainty and significantly improve the logistics service supply chain’s overall income level through coordination contracts.

ТРАНСПОРТНА ЛОГІСТИКА ЯК ФАКТОР ЗАБЕЗПЕЧЕННЯ ЗОВНІШНЬОЕКОНОМІЧНОЇ ДІЯЛЬНОСТІ ВІТЧИЗНЯНИХ ПІДПРИЄМСТВ

Due to the active development of international cooperation, the issues of optimizing the process of planning and organizing the international delivery of goods and resources to the final consumer, in other words, the need for efficient transport logistics is growing. The purpose of the study is to determine the problems and prospects of transport logistics using in the foreign economic activity of domestic enterprises. Transport is one of the most important sectors of the Ukrainian economy. The share of transport services is quite significant in the structure of foreign trade of services in Ukraine. Exports of transport services in 2020 amount to 4.88 billion dollars, which is 43.7% of total exports of services. Imports – is 1.01 billion dollars (19.5%). Modern conditions of the freight market are characterized by increased competition, reduced profits, increased and emerging new requirements for the quality of services provided. Market conditions are becoming increasingly difficult for logistics and freight forwarding companies. The dynamics of cargo turnover and cargo transportation by types of transport in Ukraine has been studied and the tendency to decrease the volume of cargo turnover in recent years has been revealed. Features of transport and logistics services are considered. It is noted that the transport and logistics support of foreign economic activity should be aimed at: assessing the system of transport and logistics services for compliance with customer requirements, the structure of transport demand, based on market trends; determination of specialized transport and logistics needs, status and dynamics of demand for logistics services; study of the system of organizational and economic interaction of participants of specialized transport and logistics services of cargo transportation of enterprises. Perspective ways of improving domestic transport logistics in the field of foreign economic activity are identified, including: ensuring safe operation of transport; improving the mechanism of sanctions for violating safety rules in transport; improving energy efficiency of vehicles; optimization of multimodal logistics schemes operation; efficient use of logistics infrastructure through improved transportation management, warehousing and information systems.

Real-Time Location-Positioning Technologies for Managing Cart Operations at a Distribution Facility

In this paper, we propose an RFID-based location-positioning platform for managing cart operations at vast and fast-moving distribution facilities. Our work was motivated by a real-world problem in a large airmail center. Our system requires that each cart is affixed with an active RFID tag, and RFID readers are installed at multiple locations of the facility. The locations of the tagged carts are determined by the estimated angles of arrival communication signals between the readers and the tags and the signal strengths, and the information about their positions are stored in the platform continuously. This platform enables the users to locate tagged objects in real time, thereby saving staff members a significant amount of time from searching for the right carts in the highly dynamic environment. Consequently, the mail facility can benefit from the increased efficiency. Furthermore, the system is also able to reduce the chance of having a delay in delivering mail bags to unit load device (ULD) area and misplacements of mail bags to ULDs. We further analyze the the huge amount of historical data collected from the RFID infrastructure of the airmail center for the cart movements within the facility and observed previously unrecognized operational issues. We also discuss some of the challenges and problems faced in this project. We believe that this application can bring huge benefits to businesses and organizations along supply chains by effectively anticipating the increasing demand for logistics services in the age of electronic retailing.

A New Multi Objective Mathematical Model for Relief Distribution Location at Natural Disaster Response Phase

Every year, natural disasters such as earthquake, flood, hurricane and etc. impose immense financial and humane losses on governments owing to their unpredictable character and arise of emergency situations and consequently the reduction of the abilities due to serious damages to infrastructures, increases demand for logistic services and supplies. First, in this study the necessity of paying attention to locating procedures in emergency situations is pointed out and an outline for the studied case of disaster relief supply chain was discussed and the problem was validated at small scale. On the other hand, to solve this kind of problems involving three objective functions and complicated time calculation, meta-heuristic methods which yield almost optimum solutions in less time are applied. The EC method and NSGA II algorithm are among the evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithms applied in this case. In this study the aforementioned algorithm is used for solving problems at large scale.

ЕФЕКТИВНІСТЬ ЗАСТОСУВАННЯ АУТСОРСИНГУ НА РИНКУ ЛОГІСТИЧНИХ ПОСЛУГ

Logistics can be a catalyst for any company that provide rapid growth and development or, conversely, can slow down. Therefore, company executives should build business processes in the supply chain competently from the beginning and strictly follow the general line of development of the company but not related services. Fortunately, more and more companies are coming to understand the benefits of logistics outsourcing and outsource non-logistics functions to logistics operators. Involvement of a logistics operator (3PL-operator) provides the company with: transfer of costs from fixed the variable and the ability to manage them in short-term and long-term perspectives; cooperation with the professional operators which mean the use of the best logistics practices used in the industry; cost managing according to the SLA (Service Level Agreement) – cost management through the level of service provided. Cooperation with logistics operators allows you to get rid of non-core assets by outsourcing your own logistics infrastructure. However it cannot be considered a common trend in the environment. This is primarily due to the risk then such transformations can be carried out only when it is possible to minimize all possible risks. Otherwise, the company really risks that after working for some time on the terms discussed the logistics operators will suddenly dictate new terms of cooperation – either to increase its profitability or under external pressure. Other risks are not ruled out, so it is difficult for companies to decide on outsourcing. All these risks can be minimized by studying the logistics environment, evaluating the mail logistics operators offering outsourcing and selecting a logistics operators based on economic, environmental and others factors. Before announcing the winner companies had to conduct an audit of applicants, assess the level of security of the future partner, its stability, and analyze some financial results. After all it was not enough to get the partner to agree to work on the agreed terms – you need to be sure that it is within his power. It should be understood that the development of the logistics environment depends on many factors, one of the determinants is the attractiveness of the country for investors in logistics, as foreign experience and financial assets can help develop logistics infrastructure, staff training, applying new global logistics trends, which will simulate demand for logistics services, including outsourcing.

Intelligent service capacity allocation for cross-border-E-commerce related third-party-forwarding logistics operations: A deep learning approach

With the rise of “cross-border-e-commerce”, the third-party-forwarding-logistics (3PFL) service becomes increasingly popular. Different from the traditional third-party-logistics (3PL) service, the 3PFL company provides forwarding services cost-effectively by consolidating orders from different e-tailers/platforms. The random arrivals of orders create a big challenge. Different from most of the existing studies, a deep learning based one-step integration optimal decision making approach S2SCL(Seq2Seq based CNN-LSTM) is proposed in this paper which intelligently integrates inventory optimization and demand-forecasting process. The Seq2Seq based forecasting architecture, which integrates CNN and LSTM network, is able to model the system dynamics and dependency-relations in varying demand for logistics services. Besides generating the point forecasting results, the proposed approach can quantify demand uncertainty via a dynamic distribution and make optimal decision on logistics service capacity allocation. Through a case-study analysis with real data obtained from a 3PFL company in China’s Great Bay Area, we compare the proposed S2SCL with two benchmark models, including a one-step statistics based integration approach ARIMA and a two-step optimization based approach PSO-ELM, for two tasks: (1) point forecasting and (2) optimal logistic service capacity (LSC) allocation. Experimental results show that S2SCL outperforms the two benchmark models in both tasks significantly.

Drivers of logistics service innovation in Third Party Logistics business

The desire to focus on the company’s core business processes has impacted companies to outsource their logistics activities to Third Party Logistics (TPL). These conditions create the demand for logistics services so that the TPL business grows significantly. Service innovation from TPL holds a critical role in the development of logistics business clusters because TPL is a new growth source from the regional and national economy. What factors drive TPL business to innovate has not been much studied in the logistics research literature. Few studies have addressed drivers of logistics service innovation. Deficiency of empirical research on the drivers of logistics service innovation in TPL business, so that this paper study empirical studies on the factors that influence innovation in TPL business. This study aims to identify the factors that drive innovative logistics services from TPL business so that they can provide the basis for developing innovation in TPL. Content analysis of extant literature was conducted. This study found that a lot of knowledge about innovation drivers in TPL was identified in theoretical based, but many of these components were not implemented yet. This study shows that TPL will achieve successful operational performance if innovation is executed with suitable knowledge management so the TPL can achieve effective communication networks.
