Teachers’ Teaching Competence in Sport Dance Classes in a Chinese Cultural Activity Center: Basis for a New Pedagogical Framework Model

This paper explores the significance of teaching satisfaction within the realm of sports dance education, focusing on the learning environment of the Shijiazhuang Youth Science and Technology Culture Activity Center. With the rapid modernization of China's education system, there is an increasing emphasis on the integration of cultural knowledge and physical education. Sports dance, having been introduced to China in 1984, has gained popularity among teenagers for its blend of gentleman culture and competitive sports. Despite its deep mass foundation and widespread interest, the current quality of sports dance training in China is uneven, with a notable lack of professional teachers. This study aims to identify the factors influencing students' satisfaction with their sports dance teachers' instruction, and in doing so, enhance the overall learning experience and teaching effectiveness. By analyzing the teaching satisfaction survey of sports dance students, the paper reveals the main issues affecting the learning process and proposes suggestions to address these concerns, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the sports dance community and the professional growth of its educators. The study underscores the pivotal role of teachers in shaping students' competencies and attitudes, not only in dance but also in fostering a comprehensive educational experience that aligns with the progressive expectations of modern society.

Relief and improvement of traditional Chinese medicine combined with exercise therapy in sports dance sports injury disorder from a biomechanical perspective

Among all kinds of sports, competitive sports with graceful movements as the main content are deeply loved by athletes. However, in the practice of sports dance, due to insufficient skills, incorrect movements, inattention and other factors, it is easy to cause sports injuries, which affects the effect of sports dance teaching. Therefore, the research and application of the alleviation and improvement of sports injury disorders are becoming more and more important. Although there are many researches and applied studies on the mitigation and improvement of sports injury disorders in sports dance, the existing research still needs to be supplemented. In this paper, a combination of traditional Chinese medicine and exercise therapy has been discussed. First, the relevant theoretical overview and related work were organized, and the sports dance movement was introduced. Then, based on the modeling of sports injury disorder, related algorithms were written, and the elements of mitigation and improvement of sports injury disorder, sports injury elements of sports dance, and elements of traditional Chinese medicine combined with exercise therapy were introduced. In the fourth part, a study on the improvement of alleviation and improvement of sports injury disorder in sports dance was carried out. In this paper, various algorithms were used to study the topic of Chinese medicine combined with exercise therapy in the mitigation and improvement of sports dance injury disorders, and the experiments were summarized and discussed. The results of the study showed that the mitigation improvement and application study of sports injury impairment in sports dance constructed in this paper can reduce the incidence of sports injury by 4.62%.

THE MOTIVATION OF PRACTICING SPORTS DANCE DURING PHYSICAL EDUCATION LESSONS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE SELF-IMAGE

Background. Motivational dynamics is always manifested at the level of global behavior, which means that understanding the motivational orientation of behavior requires a systemic view of it. Objectives. Sports dance - whose specific means we used in the experimental study, are effective ways to develop the self-image, the motivational system and the motivation to achieve the self-image. 70 subjects participated in the research, students from different faculties within the University of Bucharest, based on registration in the sports dance class. Among them, 50 female students and 20 male students, aged between 19 and 25, first-year students at the University of Bucharest. All of them opted for the sports dance class at the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year. Sports dance lessons were held throughout the academic year according to the curriculum. Methods. The observation method: were monitored the indicators related to the efficiency of the execution, the improvement of the posture, of the body attitude, the efficiency of the communication, the relationship with the others, as relevant elements for the studied phenomenon. In addition to direct observation, the video camera and the computer were used. Speaking: using dialogue to obtain useful information. For the present research, the preferred subjects are: knowledge of the particularities of the motivational system; hierarchical organization of motives; knowledge of the conditional determinative and inhibiting factors for practicing of sports dance; evaluation and knowledge of the relationship between achievement motivation and self-image. Questionnaire-based survey: the questionnaire was developed to study self-image and self-esteem. It was developed and applied in order to study the importance that the subjects give to the sports dance practiced in the physical education class for the development of the motivation to realize the self-image. Statistical-mathematical method – statistical-mathematical processing of the data resulting from the questionnaire. Graphical representation method: Microsoft Excel was used. Results. The obtained results were ranked according to the score, tabulated, interpreted and presented graphically. Conclusion. The processing of the subjects results from the initial and final testing, highlights the awareness that has occurred on the benefits that the practice of physical exercises, in general and sports dance, in particular, brings to personal development. From the results of the study, it emerged that Sports Dance develops social intelligence, interpersonal relationships, communication ability, emotional intelligence, the ability to make voluntary effort, perceptive qualities.

THE STUDY OF THE SPATIO-TEMPORAL ORIENTATION ABILITY OF STUDENTS PRACTICING SPORTS DANCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BUCHAREST

Background. Sports dance is characterized by a complex coordination, its most important components being, in our opinion: the segmental, general and multisegmental coordination; the capacity of kinesthetic differentiation; the static and dynamic coordination, the ability of spatio-temporal orientation; the ability to perceive and reproduce musical rhythm and tempo. Sports dance lessons are held in the University of Bucharest with students who opt for this discipline without having a prior selection. In sports dance, all the motor capacities are involved in different weights, but we proposed for this study to analyze from the perspective of the coordinative capacities, the spatio-temporal orientation. Objectives. The subjects in this study are students in the 1st and 2nd years, belonging to different faculties of the university and they were divided into the control and the experimental groups. Both groups worked to test a salsa choreography during the lessons. In the experimental group, the choreography was practiced facing points 1,3,5,7, and in the control group, the choreography was practiced facing point 1. The test was realized with reference to point 5. Methods. The working methods used are observation, testing method, statistical-mathematical and graphical interpretation method. Results. The results were significantly better in the experimental group compared to the control group. The subjects in the experimental group were able to orient themselves better in space and time in a percentage of 85% and in the control group the percentage was about 30% Conclusion. We believe that the orientation in space and time can be improved by simple means, prepared by the teacher in the sports discipline, the methodological work being implemented according to the groups.

Leveraging Educational Technology in Liberal Arts Dance Sports: Exploring Effectiveness and Sustainable Application

This study explored the effectiveness and sustainable application of educational technology in a university liberal arts dance sports class. A qualitative case study was conducted with nine students enrolled in liberal arts physical education classes at S University in Seoul in 2023. It focused on how educational technology, including apps such as Pose & Tracking and Slopro, can enhance students’ understanding of dance movements, promote active discussion, and facilitate objective assessment. The findings indicate that the use of these technologies not only improved the students’ learning experiences by facilitating visualization and feedback but also supported collaborative learning and creative expression. This study highlights the potential of educational technology to enhance the quality of liberal arts physical education by making learning highly engaging and effective.

Sports ballroom dancing is a group of paired dances that are divided into two directions, “Latin” and standard, and, as a rule, were performed at balls held in large rooms covered with parquet. Dances are divided into elite (historikohousehold) and folk, characterized by several differences. Ballroom dances are paired, a man and a woman form a couple, as well as two women (“lady and lady”) and two men (“man and man”). In addition to doubles, there are single competitions “Solo Ladies”, where ladies perform dances without a partner. Ballroom dancing or dance sports has become very popular among young people in recent decades. Ballroom dancing has noticeably rejuvenated, attracting children, juniors and students to its ranks. Practicing sports and ballroom dancing requires development of all the muscles of the human body, the respiratory system, trains coordination and a sense of rhythm. Athletes, in addition to dancing, are actively engaged in special physical training, without which they will not be able to achieve high results.

Integrated Teaching Model: Teaching Sports Dance in Tertiary Education in China

In China, dance sports took a while to catch on but advanced quickly. The education system has to be improved, and its professional positioning is still unclear. Thus, it was timely to conduct a study on the teaching of sports dance. Using quantitative descriptive comparative correlational study, the study involved college students from five universities in China. It investigated the potential of an integrated teaching model in teaching sports dance in colleges and universities there. The study revealed that college students have high learning gains in dance sports courses regardless of their age, but low learning gains in class resources, learning attitudes, and integration. Moreover, they have different learning gains in sports dance courses in terms of class resources where 18 to 21 years old college students had a higher rating than those who were 21 to 23 years old. In terms of the teaching set, the college students evaluated high remarks to the teaching attitudes and interaction with students, unlike in the teaching methods where female students outperformed male students. Furthermore, this initiative offered a paradigm shift in teaching sports dance from a traditional to a student-centered approach. Also, the proposed study provided a significant contribution to the dearth of literature on teaching sports dance to college students. Lastly, the results of this study were the basis for the design of the integrated teaching model plan for sports dance courses in colleges and universities.

Managing Diversity among Students in Dance Sports: Inputs for Enhanced Learning Program

As to the observations of administrators, there are problems with inclusiveness in dance routines due to the existence of cultural differences. Considering inclusivity in dancing routines is crucial, especially in a world abundant with ethnic diversity. Dance, being a universally understood form of communication, allows individuals to express themselves; nonetheless, it can unintentionally marginalize people or communities whose cultural customs and traditions deviate from the prevailing standards. The choreographic decisions made by dance instructors or organizations frequently mirror the cultural origins of people in authoritative roles, leading to a limited portrayal of dance styles. The absence of inclusivity not only reduces the depth of the art form but also isolates dancers who may feel compelled to adhere to styles that do not align with their ethnic identities.Therefore, the recommendations of the administrators are curriculum enhancement, emphasis on inclusivity and equity on employing the range of instructional methods. The codes highlighted the efforts of instructors to establish inclusive and supportive settings that respect varied cultural origins. Nevertheless, it also highlights the necessity for more organized direction to guarantee uniformity in these endeavors. Implementing structured frameworks and providing comprehensive training can ensure a standardized approach, equipping all teachers with the necessary skills to create an inclusive atmosphere for their students. An environment that provides support in dancing sports is essential for the comprehensive growth of athletes. This environment promotes emotional fortitude, stimulates daring behavior, and nurtures a feeling of camaraderie among individuals involved. In the realm of dance sports, where the realms of artistic expression and physical prowess intersect, the presence of coaches, teammates, and families who provide support can have a tremendous influence on an athlete's success.

The Influence of Sports Dance on Self-esteem Among College Students

Background and Aims: College students' lives depend greatly on their sense of self-worth. It has an impact on their social interactions, emotional well-being, and academic achievement. Several issues can arise for college students, such as social pressures, anxiety related to appearance, and negative body image. These elements may damage their sense of self-worth, which subsequently impacts their general health and standard of living. Sports dance is a unique physical activity that combines artistic ability and physical prowess to positively impact college students' self-esteem. Sports dancing has also been linked to improvements in self-esteem and self-image in addition to physical health, according to earlier research. The two main goals of this study are to first compare the experimental group's self-esteem before and after they participated in sports dancing, and then to compare the experimental group's self-esteem with that of the control group. Methodology: This study included a sample of 20 third-year undergraduate students from the Dance Department, College of Art, Chongqing University of Mechanical and Electrical Technology. The samples were divided into two groups: 10 students, consisting of 5 female and 5 male students, in both the experimental and control groups. The experimental group used the sports dance training method, while the control group used the traditional teaching method. A self-designed, expert-reviewed Rosenberg's self-esteem scale was issued before and after the experiment to determine the influence of sports dance exercises on the self-esteem of the sample group. Data were analyzed using means, standard deviations, and t-tests. Result: Before engaging in sports dance training, the experimental group's mean self-esteem score was found to be 28.3, while the control group's mean score was 28.8 before receiving traditional instruction. Following the experiment, the experimental group's mean score on self-esteem increased to 35.6, while the control group's score stayed at 27.8. After taking the sports dance course, the experimental group felt more confident in themselves. The mean score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. Students in the experimental group demonstrated higher levels of engagement in class during sports dance training. When given chores involving dance, they showed initiative in solving problems and made their own choices. They conversed with people more and gained self-assurance when voicing their ideas. These findings imply that sports dancing significantly and favorably raised the students' self-esteem. Conclusion: The results show that sports dance programs can help students feel better about their bodies and have higher self-esteem. Students receive timely rewards throughout the sports dance learning process, which boosts their self-esteem in the classroom and promotes greater interaction between them. By working together to create dance performances, students improve their interpersonal skills and become fully immersed in a stimulating, dynamic, and demanding learning environment. This promotes a calm and pleasurable learning environment while also helping students develop their knowledge and skills and improving their communication skills. This study provides educational institutions and schools with a workable strategy for enhancing students' mental health by introducing sports dance courses. The results also highlight sports dance's potential as a useful tool for psychological intervention. Mental health practitioners might think about introducing elements of sports dance into psychotherapy sessions to help patients feel better about themselves.

Analysis of Mechanical Damage in Dance Training Under Artificial Intelligence Behavior Constraints

This study focuses on the application of artificial intelligence behavior constraints in the analysis of mechanical injuries in dance training, aiming to accurately analyze and effectively prevent mechanical injuries during dance training through the introduction of artificial intelligence technology. Dance, as a highly dependent art form on physical skills, often comes with a certain risk of mechanical injury during its training process. In this study, we first reviewed the relevant theories of mechanical injuries in dance training and analyzed the inherent relationship between dance movements and mechanical injuries. Subsequently, we utilized artificial intelligence technology to conduct behavior constraint analysis on the dance training process. By constructing a dance action recognition model, we achieved real-time monitoring and evaluation of dance training actions. On this basis, we further utilize the principles of mechanics to quantitatively analyze dance movements and extract key factors that affect mechanical damage. Through in-depth analysis and comparison, this study found that mechanical injuries in dance training are mainly influenced by various factors such as movement standardization, training intensity, and individual differences. We applied the theory of sports biomechanics to study sports dance injuries and analyzed the causes of athlete injuries. By exploring more scientific training methods and means, the correlation coefficients between main joint muscle strength, proprioception, tibialis anterior muscle imbalance response time, and rotational stability were measured to study proprioception training suitable for sports dance, adhering to the principle of gradual progression. In future sports dance rotation training, corresponding training should be carried out according to the characteristics of different rotation steps, providing reference for strengthening leg training and ankle training.

BRIEF LITERATURE REVIEW ON RUMBA MOVEMENT ANALYSIS

The analysis of sports dance mechanics is a topic of interest among researchers in recent years. Pengping Zhu (2004) studied classical ballet training combined with biodynamics and analyzed its correlation. Xiling Deng (2001) discussed mechanical issues in aerobic gymnastics. Latin dancers have radically different biomechanical demands than standard dancers (McCabe, T. R., Wyon, M., Ambegaonkar, J. P., Redding, E., 2013). In Latin American dances, both men and women follow a similar step pattern and often mirror each other's movements (Laird, W. & Laird, J., 2003). In order to be able to understand the motor content that supports the technical executions specific to sports dance, we need to be guided by the movement analysis models. In this sense Bota A. (2007), citing Rasch and Burke, presents stages of the model of biomechanical analysis of movement. Due to the complexity of dance steps and specific combinations, sports dance is an extremely demanding field, being approached by the performance field, so it requires many hours of training to achieve general and specific physical training.

The abstract will have 7...10 lin The arbitration criteria in sport dance, established by the WDSF and FRDS regulations, form the basis for the activities that referees undertake to assess the technical, artistic, and sports performance quality of dance couples. The research aims to analyze the results of 16 Romanian dancers (aged 15-18) in official competitions, specifically the finalist couples of the National Section Championship, Youth Latin – 2022. This includes their participation and results at DanceMasters, Bucharest 2022 – WDSF Open Youth Latin, WDSF World Championship – 2022, WDSF European Championship – 2022 (for the two couples representing Romania), and the National Section Championship, Youth Latin – 2023, considering their placement in the competition, performance in the rumba dance, and the scores awarded by each judge in the competition jury. Using IBM SPSS Statistics 20, we compared the results recorded from one competition to another throughout a competitive year, specifically between National Section Championships. The analysis highlights the importance of close collaboration between physical preparation and athletes’ performance. The obtained results demonstrate the validity of the working hypothesis that the dynamics of performances in national and international competitions can effectively influence the physical training efficiency of sports dancers.

Impact of Technology in Dance Sports: How Digital Tools are Changing Training and Performance

This research examined demographic characteristics, techniques of incorporating technology, disparities in evaluation, and obstacles encountered by coaches. The results of our study indicate that a significant proportion of participants are women (61%), aged between 18 and 20 (62%), and are spread throughout several academic years. Participants sometimes use technology into their training, mostly with dance technology and software. Although there are no notable disparities in terms of sex, age, or academic year, there is a substantial difference between first-year and third-year students in terms of their technology integration evaluation. The influence of technology on performance remains consistently mild across several aspects like as technique, timing and musicality, posture and alignment, frame and connection, choreography, style and creativity, and showmanship. The challenges encountered by coaches in technology integration include restricted availability in rural regions, financial difficulties, shortages in technical expertise, language obstacles, and managing restrictions related to competitiveness. The presence of resistance to change among athletes also presents a difficulty. The consequences indicate a need for customized training programs and resources to improve the technological proficiency of coaches and participants. Suggested measures include the establishment of technology resource centers, provision of specialized training platforms, and cultivation of cooperation with technology specialists.

Influence of VR-Assisted College Dance on College Students' Physical and Mental Health and Comprehensive Quality

With the development and the popularization of sports dance, sports dance teaching has become a required elective course in universities. Sports dance can not only improve students' comprehensive quality, but also affect college students' healthy psychology. The use of VR (Virtual Reality) technology in dance education will definitely develop and promote dance education. This paper studies an effective feature extraction method for the characteristics of dance movements based on VR. The edge features of all video images in each segment are accumulated into one image, and the directional gradient histogram features are extracted from it. The results show that compared with the current robust regression method and cascade regression method, our method has higher positioning accuracy on the pollution test set, and more than 75% of the sample errors in this method are within 0.1. This also verifies the effectiveness of this motion recognition algorithm for dance motion recognition. Dance can effectively resist the psychological barriers of college students and improve their comprehensive quality.
