The completely rotationally resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectrum of the perdeutero cyclopentadienyl radical, C 5D 5, is obtained in a supersonic free jet expansion. Combination of the rotational constants of C 5D 5 with those previously obtained for C 5D 5 allow the determination of the r 0 structure. A discussion of the radical's geometry is based upon this structure as well as the observed nuclear spin statistics, the inertial defect, and the Jahn-Teller distortion parameters.
