Non enzymatic colorimetric detection of glucose using cyanophenyl boronic acid included β-cyclodextrin stabilized gold nanoparticles

Gold nanoparticles generated and stabilized by a β-cyclodextrin–cyano phenyl boronic acid complex enable the colorimetric detection of glucose.

Preparation and Spectral Characterization of New Azo Imidazole Ligand 2-[(2`-Cyano Phenyl) Azo]-4,5-Diphenyl Imidazole and its Complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg (II) Ions

The preparation and spectral characterization of complexes for Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Zn(II) and Hg(II) ions with new organic heterocyclic azo imidazole dye as ligand 2-[(2`-cyano phenyl) azo ]-4,5-diphenyl imidazole ) (2-CyBAI) were prepared by reacting a dizonium salt solution of 2-cyano aniline with 4,5-diphenyl imidazole in alkaline ethanolic solution .These complexes were characterized spectroscopically by infrared and electronic spectra along with elemental analysis‚ molar conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The data show that the ligand behaves a bidantate and coordinates to the metal ion via nitrogen atom of azo and with imidazole N3 atom. Octahedral environment is suggested for all metal complexes.

Two-dimensional ferromagnetic intermolecular interactions in crystals of the p-cyanophenyl nitronyl nitroxide radical

The crystal structure of the p-cyanophenyl nitronyl nitroxide [2-(4-cyanophenyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-4,5-dihydro-1-H-imidazol-1-oxyl 3-N-oxide, abbreviated as p-CNPNN] radical has been solved. It belongs to the orthorhombic system, space group Ic2a, with a= 10.482(2)A, b= 26.615(5)A, c=9.903(2)A and Z= 8. The asymmetric unit contains two independent radical molecules. The intermolecular contacts between the cyano phenyl groups and the nitroxide groups form a quasi-square lattice. The magnetic susceptibility has been measured in the temperature range 1.8–300 K. The temperature dependence of the paramagnetic susceptibility above 4 K can be explained by the ferromagnetic squarelattice Heisenberg model with J/kB= 0.75 K. Two-dimensionality of the crystal is also confirmed by single-crystal electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra.

Crystal structure of mesogenic material – 2-(4′-cyano phenyl)-5-n-heptyl-l,3 dioxane

Abstract The crystalline form of 2-(4′-cyano phenyl)-5-n heptyl-1,3 dioxane C18NO2H25 is orthorhombic and is assigned to space group P212121 with four molecules per unit cell. The cell parameters are a = 5.5450(2) Å, b = 7.7334(3) Å, c = 41.0765(2) Å. D calc = 1.082 Mg · m−3. The structure was refined to an R = 0.07 for 840 counter intensities. The molecule is linear. The packing of the molecules shows a strong layered arrangement. This mesogenic compound exhibits a smectic phase in the range 53–55°C during heating and 55–42°C during cooling.

Cyanosugars III : The reaction of trimethylsilyl cyanide with keto, epoxy and acetal derivatives of carbohydrates

Reaction of methyl 2-acetamido-4,6- O -benzylidene-2-deoxy-α- D - ribo -hexopyranosid-3-ulose with Me 3SiCN afforded methyl 2-acetamido-4,6- O -benzylidene-3- C -cyano-2-deoxy-3- O -trimethylsilyl-α- D - allo - Reaction of ethyl 4,6-di- O -acetyl-2,3-anhydro-α- D -mannopyranoside with Me 3SiCN gave the corresponding ethyl 4,6-di- O -acetyl-2- C -cyano-2-deoxy-α- D -glucopyranoside. Reaction of methyl 4,6- O -benzylidene-2,3-anhydro-α- D -allopyranoside or methyl 4,6- O -benzylidene-2,3-di- O -tosyl-α- D -glucopyranoside with Me 3SiCN at - 75° or - 50° gave the corresponding methyl 6- O -[(R)-cyano phenyl methyl]-α- D -glyco-pyranosides with high or total regio and stereoselectivity.
