Cultural Tourism Prospects of Bhaleswor Mahadev of Chandragiri Area, Kathmandu

This paper makes an attempt to examine prospects of cultural tourism of Bhaleswor Mahadev in Chandragiri area of Kathmandu by applying cultural heritage studies perspectives. It is a cultural study of completely qualitative nature. Throughout the world, the tourism industry has been an economic generator including conserving the heritage sites. The study area is Chandragiri municipality - 4 and the major historical and religious sites in the foothill of Mahabharat hill range of Chandragiri. Bhaleswor Mahadev temple is situated on the top of the Chandragiri hill in the southwest of Kathmandu valley in 13 km. The shape of the hill looks like a Bhale (rooster) and Nilkantha Mahadev stayed in this hill for some time and at that time heard the sound of rooster so this Mahadev is called Bhaleswor Mahadev. Due to this temple, pilgrims and tourists are increasing day by day to go to Chandragiri hill through cable car. Bhaleswor Mahadev temple and Chandragiri cable car add more benefit in promotion of cultural tourism of Chandragiri area. One can easily go to worship Bhaleswor Mahadev through cable car within twelve minutes. One can observe spectacular view of the Himalayan range of Annapurna range, Langtang range, Everest and other mountains like Cho Oyu, Gaurisankhar etc from the top of the hill. Chandragiri cable car is the second commercial cable car of Nepal. Chandragiri area is very important from historical, cultural and archaeological point of view. The other major historical and religious sites of Chandragiri area in the foothill of Mahabharat hill range are Mahalaxmi Temple, Chandanvarateswor Mahadev, Matatirtha and Machchhe Narayan. These sites give more importance in the development of cultural tourism of Chandragiri area. Despite these studies, there is still hardly found scholarship of cultural tourism prospects of Bhaleswor Mahadev in Chandragiri area, Kathmandu. Therefore, this paper aims to address the gap of cultural tourism of Chandragiri area.

Rancang Bangun Sistem Informasi Wisata Budaya (Studi Kasus Kabupaten Bandung)

This Cultural Tourism Information System is constructed with the purpose of seeking information about cultural tourism and cultural objects in the Bandung Regency area. Besides providing cultural tourism information, this cultural tourism information system is employed to discover various cultural tourism events within the Bandung Regency region. Through this research, it is anticipated that it will be beneficial for cultural tourism promotion and aiding in the advancement of local cultural objects in the Bandung Regency. The research method applied is the Rational Unified Process with the utilization of Unified Modeling Language in modeling, while testing is conducted through the BlackBox Testing method. This application is developed using the Laravel Framework and Bootstrap, The results of the implementation show that the overall constructed information system aligns with user requirements. From the conducted User Acceptance Test (UAT), the average parameter results were as follows: design 3.89 (77.9%), features 3.76 (75.3%), and user satisfaction 4.20 (84.2%).

Positioning UAE archaeological sites in tourism supply chains

Purpose The purpose of this study is to address the relevance of archaeological heritage in the context of supply chains for the tourism industry. It does so by providing converging ideas on the usefulness of individual sites, not in their strict scientific or latent value but as an enhancer for optimizing cultural production in a wider scenario of aggregate demand.Design/methodology/approach While examples from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) illustrate this reasoning, the underlying principles have a widespread application and point to a need for defragmenting and realigning tangible heritage as a key production factor. Methods used consist of an inductive approach, based on secondary sources and semi-structured interviews.Findings Results indicate that, while archaeological resources remain central to the promotion of cultural tourism in the UAE, suppliers face challenges when incorporating particular sites into consumer-friendly packages.Practical implications The study contributes to the identification of common risks and opportunities for archaeological resource management in the development of UAE tourism products.Originality/value This represents an original angle, given the focus on the specific regional, cooperative added value of archaeological resources and the need for optimizing them in a functional supply chain.

Utilization of Communication Technology as a Promotional Media in Cultural Tourism in Bandung

Bandung, known as "stunning Bandung" through its new branding by the Ministry of Tourism, requires effective communication technology to align with the development of tourism and attract public interest in visiting the city. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach aimed at providing a systematic, factual, and accurate description of the utilization of communication media as a means to promote cultural tourism in Bandung. The research findings reveal that the city of Bandung has embraced communication technology for their cultural tourism promotion. This includes the utilization of websites and various social media platforms such as Instagram, websites, and YouTube to engage with potential tourists.

THE CLANIC PANEGYRIC OF THE MAHI COMMUNITY OF SAVALOU AS A BASE FOR PROMOTING CULTURAL TOURISM IN THE TERRITORY

Nowadays, the neglect and disappearance of family eulogies can be seen, and the new approach to territorial development requires that cultural heritage be taken into account through its safeguarding and promotion. The general objective of this study is to contribute to the safeguarding and enhancement of the eulogies of the Mahi community of Savalou for the promotion of cultural tourism. To achieve this objective, the study combined both qualitative and quantitative methods applied to a sample of 139 people in the 09 districts that make up the Mahi community of the territory on the basis of questionnaires, inventory sheets and an audio recorder. This target group includes community intellectuals (dah...), large wives (nan, yao, houessi), senior citizens and some young people. The different collection techniques and tools made it possible to collect enough data. 20 family panegyrics have been identified in the community in terms of results, and are supported by at least 02 prohibitions each, 01 to 02 rhythms are associated with the declamation of the panegyric. At the end of the study, the need to safeguard the eulogies was noted, due to the young generation's lack of knowledge of this cultural heritage.

PHILOSOPHICAL MEANING OF KLANA UDENG MASK MOVIE

Nowadays, the traditional art of masks from Indramayu can still be found in various art forms, such as mask dance and mask puppetry. In its development, the art of mask tradition was adapted to the medium of film. When adapted into the medium of film, the mask dance performance art changes its function to become part of the educational media and part of the cultural tourism promotion in fulfilling the need to maintain the existence of the traditional art of masks to remain sustainable. This research aims to see the changes that occur and the meanings that arise from the traditional art adapted from mask dance into a movie entitled Klana Udeng Mask and identify the philosophical meanings in the movie. To comprehend the changes and meanings from the traditional art adapted from mask dance into a movie entitled Klana Udeng Mask, the researcher uses qualitative research using visual semiotics. In this research, the movie Klana Udeng Mask is interpreted with a semiotic approach from Roland Barthes. The movie Klana Udeng Mask has a philosophical meaning about gratitude and maintaining the relationship between humans and God Almighty. This philosophical meaning is evident in the opening scene of the mask dancers praying to God Almighty and the closing scene of them performing grateful praying movements to God Almighty. Changes in semiotic meaning in the Klana Udeng Mask movie affect the visual signs of the elements in the movie.

Beyond the tourism-led-development logic: the role of art and culture in outlining new spatial planning policies in post- pandemic Lezha.

The article deals with art interventions’ role in developing new spatial planning solutions for the Lezha region in the post-pandemic era, from a perspective of social and economic sustainability. Lezha is a strategic area for tourism development in Albania, but this opportunity also gives way to some emerging issues in its development, most of which have been further emphasized by the pandemics: the main one is avoiding the development of an economic model entirely dependent on tourism and improving locals’ quality of life by addressing an increasing need for quality public spaces and participation. In fact, as demonstrated by the pandemics, tourism’s revenue is not always a reliable economic source. Furthermore, when planning economic strategies to make a region wealthier, it is crucial to think about parallel social interventions to improve locals’ quality of life. The article explores on the one hand art’s potentialities linked to placemaking, critical reflection, creation of sense of belonging and locals’ involvement, thus going beyond the mere promotion of cultural tourism, on the other hand its limits: the final aim should not be to create one more “open air museum”, but to address public interest. Finally, the paper suggests some possible applications in Lezha, including a program of artistic residencies to be organized once a year in collaboration with agro-tourisms in Zadrima, with the objective of introducing socially engaged art projects all over the region.

Development of Cultural Tourism in Kutu Wetan Village with Community Involvement to Increase Local Wealth

One of the most important parts of the tourist industry all around the world is cultural tourism. Through the utilization of cultural tourism, tourism villages are able to utilize it as a source of income for the community. This study's objective was to investigate and evaluate several approaches to the promotion of cultural tourism in Kutu Wetan Village, Ponorogo. Participatory observation and in-depth interviews were utilized as components of a qualitative data collecting approach for the purpose of gathering the aforementioned information. The research team conducted interviews with the chief of Kutu Wetan Village, members of the surrounding communities, and officials from the regional administration. In addition, researchers participate in cultural events in Ponorogo, such as the Reog Ponorogo Festival, in order to gauge the community's level of interest in maintaining its cultural tourism and preserve its traditions. The findings demonstrated that cultural tourism plays an important role among the many goods and services offered by the tourist industry. On the other hand, there is still a need to improve support from both the government and the community through promoting involvement in the development of tourist initiatives. The growing sense of pride that local people have in their culture can have an effect on the competitive advantage that sustainable tourism enjoys.

Community as a Medium for Promoting Cultural Tourism (Study on Ternate Heritage Society Community)

A community is a forum where individuals gather to form a group that takes the initiative to start a process of activities that can improve the situation and condition oneself to carry out positive actions to solve community welfare problems. In addition, the community plays an active role as a forum for distributing various information and promoting tourist attractions. This study explores tourism promotion through a community, especially cultural tourism in Ternate City, North Maluku, Indonesia. This community is called the Ternate heritage Society Community (THS). This study used an ethnographic qualitative approach, and data collection was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study was conducted in Ternate City using Charmaz's approach. The results of this study show that THS has used a community branding strategy as a form of cultural tourism promotion in Ternate City. Based on the findings, the community covers two aspects—Branding and medium of Promotion. In terms of branding, it can be defined that branding of a cultural community refers to cultural identity, agent of change, and internalized cultural values. Six indicators formed this definition—existing role models, establishing community categories, being motivated, timelines, and character uniqueness of the community. Regarding the medium of Promotion, THS has been an agent of Promotion by optimizing digital marketing for millennials. Future studies are also suggested on promoting cultural heritage to the youth.

Research on Cultural Innovation of Tourism Products in Old Revolutionary Areas under the Background of Cultural Tourism

The Jinggang Mountain area has a deep cultural heritage and a variety of high-quality red tourism resources. It has the natural advantage of promoting the upgrading of tourism industry and achieving innovative development of red tourism based on cultural tourism integration. However, in the past tourism development, it still remains in the primary stage. A series of problems such as the lack of deep red cultural connotation, the level of service to be strengthened, the development of tourism resources and environmental protection contradictions are intensifying. Facing this situation, this paper fully exploits the value of red tourism resources in Jinggang Mountain to promote red culture inheritance by studying innovative forms of cultural tourism promotion, using Internet technology to create a cloud tourism platform, and building a complete tourism ecosystem.

Costumes and Make-Ups as Historical Impetus for Cultural Revival in The Celebration of Osun Osogbo Festival, Osogbo, Nigeria

The objectives of the study are to understand the history behind the celebration of the Osun Osogbo festival and identify various costumes and make-ups being used at the festival vis-a-vis establish both the cultural and aesthetic significance of the Festival and how this can in turn promote cultural tourism. Both cultural and aesthetic significance of costume and makeup and cultural tourism promotion, with a look at the famous Osun Osogbo festival, were focused on in this case study. Qualitative data were collected which includes Participatory Observation, Focused Group Discussions, and Key Informant interviews in an ethnographic setting. Textbooks, relevant journals and seminar papers, and video clips of the past Osun Osogbo festival were content analysed. Therefore, this work is limited to how the costume and makeup used in the festival can contribute to the development of cultural tourism.

Media Informasi Wisata Kampung Adat Kuta Sebagai Salah Satu Aspek Dalam Perencanaan Pariwisata

Diseminasi informasi merupakan salah satu suatu upaya yang digunakan untuk kegiatan promosi pariwisata budaya. Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan adalah untuk mengetahui proses rancang bangun model diseminasi informasi untuk kegiatan promosi objek wisata budaya kampung adat Kuta, Desa Karangpaningal, Kecamatan Tambaksari, Kabupaten Ciamis, Jawa Barat. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian action research yang dilakukan berdasarkan pada pola Kurt Lewin yakni dimulai dari perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Adapun yang subjek dalam penelitian adalah masyarakat kampung adat kuta yang diwakili oleh ketua data, tokoh masyarakat kampung adat kuta, serta kepala dusun. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari sumber data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dengan narasumber serta hasil observasi lapangan. Sedangkan untuk data sekundernya diperoleh dari berbagai literatur baik dalam bentuk cetak maupun bentuk elektronik. Untuk teknik analisis datanya dilakukan dengan melakukan reduksi data, penyajian atau display data serta melakukan penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa belum adanya media informasi yang digunakan secara khusus untuk mempromosikan objek wisata kampung adat Kuta dalam bentuk leaflet dan booklet. Berdasarkan tahapan action research Kurt Lewin, dalam perencanaan peneliti melakukan perencanaan berdasarkan perencanaan komunikasi atau strategi komunikasi yakni mulai dari memilih komunikator, menyusun pesan, menentukan media, dan menentukan komunikan.

Analyzing cultural tourism promotion on Instagram: a cross-cultural perspective

ABSTRACT A lack of cross-cultural research has been identified regarding cultural tourism promotion on social media. Using the dimensions of Collectivism-Individualism, Power Distance, and High-Context vs. Low-Context communication, we content analyze cultural value differences in Instagram posts promoting cultural tourism – published by the national tourism organizations of Chile, Portugal, USA, and Netherlands. In addition, an automated content analysis is conducted using the software LIWC2015 to examine linguistic differences between collectivist and individualist destinations’ posts. Findings show that cultural tourism promotion on Instagram differs across cultures, highlighting the importance of adapting online content when addressing culturally distant markets.

Improvement of development and promotion of the product of cultural tourism of the Khmelnytskiy region on the international market

This paper deals with investigation of cultural tourism potential of Khmelnitsky region of Ukraine. The main methods and directions of Khmelnytskiy region's cultural tourism product design and promotion are explored. The creation of consortium of cultural heritage tourism stakeholders that promote visitation, prolonged stays, and present a unified voice for Khmelnitsky region to foster quality stewardship of local cultural heritage assets is substantiated. The ways for conducting partnership and collaboration inside Khmelnitsky region tourism development field are proposed. The creation of 4 sections strategy of Khmelnytskiy region's cultural tourism development is grounded. There are: 1. Popularization of tourist and recreational potential of Khmelnitsky region and creation of modern positive tourist image; 2. Development and improvement of tourist and recreational infrastructure of the region; 3. Improving the competitiveness of tourist products of the region; 4. Development of marketing and advertising and information activities of the tourism industry in Khmelnitsky region. The evaluation of cultural tourism product design and promotion in Khmelnytskiy region effectiveness is calculated. The specific tour route (Kyiv - Starokostiantyniv - Samchyky – Medzhibizh – Kyiv) for Khmelnytskiy region's cultural tourism promotion with preliminary calculation of tourism product cost is proposed. The forecasting of cultural tourism product further designing & promotion in Khmelnytskiy region as a whole and using specific separate tours (social connectivity, local gastronomy, pilgrimage tourism etc.) is substantiated. After our investigation through global tourism trends, we decided to point out some of separate local tours. “Stay like a local” is a key trend among travelers seeking cultural authenticity as they look to have a more real local experience by sharing accommodation with locals. Social connectivity is an emerging trend among cultural tourists as travelers show more concern towards social issues and are aware of the positive impact they can have. Exploring local gastronomy enables travelers to hone their culinary skills and experience different aspects of their destination’s everyday life. With pilgrimage tourism undergoing continuous transformations in recent years, pilgrimages or religious tourism is considered a subset of cultural tourism and pay a key role in Khmelnytskiy region. The competition of Khmelnytskiy region's cultural tourism on the world tourist market is investigated. There are the main factors of Khmelnytskiy region competition growing in tourism field: the emergence of an increasing number of countries that choose tourism and resorts of Khmelnytskiy region as a priority area of economic development; fierce competition at the level of corporate strategies (including cases of rapid price reduction - dumping); achieving natural maxima of some forms and types of tourism offered by Khmelnytskiy region.

This research aims to study get the real understanding about efforts the recovery of cultural tourism after ethnic conflict Madura-Malayu in Sambas District Sambas Regency. Then, to see the problem development cultural tourism and effort of stakeholder to develop tourism in Sambas District. This research used qualitative method. Result of this research are stakeholder have the effort to develop the cultural tourism such as increase the infrastructure, increases human resources management, keep the safety of this regions and gave the promotion of cultural tourism. They have the difficulties of increase the development likes need more integrity of stakehoder beside this; they haven’t good relationship with the Madura Ethnic although many people tried well come to all the ethnic for come to Sambas District.

Cultural Policy - Significant Challenges of the Georgian Government

The paper examines and discusses the role and place of culture in the formation of a modern peaceful environment based on the study of empirical material. Culture is presented - as the World’s Sustainable Development – in the field of economical activation and empowerment of social and environmental components; the importance of Georgian culture and its interconnection with tourism, as it fosters the promotion, and at the same time, draws a special interest toward the cultural tourism. This creates a common promotion of cultural tourism and contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage, the establishment of harmony and mutual understanding between people; is studied the development of cultural tourism attractions. Georgia's example demonstrates the importance of UNESCO-led projects and collaborations on unique cultural features; it aims to preserve the history of statehood and its originality, respect independence and faiths, etc., thus, promoting them in the world. The data presented in the paper show that with the active involvement of the authorities the current year (2019), (despite the problem in the country’s tourism sector) the positive trend of the increasing number of visitors has been maintained in the protected areas of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture. The paper examines the efforts of Georgian authorities to create a certain environment and a fertile ground for the preservation of national heritage, cultural diversity and its new perceptions, the development of creative activities and the diversification of cultural life.
