Storytelling in the Digital Age: Examining the Role and Effectiveness in Communication Strategies of Social Media Content Creators

This research examines the factors influencing storytelling effectiveness in social media content creation. The research objectives are to explore the role of storytelling and understand its impact on content creation strategies. A case study approach is employed, with a purposively selected content creator as the primary participant. In-depth interviews are conducted, and thematic analysis is used to analyze the data. Findings highlight the importance of authenticity, relatability, and visual appeal in engaging the audience. Real experiences and values establish trust and connections with the audience, while high-quality visuals enhance the storytelling experience. Emotional engagement, concise storytelling, and active audience engagement also emerge as key factors. The research contributes to understanding effective communication strategies for content creators on social media platforms. By leveraging authenticity, relatability, visual appeal, emotional engagement, concise storytelling, and active audience engagement, content creators can enhance their storytelling strategies. The study acknowledges the limitations of a single case study and subjective interpretations.

Exploring users' content creation and information dissemination behavior in social media: The moderating effect of social presence

Users' personality traits reveal different social media behavior characteristics. In order to explore the intrinsic relationships between personality traits and social media behavior, this study analyzes the influence of users' personality traits on social media content creation and information dissemination behavior, as well as the moderating effect of social presence. We collect users' personality data via questionnaires, crawl social media behavior data of samples from social media sites, and then establish regression models to test the research hypotheses. The results show that extraversion has a positive impact on content creation and information dissemination behavior, conscientiousness has a negative impact on content creation behavior, openness and agreeableness have no significant impact on social media behavior, and social presence has significant moderating effects on the relationships between personality traits and social media behavior.

OK OC ADMA Yogyakarta is a social movement for job creation. The entrepreneurship andpeople's economy movement initiated by OK OC ADMA aims to be able to createindependence and a lot of jobs for the people of Indonesia. In addition, OK OC ADMAYogyakarta provides business stalls for entrepreneurs based on IT and provides businesscoaching and training as well as entrepreneurship guidance. However, the members of OKOC ADMA Yogyakarta still have limited knowledge in product photos and the applicationof technology, especially the creation of social media content to make it easier for membersto promote their business products. So, in this community service activity, counseling isgiven to members about the science of product photography and the photo editing processusing a smartphone so that it becomes content that can be a promotional media. The methodused for the first time was counseling OK OC ADMA members about the importance ofproduct photos and digital promotions to increase sales. After knowing the theory, thetraining participants applied product photo techniques using cellphones and registered forsocial media, such as Facebook Business and Instagram. Then the participants download aphoto editing application and start creating content using the product photos they alreadyhave. From the results of the counseling carried out by the service, product photos and thecreation of promotional content can be done independently in the future. Product photos andphoto editing so that they become promotional content can ease the burden on entrepreneursin promoting all over through online media, which can indirectly help increase the reach oftheir product promotions.

AHP Approach for Determining Category in Social Media Content Creation in Order to Maximize Revenue per Mille (RPM)

This study utilizes the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in the selection of an optimal niche or category of videos for maximizing view count. The main income from videos is derived from RPM, which is a set amount per thousand views. A set of criteria was determined from attributes in the dataset that logically contribute to either the videos’ SEO or trend/popularity. The criteria in question were also determined by commonalities across a vast number of video content platforms, which focus more on the essential attributes of a video. In order to perform pairwise comparison, weights were derived from coefficients generated using Linear Regression. Following the creation of the model, we identify the categories with the highest potential for gaining views. Based on the results, the study may be performed in another time frame to reflect the major shifts in public interest over time. Swamp wader chips are one of the snacks or snacks made from wader fish. The nutritional content of swamp wader fish is very high, this can be used as an alternative to providing nutritious food at affordable prices for all people. Some of the wader swamp iwak chips businesses are still on the scale of home industries or micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). One of the SMEs that sells wader swamp fish chips is the SMEs "Kriwakz". The production process is still done traditionally. The selling price of Kriwakz chips has not carefully calculated the cost of production. Packaging of wader Kriwakz fish chips using a sealer adhesive manually. The existence of the covid 19 pandemic is a blessing for Kriwakz SMEs because the demand for Kriwakz chips has increased sharply. Consumers prefer to make purchases online, so buyers of Kriwakz chips are spread from Sabang to Merauke. Kriwakz SMEs require understanding and training on digital marketing in the creation of social media content. The first priority solution is to facilitate Kriwakz SMEs in making digital marketing, training content creation to be uploaded on social media Facebook and Instagram. Second, the procurement of automatic packing tools to overcome the speed of sales service to consumers. The outputs of this PKMS are an increase in sales turnover, an increase in product quantity, an increase in understanding and digital marketing skills of Kriwakz SMEs. Fostering Media Literacy Skills in the EFL Virtual Classroom: A Case Study in the COVID-19 Lockdown Period

This investigation highlights the ways and means of students’ formation of media literacy skills under the conditions of total and emergent distance learning in the lockdown period of the COVID-19 pandemic. The case study involved 138 first-year students from Sumy National Agrarian University, Ukraine, who studied English as a foreign language (EFL). Analysis, synthesis, and generalization of scientific data were conducted to determine the requirements and materials for the survey. Media literacy of the participants in the experimental group was developed through performance of a series of social media projects, critical analysis of social media texts, and creation of social media content. Pedagogical observation and expert estimation were employed to obtain qualitative results of partiucipants’ progress during practical classes and extracurricular activities. Psychological techniques and mathematical methods were employed to measure and assess the quantitative data of the experiment. The outcomes of the study revealed the positive dynamics of the development of reflective-evaluative, collaborative, and searching-creative skills of participants in the experimental group as well as improvement in their English proficiency. The result of this study is potentially appropriate for educators who are interested in the application of media technologies in foreign-language teaching.

Framework for the Creation of Ethical and Professional Social Media Content.

Social media are powerful tools that allow users to communicate directly with an online community. Plastic surgeons were early adopters of social media, recognizing their educational and marketing potential. With the use of social media comes ethical and legal concerns. The lack of professional society policies on social media use has led to calls for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons to establish guidelines regarding the use of social media in medical practice. The authors propose a framework for the creation of ethical and professional social media content. The authors reviewed the updated American Society of Plastic Surgeons Code of Ethics, current professional organization codes of ethics and social media guidelines, recently published articles, and legal documents pertaining to social media use in medical practice. The updated American Society of Plastic Surgeons Code of Ethics provides adequate guidance for the professional use of social media in plastic surgery practice. The authors drew on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Code of Ethics along with existing professional society guidelines to develop a framework for the professional and ethical creation of social media content. The authors also propose a sample informed consent form for social media use. Social media are powerful tools that will continue to transform the practice of plastic surgery and medicine at large. Plastic surgeons must uphold values of professionalism and ethics when using social media to protect patients and maintain the high professional standards of the specialty.
