Understanding the linkage between slow paced breathing (SPB), slow cortical potentials (SCP) and the human consciousness could help to improve practicing strategies in the field of mental well-being. Providing 25 individuals performing two different breathing cycles (6s-cycle and 10s-cycle), which were accompanied by the sound of a humming gong, while measuring a 64-channel EEG, our study provides an insight into the relationship between SPB and SCPs. More importantly, it points out the greater impact of the 10s-cycle on SCPs than the 6s-cycle. Breathing with a frequency of 0.1Hz led to an increased SCP-amplitude ratio as well as to a synchronization of SCPs with the breathing rhythm. Also, non-SCP frequencies were considered. Here, the 10s-cycle showed the increased appearance of delta (ES_t = 3.52), theta (ES_t = 4.11), and alpha 1 (ES_t = 3.47) frequencies, especially in the occipital and central parietal regions. Moreover, subjectively, the SPB intervention has been rated to evoke an increased feeling of "integrity" and "balance" as well as a slightly increased feeling of "vitality". Demonstrating the relation between SPB, SCPs, and subjective mental feeling, this study contributes to emphasizing the importance of SPB in mental health.

ABSTRACT Sverkzadacha (superobjective, supertask) is a key term in Stanislavsky’s system and, arguably, the most troublesome. His scattered remarks are ambiguous, metaphorical, and often contradictory, and his direct explanations are unacceptable when they run counter to the overall course of his teaching, promoting or even imposing general, flat formulas that easily turn into clichés. This essay attempts to collect, structure, and analyse Stanislavsky’s instructions and notes on the topic, rejecting objectivist interpretations of the supertask and finally arriving at the ground of contemporary neuroscience. As in many other cases, Stanislavsky’s practice and reflection gave him insights into the workings of human consciousness that he could not formulate in the categories of his time. Now, the pursuit of the sverkhzadacha he describes strongly resembles the operation of human awareness towards the greatest possible homoeostasis in the given conditions and against the given challenges, as described by Gerald Edelman and Giulio Tononi. Even Stanislavsky’s ambiguities reflect the dynamic character of such a pursuit: his contradictions delineate the polarized dimensions of the space in which an organism seeks balance. The overall situation, in which the striving takes place, changes in every moment and is so complicated that it eludes any categorization and, hence, verbalization. It is therefore unrepeatable, and for the conscious mind, it appears as an overarching quale, which is again consistent with Edelman and Tononi’s hypotheses.

Natural states of consciousness are thought to be regulated by deep brain structures such as the thalamus. However, very little is known about the underlying electrophysiology in humans. Here, using a rare opportunity to directly record from the human thalamus, we identify a hitherto-unreported brain-state-specific oscillation of approximately 19-45 Hz. This oscillation is present only during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep and wakefulness, while being absent during non-REM sleep. The 19-45 Hz oscillation further distinguishes REM sleep microstates, co-occurring with bursts of eye movements, and is specific to the central thalamus, a structure implicated in causing global brain state transitions. The discovery of a distinct oscillatory signature in the central thalamus that distinguishes conscious states opens up avenues to further investigate thalamic contributions to states of consciousness in humans and potentially to refine interventions to treat disorders of consciousness.

This essay, an evolving psychoanalytic manifesto, contemplates the “state of the world,” arguing that we are facing imminent symbolic collapse. It invites psychoanalysis to recognize that the loss of conventional, historic anchors and entrenched polarities and hierarchies, while eliciting fear for many, also unleashes a possibly unprecedented acceleration of human and planetary consciousness. The author proposes that psychoanalysis embraces a “cosmic intersubjectivity” lens, enabling us to both confront a primordial void in consciousness and recognize humanity’s radical co-participant agency in meaning-creation. Reviving the erased vaginal in psychoanalysis reawakens a primordial symbolic form, the Sacred Space Between (∆); a psychoanalysis enabled by the ∆ can reclaim what lies beyond the repression barrier and the repudiation of the feminine, thereby refusing the world’s splitting of consciousness that divides the sexual and the mystical, the masculine and the feminine, the human and the divine. The manifesto calls for a post-patriarchal psychoanalysis and an apocalyptic politics of revelation and remembrance, exposing both hidden traumatic legacies and our unbroken, ensouled, galactic connections with an eternal abundance beyond alienation and lack.

This article examines folk beliefs and conceptions concerning death and the afterlife, burial practices as represented in Armenian oral tradition, including their typology, ritual system, and related, in parallel with extensive ethnographic material. The aim and objective of this study is to identify and analyze the burial ritual system, the ritual environment, and the multilayered cultural structure of religious and mythological beliefs and perceptions associated with death. Although perceptions and beliefs undergo spatiotemporal transformations over time, conditioned by the development of human consciousness and scientific progress, they continue to persist as traditional cultural values, maintaining an inseparable link between the past and the present and thereby preserving the relevance of the topic.

Against the backdrop of repeated military defeats after the First Sino-Japanese War and the Boxer Uprising, the urgent mission of national salvation drove Chinese intellectuals to launch a thorough critique of feudal Confucian ethics through Western ideological discourse. This nationalist narrative tied women’s liberation closely to national modernization, giving rise to a series of New Women images in modern China, including the National Mother, the Female Citizen, the Runaway Nora, and the Modern Girl. Throughout this process, male intellectuals dominated the discourse power of shaping female images, while women’s subjective consciousness gradually awakened and challenged the patriarchal-nationalist narrative. Based on existing research and historical documents, this paper systematically combs the evolution of new women images in modern China, analyzes the discourse logic behind image construction, and summarizes the contradictions and dilemmas in the transformation of modern Chinese gender concepts.

Information warfare as a phenomenon has deep historical roots, passing through several stages and experiencing a series of transformations inextricably linked to the technological development of society and the characteristics of mass consciousness. This paper examines the evolution of information warfare as a persistent element of interstate and military-political confrontation throughout human history, from the Ancient World, where the primary goal was to intimidate the enemy and force them to flee the battlefield, to sophisticated methods of psychological influence in the present day, designed to influence not only the information field but also the deep mechanisms of human consciousness. Over time, new methods and technologies for influencing people’s consciousness have emerged, while existing ones remain effective. The relevance of this topic is determined by the growing significance of the results of information warfare in the modern information space, which no longer simply accompanies military campaigns but is ongoing. The purpose of this study is to analyze the key stages in the development of information warfare, emphasizing the changing forms, means, and scale of confrontation depending on the level of technological and social development of society. The paper reconstructs the transformation of the goals and methods of waging information warfare from antiquity to the end of the 20th century, including influence technologies. Historical examples of information interaction are provided, illustrating these changes at each stage. The authors conclude that information warfare is an integral part of interstate and military-political confrontation, evolving throughout almost the entire history of mankind. Beginning with primitive forms of disinformation and psychological traps in the Ancient World and the Middle Ages, information warfare is gradually transforming into a systemic tool of strategic influence, encompassing not only the military sphere, but also public consciousness, political institutions, and historical memory. While throughout its long history, information warfare acquired a systemic nature only during periods of conflict, in the second half of the 20th century, the theory and methodology of waging information warfare were formed; they are waged continuously, and their development becomes a priority area of state policy in the pursuit of geopolitical interests.

This study examines the phenomenology of God using Edmund Husserl's phenomenological method as interpreted by Manuel Dy Jr. Husserl's approach, which includes epoche, eidetic reduction, and transcendental-phenomenological reduction, serves as the framework for uncovering three essential aspects (eidos) of the experience of God: transcendent, mediated, and personal or relational. These dimensions are not metaphysical definitions but structures of appearance within human consciousness. While phenomenology does not claim to determine God's essence, it provides a reflective means to understand how the divine is experienced and given meaning in lived reality. The study acknowledges the divine as both approachable and mysterious, grasped only in part through human experience. Rooted in returning to original experience, the inquiry draws from personal encounters and reflective interpretation. The phenomenological encounter with God thus reveals both the limits of human knowing and the enduring sense of the sacred within existence. By situating phenomenology as a bridge between classical philosophy, Christian theology, and contemporary phenomenological theology, this paper advances the philosophical dialogue on religious experience and highlights the interpretive significance of Filipino religiosity. It shows that phenomenology offers not only a method of description but also a path toward understanding the relational mediation of the divine in human life.

This treatise is an ontological whole of human development in the perspective of sixteen Samskaras (sacraments) of Sanatana tradition. Going beyond the reductionist perspective of these milestones being religious rituals, this analysis recognizes these milestones as an advanced set of scientific and psychological treatments aimed at shuddhikaran (purification). It can be compared to the processing of gold: the same way the raw material needs to be heated and stripped of its impurities to be reborn as a useful and attractive piece of jewelry, the same way with a human product, it is systematically optimized to get rid of the flaws and create virtues that would last forever. The article is based on the thesis that human consciousness (chetna) is a complex recorder on the scale of a contemporary CCTV camera that starts recording the sensory and emotional information at the conception moment. As a result, the list of Samskaras between pre-conception (Garbadhana) and the after death (Antyeshti) form an extreme path of development. At the core of this research is the 80-15-5 rule that shows that 80 percent of people develop in the womb, 15 percent in early life and in education, a little 5 percent. By combining archaic Vedic insights with contemporary clinical discoveries, like the 3% improving survival rates of fetuses in the ninth month to date, this study establishes how the Samskaras are geared towards the biological and spiritual harvesting of the next generation. The final aim of this cycle is, the acquisition of Anga-purti, or the perfection in totality of the person, so that the passage of the consciousness through the material world does not become without purpose, vulgar, and uncultured.

Abstract Many physicalists suppose that middle-sized things of many kinds are real in an ontologically significant way that, e.g., mere aggregates are not. They have that status by being ‘weakly emergent’: emergent because they exhibit forms of behavior not characteristic of entities of which they are composed, while only weakly so because their existence and powers asymmetrically wholly depend on those composing entities. Reductionists and nihilists charge that weak emergents (if such there be) are not ontologically significant because they do not make a fundamental difference to the way the world is or unfolds. I will argue that this charge is plausibly true in a world lacking strongly emergent conscious minds, but not otherwise. Weakly emergent entities enjoy a more robust ontological status by virtue of being objects of conscious practical and theoretical thought and action. Furthermore, the range of objects attaining such significance in a minded world depends on the kinds of minds in it: merely animal, human, and/or divine.

This article examines the concept of the moon as a multidimensional phenomenon in English and Uzbek cultural and literary traditions. The study analyzes the semantic, symbolic, and functional aspects of the moon, including its astronomical, temporal, cultural, folkloric, and metaphorical meanings. Particular attention is given to the role of the moon in reflecting human emotions, psychological states, and natural cycles. Through a comparative approach, the research highlights both universal and culture-specific interpretations of the moon in Eastern and Western contexts. The findings demonstrate that the moon functions not only as a celestial body but also as a powerful symbolic construct deeply embedded in human consciousness, literature, and cultural discourse.

Science was given a "special mandate" (by Humanity) to discover the "true nature of the physical universe", in order to lead Humanity towards a "truthful and "meaningful existence"! This "special-mandate" is contingent upon Science's fulfillment of Kuhn's "Stringent Scientific Criteria" for the validation of any candidate "New Scientific Paradigm" (NSP), following the appearance of a basic "Paradigmatic Crisis" in a given scientific discipline; Indeed, currently, the Old Twentieth-Century's "Material-Causal Random" ("MCR") Paradigm underlying both GRT & QM is exhibiting such a (deep) "Paradigmatic-Crisis", signified by its "GRT-QM theoretical inconsistency", and principle inability to explain the accelerated expansion of the universe (and associated 95% of assumed hypothetical "Dark-Matter" mass in the universe)?! Subsequently, two (unique) "Critical Predictions" of "G-D's Physics" NSP are currently being validated as more valid than the corresponding predictions of the Old MCR's GRT & QM Paradigm – thereby "crowning" G-D's Physics" as the NSP for TwentyFirst Century's Physics! Significantly, "G-D's Physics'" "Universe's Non-Continuous Increase in its Accelerated Rate of Expansion's" (at the "Jewish Rosh Hashanah", "UNCIARE-JRH") predicted "Minimal Annual Increase" (MAI) of 0.000968 km s −1 Mpc can be empirically validated (during the JRH's two days of "Collective Human Consciousness Focus") – in stark contrast to the principle inability to empirically validate GRT's "Big-Bang" nuclear event (due to GRT's own strict "Speed of Light Barrier")?! which therefore compel Science to validate "G-D's Physics" New 21st Century's Physics' Paradigm's UNCIARE-JRH's MAI (precise) value – which will then point at the universe's true age of a mere 5786 years! A call is made to all Astronomers, Cosmologists and Experimental Physicists to directly communicate with Dr. Bentovish (drbentwich@gmail.com) to further validate "G-D's Physics" (unique) "Critical Predictions".

The purpose of this study is to explore the phenomenology of the vocal nature of the Venetian barcarolle as a representative of the theme of human-nature interaction, and to identify the mechanisms of its artistic transformation within the vocal traditions of the 20th century through the lens of the formation of its ‘lexical dictionary’ and genre invariant. The methodology is based on the application of a phenomenological approach, which allows the genre to be considered as a medium of fundamental ontological oppositions, and the implementation of a descriptive model grounded in the reconstruction of the ‘primary performance situation’ – the spatial-acoustic and corporeal-vocal context of the song’s emergence on the water. The study employs methods of systemic musicological analysis, deconstruction of stable genre forms, and semiotic analysis, enabling a comprehensive examination of the evolution of the vocal barcarolle from a domestic prototype to a complex acoustic code. The scientific novelty lies in the first systematic reconsideration of the vocal component of the barcarolle as its ontological core, overcoming the fragmentariness of previous descriptions and creating a holistic concept of the genre. The principles of transforming the physics of sound over the water surface (echo effects, distancing, mirror symmetry) into specific compositional strategies of the 20th century are identified. The authors propose an interpretation of semantic shifts within the modernist discourse, where the traditional metrorhythmic invariant becomes a means of embodying metaphysical reflection, eschatological anticipation, and existential alienation. Conclusions. It is demonstrated that the deliberate use of the vocal-anthropological foundation of the barcarolle in the works of 20th-century composers (A. Schoenberg, B. Britten, O. Messiaen, G. Ligeti) contributed to the dematerialisation of the genre and its transformation into a universal ontological metaphor for the transition between being and non-being. Music emerges as a complex acoustic space, where transformations in harmonic language and vocal lexicon allow the modelling of threshold states of human consciousness, turning the voice from a mere melodic carrier into an instrument for experiencing time and silence.

The XXth century came with its hard way which tempered the famous sons of Kazakh people. B. Momyshuly was the great citizen of the century who lived in that period of time. The research aim of the article is forming the concept of “heroism” in the society’s development, also a review of forming the concept of heroism in life is made. The main direction is based on the research from the conceptological point of view the spiritual, cultural and linguistic cognition oh human mind, which was updated and formed by our peoples’ life habit since the ancient times, with the historical events and situations, epics, fairy tales which influenced on forming such opposing concepts as heroism and cowardice in human mind. The scientific and practical significance of the work that the language and culture which lead to B. Momyshuly’s speech brings to discovering the nature of concept peculiarities that give rise to notions and concepts which are considered as the fruit of human consciousness of people’s life. Such methods as analysis, differentiation, conclusion were the basis of methodology. The main results of the investigation is shown in the linguocultural analysis of the concept “heroism” in B. Momyshuly’s work. As the result of the conducted research considering the “heroism” in B. Momyshuly’s work which has a conceptual character, increases its value. On the conclusion of research results the hero’s linguistic peculiarities which was considered as “The century phenomenon” is determined. In B. Momyshuly’s works the “heroism” concept is considered for the first time. In conclusion the article may be used at seminars, research works.

Thinking is a multifaceted process that encompasses logical, inductive, deductive, and abductive reasoning, as well as planning, recalling past events and previous thoughts, imagining what may or may not happen, and experiencing and feeling affective states. The task of psychology is to explain what these thoughts are. How can physiological, biophysical, and neuronal processes in our bodies and brains be consciously perceived as an unceasing stream of thoughts that accompany us in conscious life? How do these processes differ in the mentioned aspects? Answering these questions without presenting a hypothesis on how perception and information processing are organized in the brain is impossible. This paper undertakes that task by developing a set of hypotheses that form the basis of a recently proposed reductive model of the conscious mind known as the Motivated Emotional Mind (MEM). The model accounts for the architecture of brain structures, the formation of neuronal representations of knowledge, and the dynamic interactions between the brain, sensory receptors, and effectors, all of which are integrated into a cohesive system by the body of the organism, or housing of the system. It also explains to what extent AI systems can exhibit phenomenal consciousness and what needs to be added to them to achieve it in the future.

This paper examines how narrative perspective in Kazuo Ishiguro’s Klara and the Sun and Isaac Asimov’s I, Robot manufactures empathy for artificial intelligence, arguing that subjectivity is a relational construct shaped by focalization rather than an inherent ontological quality. By situating these works within the framework of parasocial interaction and Dingbeseelung (the "ensoulment" of things), the study explores how narrative intimacy bridges the gap between human consciousness and mechanical logic. In Klara and the Sun, Ishiguro utilizes a naive, first-person narration to invite readers into a techno-animistic worldview, while Asimov’s I, Robot employs external focalization to project emotional depth onto the silence of robotic companions. The analysis further investigates the performance of "affective labour" and the resulting sense of Zweisamkeit (togetherness), which remains tragically asymmetrical due to the machines' programmed constraints. Drawing on Freud’s concept of the uncanny (Das Unheimliche) and Emily Apter’s theory of untranslatability, the paper highlights the cognitive dissonance that occurs when algorithmic patterns mimic human sentiment.

The article examines Kair Bekturganov’s short story «The Secret of a Century» as a work that artistically reflects the phenomenon of the relationship between historical memory and human consciousness in the aesthetic evolution of modern Kazakh prose. The purpose of the research is to identify the interaction of historical and existential time within the structure of the story, to analyze the semantic function of archetypal images and symbolic details, and to define the features of the writer’s neo-modernist and post-realist worldview. Despite its concise form, the story possesses a complex, multilayered poetic structure combining philosophical depth and psychological reflection. Through the use of inner monologue, symbolic narrative, and intellectual introspection, Bekturganov reveals the unity of the individual’s inner world and historical space. The image of Makhambet in the story functions not only as a historical figure but also as a symbol of national spirit and freedom. The writer elevates personal spiritual experience to the level of collective memory, demonstrating the dialectical link between time and consciousness. The study applies artistic, comparative, mythopoetic, and contextual analysis methods to reveal the author’s stylistic, linguistic, and aesthetic characteristics. The artistic nature of «The Secret of a Century» is distinguished by its philosophical treatment of time and space as interconnected categories and its depiction of collective trauma and historical consciousness. Symbols such as dust, light, silence, road, and window form a multilayered semantic system that encourages readers toward reflection and self-analysis. The findings show that Bekturganov’s prose contributes to the development of a new aesthetic paradigm in contemporary Kazakh literature — one grounded in cognitive, symbolic, and philosophical dimensions. «The Secret of a Century» stands as a work that redefines the understanding of national memory and spiritual continuity through artistic expression.

In this paper, I want to briefly introduce how four approaches that relate (or not) philosophical investigation with the neuroscientific research can be considered in order to achieve a methodology that can effectively investigate the phenomenon of the conscious mind and its relationship with the brain. The traditional way of defining philosophical work seems to be clearly opposed to the traditional way of conceiving neuroscientific work. That raises the question that serves as the title of the paper: should we conceive the relationship between philosophy and neuroscience as a kind of “solo dancing”, that is, isolated without any kind of interaction? Or should we conceive that relationship as a “tango”, that is, an actively continuous relationship that complements each other? The Isolationist Approach argues for a “solo dancing” relationship, denying any kind of interaction. Next, rejecting this “solo dancing” approach, the Reductionist Approach (RA) will focus on specifying how philosophical work can be reduced to neuroscientific work. Arguing against the reductive aspect of (RA), but maintain a “tango” relationship, the Neurophenomenological Approach (NA) will demonstrate the importance of an embodied approach to the study of the conscious mind. Finally, the Non-Reductive Neurophilosophical Approach (NRNA) will expose a particular methodology that conceives the epistemic utility of both philosophical and neuroscientific work to investigate the conscious brain. After this brief reflection, we will provide some experimental philosophy data collected on how experts in neurophilosophy (broadly considered) judge this relationship, showing that there is a preference for approaches that interconnect both disciplines (even if the specific kind of interconnections is not particular).

A cognitive architecture for modeling human memory and consciousness

Purpose In Vietnam, falls-from-height (FFHs) are shaped by multiple factors; however, project participants hold differing perceptions of these risks. This study aims to analyze and establish an overall assessment model for fall-related hazards in building projects. Design/methodology/approach Drawing on a literature review and expert input, 28 relevant risk factors were identified within the Vietnamese context. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed through statistical techniques, including Cronbach’s alpha, mean scores and analysis, t-tests, Exploratory Factor Analysis and Fuzzy Synthetic Evaluation (FSE). Findings The results indicate that all identified factors exert a strong influence on FFHs. However, perceptions of risk varied among respondents based on their work experience, job position and project affiliation. Overall, most risks were rated as moderate to high in severity (mean = 3.0), with Unstable scaffolding and ladders emerging as the most critical factor (mean = 4.09). The 26 significant factors were categorized into four principal components that together explained 63% of the total variance: Component 1–Project characteristics, construction methods and site conditions; Component 2–Equipment, monitoring and training; Component 3–Time, culture and adaptation; and Component 4–Human consciousness. The FSE results confirmed a high overall impact of FFH risk factors, yielding an average score of 3.6 out of 5. The components were ranked in descending order of influence as follows: Component 1, Component 2, Component 4 and Component 3. Research limitations/implications This study establishes a foundation for future research aimed at developing a robust model for assessing FFH risks in construction. Practical implications The proposed model of FFH factors and their components provides evidence-based guidance for prioritizing and developing targeted interventions in key areas such as worker training, on-site supervision, material quality management and policy enforcement. Originality/value This study highlights the critical importance of aligning stakeholder perceptions regarding fall-related risks.
