RETRACTED: Sports and health big data system based on 5G network and Internet of Things system

Technology, sports and healthcare industry have been deeply intertwined for a long time. However, new opportunities are now rapidly expanding on the Internet (population), and the result is a huge data. Also, people around the world will be able to wear biosensors for personalizing things, as well as new applications have started using 5G technology. Therefore, the design and development of the 5G network Internet games and healthcare applications of (Internet of Things) IoT and 5G have taken place. 5G-assisted smart medical networks are the convergence of IoT devices that require improved network performance and enhanced mobile phone radio waves. Today's connectivity solutions face the challenges of the Internet of Things, such as equipment, standardization, energy efficiency, device density, and the vast number of security supports. In this article, we will give a comprehensive review of IoT-assisted 5G-assisted smart sports and health care solutions. It must be categorized, and presented in the structure of 5G smart medicine through existing literature. Its smart sports and healthcare system also have key requirements for a successful 5G deployment in some cases. Finally, to discuss the challenges of researching IoT smart 5G sports and healthcare solutions with some open issues.

Analysis of bandwidth aggregation techniques for combined use of satellite and xDSL broadband links

SummaryThe availability of multiple technologies to access the Internet is even more common in today's connectivity scenarios. As an example, smartphones make use of 3G/4G data technology but, when a Wi‐Fi access point is available, they switch from 3G/4G (which typically is a paid per volume service) to the wireless local access. The same principle is applicable for fixed access, when terrestrial ADSL or optical fiber and satellite technologies can be typically available in the same place. This paper focuses on the simultaneous availability of different access technologies with the capability to use them in combination, to offer better performance than the traditional single technology access.

Voices from the past: Mental and physical outcomes described by American Civil War amputees

ABSTRACTStudies of trauma commonly concentrate on the psychological and physiological effects of recent violent events. Although today connections are becoming more explicitly drawn, early studies of the aftermath of amputation serve to shed light on modern understanding of the interaction of the physical and emotional. The study of combat amputation, dissociation, and related posttraumatic stress largely began with the work of 19th-century Philadelphia physician Silas Weir Mitchell, who brought attention to the phenomenon of phantom limb pain. Less known, however, are the data he and his son, John K. Mitchell, also collected on the mental outcomes of trauma. Using an archived collection of original surveys of double-amputee patients dating largely from 1893 housed at the Historical Medical Library at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, an interdisciplinary team explored the historical, anthropological, and psychological background of the study of combat trauma. Almost 30 years following the end of hostilities, the majority of the sample of U.S. Civil War veterans indicated that their general disposition, general health, and sleeping or eating patterns had changed following limb amputation. More telling, possibly, are the written comments on the surveys and letters that indicate frustration with the continuous suffering and the knowledge of their mental and physical changes. These data illustrate the value of historical archives in documenting the development of the study of trauma and modern concepts of combat experiences.

In this paper, I explore the multiple trajectories and relational politics from which Skagway, Alaska, has "become the new." I engage Skagway through a "language of movement." I tell "a story so far" about Skagway, Alaska, as a "place in motion." The paper unfolds through an ethno-historic narrative of the multiple lines of social and economic differentiation, processes of change, and numerous face-lifts Skagway has undergone since the Klondike Gold Rush on through to today's connectivity with the global cruise tourism industry.
