This study aims to propose identification to the business process of admitting new students at Miftahul Khoirot Student Boarding School by adopting the concept of Business Process Reengineering (BPR). The admission of new students is a critical stage in maintaining the quality of education in pesantren, and BPR can help in identifying, redesigning, and optimizing this process to achieve efficiency, productivity, and better service. The BPR method is used to analyze, redesign, and implement the process with a more effective and innovative approach. The results of this proposal include simplification of intake steps, use of information technology, reduction of bureaucracy, and improved coordination between departments. It is expected that the implementation of this proposal will result in significant improvements in the admission process, reduce the time required, and increase the satisfaction of prospective students and related parties. This proposal provides a foundation for Miftahul Khoirot Student Boarding School to become more responsive and competitive in accepting new students

The article reveals the concept of business process reengineering, defines the stages of its implementation within the framework of construction organizations, describes the methods of business process reengineering, conducts their comparative analysis aimed at identifying the advantages and disadvantages of each method, provides a description and comparative analysis of the most popular business process reengineering tools. Conclusions are drawn about the use of his methods and tools.

RESEARCH ON BUSINESS PROCESS REENGINEERING OF REAL ESTATE ENTERPRISES

With the deepening of economic globalization, the global market has gradually changed from the situation dominated by sellers to the era dominated by buyers. This change makes the competitive environment in which enterprises are in become increasingly complex and the market competition becomes increasingly fierce. Due to the change of market environment, the field of management theory is also quietly changing, such as learning organization, virtual management, flexible organization and other new management models. Learning organizations strive to adapt to the changing market environment by constantly updating and improving their own skills; With the help of information technology, virtual management transfers part of the management functions inside the enterprise to the virtual space, realizes the cross-region, cross-time and space management, and improves the management efficiency. Flexible organization emphasizes that enterprises should be as adaptive as organisms, and constantly adjust their organizational structure with changes in the external environment to better adapt to market competition. These new management models provide new ideas and methods for enterprises to win the opportunity in the fierce market competition. In the early 1990s, the business process reengineering (BPR) theory proposed by American management scientists Michael Hammer and James Champy set off a process revolution in the world. The BPR project is a large and comprehensive issue. It involves the process setting and organizational structure of the enterprise, and is also linked to human resource management, IT system application and other links. It is a systematic project. This paper analyzes the background and significance of BPR appearing in the modern economic environment. The concept of BPR is introduced, and the three key principles of BPR (target process, customer research, and technical conditions) are analyzed. By studying the development process of enterprise BPR, the article discusses the BPR scheme of real estate enterprises according to the development status of China's real estate. The article is based on the "6 stages" (strategic conception stage, project initiation stage, analysis and diagnosis stage, process optimization design stage, process organization reengineering stage, and process evaluation and improvement stage) reengineering and optimization ideas. Starting from the business characteristics of the real estate market development department, cost management department, engineering management department, technical management department, and procurement management department, provide standardized and effective real estate enterprise business process management methods and practices to promote the successful implementation and operation of real estate projects.

THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES OF THE RE-ENGINEERING PROCESS IN THE FIELD OF HIGHER EDUCATION UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF WAR

Recently, higher education institutions have changed their approach to the financing system, focusing on self-supporting and autonomous principles. However, educational services markets are atypical centers that differ from other business structures, functioning based on non-profitability. Global positive practices indicate the need to increase attention to improving the management of higher education institutions and the search for updated, innovative methods of improving the organization of the system of regional educational services. Practically justified in this sense is the concept of business process reengineering, which will increase one’s credibility and provide an opportunity to introduce convenience, quality, and anti-crisis into the educational process. That is, reengineering business processes in the educational sector should be considered a necessary innovative solution under the conditions of various types of crises, including military ones. The article aims to clarify the theoretical and methodological approaches to the application of reengineering methods in the activity of the educational sector markets with further reproduction under conditions of war. The research tasks are analysis of the functioning of regional markets of educational services under war conditions, elucidation of the essence of reengineering processes in the educational sector and outlining the expected results of the effectiveness of educational institutions in the future as a result of innovative innovations. Higher education institutions generally focus on providing high-quality educational and scientific services to students. Today, the main task of forced distance and diverse forms of education is the timely introduction of innovative software and the availability of safe and equipped shelters. It is necessary to create conditions for effective interaction between higher education subjects through the electronification of training courses, network testing processes, electronic control of knowledge, and accessibility to high-speed Internet. It should be understood that these innovative measures involve the use of financial and human efforts, which in turn makes it necessary to adhere to the curricula of competencies that reveal the patriotic, educational, military, social, and social abilities of the student of higher education.

Intelligent Selection Algorithm of Optimal Logistics Distribution Path Based on Supply Chain Technology.

How to realize the intelligence of logistics distribution is a hot research topic at present. How to reasonably allocate vehicles, optimize driving routes and travel time, deliver goods to customers on time at the lowest cost, and realize efficient and low-cost operation of the logistics distribution system has always been a problem in academia and industry for many years. Logistics enterprises face problems such as low efficiency of logistics operation, lack of scientific rationality of logistics resource planning, and lack of overall optimization of logistics management operation mode. These are severe tests that steel companies must accept. Under the background of logistics supply chain, the integrated service platform of logistics supply chain has become an urgent research topic. This study takes a steel enterprise as the main research background. On this basis, the two core modules of warehousing and distribution in the logistics business of iron and steel enterprises are qualitatively analyzed, the concept of business process reengineering is proposed, and the logistics supply chain of iron and steel enterprises is established. The concept of comprehensive service platform is realized through RFID technology. In addition, this study conducts a comprehensive analysis and research on the logistics distribution path optimization and vehicle scheduling problem, designs and implements a logistics vehicle scheduling management system, and then adopts the multiobjective method to solve the logistics distribution path planning problem, SMEs. Genetic algorithm and a simulation decision-making subsystem suitable for this problem are designed, which can better solve the problem of route optimization and vehicle scheduling in small-scale distribution.

Literature Analysis and Future Research Framework in Improvement and Substitutes Strategies

Abstract
 The aim of this paper is to examine improvement strategy using 4 approaches categorized as “substitutes for strategy” in operations strategy and to propose a framework for future research. This paper used a descriptive approach to examine peer-reviewed articles that were selected for analysis purposes. The analysis revealed that the majority of previous studies always used the principle of continuous improvement in 3 operating concepts, namely TQM, Lean, and Six Sigma, and the use of the breakthrough improvement strategy in the concept of Business Process re-engineering. Therefore, this study proposes a future research framework that is related to operational management concepts but uses the opposite improvement strategy approach. This article provides a future research framework that can be used as a basis for other researchers in the future to examine TQM, Six Sigma, Lean, and BPR from different perspectives of the improvement strategy. Professionals who worked in the operations field can use the framework provided in this article to view the company's strategy from a different perspective to gain a competitive advantage for their organization. Toward an understanding of BPR perception in the construction industry: the employee attitude toward job enlargement and enrichment in Saudi Arabia

PurposeBusiness process reengineering (BPR) is a management improvement tool that entails radical changes to organizations' core processes, culture and legacy systems. Although BPR initiatives are favored by many mangers, employees on the other hand, perceive BPR as a potential threat to lose their jobs. This research aims to enhance the employee perception toward BPR implementation in the construction industry as BPR asks for job enlargement (number of different tasks) and enrichment (degree of responsibility) and doesn’t target the workforce downsizing by itself.Design/methodology/approachThe research is conducted in Saudi Arabia by involving experienced construction industry practitioners in a survey questionnaire and semi-structured interviews to gain an insightful perception toward BPR constituents. BPR asks for job enlargement (number of different tasks) and enrichment (degree of responsibility). The survey questionnaire is verified from the literature related to BPR and pilot study through experienced construction practitioners. The experts validated the findings.FindingsThe findings of this research reveal a general positive acceptance toward BPR constituents in construction industry. Jobs enrichment and enlargement should be approached: by integrating IT with business functions (especially communication); developing flexible management systems; and encouraging and empowering employees to generate value through their jobs with more delegated authority.Originality/valueThe work is one of the few studies to address the concept of Business Process Reengineering in the construction industry. We explore two research questions as detailed in the submission (BPR perception in the construction industry, and how to have a successful BPR by job enlargement and enrichment. The methods can be extended to other industries and in different parts in the world.

Regularities of the Process of Organizational Changes in the Management Structure of the Enterprise

The article defines the content of the concept of “stability of the economic and production system”; obtained a meaningful identification of the concepts “sustainability of economic and production system” and “sustainability of organizational development of economic and production system”, the difference between which is taken into account the dynamics. The regularities of the enterprise development processes are determined, namely the consideration of the nature and regularities of organizational transformations of the enterprise management structure in the context of ensuring its sustainable development takes place within two conceptual approaches – subjective and objective, the differences between which are related to their inherent differences. in determining the goals, driving forces and mechanisms of such transformations; regularities of the processes of organizational development of the economic and production system of the enterprise are developed. The dynamics of internal organizational changes in the context of enterprise development will be determined by the potential impact of such changes on its adaptive properties, which, in turn, will further find appropriate expression in the formation of adequate potential responses to external stimuli. This approach largely corresponds to the position for which the company is considered in terms of socio-economic system of a higher level of organization. In addition, such an approach can also be considered acceptable and productive in predicting the dynamics of enterprise development by the participant of interaction with him. The application of a subjective approach, based on the consi- deration of organizational transformations as a manifestation of adaptive and (or) purposeful variability of the enterprise, also finds, in particular, fruitful application in the concept of business process reengineering.

METHODICAL APPROACHES TO BUSINESS PROCESSES REENGINEERING AT MODERN ENTERPRISES

The research task is the improvement of scientific principles and development of a methodical approach to the modelling of enterprises’ development scenarios that apply business process reengineering in order to increase the level of competitiveness. The urgency of the research. The relevance of further researches is determined by the fact that the practical implementation of scientific approaches in Ukraine has not become popular, and the aspects of business process reengineering have been implemented only fragmentarily. Target setting. The development and discussions of procedural, systemic, and synergetic approaches to enterprise development have determined the concept of business process reengineering. Therefore, the further development of methodical principles for the realization of business process reengineering in the practice of business management is urgent and relevant. Uninvestigated parts of general matters defining. The justification of the expediency of using the tools for business process reengineering through the modelling of the future results at Ukrainian enterprises requires further scientific development. Materials and methods. The historical-evolutionary method was used to investigate the essence and origin of the category of reengineering and to distinguish its main features. By means of analysis and synthesis, the conceptual bases of business processes reengineering are determined. Implementation of complex, systemic, and synergetic approaches as a basis for application of business process reengineering allowed developing a modelling methodology for forecasting scenarios of the level of competitiveness of a business unit. The application of a systematic approach is reflected in the consideration of the impact of external and internal factors on the enterprise, complex factor – in combination of factors with the criteria of the enterprises managing that are able to compete in the world market, as well as the application of method at different levels – macro, meso, and micro. Methods of economic modelling and forecasting were used for forming a model of forecasting of the level of enterprise competitiveness. Results. The main features are segregated and a method for modelling of the results of its implementation is formulated. The algorithm of modelling of development scenario as a result of the application of reengineering is developed. A model for predicting of the level of competitiveness for the Ukrainian economy is constructed as well. Practical implications. The brilliant examples of corporations that received the “second breath” as a result of the introduction and reengineering of processes were General Electric, Toyota and Chrysler, Kodak, Siemens Nixdorf Service, IBM Credit. The proposed methodological approach can be applied by enterprises to predict the level of competitiveness of an enterprise as a result of the introduction of business process reengineering, depending on possible costs and target commodity output. Value/originality. Such a method of forecasting the competitiveness of an enterprise as a result of business process reengineering is important and can be used to predict the level of competitiveness at all levels of management.

The Impact of Business Process Reengineering Interventions - A Case Study of State Bank of India

With the emergence of global players, the Indian banking industry is facing fierce competition not only at its homeland but also with the international market. Due to continuous changes taking place in information technology, preferences of customers and competition, there is a need to redefine the mission objectives and process of the organization, so that the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization can be improved. While State Bank of India continues to dominate the Indian banking industry and its profits continue to grow, it is coming under increasing competitive pressure. The flattening of the world as a result of networking, information technology and globalization, necessitates SBI to bring out the drastic change in its procedural activities and redesign its business process. Business Process Reengineering aims at making the processes to be focused on producing the desired results. It also aims to be efficient by optimally using the available resources, to be cost effective by minimizing overall costs and should be adaptable by being able to adapt the changing customer and business needs. The present study focuses on business process reengineering interventions implemented in State Bank of India and the changes in the organization structure with special emphasis on Agra branches. The broad objective of the study was to relate the concept of Business Process Reengineering as a tool to enhance the competitive strength of State Bank of India and to improve its functioning to a world class level.

The process approach in management is used both in business and public organisations. Development of interest in process-based concepts as an instrument improving organisational effectiveness resulted from criticism of the functional approach in organisations. The article presents the concept of Business Process Reengineering (BPR). The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in the implementation of BPR concept in public and business organisations and to identify the key factors in its implementation. An important area of distinguishing the approaches of implementing BPR in the analysed organisations is the expectation as to the outcome of its application, the importance of environmental influences and different approaches to the meaning of the recipient of services.

Analisis dan Rekayasa Ulang Proses Bisnis Sistem Pembelian pada PT XYZ

In this modern era, business processes become one of the important aspects for a company to stay ahead in the competition to its competitors. A company that has an optimal business processes and supported by an integrated information system will win the competition. This study aims to optimize the purchasing business process of Company XYZ using the concept of Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) approach as the basis for designing the next module of enterprise information systems. From this study, we found that there are still business processes that need to be revised and improved to integrate the flow of data and information from one department to another department. Business process that needs to be revised is an overseas purchase; Business processes that need to be improved are Overdelivery and Under-delivery Tolerance, PO Free Goods, PO Subcontracting, and Purchasing Planning consisting of Weekly Projected Sales, Weekly Order Projection & Daily Order Projection.

Innovation Models and Business Process Redesign

Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is a paradigm that is used by many organizations to survive in the competitive era. However, creative design of the business processes is a critical phase and the organization should prepare the ground for innovation in this phase. Innovation helps organizations to use the BPR concept efficiently. This paper reviews the BPR methodologies and innovation concepts and models and presents a business process redesign framework based on the innovation models using Dubin’s methodology. This brings innovation concepts to the world of business process reengineering. In the proposed framework, external and internal factors enforce the organization to accomplish a BPR project. Preparing an organization for innovation makes a new environment that drives employees to innovate and look forward to new processes. This is crucial for BPR projects where employees should make significant changes in jobs, workflows and IT, and increases the chance of BPR projects success. Impacts of Decision Supporting Systems on Decision Making

The dynamic improvement in banks and other financial provider obligated BAHRAIN COMMERCIAL FACILITIES COMPANY (BCFC) to implement the concept of Business Process Reengineering (BPR). This was to provide innovative product and services and decrease the gap between BCFC and other banks or financial service provider. This research's object is to evaluate the impact of BPR on business performance and discover how BPR will affect (cost, quality, and time cycle) of products and services provided. Data obtained from secondary and primary sources, and analysis done through simple percentage analysis and regression analysis. This research concludes that BPR is not risk-less, and failed to be perfectly implemented to the following reasons: lack of executive leadership, and organizational resistance.

Study on Queuing System Optimization of Bank Based on BPR

This paper focuses on improving the queuing system of bank based on BPR. Firstly, the bottleneck problems of bank queuing is analyzed as well as the concept, classification and methodologies of BPR (business process reengineering). Secondly, the bank businesses are investigated and analyzed. Thirdly, the queuing system of certain bank is optimized based on BPR by enterprise dynamic simulation. Finally, the simulated results are discussed and the optimized result is concluded.

Logistics Efficiency Improvement with Lean Management and RFID Application

This study illustrates the application of lean management and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to improve the logistics efficiency in a distribution center. The distribution center stores more than ten million parts belonging to about ten thousand types. There are more than ten thousand storage and retrieval operations for hundreds of part types on a daily basis. Value stream mapping was used to draw current state mapping with material flow, information flow, and time flow. Based on the concept of business process reengineering, future state mapping with RFID application was developed. Preliminary experiments showed that 100% read rate was achieved with a fixed RFID reader and an antenna installed at a garage door and Ultra-High Frequency passive tags mounted on each pallet. The benefit using RFID in the distribution center is analyzed (e.g., with a saving of cycle time and process time by 24% and 22%, respectively) and promoted.

Construction Business Process Reengineering (CBPR): A Case Study of Construction Organizations in Malaysia

Abstract . Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is currently one of the most popular catchwords. Companies hope to break the magic triangle of costs, time and quality by streamlining their business processes. So far, most BPR projects have concentrated on stationary industries, mainly manufacturing. Others, such as the construction industry, have not gained as much attention yet, even though there is a high need for reducing costs and improving the effectiveness in this industry. Increasing customer demands towards quality, speed and flexibility, tough competition from international companies, and reduced public spending have created a difficult situation for many construction organizations in Malaysia. In order to adopt BPR within construction industry and prevent from lagging behind other sectors, this study theoretically assessed effectiveness and deficiencies of the ‘traditional’ organizations as well as the factors that cause those effects in comparison with the ‘effective’ organizations based on the BPR concepts. By contrasting what are found in ‘effective’ organizations but not found in’ traditional’ organizations, critical attributes that contribute the most to successful adoption of BPR were identified so that the improvement steps for applying BPR can be suitable focused. The validated findings indicated remarkable contrast between ‘traditional’ and ‘effective’ organizations. Five critical aspects including establishment performance measurement system, empowerment of employees, participation of top management, innovative organization, and information technology (IT) were found to be the major differences to be applying BPR.

Benchmarking the redesign of “business process reengineering” curriculum

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to illustrate the application of business process reengineering (BPR) and benchmarking principles to redesign an undergraduate course on BPR to achieve continuous improvements. The principles are applied on a course on BPR in the curriculum of engineering management (EM) program at Stevens Institute of Technology. The EM program aims to provide the students the knowledge and skills, which are necessary to work effectively at the interface between technology, management, and engineering. BPR course (EM435) is recently added to EM program's curriculum to support the need for providing the bridge between the engineering of systems and business operations.Design/methodology/approachThe research approach design is laid out from the time the EM435 course is first offered in the fall of 2006 to the senior year EM students. The students are surveyed and areas of redesign and improvements are identified based on benchmarking against ABET criteria and their associated outcomes, student expectations, similar academic courses, and industry expectations of skills and knowledge.FindingsThe identification of the improvement areas in the BPR curriculum leads to a continuous process improvement (CPI) initiative, which has been continued in a more structured manner. Research findings indicate a strong support for more case studies, use of BPR tool, and real‐life project in their investigation of effective pedagogy for teaching BPR to engineering undergraduates.Research limitations/implicationsThis paper demonstrates the value of applying benchmarking and CPI methodology in maintaining effective teaching and learning of BPR concepts. More empirical metrics can be developed in future to measure the success of course, improvements.Practical implicationsThe findings of this research will promote adoption of courses on BPR and lay a foundation for BPR curriculum in engineering. The CPI approach will provide opportunities to analyze improvements over a period of time.Originality/valueThis paper is unique in its application of benchmarking and CPI for improving BPR curriculum at an undergraduate engineering level.

A case study of the SMEs’ organizational restructuring in Taiwan

Business process reengineering (BPR) has been widely applied in many enterprises. However, most cases have targeted large enterprises. In Taiwan, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which account for at least 95 per cent of all enterprises, have played an extremely important role in Taiwan’s economic growth. The question of whether those SMEs can successfully implement BPR in order to strengthen their management structure is an important issue. Undertakes a detailed case study of an SME whose profits had fallen dramatically and which successfully implemented organizational restructuring (OR). Discovers that, although the SME in question did not make use of information technology to achieve the goal of organizational restructuring, by adopting use of BPR concepts and methods it achieved its goal of transformation. The model used for the implementation procedure of OR should provide a useful reference for other SMEs in Taiwan seeking to achieve perpetual operation, because most SMEs will eventually encounter similar problems.
