Concern over cyber security is becoming more and more prevalent in today's international politics. National security is now evaluated not only in terms of military might or economic might, but also in terms of technological innovation. The fact that today's society is heavily dependent on computer communication and control systems, which opens up infinite opportunities, shows how important technology is in the national security area. By effectively changing the keys, the suggested work aimed to provide WSN with complicated security solutions that would ensure data integrity, security, and genuine transmission for many additional network operations through structured cryptography approaches. The study's protective measures can be applied to a variety of WSN configurations, including heterogeneous WSNs with and without mobility aid and static homogeneous WSNs. Because WSN is more limited to hardware resources, not all applications can be protected using the same method.

Some Aspects of Teaching Improper Integrals in an Electronic Environment

The development of computer technology and communication systems provides new opportunities for learning in an electronic environment. Remote education in virtual electronic classrooms has been widely used in recent decades, especially during the pandemic. Teaching in an electronic environment makes it possible to conduct lectures with thousands of participants. This article is devoted to a new look at teaching improper integrals at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A new partition of unity method is applied in a deep recursive e-learning process. A thorough list of subproblems of a real model problem is demonstrated. Additionally, other appropriate improper integrals are considered.

Performance analysis of several common error correction codes

With the rapid development of information technology and advances in science and technology, people are constantly interacting with data and coding. Error correction codes are integral to ensuring the security, robustness, and accuracy of information and systems, used not only in various engineering fields but in our daily lives as well. Systems that incorporate error correction codes have been proven to perform significantly better than those that do not, which makes it essential to understand the principles behind coding, encoding techniques, and their performance in specific domains.This paper focuses on three widely used error correction codes: Hamming code, RS code, and convolutional code. By introducing each code separately and evaluating their performance in different practical areas using proper simulations and relevant research results, this paper provides a comprehensive understanding of the vital role of error correction codes in channel encoding. Each code has its strengths, weaknesses, and specific applications. Hamming code, for example, is suitable for correcting bit errors in computer memories and communication systems. RS code is widely used in digital storage and broadcast systems due to its high level of error correction capability. Convolutional code is ideal for correcting bit-errors in continuous channels, making it an excellent choice for wireless communication systems. Overall, the results demonstrate that these error correction codes are crucial to guaranteeing data transmission integrity and system robustness. Understanding their principles and performance can guide future research and development of coding techniques in advancing technological progress and improving our daily lives.

A population model with Markovian arrival process and binomial correlated catastrophes

Stochastic population models with mild catastrophes have gained much attention in recent years due to their wide application in a variety of areas including computer-communications systems. This article considers a population model in which both the arrival process of individuals and catastrophes occur as per the Markovian arrival process (MAP) and are independent of each other. The killing mechanism takes place according to the binomial distribution. The steady-state analysis of the model is carried out using the vector generating function approach and the population size distributions at an arbitrary, post-catastrophe, and pre-arrival epochs are presented in terms of the roots of the characteristic equation. Several performance measures of the system are studied in detail, and the impact of critical parameters is duly investigated.

A comparison of variance reduction techniques in the simulation of a retrial M/M/1/K queue

Retrial queueing systems play a significant role in the modeling and performance evaluation of various dynamic stochastic systems, such as computer networks, airlines, communication and financial systems. This article presents a comprehensive assessment on the applicability of three popular variance reduction techniques (VRTs) in the performance evaluation of an M/M/1/K retrial queue based on shortest job first served (SJFS) retrial policy. The M/M/1/K retrial queue with SJFS retrial policy is not currently analytically tractable. Therefore, the credibility of such queueing systems is heavily dependent on simulations and accurate output data analysis. We seek to identify the best possible VRT so that a system performance evaluator can focus on optimizing the accuracy of relevant performance metrics under study. A comparative applicability analysis of three VRTs, i.e., antithetic variates, importance sampling, and control variates, on the retrial M/M/1/K queueing model has been presented. Our analysis showed a significant level of reduction in terms of variance and confidence interval size of the final estimates for the control variates technique. Furthermore, it has been found that unlike the other VRTs, the control variates technique shows a consistent trend in variance reductions as the number of retrials increases.

Integrated nanophotonic optical diodes designed by genetic algorithms.

Integrable nanophotodiode devices have attracted much research interest in recent years because of their potential applications in all-optical computing and optical communication systems. We propose a new optical diode design scheme. We use genetic algorithms (GAs) to design an optical diode, which has a device footprint of only 2.5×2.5µm2. These devices designed by GA have the ability to achieve high-efficiency unidirectional transmission. Simulations show the forward transmission efficiency can reach higher than 65% for a Gaussian beam between the wavelengths of 1400 and 1600 nm, and the peak transmission efficiency reaches 75%. The transmission contrast at the design wavelength between 1500 and 1600 nm is higher than 90%, which meets the requirements of high unidirectionality, wide operational bandwidth, and small scale. The devices have more advantages for optical diodes compared with structures designed by photonic crystals and gratings. The application of this scheme provides a new idea for the design and research of all-optical diodes in the field of optical communication.

Towards Optimization of Malware Detection using Extra-Tree and Random Forest Feature Selections on Ensemble Classifiers

The proliferation of Malware on computer communication systems posed great security challenges to confidential data stored and other valuable substances across the globe. There have been several attempts in curbing the menace using a signature-based approach and in recent times, machine learning techniques have been extensively explored. This paper proposes a framework combining the exploit of both feature selections based on extra tree and random forest and eight ensemble techniques on five base learners- KNN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Trees, and Logistic Regression. K-Nearest Neighbors returns the highest accuracy of 96.48%, 96.40%, and 87.89% on extra-tree, random forest, and without feature selection (WFS) respectively. Random forest ensemble accuracy on both Feature Selections are the highest with 98.50% and 98.16% on random forest and extra-tree respectively. The Extreme Gradient Boosting Classifier is next on random-forest FS with an accuracy of 98.37% while Voting returns the least detection accuracy of 95.80%. On extra-tree FS, Bagging is next with a detection accuracy of 98.09% while Voting returns the least accuracy of 95.54%. Random Forest has the highest all in seven evaluative measures in both extra tree and random forest feature selection techniques. The study results uncover the tree-based ensemble model is proficient and successful for malware classification.

A New Efficient and Secure Secret Reconstruction Scheme (SSRS) with Verifiable Shares Based on a Symmetric Bivariate Polynomial

Secret sharing (SS) schemes have been widely used in secure computer communications systems. Recently, a new type of SS scheme, called the secure secret reconstruction scheme (SSRS), was proposed, which ensures that the secret can only be recovered by participants who present valid shares. In other words, if any outside adversary participated in the secret reconstruction without knowing any valid share, the secret cannot be recovered by anyone including the adversary. However, the proposed SSRS can only prevent an active attacker from obtaining the recovered secret, but cannot prevent a passive attacker from obtaining the secret since exchange information among participants is unprotected. In this paper, based on bivariate polynomials, we propose a novel design for the SSRS that can prevent both active and passive attackers. Furthermore, we propose a verification scheme which can verify all shares at once, i.e., it allows all shareholders to efficiently verify that their shares obtained from the dealer are generated consistently without revealing their shares and the secret. The proposed scheme is really attractive for efficient and secure secret reconstruction in communications systems.

A study of problematic issues in information resources integration in Russia

The introduction of computer, information and telecommunication technologies has radically changed the capabilities of management processes in all spheres of life of modern states. Large-scale automation of a wide variety of processes, monitoring of the state of objects and processes, comprehensive support of activities for preparation and decision-making in close to real time mode, allowed for a significant expansion of the scope for increased efficiency in management. Further integration of information management and telecommunication systems has made it possible to manage even more complex objects distributed geographically, due to a substantially decentralized structure and heterogeneous by its nature both in the composition of hardware and software, and in the composition and structure of information resources. Over the decades, the goals of integrating computing and information resources have gradually transformed, showing a significant dependence, on both the capabilities of computer hardware and communication systems, and additionally on the capabilities of software, up to the level of development of information technologies. Often ahead of integration opportunities, practical needs determine the need to manage increasingly complex facilities. The evolution of command and control facilities began from private processes of ensuring daily activities (or combat command and control), passing through similar processes at the level of territorial entities, ministries and departments, and in our time has led to the emergence of objects combined into a single complex structure, distributed throughout the state and intended for solving state tasks of strategic importance.

Multinomial Regression Model for the Evaluation of Multilevel Effects Caused by High-Power Electromagnetic Environments

A lot of work has been done for the effects evaluation of electronic equipment due to high-power electromagnetic environments. The focus of the evaluation usually stays on whether the effects occur or not (“1” or “0”) during tests. However, in addition to such kind of either-or effects, multilevel effects happen in many practical cases as well. In this paper, we propose a kind of statistical approach for the evaluation of multilevel effects. By means of multinomial regression, the occurrence probabilities of each level of effects can be estimated simultaneously. Through maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), both the Softmax model and the mutually independent normal distribution assumption model are built and solved in a numerical way. We also talk about how the data affect the goodness of the regression. As a consequence, the Monte Carlo simulation gives a quasi-function relationship about model stability and estimation error. A case study on computer communication system has been conducted in the laboratory to assess the validity and applicability of the proposed models. The result is satisfactory for the three-level cases and gives all the probability prediction of the malfunction occurrences.

OPTIMAL ENERGY DISTRIBUTION WITH ENERGY PACKET NETWORKS

We use the Energy Packet Network (EPN) to investigate an optimal energy distribution problem for the computer-communication system which is powered by intermittent renewable energy sources. The objective is to find an optimal energy distribution to minimize the proposed cost function which computes penalty costs caused by the overall average response time of jobs and the energy loss. In this EPN system, we consider the energy can be lost through storage leakages, or due to empty workstations which will consume energy even no job needs to be processed. Related numerical examples with different sets of parameter values are presented in the paper to evaluate the system performance and to examine the obtained analytical solution. Then a special case is considered to study the optimal system performance when the total energy harvesting rate is sufficiently large.

Using cantor sets for error detection.

Error detection is a fundamental need in most computer networks and communication systems in order to combat the effect of noise. Error detection techniques have also been incorporated with lossless data compression algorithms for transmission across communication networks. In this paper, we propose to incorporate a novel error detection scheme into a Shannon optimal lossless data compression algorithm known as Generalized Luröth Series (GLS) coding. GLS-coding is a generalization of the popular Arithmetic Coding which is an integral part of the JPEG2000 standard for still image compression. GLS-coding encodes the input message as a symbolic sequence on an appropriate 1D chaotic map Generalized Luröth Series (GLS) and the compressed file is obtained as the initial value by iterating backwards on the map. However, in the presence of noise, even small errors in the compressed file leads to catastrophic decoding errors owing to sensitive dependence on initial values, the hallmark of deterministic chaos. In this paper, we first show that repetition codes, the oldest and the most basic error correction and detection codes in literature, actually lie on a Cantor set with a fractal dimension of n}{} frac{1}{n} , which is also the rate of the code. Inspired by this, we incorporate error detection capability to GLS-coding by ensuring that the compressed file (initial value on the chaotic map) lies on a Cantor set. Even a 1-bit error in the initial value will throw it outside the Cantor set, which can be detected while decoding. The rate of the code can be adjusted by the fractal dimension of the Cantor set, thereby controlling the error detection performance.

Architecture Design of Aviation Fault-tolerant Computer Based on ARINC659 Bus Technology

The ARINC659 backplane bus is suitable for high safety and high reliability requirements of aircraft on-board computer communication systems. This paper analyzes the structure of ARINC 659 serial backplane bus and the bus fault tolerance mechanism. On the basis of backplane bus, a 4 degree of aviation fault-tolerant computer is designed. Moreover, the computer architecture and computer system of the instruction branch and monitoring branch are designed in the computer channel. The fault-tolerant management of the computer is realized by bus fault tolerance, redundancy voting between computers and the monitoring of the instruction and monitoring branches.

Wearable Vibration Based Computer Interaction and Communication System for Deaf

In individuals with impaired hearing, determining the direction of sound is a significant problem. The direction of sound was determined in this study, which allowed hearing impaired individuals to perceive where sounds originated. This study also determined whether something was being spoken loudly near the hearing impaired individual. In this manner, it was intended that they should be able to recognize panic conditions more quickly. The developed wearable system has four microphone inlets, two vibration motor outlets, and four Light Emitting Diode (LED) outlets. The vibration of motors placed on the right and left fingertips permits the indication of the direction of sound through specific vibration frequencies. This study applies the ReliefF feature selection method to evaluate every feature in comparison to other features and determine which features are more effective in the classification phase. This study primarily selects the best feature extraction and classification methods. Then, the prototype device has been tested using these selected methods on themselves. ReliefF feature selection methods are used in the studies; the success of K nearest neighborhood (Knn) classification had a 93% success rate and classification with Support Vector Machine (SVM) had a 94% success rate. At close range, SVM and two of the best feature methods were used and returned a 98% success rate. When testing our wearable devices on users in real time, we used a classification technique to detect the direction and our wearable devices responded in 0.68 s; this saves power in comparison to traditional direction detection methods. Meanwhile, if there was an echo in an indoor environment, the success rate increased; the echo canceller was disabled in environments without an echo to save power. We also compared our system with the localization algorithm based on the microphone array; the wearable device that we developed had a high success rate and it produced faster results at lower cost than other methods. This study provides a new idea for the benefit of deaf individuals that is preferable to a computer environment.
