Influence of Green Accounting, Sales Growth, and Firm Size on the Quality of Capital Structure

Profit is the most important measurement tool for a company's success. The sustainability of a company is not determined solely by profits, but sustainability factors must be taken into account when carrying out the company's operational activities. The aim of this research is to find out whether green accounting, sales growth and company size have an influence on the company's capital structure. In addition, this research aims to analyze green accounting, sales growth and company size, which simultaneously have an impact on the company's capital structure. The companies examined in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange during 2019-2022. This research is quantitative research and the survey method is purposive sampling. The data analysis techniques used are multiple linear regression, coefficient of determination and hypothesis testing. The research results found that green accounting and sales growth had no impact on capital structure, company size had a significant impact on capital structure, and green accounting, sales growth and company size had a significant impact on capital structure at the same time. This research has provided a solid foundation for signaling theory as a basis for analyzes explaining how green accounting, earnings growth and firm size influence capital structure. It is hoped that these results can serve as a guide for preparing further research by adding more variables such as profitability as an intervening variable to improve the company's capital structure.

Does Fintech merger and acquisition change a firm's financial statement?

AbstractThrough a comprehensive analysis of United States public firms, we explore the implications of mergers and acquisitions within the Financial Technology (Fintech) sector on a company's value and capital structure. The financial statements of financial institutions engaged in Fintech mergers and acquisitions differ significantly from those of other nonfinancial institutions involved in various high‐technology acquisitions. Our results indicate that when a financial company acquires a Fintech firm, it enhances the acquirer's overall firm value and cash holdings. Furthermore, these mergers and acquisitions within the high‐technology sector exert distinct influences on a company's leverage and cash flow.

 This research aims to investigate the implications of funding strategies employed by PT Jasa Marga and its subsidiary PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol on their financial performance. With the Indonesian government's increased investment in toll road infrastructure, Jasa Marga, a State-Owned Enterprise, has undertaken expansive endeavors, augmenting investments from IDR 24.8 trillion in 2018 to IDR 78.6 trillion by 2022. However, this escalation in investment levels also brings forth heightened liabilities, predominantly stemming from reliance on debt, particularly bank loans, in addition to equity. Such a scenario presents challenges in managing payment obligations and, if not handled adeptly, could imperil Jasa Marga's financial performance. Consequently, strategies aimed at bolstering the company's capital structure are slated for implementation in 2023. This exploration aims to assess how these financial strategies and the debt-equity balance influence company value and financial health, drawing on frameworks like the Pecking Order Theory. It seeks to comprehend the ramifications of internal and external financing on the company's solvency, as measured by ratios such as Debt Equity Ratio (DER), Debt Ratio, and Interest Coverage Ratio (ICR). The literature review delves into various financial strategies such as crowdfunding and Initial Public Offering (IPO), elucidating their motivations and repercussions on companies, with a specific focus on aspects like information asymmetry and changes in post-IPO performance. This research integrates theories, practical strategies, and financial metrics to derive meaningful, data-driven conclusions aimed at optimizing capital structure and enhancing financial stability. Analisis Determinan Struktur Modal Perusahaan Manufaktur Sektor Aneka Industri yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) Tahun 2016-2022

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of profitability, tangibility, growth opportunity, non-debt tax shield (NDTS), uniqueness on the company's capital structure. The data used in this research is panel data taken from the financial reports of manufacturing companies in the various industrial sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from the 2016-2022 period. By using non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique, a sample of 20 companies was obtained. The method used is panel data regression analysis method. In this research, testing and selection of the best model was carried out using the Chow test and Hausman test, and the result is that the Fixed effect model is the best model. The results showed that profitability, non-debt taxshield (NDTS) and uniqueness had a negative and significant effect on capital structure, with each value of the coefficient of profitability, non-debt taxshield (NDTS) and uniqueness, tangibility has a positive and significant effect while growth opportunity has a positive and insignificant effect with each tangibility coefficient value, growth opportunity by testing using a significance level of 5%. Simultaneously, profitability, tangibility, growth opportunity, non-debt tax shield (NDTS), uniqueness significantly influence the capital structure with a coefficient of determination of 82.7746%.

Pengaruh Struktur Modal, Profitabilitas Dan Pertumbuhan Perusahaan Terhadap Nilai Perusahaan Dengan Kebijakan Dividen Sebagai Variabel Intervening Pada Perusahaan Manufaktur Yang Terdaftar Di Bursa Efek Indonesia Periode 2018-2022

This study aims to determine the effect of capital structure, profitability, and company growth on the company's value with dividend policy as an intervening variable in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The type of approach in this study is associative quantitative with data collection using documentation studies and secondary data in the form of annual reports published by the company on the official website of the IDX, www.idx.co.id. The study population is all manufacturing companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Sampling technique with purposive sampling obtained samples of 35 companies with observation years starting from 2018-2022 (5 years) so that 175 samples were obtained. Data analysis techniques used in this study using path analysis with SPSS v.26. The results of this study indicate that the capital structure, profitability, and growth of the company have a significant effect on dividend policy. The capital structure, profitability, growth of the company significantly affect the value of the company, while the dividend policy does not affect the value of the company. Dividend policy cannot mediate the influence of the company's capital structure, profitability and growth on the value of the company in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2022.

Analysis the Effect of Profitability, Liquidity, Company Size and Business Risk on The Capital Structure of Companies Listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) PERIOD 2015-2017

This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability (return on assets), liquidity (current ratio), company size and business risk on capital structure in companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for the period 2015-2017. The samples in this study were 16 companies that met the research criteria through non probability sampling method - purposive sampling. The analysis method used in this research is multiple linear analysis method processed with eviews 9 software. The results of this study indicate that profitability and liquidity have a negative and significant effect on capital structure, while company size and business risk have a positive and significant effect on capital structure.

Analysis The Effect Of Profitability, Liquidity, Company Size, And Sales Growth On Capital Structure

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence between Profitability, Liquidity, Company Size, and Sales Growth on Capital Structure in public companies in the property and real estate sub-sector on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2011-2015. In this study, four variables were taken that allegedly affect Capital Structure, namely Profitability, Liquidity, Company Size, and Sales Growth with multiple linear regression analysis equations using the Stepwise method, classical assumption testing consisting of normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests and autocorrelation tests using the Statistical Product for Social Science (SPSS) program version 22.0 for windows and Microsoft Excel 2016. The sample of companies was taken as many as 33 companies from 49 populations of property and real estate sub-sector companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The results of this study show that partially, Liquidity, and Company Size have a significant influence on Capital Structure. Meanwhile, in terms of model feasibility there is a significant influence between Liquidity, Company Size, and Sales Growth on Capital Structure. Should be able to pay more attention to the movement or change of Capital Structure based on the variables of Profitability, Liquidity, Company Size, and Sales Growth. Because these variables can affect the rise or fall of the Capital Structure in public companies, propert and real estate sub-sectors.

The Influence of Growth Sales, Capital Structure and Corporate Governance on Financial Performance of Consumer Non-Cyclical Firms In Indonesia

<p>This study aims to discover the relationship between growth sales, capital structure, and corporate governance on financial performance of consumer consumer non-cyclical firms in Indonesia. Financial performance is observed from market performance (Tobin's Q) and profitability performance (ROA). The population in this study is firms in consumer consumer non-cyclical on Indonesia Stock Exchange. The total population is 113 firms. 39 firms were selected as samples. The data is obtained from the annual report which starts from the period 2018 to 2022. A total of the population was determined as samples by purposive sampling method. Data analysis using panel data regression. The result shows: 1) Growth Sales have a significant influence on market performance; however, it does not have a significant effect on profitability performance. 2) Capital Structure significantly influences market and profitability performance 3) Corporate governance significantly influences market and profitability performance. Suggestions for companies that must strive to increase sales, maintain good corporate governance and pay attention to the company's capital structure in a balanced manner.</p>

Leverage is an alternative source of financing from outside the company which can offer advantages and disadvantages for the company. The purpose of This research is to analyze the impact of independent variables such as profitability, fixed tangible assets, liquidity, company size, and opportunities growth on company leverage. Trade-off theory is used in research. This is to explain the condition of the company's overall capital structure using debt. Profitability is the ability of a company to do to generate profits over a certain period at the level of sales, assets, and share capital certain. Tangible fixed assets are tangible assets with a useful life of more than one year. Liquidity is the degree to which an asset can be easily converted into money. Company size is a way to group the scale of a company seen from the size of the company. Growth opportunity is an opportunity future growth of a company. This research will use manufacturing companies that have been registered on the BEI (Indonesian Stock Exchange) for the 2019 period 2021 as an object. Based on the t test, the Sig value is obtained. for X1: 0.285, X2: 0.077, X3: 0.000, X4: 0.064, X5: 0.002. The coefficient results from the t test show the value of X1: 0.097, X2: 0.210, X3: -0.184, X4: -0.006, X5: 0.270. Results of the coefficient of determination for the research model shows a value of 0.501. The conclusions obtained in this research are it is not proven that profitability, tangible fixed assets, and company size have influence on leverage. There is evidence that liquidity has a negative effect on leverage and growth opportunities have a positive effect on leverage.

Pengaruh Profitabilitas, Likuiditas, Struktur Aset, dan Pertumbuhan Penjualan Terhadap Struktur Modal pada Perusahaan Sektor Consumer Goods Industry yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia Tahun 2019-2022

This research aims to test and analyze the influence of profitability, liquidity, asset structure, and sales growth on capital structure in companies in the consumer goods industry sector. This type of research is quantitative research with a sample of companies in the consumer goods industry sector. The independent variables used in this research are profitability, liquidity, asset structure, and sales growth, while the dependent variable in this research is capital structure. The sample in this study was 32 companies using the purposive sampling technique. The data analysis method used is multiple regression analysis. Based on the results of research conducted with a sample of 32 companies, it can be concluded as follows: (1) The profitability variable has a significant positive influence on capital structure because the company is carrying out expansion which requires a lot of funds to encourage increased profits in the future. (2) The liquidity variable has a significant negative influence on capital structure because sector companies that have high liquidity means they can pay short-term debt, so they tend to reduce total debt, which ultimately will make the capital structure smaller. (3) The asset structure variable does not have an influence on the capital structure because most of the company's fixed assets are financed with the company's internal funds. An increase in fixed assets is not always followed by an increase in long-term debt. (4) The sales growth variable does not influence the capital structure because sales tend not to be supported by an efficient increase in the company's capital, resulting in operational costs that are too high

Rasio Leverage dan Aktivitas dalam Mempengaruhi Profitabilitas Perusahaan Farmasi

This study aims to analyse the effect of Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Total Asset Turnover (TATO) on Return on Equity (ROE) in the context of corporate financial performance. DAR measures the extent to which the company's assets are financed with debt, DER measures the company's capital structure, while TAT measures how efficient the company is in generating revenue from its assets. ROE is a metric that reflects a company's level of profitability compared to shareholders' equity. This study uses a quantitative approach in which the data is in the form of annual financial reports of Pharmaceutical Companies for the period 2017 - 2021. This study aims to determine, examine and analyse the conditions of Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Total Asset Turnover (TATO) on Return on Equity (ROE). The sampling technique used purposive sampling. This type of research uses quantitative descriptive analysis with data analysis techniques using panel data regression analysis. The results showed that DAR and TATO had a significant positive effect on ROE, while DER did not affect ROE. From the research results, the company should pay more attention to capital and asset turnover to be more effective in increasing profits.

FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMENGARUHI STRUKTUR MODAL PADA PERUSAHAAN MANUFAKTUR

The purpose of this study was to obtain empirical evidence regarding the effect of profitability, firm size, asset structure, sales growth, and firm age on capital structure. The method used to select the sample is purposive sampling and obtained as many as 39 samples of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2019. The selected sample will be processed using the Eviews 12 Student Version program and Microsoft Excel. The results shown in this study are that profitability and asset structure have a negative effect on capital structure, firm size and sales growth do not have a positive effect on capital structure, while company age does not negatively affect capital. The implication of this research is that companies need to pay attention to profitability and asset structure to maximize the company's capital structure.

What factors impact debt levels in the health sector? Evidence for a bank system-oriented country

ObjetivoO principal objetivo deste estudo é examinar os determinantes do nível de endividamento no setor de saúde em Portugal, levando em consideração os efeitos da pandemia de COVID-19. Ao mesmo tempo, tenta-se compreender se o efeito de uma crise pandêmica é semelhante ao de uma crise financeira.Design/metodologia/abordagemPara atingir esse objetivo, foram analisados dois subperíodos: um período global entre 2011 e 2020, que inclui a crise pandêmica, e o período entre 2011 e 2014, designado como o período de assistência financeira pela “Troika” em Portugal. Para uma amostra de 514 empresas pertencentes ao código NACE: 86100 – atividades do setor de saúde com hospitalização, foi aplicada a metodologia de dados em painel, especificamente o método generalizado de momentos (GMM)-sistema proposto por Arellano e Bover (1995) e Blundell e Bond (1998).ResultadosOs resultados do estudo estão de acordo com a teoria explicativa da ordem de preferência (“Pecking-order”), demonstrando que as empresas neste setor seguem uma hierarquia de financiamento, recorrendo preferencialmente a fundos gerados internamente e dívida externa. Além disso, os resultados revelam que a estrutura de capital das empresas mudou devido à pandemia de COVID-19. No que diz respeito ao período de assistência financeira, não há diferenças significativas na evidência quando se considera a proporção total de dívida. Os resultados sugerem impactos diferentes quando se trata de um período de mercado em baixa causado por uma crise de saúde ou um período de desaceleração econômica.Originalidade/valorAté onde sabemos, este é o primeiro estudo que analisa os níveis de dívida no contexto do setor de saúde em um país com um sistema financeiro baseado no setor bancário, utilizando índices de dívida de curto e longo prazo, levando em consideração as particularidades de dois momentos diferentes considerados como momentos de mercado em baixa que eventualmente podem ser úteis para comparação com outros momentos de mercado em baixa em outros ambientes macroeconômicos.

The Effect of Profitability, Liquidity and Leverage Ratios on Internet Financial Reporting and Company Size as Moderating Variables During The Covid 19 Pandemic (An Empirical Study on the BEI Various Industries Sub-Sector)

Internet media has become a tool that provides a means for open company financial reporting as information for external parties because openness can reduce the level of information asymmetry that can occur in financial reports, so that it can accelerate company growth. The nature and characteristics of the internet which is easy to spread (pervasiveness), knows no borders (borderlessness), is timely (real time), low cost (low cost), makes disclosing information via the company website easier in finding all the necessary information related to the company, without having to incur high costs, Abdillah (2015). The development of the internet has created a new way of conveying company financial report information, namely using the Internet Financial Repoting (IFR) system, Yuli Kurniawati (2018). Every company has had many improvements in terms of company profits. Profitability is an indicator measuring management performance in managing company assets which can be shown by increasing profits that can be generated by the company. By indicating that the greater the company's profitability value, the company has good performance management. The liquidity ratio is an indicator of the level of a company's ability to pay short-term obligations. If the company is illiquid, there is a tendency for the company to experience bankruptcy. The ratio is prorated using the Current Ratio, which is about the comparison between current assets and current liabilities. The leverage ratio is a ratio that is an indicator of a company's capital structure. A high level of leverage can encourage management to carry out Internet Financial Reporting to take advantage of opportunities for good information from the company. Company size is a description of how big or small a company is, which can be measured by the size of the asset value, total sales, or the market value of the company's equity. Profitability and leverage influence the Internet Financial Report, while liquidity has no influence on the Internet Financial Report. Size can strengthen the influence of leverage on the Internet Financial Report, while size cannot strengthen the influence of profitability and liquidity on the Internet Financial Report

Minimizing Disguised Equity as Mandated by the Income Tax Law of Indonesia

The Indonesian government has limited the Debt-to-Equity Ratio (DER) to a maximum of 4:1 since the 2016 tax year and reduced the corporate income tax rate from 25% to 22% since the 2020 tax year. I compared data on public companies in Indonesia and Thailand to see the impact of reducing tax rates to reduce Tax Avoidance and reduce Disguised Equity. I also analyzed the findings of eleven previous studies regarding the effectiveness of DER restrictions in Reducing Tax Avoidance and Disguised Equity. As a result, a decrease in the tax rate has not been correlated with tax avoidance and DER. DER restrictions, although effective in reducing Disguised Equity, are ineffective in boosting tax revenues through company capital structure changes because with a DER limit of 4:1, companies still have room for tax savings. The DER limit of 4:1 is still higher than the average DER in sample companies of 0.3:1. Therefore, I suggest that the government immediately implement interest cost limitation regulations with the Interest Expense Limitation Based on EBITDA provisions as recommended by the OECD. I simulated changes in interest cost financing restrictions for companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2016 and 2021 if using a DER limit of 4:1 and if using Interest Expense Limitation Based on EBITDA. As a result, the government can increase potential tax revenues significantly.

The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that explain the capital structure of Ukrainian non-financial corporations. The study was carried out on a sample of 8525 Ukrainian large and medium-sized enterprises on the time horizon of 2014-2019, covering one economic cycle. Banks and non-bank financial institutions are excluded from the sample of enterprises, since the structure of their assets differs from that of commercial companies. To determine the impact of fundamental factors, the capital structure of companies is represented separately by three indicators: i) the level of current debt, ii) the level of long-term debt, and iii) the level of debt in general in the structure of liabilities of enterprises. The list of indicators that explain the capital structure of Ukrainian companies includes fundamental indicators – profitability, company size, asset structure, current liquidity, growth; and macroeconomic variables: GDP growth and consumer price index. The results of the study confirm that the conception of sequential actions best explains the principle by which Ukrainian companies form the structure of liabilities. According to the results of the modeling, the company’s factors demonstrate statistical significance, but do not explain the variation in the level of debt in terms of types of economic activity. Only the factors of profitability, asset structure and type of economic activity are statistically significant for all types of models. The sign of the influence of factors that determine the capital structure of Ukrainian companies corresponds to the results of studies of both developed countries and transition economies. Also, the impact of factors on the level of indebtedness of enterprises differs significantly depending on the maturity of obligations. This study can be further developed by updating the calculations and data that include the period of recent crises. This will allow us to check whether companies have changed their approaches to choosing a capital structure during the wartime.

Capital Structure and Financial Performance of Insurance companies listed at Nairobi Securities Exchange.

Capital structure refers to the mix of debt and equity used by a firm in financing its assets. It enables a firm to determine its financial strengths and to identify its weaknesses and also strengthens the firm’s ability to meet maturing obligations and to convert assets into cash. The research was guided by the objective to establish the relationship between capital structure and financial performance of listed insurance companies at NSE in Kenya. To meet the objectives of the study, a descriptive research design was adopted. The study mainly used secondary data collected from audited Financial statements from listed insurance firms at NSE for 10 years. The population of interest was the performance as measured by ROA, ROE and capital structure as measured by the debt/equity ratio from the Financial years from 2009 to 2018. Data obtained from insurance companies for a period of ten years was analyzed using financial ratios to ascertain the change in financial performance as a result of different capital structures. Data was presented using tables and analysed by statistical software STATA version 15.. Capital structure decision was found to be critical for any business organization due to the need of maximizing returns to various organizational components, and also because of the impact such a decision has on a firm’s ability to deal with its competitive and volatile environment effectively. The findings indicated that debt to equity ratio accounted for a smaller percentage of financial performance of all three types of insurance companies. There was a positive but weak relationship between capital structure and financial performance.

The Influence of Current Ratio (CR), Return of Assets (ROA), Company Size and Sales Growth on Capital Structure in Companies Registered on JII for the 2015-2021 Period

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Current Ratio (CR), Return Of Assets (ROA), Company Size (size) and Sales Growth (Growth) on the Capital Structure of companies listed on JII for the 2015-2021 period. The sample in this study were 10 companies. The data used in this study comes from secondary data obtained from the company's financial statements. Related to data analysis, this study uses linear regression analysis of panel data with the Random Effect Model (REM) model. It is known that the results obtained in this study are Current Ratio (CR) having a negative and significant effect on capital structure by proxies Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Return Of Assets (ROA), and Firm Size having a positive and significant effect on capital structure by Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) proxy and Sales Growth has no effect on capital structure. Therefore, companies can increase their Current Ratio (CR), Return Of Assets (ROA), and Company Size so that the company's capital structure can be used optimally and efficiently.
