This research was intended to contribute to the systematization of experiences in rural tourism by means of new tools for the design and evaluation of projects aimed at developing sustainable tourism. The main objective was to analyze an experience, in terms of compliance and integration of the principles of sustainable tourism, and to propose sustainability indicators based on work with the community. The tools used for their analysis, some new and some adapted, are applicable to other evaluations in so far as this case, although specific, also reflects realities experienced in other communities of Colombia and Latin America.
