The concept of happiness is an important process for every living being. Happiness is when someone feels satisfied with what they do, feels happy when they are with someone, and they are happy when they get praise. This research is to find out the meaning of happiness of the Yogyakarta Palace's Abdi Dalem Community. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the happiness of the indigenous people of the Yogyakarta palace. This research uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach conducted in the Yogyakarta palace from September to November 2023. Information was obtained using interview techniques with subjects who served the Yogyakarta palace. The data analysis carried out in this study is a qualitative data analysis in which the data analyzed is all the data encountered in the field, used miles and Huberman interactive data by carrying out data reduction. then proceed with the presentation of data and end with drawing conclusions on the results of the research that has been carried out.

Entrepreneurs' contribution to community happiness capital from community-based tourism: A causal relationship model study

This study aims to examine the influence of creative leadership on community happiness capital development, investigate the role of participative management in enhancing community happiness capital, and explore the impact of community happiness capital development on improving quality of life. A quantitative research design was employed, with a sample of 260 entrepreneurs involved in community-based tourism in Phatthalung Province, Thailand. Data were collected through questionnaires, and structural equation modeling was used for hypothesis testing. The results indicate that the proposed model, examining the causal relationship and effect of community happiness capital development, fits the empirical data well (chi-square = 47.775, p-value = 0.563, chi-square/df = 0.955, CFI = 1.000, GFI = 0.973, AGFI = 0.951, RMSEA = 0.000). The findings suggest that these insights can be applied to policy development to support the growth and sustainability of community enterprises, contributing to local economic stimulation.

This paper seeks to analyze the impact of the Strong Synergy Program to Support Clean and Healthy Villages through the concept of "From Waste to Happy Community." Based on data that has been collected from posyandu activities in May 2024 in Keluang Village, Tungkal Ilir District, Banyuasin Regency, there are 8 toddlers experiencing stunting and malnutrition conditions out of 40 toddlers who attended the activity. The program is designed to reduce the amount of wood waste thrown away and reduce the negative impact caused, provide educational play tools that can improve the quality of children's learning and stimulation, help improve stunting conditions through better cognitive and motor stimulation, and provide economic opportunities for local artisans and drive the community's economy. This paper and the program can be a breakthrough in synergistic innovation, where it is a combination of environmental solutions with health and education interventions in Indonesia.

Role of green open spaces in the mental health and happiness of urban communities

Background: Mental health is the most important thing in human life, but in reality in Indonesia the level of mental health disorders is still high. People who live in urban areas are vulnerable to mental health disorders such as anxiety, stress and depression which are caused, among other things, by high work pressure and lack of recreational activities. Method: This article uses a non-experimental correlational method, collecting secondary data from various sources and journal articles without experimental manipulation. The focus is on urban communities. Findings: Difficulty accessing natural things, such as rural environments, even something "green". is one of the factors that makes urban residents easily experience depression. Depression can cause decreased energy, sleep disturbances, changes in appetite, and other physical problems, therefore fulfilling recreational needs that are cheap and easily accessible through public open spaces can be a solution to reduce people's stress levels. Conclusion: Green open space (RTH) provides an opportunity to escape from fatigue, work pressure, city crowds so that people can release their stress by immersing themselves in nature and connecting themselves with the natural environment. RTH has many positive benefits so its existence is very necessary, especially in densely populated residential areas. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study proposes a model for integrating green open space (GOS) into urban planning that considers physical aspects and therapeutic functions for mental health. This model combines evidence-based GOS design with community mental health programs, creating a 'green healing zone' that can be accessed and optimally utilized by city residents to reduce stress and improve mental well-being.

Determining community happiness index with transformers and attention-based deep learning

In the current digital era, evaluating the quality of people's lives and their happiness index is closely related to their expressions and opinions on Twitter social media. Measuring population welfare goes beyond monetary aspects, focusing more on subjective well-being, and sentiment analysis helps evaluate people's perceptions of happiness aspects. Aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) effectively identifies sentiments on predetermined aspects. The previous study has used Word-to-Vector (Word2Vec) and long short-term memory (LSTM) methods with or without attention mechanism (AM) to solve ABSA cases. However, the problem with the previous study is that Word2Vec has the disadvantage of being unable to handle the context of words in a sentence. Therefore, this study will address the problem with bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT), which has the advantage of performing bidirectional training. Bayesian optimization as a hyperparameter tuning technique is used to find the best combination of parameters during the training process. Here we show that BERT-LSTM-AM outperforms the Word2Vec-LSTM-AM model in predicting aspect and sentiment. Furthermore, we found that BERT is the best state-of-the-art embedding technique for representing words in a sentence. Our results demonstrate how BERT as an embedding technique can significantly improve the model performance over Word2Vec.

Design for community happiness—an approach and framework

The paper addresses the emerging notion of “happiness” and “community happiness” as means and an objective in site planning and community design highlighting its complexities and illusive nature in terms of scope, aspects, and components to formulate a conceptual “framework” and a design tool for monitoring, enhancing, and developing community happiness, in limited scale urban settings. The research presents and follows the proposition that “happiness” is inherently addressed in site planning and design processes and the closely related notions and drives of “sustainable development” and “quality of life”. The design for the “community happiness” framework is formulated through a sequence of relational matrices, for “happiness”, “sustainable development”, and “quality of life”, each comprising selected international approaches and agendas, related indicators, and key aspects, physical, and non-physical, emphasizing similarities and overlapping. The proposed “framework” and underlying propositions were validated through a pilot questionnaire, targeting a sample of specialists, and practicing academics. The participants generally accepted the research key propositions, adopted the method and the proposed “framework”, and interacted with them, emphasizing the relative weights of the selected “happiness” key indicators and relations to site planning elements, and criteria. The relative importance of the design criteria, the related “happiness” indicators, and the likely products, as well as the cost of achieving “happiness” deserve to be further addressed, in future research.

Understanding the social capital – happiness link among online brand communities: influence of psychological well-being and membership duration

PurposeBased on the principles of the social capital theory (SCT), this study aimed to generate hypotheses and evaluate a mediated moderated model that examined the impact of social capital on online brand community happiness (OBCH).Design/methodology/approachUsing 215 online questionnaires from users of private online brand communities (OBCs) , researchers examined the hypothesized connections between variables. The SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 26.0 were applied to fulfill the purpose.FindingsFor the goodness of model fit, the authors have applied cut off criteria for fit indexes given by Hu and Bentler (1999) and model-fit measures indicators, i.e. CMIN/DF 1.397, CFI 0.958, SRMR 0.045, RMSEA 0.043 and PCLOSE 0.866, which meet the minimum acceptable criteria. Based on the results, social capital significantly affects psychological well-being (PWB), which, consequently, leads toward increased happiness among OBCs. Furthermore, membership duration moderates the relationship between PWB and OBCs.Research limitations/implicationsThe authors have utilized a cross-sectional research design, and it limits the researcher’s ability to generalize the findings. These findings imply how social capital leverages PWB and OBCH. Moreover, the presence of membership duration helps to understand that members who spend more time in the community are happier in the OBCs.Practical implicationsIn this age of social media, it provides valuable guidance to the administrators of private Facebook groups dedicated to specific brands, enhancing the definition and development of OBC operations and community interactions.Originality/valueThis research takes a broader look at social capital’s impact on happiness among private OBCs. The current research contributes to the existing body of work by emphasizing the role of PWB in generating happiness. The study is novel in examining the mediating moderating model of PWB and membership duration to explore deep insights for social media platforms.

Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Smart Cities

A smart city makes use of available technologies to improve the efficiency of its operations and enhance the quality of life of its citizens. The technologies that have had and continue to have a significant impact on smart cities include hyperconnected networks such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI). AI is increasingly becoming involved in all aspects of human existence. Many see the emergence of AI as a revolution that will impact every aspect of our lives. Some see it as an evolution based on the recent advances in powerful computational platforms, and access to massive amounts of data. IoT provides an elaborate platform for collecting data from various applications. AI can analyze this data and make intelligent decisions enabling the development of smart systems. This combination is leading to the rapid development of smart systems. These systems include smart healthcare, smart transportation, smart energy, smart agriculture, and many more, addressing the needs of smart cities. Using these technologies in smart cities will certainly promote cohesive, connected, healthier, and happier communities. This paper examines the current state of AI in smart cities and discusses potential AI applications for the further development of smart cities.

This trend needs serious attention by governments to create solutions that will make sure that their citizens will continue to have sustainable and improved quality of life. Smart cities use all the available technologies to achieve that goal and to improve the efficiency of their operations. This massive undertaking of making existing cities smart and building the new smart cities, comes with many opportunities as well as some challenges. Digitization of services, smart operations, and connectivity are essential parts of smart cities. The smart cities will certainly promote cohesive, connected, healthier, and happier communities. This paper elaborates the opportunities and the challenges in moving the smart cities concept forward.

The Impact of Housing on Happiness

This scientific paper aims to investigate and understand the complex relationship between housing and happiness by examining the different factors that influence subjective well-being through analyzing a wide range of studies. It investigates the multifaceted ways in which housing conditions contribute and deter to individual happiness.
 The research question guiding this paper is: How does housing, including housing conditions, housing stability, affordability, and neighborhood characteristics influence individual happiness? The analysis seeks to provide insights into the mechanisms through which housing can affect individuals' happiness. Furthermore, the paper explores the potential mechanisms through which housing affects broader social well-being, highlighting the importance of housing policies and interventions in promoting the public’s overall happiness. The paper concludes with policy implications to enhance the happiness of individuals and communities through housing intervention.

Collaborative Governance dalam Meningkatkan Indeks Kebahagiaan Masyarakat (Index of Happiness) di Kota Bandung

This study aims to determine collaborative governance in increasing the index of people's happiness in the city of Bandung. The happiness index for the city of Bandung has increased from 2014 to 2018. However, in 2019-2020 there was no measurement of the happiness index in the city of Bandung. The community happiness index in 2019-2020 can experience a decline, this is due to the impact of 10 community happiness index benchmarks in the city of Bandung. This research uses the theory from Ansel and Gash which looks at governance collaboration in 4 stages namely initial conditions, institutional design, facilitative leadership, and collaboration processes. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the initial conditions, collaboration can be carried out by both parties according to needs, 2) there is no specific institutional design that houses the happiness index, 3) the Bandung City Cooperation Field acts as an intermediary between the government and the collaborating parties, 4) there has been a collaboration of municipal, group and individual internal governance.

Public Sector Performance and Digital-Governance Effectiveness Predicted by Community Happiness as a Representation of Culture

The current study focused on community happiness as a representation of Indonesian culture. For that purpose, the influence of work culture and human resource management in public sector institutions for developing and enhancing community happiness was assessed directly using Veenhoven's theory of happiness. In addition, the contingent effectiveness of digital governance and enhancing the valuables influence of work culture and human resource management on public sector performance was examined. The National Agency for Drug and Food Control (NADFC) was used to empirically examine the study's theoretical framework using posts from 691 Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram followers of NADFC. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS 3.3.0. The results revealed the significant direct and indirect impacts of public sector institutions' work culture and human resource management on community happiness via an underlying performance mechanism. Indirect influences were higher than direct ones in creating and enhancing community happiness. These results show the significance of the performance of public sector institutions in bringing happiness to citizens instead of merely having an innovative work culture or best-managed human resources. The results also revealed that digital governance is highly valuable in transmitting the positive influence of work culture and human resource management and enhancing the performance of such institutions.

Corporate Nirvana: The Buddhist way to social sustainability and business innovation

AbstractPrevailing consumption‐based business models and capitalist practices place significant strain on the environment and society. Buddhism, as a practicing religion, may provide insights on practicing models as a solution to sustain society, the environment, and businesses. The present investigation adopts a structured literature review methodology to take stock of such prior studies and articulate its representation of Buddhism‐based business models, practices, ethical frameworks, and economic views. Based on the findings, it is clear that the prior studies have discussed the practitioner context of Buddhism religion in order to promote ethical and mindful business practices at the consumer, managerial, and business levels; to reduce the negative effects of identity politics in the workplace through spirituality; to introduce the idea of considering factors other than purely financial profitability; and to encourage the long‐term viability and genuine happiness of individuals, communities, and organizations. In relation to these topics, research avenues are proposed.

The Impact of Air Pollution on the Happiness Index of ASEAN Communities

Happiness is the primary human goal, so a more inclusive, fair, and balanced approach is required to promote a sustainable economy, poverty alleviation, and the happiness and well-being of all people (SDGs Pyramid to Happiness, United Nations 2012). The Human Development Index (HDI) is one indicator that can be used as a benchmark for sustainable development that supports the implementation of the SDGs. In addition to HDI, Per capita income is also pivotal because it involves the community’s ability to meet basic human needs (clothing, board food). Air pollution is a complex problem in today’s society, which secretly seeks public health. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of the HDI, Per Capita Income, and Air Pollution on community happiness. The study population consisted of nine countries in the ASEAN region for the 2015-2019 period. This quantitative research uses secondary data from the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program, and the State of Global Air. The dependent variable used was the Happiness Index (HI), while the independent variables used were the Human Development Index (HDI), Per Capita Income (PCI), and Air Pollution (AP). In this study, to conduct panel data regression analysis, Random Effect Model is assisted with the statistical software Eviews 10. The results of this study indicate that PI (sig. 0,02; coefficient value 0,40) has a positive and significant effect, while HDI (sig. 0,30; coefficient value 1,37) has a positive and not significant effect on HI, and AP (sig. 0,47; coefficient value -0.02) has a negative and insignificant impact on HI. Therefore, the government and society must strive to improve the quality of human resources and the environment to increase people’s happiness.

 Islam is a perfect religion with teachings in it that create happiness and prosperity for its adherents but unfortunately there are still many people who have not embraced Islam, and moreover it is very unfortunate that people who have embraced Islam still do not want to practice Islamic teachings let alone to preach, spread them, Therefore, it is very necessary to carry out da'wah activities that are able to build an Islamic society, so that later it is expected to be able to create a prosperous and happy community life. Da'wah that can be carried out includes words of invitation, examples of deeds and with writings like those in this journal writing, in which there is an explanation of how to build a real Islamic society, and in order to truly realize an Islamic society, practice is needed so it's not just a theory of service, and of course the need for unity from the Muslims themselves, because Muslims will be strong by uniting and helping each other, an Islamic society will be built.

Happiness and sense of community belonging in the world value survey

People derive considerable social benefits from interacting with others that they encounter across a host of environmental domains: their city, region, country, continent, and even the world at large. We explore the extent to which perceived happiness hinges on one's sense of connection within each domain, drawing upon a large international sample of 120k respondents from 74 nations in the World Value Survey (2017–2020). This large battery of social and political attitudes includes items that ask: “tell me how close you feel to…” followed by each of city, region, country, continent, and the world. Options ranged from ‘very close’ to ‘not very close at all.’ Perceived happiness was scored on a 4-option item asking: “taking all things together, would you say you are…” with options ranging from ‘very happy’ to ‘not at all happy.’ After accounting for various demographic variables like age, sex, education, urban/rural environment, and income, results from a stepwise ordinal logistic regression analysis showed that one's perceived happiness was predicted by feeling connected to almost all domains; and the more connected one felt, the happier they were. One's connection however to region was not significant, wherein we suspect the item was too ambiguous for a clear response. Implications for overall wellbeing are discussed, as are directions for future research.

Sustainable Smart Homes and Community Happiness in the Malaysian Context

Sustainable smart houses are one of the methods through which all these factors can be touched upon because such houses provide social well-being and cause less damage to the environment. Therefore, this study analysed the predictors of purchase behaviour of sustainable smart houses and their impact on community happiness. Among the predictors which are part of this study include attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, cost, intention, and social media networks. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey from 187 Malaysian respondents, and SmartPLS was used for data analysis. Results revealed that purchase of sustainable smart houses does have an impact on community happiness. It establishes the extent to which community well-being has been prioritised by local property developers. In addition, it suggests strategies to help these developers to materialise the goals of smart and sustainable property development focusing on community well-being.

Analysis The Quality Of Tourism Services And Facilities In Increasing The Happiness Of The Visiting Community (Study On Kayangan Hill Tourism, Renah Kayu Embun Village, Sungai Penuh City, Jambi Province)

Bukit Khayangan is the name of a flagship tour of Sungai Penuh City which is managed by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Sungai Penuh City. However, problems are still found because there are visitors who are disappointed because Bukit Khayangan Tourism is not well maintained, such as garbage scattered about because the trash can is not yet available. In addition, there are no guide officers who directly serve tourists. Tourist facilities such as tourist huts that were built on the strategic side of this tour are feared that the roof will fall on visitors who are sitting in the hut. Then the unavailability of lodging around the tour. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative approach whose aim is to determine the effect of the independent variable (Quality of Service and Tourism Facilities) on the dependent variable (Community Happiness). The population in this study were visitors to Bukit Khayangan Tourism in 2020, amounting to 15,512 people. The sample in the study was determined by the Taro Yamane formula and an error rate of 10%, so that a sample of 100 respondents was obtained. Then from the sample, using the Proportional Random Sampling technique, if the technique is not sufficient in the number of samples, it will be continued with the Accidental Sampling technique. by 26.6% ; tourism facilities on the happiness of the community from the R Square value of 0.103, which is 10.3%. And simultaneously, the two dependent variables on people's happiness from the Adjusted R Square value of 0.347, which is 34.7%. From the results of data processing, it is proven that the people who visit Bukit Khayangan Tourism are happy with the services provided by the tour manager and also the tourist facilities provided by the Sungai Penuh City Culture and Tourism Office.
