Knowledge and Access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) services among Research Faculties of CCS HAU, Hisar

The study was carried to determine the knowledge and access of ICTs services among the research faculties of CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. All the colleges of university were selected. Data were collected personally from 120 research faculties selected by simple random sampling technique through a structured questionnaire and analyzed with the help of appropriate statistical tools by using 26 version (SPSS). The findings revealed that majority of the respondents were male having age between 37-47 years with PhD with NET having service experience of 6-10 years belonged to nuclear type of family and had medium family educational status. Knowledge and access regarding MS office and online ICT applications was medium to high among majority of the respondents. Moreover, knowledge and access regarding internet were medium to low while knowledge and access regarding scientific portal/website/tools was found low among respondents.

Preliminary Criteria For Ict in Assisting Students With Psychological Problems

A rising quantity of research designates that adolescents’ and students’ psychological problems pose a risk to them and society. Research indicates that students frequently utilize Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services to get informed about mental health, and to resolve their psychological problems. A critical and reflective analysis of the scientific literature, and a critical examination and reflective synthesis, theories, and practice on the use of ICTs and digital media for the treatment of psychological problems have been employed in this study. The study identifies gaps in research theory and practice regarding the use of ICTs and digital services for the prevention and treatment of mental health issues among adolescents and the student population. The article proposes ten preliminary criteria for ICT use in the treatment of psychological problems as a direction for further research.

ANALISIS SIMULASI PROTOKOL ROUTING DINAMIS OSPF UNTUK PENINGKATAN EFISIENSI JARINGAN HYBRID KAMPUS UNUD DENPASAR

UNUD GDLN building located in UNUD Sudirman campus acts as an information and communication technology service center as an internet access service provider, radio broadcast and online learning. The UNUD Campus network currently uses a static hybrid routing protocol, where the static routing protocol has the disadvantage that the network administrator must always reconfigure the network if there is a topology change. The Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) dynamic routing protocol can be used as a solution to overcome the weaknesses of static routing protocols because it is more suitable for larger networks and has the advantage of automatically determining the best route. This research aims to analyze the application of OSPF routing protocol in UNUD Denpasar Campus with GNS3 simulation. This research uses Quality of Service (QoS) parameters to analyze network performance, and test scenarios by PING with large data transmission that imitates YouTube video streaming. The results showed that OSPF dynamic routing protocol has better performance and has met the TIPHON standard with very good results for packet loss, throughput, and delay parameters and good results for jitter parameters. Tests on static routing protocol simulations and OSPF routing protocols are carried out by comparing the transmission process based on the resolution on YouTube video streaming imitation, starting with 360p, 480p, 720p and 1080p resolutions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that OSPF routing is more suitable and produces better parameter values when transmitting streaming video with a resolution of 480p, 720p and 1080p, while the transmission of streaming video with a resolution of 360p is more suitable for static routing which is more suitable for transmission with lower resolutions.

Examining Work Practices in the ICT Sector: Reinforcing Frameworks for Intellectual Property, Ethics and Privacy By IJISRT

The safety of people's data is crucial given the rise in the use of digital gadgets. The paper examines a business case study that mostly provides information and communication technology services to Australian enterprises. By examining Australian laws and norms pertaining to intellectual property, ethics, and privacy in the ICT sector, the analysis aims to find any gaps in the work practices. Relevant questions are formulated to identify particular problems with current work practices in order to facilitate the study. This will enable the ICT industry to identify any weaknesses and help improve the laws and policies relating to privacy, ethics, and intellectual property.

Method for Calculating the Avoided Impact of Specific Information and Communication Technology Services

Particular Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services can help avoid environmental impact in larger contexts. However, there is no commonly agreed bottom-up methodology for calculation of the total net reduction effect of specific digital ICT services. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a common denominator for most methodologies. The most common method is the Attributional LCA (ALCA), and recently the emerging handprint ALCA estimating so-called positive environmental impacts. Moreover, Consequential LCA (CLCA) can be used to capture market effects. The third conceptual approach is Input-Output LCA. The purpose is to propose and test a new method based on some of the existing ones. The existing concepts are compared and a synthesis is made to create a practical but still useful method. The new method is applied to two illustrative cases in the ICT domain; the introduction of a 5G enabled drone for pipe inspection and the 5G enabled health consultation. Compared to simplified ALCA, the difference between the absolute scores for the baseline system and the target system changes around 10% when the proposed simplified CLCA (SCLCA) method is used. The results show that SCLCA, when combined with analytical methods for expressing digital ICT services’ own impact, is a fruitful approach which is both practical and feasible. The new method includes formulae for calculating the total lifetime environmental impact of a specific ICT Equipment when reused or replaced.

Effects of Information Communication Technology and Customer Service on Customers’ Satisfaction: A Study of the Courier and Parcel Industry in Nigeria

The study investigates the effects of information communication technology and customer service on customers’ satisfaction in the courier and parcel industry in Nigeria. Correlation design was used to investigate the relationship between the independent variables ICT and customer service and the dependent variable customer satisfaction. Questionnaire was administered conveniently to sample 220 customers of the courier and parcel industry in Nigeria, and data analysis carried out using SPSS version 21. The study revealed a significant relationship between ICT and customer satisfaction in the courier and parcel industry in Nigeria. Also, the study found a positive relationship between customer service and customer satisfaction in the courier and parcel industry of Nigeria. Practical implication for service managers and direction for future studies are presented.

Implementation of Event Management Stages in the Hybrid Event “ITDRI ConFes 2023”

The digital disruption era has significantly impacted people’s lives, with the internet becoming an integral part of modern society. This has also affected the marketing communication sector, particularly in the implementation of events. Hybrid events, which allow audiences to join from flexible locations and times, have emerged as a new trend. PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in Information and Communication Technology services and Telecommunications networks, has organized hybrid events to accelerate digital transformation in Indonesia. However, there are obstacles to overcome for smooth implementation. The design of the work “Implementation of Event Management Stages in the Hybrid Event “ITDRI ConFes 2023” PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk” aims to explain the stages of implementing a hybrid event according to Goldblatt's event management stages. The author uses participant observation, documentation, theoretical review, and interviews to design this work. The result is the ITDRI Conference & Festival 2023, which applies the event management process with Joe Goldblatt's theory, including the stages of Research, Design, Planning, Coordination, and Evaluation. The Impact of Covid-19 on the Work Practices of Teaching and Administrative Staff in Public Universities in Ghana: A Qualitative Case Study

The outbreak of COVID-19 revealed the unpreparedness of many people and institutions to deal with crisis situation. The pandemic has brought about changes in the operations of both teaching and non-teaching personnel in institutions. The objective of this study was to explore the aftermath impact and challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the work of faculty members and administrators in a public university context. Employing a holistic case study design using a qualitative research approach, the study recruited 54 senior members (teaching and non-teaching) from five colleges, 18 Faculties/schools, and nine directorates senior members using a multi-stage selection techniques. The study found key challenges of administrative staff due to the pandemic to include staff unreceptiveness, role ambiguity, supervision issues, lesson plan and delivery issues, assessment issues, poor trainee disposition, trainee unpreparedness, among others. Participants also intimated that the pandemic has resulted in shifts to remote learning, requiring administrative support in the provision of Information communication Technology (ICT) services to ensure students’ access to the necessary technology, among others. A majority further mentioned measures such as strengthening institutional alert and response capacities through the creation of pandemic task forces, diversifying university academic programmes to attract massive student enrolments support, institutionalizing the use of blended learning modes among others to mitigate the adverse effects of future pandemics. These measures, according to the interviewees have been effective especially because they have resulted in flexible work and learning, which helps to improve institutional productivity and the finances of the university in the face of dwindling government subventions. The study concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about many challenges for teaching and administrative work in public universities and so these universities have to put in place effective measures to mitigate the adverse effects of future pandemics.

ANALISIS KINERJA PROTOKOL ROUTING DINAMIS IS-IS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PERFORMANSI JARINGAN HYBRID KAMPUS UNUD DENPASAR

As a center for Information and Communication Technology services, the Global Distance Learning Network (GDLN) of Udayana University must reconsider the implementation of static routing protocols that have been applied to meet the increasing demands of computer networks. Dynamic routing protocols, such as Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS), can be used to address the challenges currently faced with static routing, and serve as a more viable option for larger network requirements. This research evaluates the implementation of static routing protocols and IS-IS at the UNUD Denpasar campus using Graphical Network Simulator-3 to assess the future utilization of the IS-IS routing protocol. Quality of Service (QoS) parameters are used to assess network performance, while the scenarios include PING intervals with settings close to streaming YouTube videos. The research findings reveal that both routing protocols exhibit good service quality, meeting TIPHON criteria with excellent evaluations for packet loss, throughput, and delay, in addition to satisfactory criteria for jitter. Simulation tests demonstrate the superiority of the IS-IS routing protocol compared to static routing when transmitting data in high-resolution streaming video formats like 480p, 720p, and 1080p. On the other hand, static routing is more suitable for disseminating data consisting of lower-resolution streaming videos (360p). Based on the research results, it can be inferred that the dynamic routing protocol IS-IS is more suitable for meeting network demands on a larger scale.

Indian-African Cooperation in Science and Technologies

At the present time, when technology “rules the world”, it is important for Africa to master scientific and technological progress, to make a “leap” in the development of science and technology, which will contribute to economic recovery, employment growth, and income growth. The article summarizes and analyzes information about the places that India and African countries hold in the global ranking of innovative economies. India, as one of the leaders in the export of information and communication technology services, possessing advanced science and technology clusters, ranked 40th, according to the Global Innovation Index (GII) for 2022. Of the African countries, only Mauritius (45th place) made it into the top 50, while the top 100 also included South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, Botswana, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Namibia, Senegal. According to the World Bank, research and development spending (% of GDP) in Africa varies greatly. For the period from 2015 to 2020, the minimum value of this indicator was noted in Mauritania 0.01%, and the maximum in Egypt – 0.96%. At the same time, Rwanda, Tunisia, South Africa, and Mauritius demonstrate the highest values among African countries, along with Egypt. In terms of the number of articles in scientific and technical journals, China and the USA lead the world, followed by India. Among African countries, the leaders are Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria. As a result of the study, the author comes to the conclusion that India has made a significant contribution to cooperation with African countries in the field of scientific and technological progress. Since 1964, the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program has been operating, a program for providing developing countries with technical assistance and assistance in training specialists. In 2009, the Pan-African E-Network Project was launched to bridge the digital divide in Africa. India has established IT centers in South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Lesotho, Ghana, Namibia and Tanzania; CGARD Technology Center in Madagascar; vocational training centers in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Zimbabwe and Egypt. Thus, India and Africa are cooperating in the field of education, science, medicine, digital technologies, agriculture, development of alternative energy sources. At the same time, it is necessary to more actively expand cooperation between India and Africa in the field of innovation and technology, which will undoubtedly be beneficial for both parties and serve the interests of the Indian and African peoples.

Analysis of the evolution characteristics of international ICT services trade based on complex network

Digital technology has brought profound changes in the services trade, particularly accelerating the growth of the international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services trade. Understanding the evolving characteristics of the ICT services trade is pivotal for trade participants to formulate effective policies and enhance their competitive advantages. This study used the data from UN COMTRADE to construct ICT services trade networks spanning from 2004 to 2020. Using complex network analysis methods, it delved into several aspects of ICT services trade, including trade patterns, trade relationships, and participating countries. The findings revealed that central countries in ICT services trade are progressively dominating trade relationships. Moreover, many countries in the middle and lower tiers of the ICT services trade system tend to engage in bilateral trade with major economies or form trade alliances with a select few nations. Examining the evolution of trade participants, early adopter countries such as the United States, Ireland, and the United Kingdom have solidified stable competitive advantages in ICT services trade. Building upon these findings, the study puts forth several recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of the ICT services trade. This study not only enriches the existing knowledge base on ICT services trade networks but also provides valuable insights for shaping policies in this domain. The outcomes offer crucial guidance for interpreting cooperation and conflicts within the realm of ICT services trade.

Selection Of Alternative Scenarios For The Development Of Indonesia's Sea Cable Communication System (SKKL) In The Metaverse Era (Pt Xyz Case Study)

PT XYZ is a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) engaged in information and communication technology (ICT) services and telecommunications networks in Indonesia. The projection of increasing internet needs makes the need for internet bandwidth even greater. The sea cable communication system (SKKL) available today is predicted to no longer be able to accommodate bandwidth needs, especially the internet, for the next few years. In addition, PT XYZ must also be able to anticipate serving the Metaverse. This study aims to determine alternative scenarios and the feasibility of building Indonesia's sea cable communication system (SKKL) in the metaverse era. This study discusses the selection of the best scenario from 4 scenarios with the discounted cash flow method and considers the EUAC of each scenario. The aspects to be studied are market aspects, technical aspects, and financial aspects. Market aspect data is obtained from the company's historical data, and demand forecasting is carried out using the linear regression method. The technical aspect is carried out by determining the business process, the scenario to be used, labour, as well as the details of investment costs. The financial aspect is done by calculating estimated revenue, income statement, and cash flow. Based on the results of the feasibility calculation, the NPV value was Rp.32,337,102,145,226, PBP of 3.2 years, and IRR of 44.43% with MARR of 14.8%. Channel Performance Analysis of Visible Light Communication Technology in the Internet of Vehicles

The emergence of visible light communication technology has alleviated the pressure of wireless network communication and provided new ways for vehicle networking technology. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the performance changes in visible light communication in vehicle networking communication. This article mainly considers the impact of vehicle speed on the quality of visible light communication technology services during the driving duration. Firstly, the impact of vehicle speed on signal-to-noise ratio changes was analyzed. Secondly, the channel states in different V2I/V2V scenarios were analyzed. Finally, the transformation in signal-to-noise ratio in V2I/V2V scenarios was analyzed through simulation.

International tourism development in the digital economy era: the role of ICT services and digital finance

PurposeThis paper aims to investigate how information and communication technology (ICT) services and digital finance affect the development of international tourism.Design/methodology/approachThe two-way fixed effect panel regression model, spatial econometric model, panel threshold regression model and panel quantile regression model are used. Data on tourism, economic and social development in 198 Chinese cities from 2011 to 2020 are analyzed.FindingsThis study finds that digital economy including ICT services and digital finance has significantly promoted the development of international tourism industry, while there is a negative spatial spillover effect. The promotion effect of international tourism increases significantly after digital innovation reaches the threshold value. International tourism is benefiting more from digital economy with the development of international tourism industry.Research limitations/implicationsThe development quality of international tourism industry has not been analyzed due to data limitations, and the mechanism has not been tested.Originality/valueThis study creatively reveals the development of international tourism industry in the digital economy era from ICT services and digital finance perspectives. This study also shows the spatial, nonlinear and asymmetric relationship between digital economy and international tourism.

Empirical Investigation into ICT Services Evaluation Within a Public Institution

The aim of the paper is to investigate the quality of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services provided to employees in a public administration organization. The Region of Central Macedonia (RCM) was chosen as the examined enterprise/organization. The provider of these services is exclusively the Department for Transparency and eGovernment (DTeG). After a presentation of the theory behind service quality measurement in general and in ICTs specifically, a quantitative research was carried out, utilizing a SERVPERF-derived, ICT-adapted, short form 13-item/4-dimension instrument approach. This research indicated that RCM employees value both the quality of the ICT services, as well as the satisfaction from them, as provided by DTeG, highly. The adapted SERVPERF instrument exhibited high internal consistency values, as well as strong correlation between its items and the overall perceived quality and satisfaction. Dimensionality tests indicated that two dimensions of the service quality constructs are measured: a combined “reliability”, “responsiveness” and “assurance” dimension and an “empathy” one. the findings can be used by the targeted organization to improve the quality of ICT services and better meet the needs of their users.

Pengaruh Kualitas Pelayanan dan Harga terhadap Kepuasan Pelanggan Produk Jasa Layanan Internet

Increasing human awareness of the importance of information and technological developments has increased human interest in using the Internet as a source of information and communication. PT X engaged in information and communication technology services and telecommunication networks. Service quality is a complex concept that involves understanding customer needs, provision of delivery, and managing customer expectations. In addition, price is an important factor in the marketing strategy of a product or service. The right price can influence consumer purchasing decisions so that it can affect sales and company profits. The purpose of this study was to determine service quality and price have a significant effect on customer satisfaction partially and to determine service quality and price have a significant effect on customer satisfaction simultaneously. The research design is a survey research using quantitative methods. The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling with a sample of 100 people. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, questionnaires, and documentation. As well as the analysis techniques carried out in this study, namely validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, and multiple linear regression test. The results of the research at a significance level of 0.000 <0.05 indicate that the first variable of service quality has a significant effect on customer satisfaction partially. Second, the price variable has a significant effect on customer satisfaction partially. Third, the variables of service quality and price have a significant effect on customer satisfaction simultaneously.

How does digital transformation affect innovation in knowledge-intensive business services firms? The moderating effect of R&D collaboration portfolio

PurposeFirms are driven to ride on the digital wave in today’s open innovation ecosystem. This study aims to explore the effect of digital transformation (DT) on knowledge-intensive business services (KIBS) firms’ innovation ambidexterity, namely, radical versus incremental innovation, respectively. Meanwhile, the authors evaluated the moderating role of the complexity of R&D collaboration portfolio (i.e. organizational diversity and geographic diversity) in the above relationships.Design/methodology/approachUsing a panel data set of 171 Chinese listed firms in the information and communications technology services industry from 2010 to 2018, the proposed hypotheses were empirically attested.FindingsIt is found that DT has a positive relationship with radical innovation and an inverted U-shaped relationship with incremental innovation. In terms of the R&D collaboration portfolio, organizational diversity positively moderates the relationships between DT and innovation ambidexterity, respectively. The geographic diversity weakens the inverted U-shaped effect of DT on incremental innovation; however, its moderating role in the link between DT and radical innovation is not empirically verified.Originality/valueExtant scholars mainly addressed the interplay between KIBS firms and their manufacturing clients, while this study reveals the different consequences of DT on KIBS firms’ innovation ambidexterity to highlight the role of KIBS firms is an independent and essential innovator in a knowledge-driven economy. Notably, the findings contribute to knowledge management (KM) and R&D literature by confirming the diversity of the R&D collaboration portfolio is a critical KM strategy for KIBS firms to develop and promote external knowledge resources.

Flexible Working Arrangements and Work-Family Culture Effects on Job Satisfaction: The Mediation Role of Work-Family Conflicts among Female Employees

Objective: This study examines the relationship between flexible working arrangements and work-family culture by the mediating role of work-family conflict on the job satisfaction of female employees. Methods: This study was conducted on 295 female workers in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) service companies. The data were collected from an online survey using a 6-Point Likert scale following a non-probability sampling method with a purposive sampling technique which was a sampling method based on specific predetermined standards. The data was analyzed using Lisrel 8.80 through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Findings: The results indicate that flexible working arrangements positively and significantly impact work-family conflict and job satisfaction. Additionally, Work-Family Culture has a negative and significant impact on Work-Family Conflict but a positive and significant impact on Job Satisfaction. Meanwhile, Work-family conflict significantly and negatively affects job satisfaction. Another finding is that the relationship between flexible working arrangements and job satisfaction and the impact of work-family culture can be partially mediated by work-family conflict. Originality/Value: Research on work-family variables tends to be mostly studied in the United States and Anglo Countries (U.K., Australia). However, research on this subject in Asia is limited, despite the fact that female employees in this region experience work-family conflicts more frequently. To fill this gap, this study was conducted in Indonesia, Southeast Asia. The findings of this research may also be relevant to other Asian countries that share similar characteristics. Practical/Policy implication: The company's human resources management should implement a family-friendly work culture (WFC) by encouraging and respecting employees' integration of work and family life to prevent and minimize conflict between work and family roles or called Work-Family Conflict (WFCON) during Flexible Working Arrangements (FWA).

How COVID-19 altered perceived household resource consumption in the United States: Results from a survey

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has led to unprecedented changes in the daily lives of people in the United States and across the world, particularly around how households consume critical resources. We fielded a survey to a national U.S. sample (n = 1214) to quantify the nature and extent of perceived change in household consumption of energy, water, information and communication technology (ICT) services, transportation, and grocery and non-grocery shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic. We find that most survey respondents report increased consumption of electricity and water, but they did not report altered heating and cooling energy consumption. Respondents reported sharp increases in work-related ICT usage for medium- and high-income respondents, and increased ICT usage for recreation and entertainment across all income categories during the pandemic. Nearly half of car-based commuters stopped commuting, with higher shares of medium- and high-income respondents shifting to working from home instead of commuting by car. Respondents shopped less frequently, spent more on both grocery and non-grocery items, and moved their shopping online—indicating that the pandemic hastened the ongoing shift to online modes of resource consumption. Low-income households and respondents of color reported different shifts in consumption in comparison to higher income households and white households. Finally, more than half of our respondents stated that their altered consumption patterns will persist post-pandemic, pointing to potential long-term shifts in consumption behaviour. These findings provide useful empirical evidence for perceived changes in household resource consumption during the pandemic, suggest that we need to better protect low-income and Black households from the effects of large-scale disruptions, and can inform more effective and equitable disaster response policies.
