It consists of four overview papers of variable quality, one paper on the chemistry of crustal brines, and 19 descriptions of individual deposits, many published for the first time. The deposit descriptions alone make this book an essential reference for all research libraries and most exploration geologists. As clearly stated in the preface by the editor, T. Michael Porter, the book focuses on a deposit type that “does not represent a single style or a common genetic model, but rather a family of loosely related ores that share...
