PENGARUH FEE AUDIT, FINANCIAL DISTRESS, KOMISARIS INDEPENDEN, DAN KOMITE AUDIT TERHADAP INTEGRITAS LAPORAN KEUANGAN

This research aims to examine the influence of audit fees, financial distress, independent commissioners and audit committees on the integrity of financial reports. Audit fees are measured using the natural logarithm of professional fees, financial distress is measured using the debt to equity ratio, independent commissioners are measured using the ratio of the number of members of the company's independent commissioners to the number of members of the company's board of commissioners, audit committees are measured using the comparison of the number of audit committees that come from from the independent committee with the number of audit committee members and the integrity of the financial reports as measured using the market to book ratio. This type of research is quantitative. Based on purposive sampling, the number of sample companies was 29 companies with an observation period of 5 years, so the total sample was 145 data on the property and real estate sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) during the 2018-2022 period. The data analysis used in this research is a panel data regression model using E-Views 12. The results of this research show that partially audit fees and audit committees have no effect on the integrity of financial reports. Financial distress and independent commissioners have a significant effect on the integrity of financial reports. Meanwhile, simultaneously audit fees, financial distress, independent commissioners and audit committees influence the integrity of financial reports. Improving the Ethics Review of Qualitative Health Research: A Comparison of Review Practices and Suggestions for Improvement by Researchers and Members of Research Ethics Committees.

Most qualitative health research is subject to ethics review and approval by a research ethics committee (REC). While many studies have identified the challenges that current ethics review practices pose to qualitative health research, there is currently a call to move the research focus from the shortcomings of ethics review practices to the possibilities for improvement. The aim of this grounded theory study was to identify possibilities for improvement of current ethics review practices which can count on endorsement from qualitative health researchers and members of REC alike. To this end, we developed interventions for improving review practices through a comparative analysis of qualitative health researchers' experiences with review practices and REC members' discussions about how their review practices operate. Data collection proceeded by means of problem-centered interviews with seven qualitative health researchers and three focus group discussions with 14 REC members in Germany. Our analysis shows two overarching dimensions in the ethics review practice related to the distribution of responsibility for ethically legitimate research and the reasons for ethical concerns about qualitative health research studies. While there was disagreement about concrete suggestions for improvement, our analysis shows that researchers and REC members pursue three shared overarching aims: increasing expertise in qualitative methods among REC members and researchers, improving communication between researchers and RECs, and tailoring ethics review procedures to qualitative health research. We conclude that researchers and REC members need to promote collaboration and collegiality to ensure ethically appropriate review practices for qualitative health research.

Meeting our students where they are: An ethics certificate program for hospital ethics committees.

To meet the specific education needs of ethics committee members (primarily full-time healthcare professionals), the Regional Ethics Department of Kaiser Permanente Northern California (KPNCAL) and Washington State University's Elson Floyd School of Medicine have partnered to create a one-academic year Medical Ethics Certificate Program. The mission-driven nature of the KPNCAL-WSU's Certificate Program was designed to be a low-cost, high-quality option for busy full-time practitioners who may not otherwise opt to pursue additional education.This article discusses the specific competency-focused methodologies and pedagogies adopted, as well as how the Certificate Program made permanent changes in response to the global pandemic. This article also discusses in detail one of the Program's signature features, its Practicum-an extensive simulated clinical ethics consultation placing students in the role of ethics consultant, facilitating a conflict between family members played by paid professional actors. This article concludes with survey data responses from Program alumni gathered as part of a quality study.

The role of sense of ownership in rural community mini-grid management: qualitative case study from Tanzania

BackgroundThe majority of mini-grids in Tanzania are managed by private entities, faith-based institutions, and the government. In contrast, a limited number of mini-grids under community management strive to survive. Although the concept of “sense of ownership” is considered crucial for mini-grid sustainability in developing countries, there is limited theoretical exploration of the factors that drive this concept and its effects on community mini-grid management. This paper assesses the relationship between the sense of ownership among electricity users and the effective management of two solar community-based mini-grids with different sustainability experience.ResultsA sense of ownership plays a role in establishing the decision-making process of mini-grids among village energy committee members toward sustainable or unsustainable management. The mechanisms behind the sense of ownership among community members toward managing mini-grids are largely expedited by the strong leadership of village energy committee members, community participation in decision-making and resource mobilisation, especially in the preparation, design and implementation phases of mini-grids.ConclusionsA sense of ownership is found to influence the effective management of community mini-grids in Tanzania. When designing mini-grid project policies and programs that target respective communities as prospective owners, energy practitioners and policy-makers should consider creating an environment that nurtures a sense of ownership.

The International Conference on Applied Mechanics, Materials Physics, and Engineering Structures will be held in Wuhan, China on July 20-21, 2024. This conference will focus on the latest research fields such as “Applied Mechanics”, “Material Physics” and “Engineering Structure”, and provide experts, professors, scholars, and engineers from domestic and foreign universities, research institutes, enterprises, and institutions with an international platform to share professional experience, face-to-face communication to showcase its latest research results, discuss key challenges and research directions for development. The conference aims to promote the development and application of theories and technologies in this field in universities and enterprises, and for participants to establish business or research, connect and find global partners for future careers. During the conference, the conference consist of three sessions, including 20 oral presentations, 4 keynote speeches, and 40 poster presentations. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given about 10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. More than 8 0 individuals attended face to face or this online conference via cloud platform for video and audio Zoom. Their insightful speeches gave our participants great inspiration. The proceedings of MMPES 2024 span over 4 topical tracks, that include: Solid and Fluid Mechanics, Computational Mechanics, Thermodynamics of Materials and Dynamics and Vibrations. Every accepted paper has undergone peer review process arranged by the Editorial Committee. At least two independent reviewers should review and approve a paper. We believe that the Proceedings will serve as an important research source to provide recent development and information related to applied physics and energy development.
