Analysing IoT Digital Education: Fostering Students’ Understanding and Digital Literacy

This study aims to develop effective strategies for enhancing the digital skills of students specialising in information technology (IT). The study’s relevance is justified by the necessity to adjust educational methods to the dynamic development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and digital technologies in general. The object of the study is students at Astana IT University who are studying IT. The experimental group (EG) trains using IoT-integrated digital educational materials (DEMs), while the control group (CG) receives traditional training. Since existing research often omits the synergy between IoT and educational methods, creating a gap in understanding the effectiveness of integrated educational resources, this study applies research methodology, including literature analysis, experimentation, and statistical data analysis. The research results are verified using statistical methods such as the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and F-test. Analysing the mean scores in the experimental and CGs helps measure students’ progress in developing digital skills. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of IoT-integrated DEMs in enhancing students’ digital skills and to provide a comprehensive understanding of the influence of these educational approaches on IoT learning. The findings will significantly improve educational programs and methodologies in the IT domain in line with current technological advancements.

Pengembangan Sistem E-learning Berbasis Web Pada Sekolah Tingi Teknologi Informatika Sony Sugema

Sony Sugema College of Information Technology is one of the educational institutions that has a data processing system, so it requires that all data can be processed properly, stored in an orderly manner and its origin can be easily traced. However, the academic system used still has shortcomings, namely not optimal course participation, management of student data, teacher data, course schedules, course allocation and the absence of an online learning system throughout the semester. Then, to overcome deficiencies in the academic system, the author aims to develop the academic system of the Sony Sugema College of Information Technology using the Waterfall software development method. Then develop a system using the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) programming language, MySQL database and bootstrap framework, as well as Visual Studio Code as a coding tool. By creating this information system, it is hoped that it can help schools in managing learning data. The final result of this research is a web-based E-learning system that can optimize attendance information services, manage student data, lecturer data, lecture schedules, course classification, course division, and online learning systems during the semester period.

The Rationality of Search Theory Framework in Late and No MarriageFindings and Discussion Based on the Survey of Marriage Attitudes of College Students in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai

In recent years, China's marriage model has a tendency to converge with the European marriage model, and the tendency of young people to get married late and not to get married has become obvious. College students are the main body of China's marriage behavior in the next ten years, and college students in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai have certain regional characteristics and unique views on late marriage and non-marriage, which are worth studying and exploring. This study will utilize the search theory, the theory as an economic concept in marriage has a certain reference, but the previous research has not been "Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai" This region of the youth of late marriage, non-marriage point of view of systematic research, and in the era of information technology college students thinking changes fast update, the previous research has a certain lag. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the rationality of the search theory in explaining the problem of late marriage and non-marriage among college students in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, and to try to make discoveries. Through in-depth interviews, this study concludes that the search theory is reasonable in explaining the situation of late marriage and non-marriage among college students in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, and based on this, it is found that college students in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai have a fixed-sample search behavior in the search process.

Level of Compliance with the University Policies on Appearance and Discipline among College Students of the University of Cebu-Main Campus

School discipline is vital to helping students achieve solid academic gains. Effective school discipline practices help students make wise decisions and focus on their studies. School discipline refers to rules and strategies to manage student behavior and practices to encourage self-discipline. Along with education, students must adequately learn discipline in school because, with discipline and good values, the holistic development of the students will be protected. This study determined the students’ level of compliance with the University policies on students' appearance and discipline to provide an empirical basis for improving the discipline management system currently used by the University. The study utilized the descriptive-survey method of research using a researcher-made survey questionnaire based on the students' manual. The research study was participated by 1,390 respondents who were randomly selected first-year to fourth-year college students from the College of Teacher Education, College of Social Work, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Criminal Justice, College of Customs Administration, College of Business and Accountancy, College of Information Technology and Computer Studies and College of Hospitality Management. Furthermore, based on the study's findings, most students fully comply with the university policies on students' appearance and discipline. Furthermore, there is no significant difference in age, gender, or the college they are enrolled in about students' compliance with school policies.

Exploring the application of college student role models in service-learning pedagogy

PurposeService-learning (SL) is a widely accepted pedagogy that can enrich the learning experience for students in higher education while they apply their skills in a meaningful community service. This research is part of a larger project that aimed to motivate educational achievement among youths living in a priority neighborhood through SL. Toward this goal, this study investigated the impact of SL on the college students from a college information technology programmer-analyst (ITPA) program, who were deployed as role models to youths in a priority neighborhood on the east coast of Canada.Design/methodology/approachThe overall project used the design-based methodology. Seven college students were deployed in two phases to a community center as role models for the delivery of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (or STEAM) programs to youths living in a priority neighborhood. Data were collected using open-ended survey, journal entries and focus groups and was qualitatively analyzed by drawing on two frameworks: the experiential-learning framework by Kolb (1984) and the conceptual SL framework by Ash and Clayton (2009).FindingsThe findings describe the outcome of the college students' experiences in SL with respect to the development of skills and capacities needed by employers. Specifically, their experiences mirrored all aspects of the two frameworks applied. Therefore, the study validates the use of SL pedagogy in higher education. In addition, the study identified the role of SL as an integration strategy for international students. While the research contributes to the wider SL conversation for policymakers, faculty and administrators of higher education, it also promotes development opportunities for college students.Originality/valueThe integration of SL pedagogy is widespread among programs in higher education. However, there are no common SL frameworks used in literature. The study is novel in that it combines two theoretical frameworks – Kolb (1984) and Ash and Clayton (2009) in explaining the outcomes. In addition, it uses two high-impact educational practices – SL and role modeling to improve educational attainment for college students.

How Screen Readers Impact the Academic Works of College and Graduate Students with Visual Impairments

This study explored the effectiveness of screen readers on the academic life of higher education students with visual impairments, including reading, writing, access to the internet, exams, and general information for their courses. This study was designed as a qualitative study and applied a phenomenological approach in order to discuss the experiences of higher education students who use screen readers as assistive technology. One college student and six graduate students with visual impairments were interviewed in the United States. The findings revealed that higher education students with visual impairments benefitted from screen readers; however, they also noted some limitations: difficulties in accessing printed classroom materials, inaccessible digital content, and time lost due to technical issues. Students with visual impairments should be offered accessible documents such as electronic versions of classroom materials, accessible PDFs and websites, and software compatible with JAWS. Universities should provide accessibility training for lecturers who want to better serve students with visual impairments. University information technology services need to train their technical services staff about screen readers to provide 24/7 professional services for students with visual impairments.

Analisis Kinerja Tata Kelola Teknologi Informasi Menggunakan Framework Cobit 2019 Pada Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi

An educational institution, Muhammadiyah Jambi University has integrated IT into its operational processes. Muhammadiyah Jambi University's information technology has not adjusted its governance system to achieve the greatest possible benefits from IT use and to keep advancing corporate IT governance. Consequently, in order to ensure that the corporate IT governance system at Muhammadiyah University Jambi is in line with business objectives, an IT governance plan is required. IT governance is an important asset for measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of improving a company's business processes using information technology. This study explains the way of a company can create specialized governance solutions for corporate information technology (IT) by analyzing IT governance performance using Cobit 2019 framework. The aim of this research is to analyze the performance of a system properly and provide recommendations for improving information technology governance at Muhammadiyah University Jambi. The methods are both qualitative by conducting observations, interviews, and taking work documents and quantitative methods by filling out questionnaires in 2019 Cobit design tool. The results of this research show several important processes that must be a top priority in the company, namely BAI06 (Managed IT Changes), DSS01 (Managed Operations), BAI07 (Managed IT Change Acceptance and Transitioning), BAI03 (Managed Solutions Identification & Build), DSS02 (Managed Service Requests & Incidents).

Assessing Study Skill Needs for Information Technology and Computer Science Students in Technical and Vocational Universities

Not a great deal is known about what study skills are essential for success in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics' disciplines, particularly in information technology (IT) and computer science (CS) programs in the technical and vocational education (TVE) in Taiwanese higher education. Since TVE accounts for more than half of the post-secondary enrolments in the country, and with the increasing demand for IT and CS talents, we studied perceptions of the importance and competency of such skills to identify the students’ needs and demographic factors influencing them. A survey was administered to 1398 students in IT and CS programs in Taiwanese TVE universities. General skills were seen as the most important one among the study skills examined, and students felt competent using them. The needs to manage time, perform quantitative/mathematical tasks, and delegate were identified and these needs were affected by institutional quality, gender, and academic achievement. The results might be useful for further investigation in this area and guiding future plan to improve student performance in TVE.

Development of a Curriculum Management System for a State University in the Philippines

Curriculum development is a key to delivering quality education in a university’s offered programs. Bulacan State University (BulSU)’s College of Information Technology (CICT) is known for producing globally competitive graduates in the Philippines. With its program offerings that advance from time to time, CICT shall continue to review, enhance, and revise its curricula to address the rapidly changing needs of the nation and the expected population it serves. The study utilized descriptive developmental methodology. This study focused on the digitization of the curriculum development process at CICT, allowing stakeholders, such as faculty members, students, industry, and academic partners, to review the college’s curriculum for the coming years. The system was found acceptable by its intended users and will soon improve the curriculum development process at the college upon implementation.

Students’ satisfaction with the service quality of academic advising systems

Academic advising (AA) is an integral part of university education, as it has an indispensable role in helping students fulfil their goals in higher education, become responsible for their own learning, and formulate meaningful educational plans that perfectly match the abilities of each student. For this reason, educational institutions around the world are striving to upgrade their AA systems (AAS) to provide their students with personalized experiences. Meanwhile, modern technology can improve the advising process and facilitate the accomplishment of the corresponding tasks. Therefore, the integration of technology into AA not only offers more flexibility for the students but also improves the delivery of advising services. This study aimed i) to identify those factors that mainly affect the AAS services being offered in universities; and ii) to examine how the satisfaction of students with AAS is affected by service quality. A total of 400 students from the Information Technology College of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (AHU) were invited to participate in an online survey for data collection, and a response rate of 90.50% was recorded. Results show that the satisfaction of students with the AAS is affected by trust, network quality, service quality, system quality, information quality, and perceived risk.

The Design and Implementation of Practical Teaching in Packaging Design Course based on the Perspective of Curriculum Civics

With the rapid development of economic globalization and information technology, education and teaching in colleges and universities are facing more and more challenges and opportunities. In such a background, how to focus on the cultivation of students' values and the improvement of their innovation ability has become an important direction and goal for the reform and development of college education and teaching. As an interdisciplinary and comprehensive course, packaging design has a wide range of application value and social significance. However, packaging design not only needs to focus on aesthetic and functional considerations but also needs to pay attention to the cultivation of social responsibility and values, as well as the improvement of students' innovation ability and creativity. Therefore, how to design and implement the curriculum of packaging design based on the perspective of curriculum thinking and politics has become an important issue in the reform of university education and teaching. Through the discussion of several aspects, this paper aims to provide reference and inspiration for college education and teaching and promote the improvement and enhancement of the packaging design curriculum.

The 4th International Conference on Electronics and Communication Technologies (ICECT 2022) was held in Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan, during September 16-18, 2022. It’s co-sponsored by Nagoya University, Nagoya Institute of Technology, hosted by Nagoya University Information Technology Center, technical supported by University of Macedonia, Greece, Science and Engineering Institute, USA. As a global event, ICECT main focus on electronics communication technologies. Over the last three years, the conference successfully held in Nagoya (2019), and held online (2020-2021) for Covid 19.The three-day conference provided a forum for discussion of electronics communication technologies and address the unique challenges of these fields. Submitted papers were received and sent for preliminary and peer review conducted by the technical committees. Professional comments are given according to the aspects of originality, innovation, applicability, technical merit, organizing and writing, relevance to conference. After several rounds of review procedure, 18 excellent papers have been received to get published in the conference proceedings. On the Informationization Development of University Education Management

With the development of information technology, it is also very necessary for the construction of university management information technology. Behavior Recognition of College Students Based on Improved Deep Learning Algorithm

With the vigorous development of intelligent campus construction, great changes have taken place in the development of information technology in colleges and universities from the previous digital to intelligent development. In the teaching process, the analysis of students' classroom learning has also changed from the previous manual observation to intelligent analysis. Based on this, this paper studies the behavior recognition of college students based on the improved deep learning algorithm. Based on a brief analysis of the research background of behavior recognition, the research framework of college students' behavior recognition is constructed. Finally, the authors designed an experiment to evaluate the accuracy of classroom student behavior recognition analysis. The results show that the improved recognition of college students' behavior based on deep learning algorithm can improve the recognition accuracy.

Mathematical Communication skills through E-Learning Platforms: Covid19 affect

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the availability of mathematical communication skills through e-learning platforms: the effect of Corona pandemic.
 Methods: A descriptive approach was used. A questionnaire for mathematical communication skills was constructed, consisting of (37) items. A sample of the students of Hashemite University consisted of (1492) male and female students.
 Results: The results showed that the availability level of mathematical communication skills through electronic platforms in the educational learning process, in general, is high, and there is a statistically significant difference in All skills of mathematical communication according to the variable of the college, in favor of members of the study sample students from the College of Information Technology when compared to their peers in the College of Educational Sciences. There is a statistically significant difference in skills (speaking, listening) in favor of the study sample students from the College of Engineering when compared to their peers in the College of Educational Sciences. the results showed statistically significant differences between the arithmetic averages of the responses of the study sample students about the effectiveness of electronic platforms in the educational and learning science under the current circumstances (Corona crisis) considering all mathematical communication skills, attributed to the gender variable and for the benefit of males.
 Conclusions: In light of the study results, it is recommended to work on training students and staff faculties for the optimal use of e-learning platforms, and to develop specialized training programs to design interactive e-learning environments that help activate mathematical communication skills.

ПРОБЛЕМЫ ОСВОЕНИЯ ИНФОРМАЦИОННЫХ ТЕХНОЛОГИЙ ПРИ ПОДГОТОВКЕ СПЕЦИАЛИСТОВ АВИАЦИОННОЙ ПРОМЫШЛЕННОСТИ

The work is devoted to the analysis of actual problems arising during the mastering modern and promising information technologies in universities by future certified specialists of the aviation industry in the avionics system. This work notes the main negative consequences of such problems, which seriously complicate the independent practical activities of graduates of higher education in the field of information technology and in the sphere of software development. The work attempts to identify the most significant factors that lead to the emergence of these problems. Various aspects of the adverse influence of the identified factors on the process of training specialists and practical possibilities to compensate for the influence of these factors are considered in the material. The relevant recommendations are also given in this work. They can be used in the construction of curricula and in the formation of programs of disciplines of the information technology cycle.

The Influence of Covid -19 on Human Resources Management at Marymount Teachers College in Mutare

The qualitative study was carried out to investigate the role of Covid-19 on human resources management at Marymount Teachers College. A sample twenty purposively selected participants which comprised senior management, human resources officers and staff members was studied. Data was collected through interviewing and was analysed thematically. The study established that high student enrolments militated against effective service delivery at the college especially during execution of preventive measures like social distancing. The data also shows that college information technology has improved business processes at the institution studied. The institution studied did not provide monetary incentives to lure its workers to report for work during Covid 19 period outside the usual teas and lunches and there were many roadblocks and check points from different locations from which the workers came. The study recommends that colleges need to be capacitated through online or remote working through ICT infrastructure upgrading. There is also need to reduce the staff and student populations to greatly mitigate overcrowding during epidemic periods; collaboration among public health professionals, including infectious disease specialists, epidemiologists, social workers, community health workers, and health experts is crucial.

Faculty’s Access to Information and Communication Technologies in Colleges and Universities in Central Visayas, Philippines

Information and communications technology (ICT) is a useful tool in the modern world, becoming indispensable, particularly in the educational setting. With this, the researchers looked into the ICT access of the faculty in colleges and universities in Central Visayas, Philippines. This access was measured through Faculty’s ICT Access (FICTA), administered through online surveys. Study findings revealed that faculty had physical access to ICT, evidenced by their acquisition of laptop computers, smartphones, Internet connections, and office suite software. Moreover, teachers were highly motivated to use ICT and highly skilled to operate, search, and strategize online. They also had high usage of ICT in their general and instructional work. Furthermore, motivation, skills, and usage access were significantly associated with one another. In conclusion, teachers have access to ICT which made their teaching better. Better digital infrastructure, more capability training, and encouraged utilization of ICT are recommended at the higher educational level in the country.
