Enhancing quality in online surveys: uncovering foundational themes and strategies

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the foundational themes and strategies to enhance response quality in online surveys. Method: The term "online survey" and its variations were employed as broad keywords for the article selection process to identify methodological and empirical articles about online survey quality. The selected database was characterized using bibliometric techniques, the foundational themes were identified through co-citation analysis, and recommended strategies were determined using bibliographic coupling analysis. Findings: The foundational themes in online survey literature encompass Device, Mode of Administration, Question Design, Careless Responses, Response Rate, Paradata, Statistical Adjustment, Incentives, and Household Survey. Device and Mode of Administration emphasize the description and comparison of online collection methods with traditional approaches and explore the use of different devices. The remaining themes investigate strategies aimed at enhancing online survey response, focusing on specific strategies, quality indicators, or participant behaviors. Originality/Value: This study serves as a valuable guideline for survey researchers. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first review using co-citation analysis to identify the main strategies for improving response quality in online survey research. Theoretical/Methodological contributions: This research contributes across many disciplines by uncovering the main strategies to improve response quality in online survey research and providing guidance for survey researchers. Social/Managerial contributions: By highlighting the importance of survey protocols and the potential biases and errors associated with unplanned research, the findings offer practical insights for social and managerial contexts.

Ozone therapy for knee osteoarthritis: a literature visualization analysis of research hotspots and prospects.

Medical ozone is a molecule composed of three oxygen atoms with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antioxidant functions. Ozone therapy (O3 or O2- O3) for knee osteoarthritis has gradually received increasing attention from researchers in recent years. Here, we discuss the research hotspots and development trends of ozone therapy for knee osteoarthritis through literature visualization and analysis. (1) From 2012 to the present, the overall trend of publications on ozone treatment for knee osteoarthritis has been increasing annually, and it has received widespread attention, especially in Iran and China. (2) Keyword analysis revealed that the keywords with the greatest number of citations for ozone treatment of knee osteoarthritis are "osteoarthritis," "ozone," "knee osteoarthritis," "ozone therapy," and "hyaluronic acid." (3) The results of the cocitation analysis revealed that the themes of the cocited literature are concentrated in 11 directions: intra-articular injections, intra-articular oxygen ozone, treatment of knee osteoarthritis, rehabilitation studies, time effects, pain function, comprehensive review, growth factors, rheumatic diseases, ultrasound-guided corticosteroid injections, and placebo. (4) The hotspots of the available highly cited literature have focused mainly on the efficacy and safety of ozone or growth factors alone in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Most of the literature suggests that intra-articular injections are the most common form of ozone therapy, and the accuracy and safety of ozone injections can be ensured using ultrasound-guided techniques. Ozone therapy has a positive short-term effect on pain control and functional recovery within 6 months after injection, but how to maintain the long-term efficacy of ozone therapy has rarely been described. It is hypothesized that the combination of ozone and growth factors may be beneficial for prolonging the efficacy of ozone therapy. (5) Ozone therapy has no advantages over other therapies in terms of therapeutic efficacy. Compared with ozone therapy, platelet-rich plasma and growth factor-rich plasma have better long-term outcomes in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, whereas stromal vascular components have the best effects on pain relief and functional improvement. Few studies address the combination of ozone and growth factors for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, and a few clinical studies registered have explored other treatments (e.g., corticosteroids). (6) Future studies could further explore the specific mechanisms and optimal dosing regimens of ozone combined with different growth factors in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis to compensate for the short-term efficacy of ozone therapy and to validate the long-term efficacy and safety of this combination therapy. It is also imperative to develop international guidelines for ozone therapy for osteoarthritis of the knee as soon as possible.

A bibliometric analysis of computational thinking skills: definition, components and assessment tools

This paper provides an in-depth analysis of computational thinking (CT) skills and their assessment. It discusses the definition and components of CT. Various assessment tools, such as surveys, exams, self-assessment instruments, and performance tests, are explored. A bibliometric analysis reveals a growing trend in publications related to CT skills since 1993. The study employs citation analysis, co-citation analysis, and co-keyword analysis, identifying clusters of related work and emphasizing the core ideas of CT skills, their components, and their assessment. The findings highlight the intellectual synergy between publications, particularly the strong conceptual and thematic links between works that often cite each other. The discussion underscores the importance of CT components like abstraction, decomposition, and algorithms, as foundational elements across disciplines, particularly in education and computer science. Additionally, the integration of CT into educational curricula, such as robotics, programming, and STEM, demonstrates its growing significance. The conclusion identifies several gaps in the current understanding of CT, particularly the need for a standardized, widely accepted definition that encompasses all aspects of CT. It also emphasizes the limited focus on the assessment of CT skills and calls for the development of validated and reliable assessment tools. Furthermore, the paper highlights the need for more research on the impact of teacher training programs on CT development, to ensure effective integration at the school level.

Bibliometric Analysis on Earthen Building: Approaches from the Scientific Literature and Future Trends

This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the earthen architecture and construction scientific literature production at present, analysing the historical evolution, research patterns and trends and the investigation of the different existing earthen building technologies. Utilising the SCOPUS database, this study analysed 3804 documents published between 1968 and 2023, with an annual growth of 16.92% since the year 2001. Key findings include the identification of top authors, institutions and collaborative networks, the co-citation analysis and the main keyword analysis and classification into different clusters. Regarding the building technologies, the results indicate a prevalence of research on vernacular earthen building techniques, mainly rammed earth and adobe masonry. Nevertheless, a growing interest in innovative methods using earth-based materials can be spotted. The bibliometric analysis identifies the development of the academic interest and emphasises the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the need for international recognition of earthen buildings. Future research should continue to explore the environmental benefits of using earthen materials, the development of earthen building techniques and systems in modern industry and the preservation of the architectural heritage and vernacular knowledge of contemporary technology.

35 years of fraction learning: Integrating systematic review and bibliometric analysis on a global scale

Fraction learning is a fundamental yet challenging component of mathematical education, critical to students’ broader mathematical development. This study presents a comprehensive review of fraction learning research spanning the years 1989 to 2024, integrating a systematic literature review with bibliometric analysis to explore the evolution, trends and gaps in this domain. Utilizing data from the Web of Science database, we reviewed 725 articles, identifying key themes through co-citation analysis and categorizing the literature into three primary clusters: cognitive and conceptual understanding of fractions, developmental and educational aspects of fraction learning and teacher knowledge and its impact on mathematics teaching. Our findings reveal a shift from early research focused on conceptual foundations to more recent studies emphasizing educational interventions and teacher preparation. The analysis also highlights significant geographical imbalances, with most research originating from Western countries, particularly the USA. Despite advancements, critical gaps remain, particularly concerning the long-term retention of fraction knowledge and the effectiveness of adaptive learning strategies. This study underscores the importance of a multifaceted approach to improving fraction learning outcomes and calls for future research that addresses these gaps, particularly in diverse educational contexts. The findings provide valuable insights for educators, policymakers and researchers, guiding future efforts to enhance fraction education globally.

Comments on "Extraction, purification, characteristics, bioactivities, prospects, and toxicity of Lilium spp. polysaccharides by Li et al. (2024) in Int. J. Biol. Macromol."

Lilium spp. polysaccharides (LSPs) are gaining significant attention for their diverse health benefits, including antioxidant, antitumor, and antibacterial properties. This paper critically analyzes a recent comprehensive review by Li et al., published in International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, focusing on LSP extraction, purification, and health benefits. While the original review offers valuable insights, this critique identifies opportunities to strengthen the bibliometric analysis section. This study employs a comprehensive search strategy in Scopus using specific keywords and covering a broader time frame (1975-2023), revealing 94 research articles on LSPs. The critique proposes improvements to enhance transparency and impact, such as specifying search queries and Boolean operators used across databases, detailing selection criteria, and incorporating advanced analyses. This article discusses author keyword analysis, co-citation analysis of cited authors, and bibliographic coupling analysis of documents using VOSviewer software. The global landscape mapping of LSP relationships involving authors, countries, and keywords was determined using RStudio software. These refinements will provide a more robust foundation for understanding the LSP research landscape and future research directions while also addressing common pitfalls and suggesting improvements in bibliometric analysis for future studies.

AI-Driven Transformations in Higher Education: A Citation and Co-citation Analysis

Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in the educational field can revolutionize teaching and learning outcomes, increase research capacity, and expedite administrative processes. The application of AI-powered virtual learning aids, customized learning platforms, and intelligent educational platforms, can boost the engagement of students, offer real-time feedback and support, and aid customized learning. Additionally, AI-based administrative systems may automate repetitive processes like financial aid processing, enrolment, and admissions, freeing up important resources for more strategic endeavors. Thus, this study aims to synthesize the literature exploring AI’s impact on higher education through citation and co-citation analysis. Data from the Scopus database from 2015 to 2024 yielded 1140 papers. The data was analyzed using Biblioshiny and Vosviwer software to determine the publishing pattern, the most cited papers, the most prolific writers, sources, nations, and the network of co-citations between authors and references. The findings reveal a sharp and rapid growth (79.24%) in this industry, suggesting a significant spike in interest. In terms of overall citations, the UK became one of the top countries (1689). The author "Tan S" obtained the most citations (1869) with 10 publications, whereas "Kerr S" and "Poenici Sad" produced just one article and had the highest average citation (588). "Research And Practice in Technology-Enhanced Learning" and "Journal of Applied Learning and Teaching" were the most influential journals in terms of average and total citations, respectively. The uniqueness of the study is that it assesses the literature on AI's impacts in the fields of business and management as well as social science using citation and co-citation analysis. The outcomes of the study will have substantial implications that can help professionals, researchers, and decision-makers create policies.

VISUALISING TRENDS AND PATTERNS OF THREE DECADES OF RESEARCH ON MILLET PRODUCTION IN INDIA: A SCIENTOMETRICS ANALYSIS

This study analyses three decades of Millet Production research in India (1989-2023) with a Scientometrics approach, visualizing trends and patterns in scholarly output. India is the worlds largest producer of millet, with significant regional variations in millet cultivation. Major contributing states include Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. Scientometrics analysis, carried out on the Web of Science database using VOSviewer software, produced 600 publications with 12,028 citations. Development of millet research was found to be consistent with specific growth beginning after 2012, peaking during the International Year of Millets, 2023. Visualization of collaborative networks indicated the core institutions to be ICRISAT and ICAR. Prominent authors including Kumar A and Kumar S, and journals such as the Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences are also featured in the Table. Keyword analysis showed that the research focus was on pearl millet, which primarily connects to agricultureand nourishment. Co-authorship and co-citation analyses underscore a robust collaborative environment in terms of research spanning several disciplines, concerning agronomy, biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture. This research focuses on the millet production research arena concerning food security, sustainable agricultural practices, and environmental challenges.

A systematic review and conceptual framework of supply chain agility as a strategic enabler of firm competitiveness

Purpose: This study aims to explore supply chain agility as a strategic facilitator of firm competitiveness by critically analyzing existing literature and proposing a research agenda based on a conceptual framework. Methodology: A systematic literature review and co-citation analysis were conducted, examining 22 research papers from 1999 to 2024 sourced from reputable academic journals. Results: The study identifies key dimensions of supply chain agility, including responsiveness, flexibility, visibility, competency, resilience, and adaptability. It categorizes existing literature into modeling enablers, adoption, implementation, and agility measurement for enhancing competitiveness. A contemporary structure and framework for supply chain agility is presented. Theoretical contribution: The paper provides a comprehensive review of fundamental concepts related to supply chain agility and competitiveness, offering a conceptual framework that enhances the understanding of agile capabilities in both public and private sectors. Practical implications: The findings offer insights for supply chain managers on maintaining competitiveness in volatile markets, providing knowledge on adopting, implementing, and measuring agility throughout the supply chain. Visualizing Language and Aging From 2013-2022

Abstract Declining cognitive abilities can be a concomitant of advanced age. As language is closely associated with cognitive abilities, changes in language abilities can be an important marker of changes in cognitive abilities. The current study is to review cognitive studies of language and aging by first identifying and exploring the major clusters and pivotal articles and then detecting emerging trends. Data of 3, 266 articles on language and aging from 2013 to 2022 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Adopting Document Co-citation Analysis, Freeman’s betweenness centrality metric (Freeman, 2002) and Kleinberg’s burst detection algorithm (Kleinberg, 2002), we explored major clusters, pivotal articles and emerging trends in this field. Cognition appears to be the most remarkable cluster. Bilingualism, speech production, listening effort, and reading comprehension are other major active clusters in a certain period. The most recent active cluster concerns the studies of Alzheimer’s disease. Articles serving as pivotal points concentrate on cognitive studies of the Framework for Understanding Effortful Listening (FUEL), the new Ease of Language Understanding model (EUL) and a hierarchical multi-representational generative framework of language comprehension. The progress in statistical methods, the relationship between language and cognitive impairment and the relationship between language abilities and cognition are the emerging trends. These emerging trends will provide some insights into how cognitive abilities influence language abilities in aging.

Visualizing Aphasia in Linguistics From 2000 to 2019

Abstract This paper aims to visualize the research of aphasia from a linguistic perspective for the two decades from 2000 to 2019, identifying the changes in research focus and the future emerging trends of aphasia studies in linguistics. Applying the bibliometric approach, the present study reviewed 3,004 publications with the topic word “aphasia” in the framework of linguistics. The dataset was created from the Web of Science database ranging from 2000 to 2019. Using the CiteSpace tool, document co-citation analysis, betweenness centrality (BC) measurement and citation burst detection were conducted to explore and determine the thematic patterns, critical studies, and emerging trends of this knowledge domain. Twelve thematic patterns in these two decades were identified, indicating that researchers have focused on language impairment in aphasia, aphasia therapy and other topics associated with aphasia. Meanwhile, papers with high BC reveal the connections among different research clusters. In addition, bursts of detected citations demonstrate that treatment aiming at the enhanced quality of daily life, the utilization of discourse tasks and treatments at the discourse level, deeper exploration of primary progressive aphasia in terms of clinical data and the application of working memory assessment, and the role of working memory (WM) training in rehabilitation will possibly attract more attention in the future. On the basis of the cluster landscape, BC and citation bursts, the review found that scholars paid extensive attention to the alleviation of communication deficits in the linguistic exploration of aphasia.

A bibliometric analysis of mental health among high school students.

In recent years, with the increase in academic pressure and changes in social environment, especially after the outbreak of COVID-19, there has been a significant impact on the mental health of high school students. This trend, which is concerning, requires a systematic bibliometric analysis to develop effective preventive and remedial measures. This study aims to identify and analysis the research hotspots, frontiers and emerging trends in the field of high school students' mental health over the past two decades using CiteSpace software. These findings provide important insights that can shape future research agendas and guide targeted interventions to improve the mental health outcomes of this vulnerable group. This study utilized the Web of Science Core Collection database as its data source to retrieve literature pertaining to high school students' mental health from January 1, 2004, to January 1, 2023. The initial search yielded 1,764 relevant documents. After manually screening to exclude duplicates, conference proceedings, announcements, and irrelevant documents, a total of 1,748 relevant documents were retained. The research employed the CiteSpace 6.2.R4 tool to evaluate various bibliometric indicators of the included literature, including statistics on institutional and author publication volumes, as well as co-citation analysis. A total of 1,748 English-language documents were retrieved, showing an upward trend in publications on high school students' mental health from 2004 to 2024. The research hotspots primarily focus on COVID-19 pandemic, depression, bullying, substance abuse, sexual behavior, Physical Education and their relationships with the mental health of high school students. Future research trends may focus on studies investigating the relationships between the use of electronic cigarettes, sleep disorders, internet addiction, and the mental health of high school students. In addition to the six major research hotspots of COVID-19 pandemic, Depression and stress, Suicidal ideation, Bullying, Sexual behavior and Physical education. Researches should pay more attention to the use of electronic cigarettes, sleep disorders, and Internet addiction among high school students.

From Mine Waste to Construction Materials: A Bibliometric Analysis of Mining Waste Recovery and Tailing Utilization in Construction

This article presents a comprehensive scientometric analysis of mining waste valorization, focusing on tailings utilization in construction materials from 2010 to 2024. Through examination of 1096 Web of Science publications and utilizing CiteSpace mapping and network analyses, we analyze the intellectual structure of this field. Subject category analysis reveals materials science, construction technology, and environmental engineering as the dominant disciplines, interconnected through 168 links across 64 thematic nodes. Our co-citation analysis identifies 12 major research clusters, with materials science and environmental engineering serving as primary disciplinary pillars. Keyword co-occurrence analysis of 532 nodes connected by 1181 links highlights the field’s emphasis on fly ash, concrete applications, and mechanical properties. Recent citation bursts indicate growing research focus on thermal stability, heavy metal treatment, and innovative processing methods. Through synthesizing these scientometric indicators, this review provides strategic insights for advancing sustainable construction practices through mining waste utilization. Research gaps identified include long-term durability assessment, standardization needs, and scalability challenges. By synthesizing these diverse scientometric indicators, this review provides strategic insights for researchers, industry practitioners, and policymakers, contributing to the advancement of sustainable construction practices through mining waste utilization.

Research trends of cooperation in social dilemmas from 2003 ‐ 2023: A bibliometric study using CiteSpace

Over the past two decades, researchers have thoroughly investigated cooperation within social dilemmas to address societal challenges. However, there has been limited interdisciplinary review of this field. This paper provides the first comprehensive analysis of 2,232 articles from 2003 to 2023 within this research domain, utilizing CiteSpace. Our analysis includes statistical, collaboration, co-citation, and keyword co-occurrence analyses to elucidate current trends, key contributors, themes, and emerging areas. The findings indicate that: (1) The publications have shown a rising trend, meaning cooperation topics in social dilemmas receive wide attention. (2) Cooperation in social dilemmas is a prominent and interdisciplinary topic characterized by strong collaboration among regions, authors, and journals. (3) Key topics include social value orientation, spatial public goods games, procedural fairness, and group cooperation. Additionally, emerging research trends may encompass evolutionary dynamics of cooperation, complex networks of social dilemmas, sex differences in cooperation, and climate change. (4) Future research should focus on interdisciplinary theoretical integration, the brain mechanisms of cooperation, emerging social dilemmas in the real world, and cross-cultural comparative studies. This study provides a reference for researchers to understand the theme and research hotspot of cooperation within social dilemmas.

Global trends and current research in post-traumatic osteoarthritis: A bibliometric and visualization analysis from 2010 to 2024

Background: To investigate global trends and current research on post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) from 2010 to 2024 using bibliometric and visualization techniques. Methods: A bibliometric analysis was conducted using data from the Web of Science Core Collection. The study examined publication trends, author contributions, institutional collaborations, keyword co-occurrence, and citation patterns, employing CiteSpace software to analyze key metrics such as publication frequency, centrality, and clustering. Results: A total of 3100 articles were published between 2010 and 2024, with a steady increase over the years, peaking at 320 articles in 2023. Most publications were from the USA (1141 articles), China (502), and Germany (268), with key fields being Orthopedics, Surgery, and Rheumatology. Early research focused on different types of osteoarthritis, while recent studies highlight therapeutic advances such as cartilage repair and oxidative stress. Co-citation analysis identified influential authors like Lohmander LS, and key research clusters include total hip arthroplasty and regenerative medicine. Conclusion: Over the past decade, PTOA research has expanded substantially, driven by contributions from Orthopedics and Surgery, and supported by growing international collaboration, particularly between the United States, China, and European countries. Future research directions should prioritize elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying PTOA, advancing diagnostic methodologies, and developing innovative therapeutic approaches to improve patient outcomes. The interdisciplinary nature and international cooperation observed are essential to addressing the complex challenges posed by PTOA.

A Review and Bibliometric Analysis of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Noise Studies Between 2015 and 2024

Unmanned aerial systems (UAS), commonly known as drones, have gained widespread use due to their affordability and versatility across various domains, including military, commercial, and recreational sectors. Applications such as remote sensing, aerial imaging, agriculture, firefighting, search and rescue, infrastructure inspection, and public safety have extensively adopted this technology. However, environmental impacts, particularly noise, have raised concerns among the public and local communities. Unlike traditional crewed aircraft, drones typically operate in low-altitude airspace (below 400 feet or 122 m), making their noise impact more significant when they are closer to houses, people, and livestock. Numerous studies have explored methods for monitoring, assessing, and predicting the noise footprint of drones. This study employs a bibliometric analysis of relevant scholarly works in the Web of Science Core Collection, published from 2015 to 2024, following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) data collection and screening procedures. The International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Aerospace Science and Technology, and the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America are the top three preferred outlets for publications in this area. This review unveils trends, topics, key authors and institutions, and national contributions in the field through co-authorship analysis, co-citation analysis, and other statistical methods. By addressing the identified challenges, leveraging emerging technologies, and fostering collaborations, the field can move towards more effective noise abatement strategies, ultimately contributing to the broader acceptance and sustainable integration of UASs into various aspects of society.

Exploring tourists’ pro-environmental behavior: a bibliometric analysis over two decades (1999–2023)

PurposeThe main objective of this article is to visualize the structure and trends of pro-environmental behavior (PEB) between 1999 and 2023 through mapping and in-depth analysis. The aim is to analyze PEB, which has received considerable academic attention in recent years due to its key role in the conservation of the environment and the protection of local communities in tourist destinations. This paper provides an important summary of the recent research that has explored the role that tourists have in protecting the environment through PEB.Design/methodology/approachThis study presents a visual analysis of 2005 scholarly articles between the years 1999 and 2023 related to PEB. Using the knowledge mapping based on VOSviewer it presents the current status of research, which includes the analysis of citation analysis, co-citation analysis, co-citation network and longitudinal analysis.FindingsPEB is an emerging topic due to its relevance to protecting the environment in the context of travel. The citation and co-citation analysis show the relevance of the behavior of tourists with regard to protecting the environment. The co-word analysis highlights the current significance of research concerning green hotels and the destination image of environmentally responsible destinations.Originality/valueThis study sheds light on the current research progress of PEB in the context of tourism through a comprehensive analysis (citation, co-citation and co-word). In addition, we provide theories and factors that have been previously used to study PEB in the context of tourism. The findings contribute to a broad and diverse understanding of the concept of PEB, which can provide important insights for policymakers in formulating management strategies and policies aimed at reducing environmental impacts in destinations.

Main path analysis: a methodological framework for knowledge diffusion trajectories in scientometrics studies

Purpose The purpose of this study is to propose an analytical framework for generating main path analysis (MPA) and demonstrate the process involved in identifying, analyzing the MPA on a citation network and empirically testing in the research field chromosome anomalies (CA). Design/methodology/approach The proposed methodological structure involves five phases of the process. Search path method is used to measure the weights of each citation link from a source vertex to a sink vertex. The key route local main path and global main path are generated to identify the knowledge diffusion trajectories and validated by cross-referencing with existing literature, co-citation analysis and centrality measures of social network analysis. Findings The empirical validation of this framework within CA research demonstrates its potential for tracing knowledge diffusion and technological development trajectories over three decades. This approach elucidates two major intellectual knowledge flows. The first key-route main path identified the primary diagnostic protocols. The second key-route main path revealed that cancer or carcinogenesis is identified as one of the mainstream of CA. Research limitations/implications The limitations of the data and coverage period restrict the scope of this study. MPA was applied exclusively to the most influential sub network and disregarded other sub networks. MPA identified the seminal papers that provided a historical development in diagnostic protocol and their interconnectedness of disorders and diseases. This helps the researchers to develop targeted therapies and interventions, especially in cancer treatment. Social implications Exploiting MPA on CA research provides valuable insights to stakeholders in developing evidence-based public health policies. This is crucial for preventing the birth of children with birth defects or genetic diseases, promoting public health and reducing the socioeconomic burden on a country through enhanced surveillance and prevention efforts. Originality/value The study suggests that in addition to traditional scientometrics measures, MPA can be used to trace the evolution of knowledge and technological advancements. It also highlights the role of social network analysis measures in extracting main paths.

Spiritual Leadership Research: Past, Present and Future Using Bibliometric Analysis.

Given a dearth of comprehensive assessments, this study provided a quantitative and scientific analysis of 286 articles on spiritual leadership (SL) published in Scopus-indexed journals. Citation, cluster and co-citation analysis were employed to highlight the key works, sketch the intellectual framework and identify the research gaps. The most influential documents, journals, authors/researchers, countries and universities were also determined using citation analysis. Besides author co-citation and journal co-citation, analysis were alsoperformed to determine the intellectual structure of SL literature, followed by a thorough review of authors' keywords utilizing cluster analysis. Keyword co-occurrence cluster analysis led to the identification of five major clusters/streams: (a) spiritual leadership and well-being; (b) spiritual leadership and other types of leadership; (c) spiritual leadership and creativity; (d) spiritual leadership and employee-level outcomes; (e) spiritual leadership, sustainability and spirituality. Future research directions were suggested within each identified cluster. This study will assist regulators and academic scholars in understanding the nuts and bolts of spiritual leadership and identifying areas that require more research.

Audit and Sustainability in The Public Sector: an Analysis of International Scientific Production

Objective: To conduct a bibliometric analysis of the international scientific literature published on the topic of auditing and sustainability in the public sector through co-citation analysis, as proposed by Small (1973), and to identify the main topics discussed (Walter & Ribière, 2013). Theoretical Framework: The emphasis on the role of auditing in analyzing sustainability practices confirms that auditing plays a significant role in highlighting sustainability as an important aspect, which can contribute to mitigating the risk related to environmental violations (Hazaea et al., 2022). Method: To build and visualize bibliometric networks, as well as text mining from articles to visualize co-occurrence networks of key terms related to the topic, using the electronic tool Vosviewer (van Eck & Waltman, 2010). Results and Discussion: The term 'audit', with the majority of co-citations, demonstrates that the audit function is related to the Sustainable Development Goals. It was found that the most influential author is Professor PhD Carolyn J. Cordery, and the journal is Sustainability (Switzerland). Research Implications: As analyzed, the number of accounting and auditing journals found on the subject of this scientific study was quite limited. For future research, it is suggested to conduct studies using other databases. Originality/Value: The topic of audit and sustainability has been little studied in the Brazilian context (which differs from other countries analyzed); thus, identifying a research gap for further discussion on this subject.
